But again, I was just doing my stuff, not even writing on the chat or bothering anyone in game, and they immediately started insulting my play because, for THEM, I wasn't doing a good job... If they want someone who will do exactly what they want, just make a team and don't play on public... And I played the game since release (almost) and never experienced that too. That's why I made this post. I was just baffled by that situation happening twice, even though I know it's still rare. But some people here gave possible explanations (new update, nerf, etc.) for that, so maybe it's just some annoyed people putting their frustration somewhere else. It's just sad, that this ''somewhere else'' is on another player who just want to have fun...

Well you also have to realize this is an objective based, team oriented game. If you are off doing your own thing while the other people are waiting in the boss room for 2+ min because they want to start the fight, then that's on you.

During gargoyles cry for example, I came across a few players who wanted to get all the voca, and find the book, which completely slowed down the mission because we had to wait for them to do what they wanted to do before we could start the boss fight. And we had to point out that this is not the mission to be doing a bunch of optional side objectives if you cant do them quickly. Now sure, this is all in pubs, but just because you are in a pub doesn't mean you can just do whatever you want at the expense of other peoples enjoyment and not expect them to be annoyed.

  2. in my 7k+ hours of Warframe, I'v honestly never really seen any toxic players except for on very rare occasions. To the degree where it makes me start to think that when someone complains about toxic people, it just might be themselves who are being toxic. I'm not calling you a liar OP, or insinuating that you are the toxic person. Its just hard envision that there's a bunch of toxicity happening when I cant even recall 3 cases of someone being toxic in the 11 years iv been playing.

I think this is a short-term loss that creates the opportunity for a long-term gain.  Overguard ignoring CC has been a thing for awhile now, but there have always been these little exceptions to that rule that folks in the know could still use, which meant that the community wasn't feeling the full effects of Overguard ignoring CC.

However, now that these unintended exceptions have been rooted out, Overguard ignoring CC is in full effect.  So it's time for everyone to feel what it's like without any CC for Eximus.  And if players don't like that, they can unify in making their voices heard in the feedback section.

To give it the old college try, in the coming weeks I'll be playing around to see how this changes the feel of the game, and depending on what I find, I may speak up.  I encourage others to do the same.

People complained for months about the CC nerf because of the new overguard when overguard was introduced. Its been common knowledge since over guard was introduced that CC is 100% useless in high level/ steel path because of the increase in eximus units. And its been suggested since overguard that Eximus units should just have crazy damage reduction and slight reduction in CC so that CC is still usable.

DE doesn't care that CC abilities are useless. They haven't cared for like 7 years because they're still traumatized from when the meta was to CC enemies infinitely instead of kill enemies instantly.

  4. Nah. Its pretty common knowledge to not invest a crap ton of resources into content that was newly released for ANY game. I don't like the nerfs either, and its fine to be upset about your resources being used, but DE doesn't owe you anything.

  5. Does no one at DE actually play test these "slight changes"? It really just feels like Pablo went "im going to make it LOS so let me tick this LOS box" and then sent it. Because its pretty obvious right from the jump that these changes kind of ruin Dante. like enemies can practically hide behind a broom stick and not be hit by tragedy now, which feels AWFUL to play.

I get not wanting it to hit enemies behind walls and around corners, its still annoying that its nerfed that bad, but at least I can understand that. But this is beyond stupid in terms of how bad this LOS check is.

I also dont get how literally cutting the over guard in half is a "slight nerf". Like there are frames like Styanax who can generate the entire team infinite amounts of energy and over guard by spamming an ability that makes him immortal, but for some reason Dante's over guard is too much?

Its just really frustrating to see DE take such drastic actions against a brand new frame that people are enjoying, while not touching the frames that have been way more OP for YEARS. like if you're going to ruin the fun in the name of balance, at least be consistent about it.

We're working on it :) Apologies for the wait.

Any updates on this? If they aren't going to be given out then players should at least be notified they wont be getting them. I understand it isn't a high priority, but at this point its basically been 4 months, which is a little ridicules since they are expected parts of prime packs even if not explicitly stated.

  7. DE Megan said they are working on it a couple weeks ago, but since they still haven't come out, its probably not very high on their priority list. I agree though with how annoying it is to not get them.

My guess is that whoever makes the noggles has had their hands full, and hasn't gotten around to making them. After all, the majority of non prime warframes don't even have noggles available for purchase which has annoyed me for like 5 years now since I have been wanting to complete my noggle collection.

  8. I dont get it. Why are the alt helmet, floof, and noggle "bonus items limited to the accessories pack." But will also be in Varzias shop when his resurgence comes up?

What differentiates those items from the other accessories that aren't considered bonus items? Dont get me wrong, they absolutely should be purchasable when his resurgence happens, but marketing them as "Limited bonus items" if there is no difference between the other items just seems like deceptive marketing.

Also on the topic of Prime noggles. I don't believe last years prime noggles were given out this year. At least I have yet to get my wisp prime noggle even though I purchased her full pack.

  9. 1 hour ago, BowserNC said:

Wait what? I bought almost all prime accessories and I didn't get the noggles???? Are you sure?

I didn't get any prime noggle grom buying accessories, I think you have to buy the prime access instead.

Actually now that Ive gone back into my memory banks, I think I got the noggles from buying the prime resurgence packs from back when they unvaulted primes and sold their packs for a much cheaper price. Because I got a Mirage and Banshee noggles, and I know they had a pack together. The only reason I said I got them from the accessories is because I only every buy accessories but still got noggles in the mail. Except for Wisp prime, I bought her full access, but still haven't gotten her noggle :(

Site says: Please note: Prime Noggles for each Prime Warframe are historically given out via Inbox messages at the end of the year. Since Gauss hates to keep anyone waiting, we’re giving them the spotlight they deserve alongside bonus additions including the adorable Gauss Prime Floof and the aerodynamic Gauss Prime Blazargaze Helmet.

Considering noggles are exclusive to access, and not available with accessories, this just seems to be a badly disguised anti-consumer marketing decision.

I have definitely gotten prime noggles from just buying the accessories, so idk about that.

  11. They are both just game mechanics that DE implements awfully.

Sitting around and waiting for the boss to be vulnerable, is just as bad design as giving bosses damage attenuation that essentially just makes the entire boss fight a count down timer.

DE just needs to recognize that no matter what boss they make or how long it took to design the fight, players will have it "solved" in less than a day. And just because they force players to shoot at a boss for 2 minuets rather than 20 seconds, doesn't mean the boss hasn't been solved, it just means they're wasting players time. So they might as well just focus on making the fight fun, and invincibility and attenuation aren't fun.

Over the last few years some of DE's decisions and actions (or inaction in this case) really showed how little they actually care for some of the demographics of the community, or the community as a whole to be honest.... Decisions like locking players into a lengthy quest consisting largely of "filler-content" gameplay with a skill requirement higher than their "endgame content" and apparently not being able to help players get out of it are stark reminders that they just really don't care all that much.

Not to mention even as this is going on, they did find the time to consider allowing players to skip this very content, for a price of course.

what skill requirement is higher than the end game content? The only point in the entire quest iv seen anyone really struggle with is hiding from the guys who mask you. and even then the answer to that "skill check" is to stop trying to do the same exact thing over and over again.

People weren't upset about an optional skip, they were upset that DE was going to CHARGE for it.

This is just flat out wrong. people were FURIOUS at the very idea of any kind of story skip. Charging for it was just an additional irk that push some people over the edge of disliking it.

Like I said above that won’t happen as the fact they put in the description that it was going away forever and never coming back was legally binding

people bought the bundle under the understanding these were one time only and by law that’s binding

so due to the transactional agreement the frost & mag heirloom is legally unable to be brought back much like founders packs

DE couldn’t bring those back if they wanted to without landing in legal troubles

Legal troubles are debatable, but the main issue is DE losing the trust of players. They cant advertise a product as "going away forever after this date" then bring it back and expect people to be okay with it. Especially when they said they messed up with the pricing, so if they did bring it back at a lower cost it would be an extra "#*!% you" to the people who bought it first.

  15. And what I mean by that is that for some reason when you are in the arsenal, there is an unreasonably bright light that is pointed directly at you. It is so bright that it actually washes out a ton of the texture details, and makes it much MUCH harder to properly customize the appearance of your warframes and gear. Because if you want to see what your Warframe will actually look like in normal content, you have to leave the arsenal and stand somewhere else where there is normal lighting.

Example: Why does my Warframe look like this in the arsenal...

    Spoiler

    AZ0Jt51.png

When this is the brightest your warframe will ever be lit in 99% of normal content...

    Spoiler

    q2ayTSw.png

And to add some context, the colour I am using for the main channel is GREY (smoke palette, column 1, row 8). If I try to use pure white it literally washes out all details from the Warframe entirely, even though pure white doesn't have that issue at all with the vast majority of the rest of the game. And this is using the normal colour settings in the options. If you try to use HDR then it makes this issue even worse.

If DE is trying to give us a "best case scenario" when it comes to lighting for the arsenal then I get it, but at least give us a couple of different lighting options while we are in the arsenal so we can get a better understanding of what our frames will look like in normal content.

And like I said in the title, its not just for the arsenal (although the arsenal is obviously the most important issue). If you go down the right ramp, then there is this monstrosity of a light.

    Spoiler

    tqt4hak.png

And there are a bunch more just like that in the personal quarters.

This. DE did a really poor job in explaining anything to players, from gameplay to lore.

Things should get better now when Reb is in charge because she plays the game. Just look at void reactant buff and all the buff icons - how many years does it take for DE to implement a simple UI explaining how they work? 10 years. Think about it.

And DE thought a new intro cinematic and taking away MR requirement will help with player retention. No. I would say a lot of hand holding is necessary. DE should install something like chatGPT to Ordis so players can get answer directly in-game and that measure would still not be sufficient.

DE doesn't need a weird AI to teach players. they just need to make an actual tutorial that actually teaches players the basics. Like they need to force you to open the arsenal by having ordis say

"please go the the indicated location on the ship. this is called the arsenal" "now select your warframe and select the upgrade option" "This is the modding screen, everything can be modded by dragging the mods on the bottom of the screen into the empty slots above" "mods have a cost to install them into gear. You can see how many mod points your gear has left by looking here *highlights the mod points*" " you can increase the amount of mod points your gear has by leveling up your gear, up to a maximum of 30. If you wish to invest further into your gear, you can install a catalyst or reactor to double the amount of mod points available" "you can obtain catalysts and reactors by doing _____, ____, or purchasing them from the market", etc, etc. All while forcing you to follow along by installing certain mods, applying a free reactor to your starting frame, etc.

And do that for literally every one of the basic mechanics of the game, like the mod inventory, companions, foundry, navigation, helminth (once its unlocked), codex, etc. And there should be a little "?" icon on every screen that lets you go through the tutorial again should you ever need to. Yes it is very hand holdy, but warframe is a game that desperately needs to hold new players hands for a while, because there is just WAY too much stuff going on for new players to understand.

The amount of times iv seen a new player start the game and be just completely overwhelmed because they have been taught literally no information on even the most basic mechanics is infuriating, all because DE has refused to implement an actual proper tutorial, not just for the basics of the game, but even for new mechanics that are added. Where if you dont read the patch notes, or watch dev streams, then you're just S#&$ out of luck.

And when it comes to returning players, there really should be something similar to the "update #__" button in the start menu. But instead its a "Since you last played" button that gives you a brief summery of all the updates that have dropped since you last played, how to access those updates, some of the rewards for for doing the content in those updates, and a link to the full patch notes for each update they missed. It would give returning players a good idea of what they have missed, and how to catch up, without forcing them to come to the forums to ask the community, or look up all the patch notes on the wiki.

The internet is full of builds and information. What should DE rather do:
    1. Build a nice expansion, put their resources into new tilesets, factions, game modes, but expect every player to spend a couple of minutes to copy + paste a build?

    or

    2. Take care of returning players, hold their hands so they don't have to use the internet at all?

I hope the answer is clear as crystal. This is beyond ridiculous.... yes, for a new player the game seems to be confusing sometimes, but they already did a lot in this regard and there are a million players who somehow figured it out. Duviri for example is an amazing catch up mechanism and offers lots of end game viable weapons to play the game without any need to touch steel path.

why are you phrasing this like its a binary option? DE should be doing both.

And just because you and a bunch of others have survivorship bias, doesn't mean that its not an issue that should be tackled. For every 1 player that plays the game again after 2-3+ years and figures it out by going to the forums or looking up videos, there are probably 10 other players that try to hop back into the game only to be frustrated and quit because they have 0 clue of whats going on or what their next step should be, and its not worth their time when they can go play a different game that isn't asking so much of them.

I imagine they just made it where each curse contributed adds to the overall goal since that's much simpler than trying to figure out the number of clans  and how far along each one is. So your extra 1 a week probably does help, though I doubt there was any danger of us not reaching the goal.

I honestly think DE rigs the community contributions for game wide events. But if they don't, then I don't think we will get the Signa for this event. Because the event is slightly less then half way done, but we are only sitting at 35%. So either DE is going to step in once they get back from holidays and make it so contributions do more for the overall progress, or we are screwed and wont get to 100% unless the warframe community as a whole puts in 50% more effort.

TBH I don't think the Warframe community is going to be stepping up, since with pretty much all events the first few days see the most engagement as people grind for the new items and rewards, then there is a steep drop off as people lose interest.

I love Warframe, but I checked out of the lore after The New War.  I have no idea where the game is going now. We went from mysterious robot ninja mercenaries working for the Lotus organization to....i don't even know what the "story" is now. Like i don't know what we're even doing for these talking animals, but they give me loot so....

Isnt it pretty obvious that we are out of the Sentient wars part of the story, and we are now in the Man in the wall story?

The entire Whispers in the wall quest was beating us over the head with "The man in the wall is stalking both Albrecht and the operator. Albrecht spent a ton of his life doing some pretty awful S#&$ to find out what Wallies deal is. He couldn't, so now we are stuck cleaning up after him."

  20. okay, but getting the 18 curses a week isnt too hard. Im the only active player left in my 30 player clan, and I had enough curses to complete 3 weeks of the event after only 3-4 days of playing pretty casually. You will just passively obtain enough of them if you are farming for any of the rewards.

And even then, getting the curses doesn't even matter. All the curses do is give you trophies at the end of the event, which is literally just bragging rights. All of the actual rewards don't require you to get any of the curses at all.

  21. I think with Rebecca at being the new creative director and driving the ship, the story and plot is going to move along in a straightforward fashion.

I mean no offence to Steve, but it was very clear he had way too many ideas and not enough time, manpower, or dedication to see them through a lot of the time. Thats why we got a bunch of stories and lore with open ends, as well as a TON of different systems and mechanics that were half baked and abandoned (railjack, archwing, Nightwaves). It really just seemed like every 1-2 years Steve got bored and wanted to completely re imagine Warfrme.

Obviously its still relatively early in Rebeccas career as creative director, but iv been really liking the direction of the game since she took over.
