  1. If you hover over the title you'll get a pop-up of the post's contents. Even without that, it's never been a problem. If you don't like the title of a post, you don't have to click on it. And you can report it if you think there's a genuine problem.
  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_Within_(Shadows_Fall_album) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_Within_(film) https://www.amazon.com/War-Within-Secret-History-2006-2008/dp/1416558985 Which is simply to say, Warframe is far from the first to use this phrase. And I'd be incredibly surprised if any of these items I listed were the first as well.
  3. Personally I disagree with this. The main benefit of an Exalted Weapon is that you get a 4th weapon in your kit. It should be a good weapon, it should be able to solve problems. If the devs decide to give an Exalted Weapon's default strength a Roar-sized boost, that would be some sweet icing, but in no way necessary.
  4. This isn't a universal problem; there are numerous Exalted Weapons that are great and well worth using. Baruuk comes to mind, as does Excalibur, Titania, Mesa. And Artemis Bow has never let me down when I've pulled it out. Are there some Exalted Weapons that have fallen behind? Sure. But let's not pretend this is a problem shared by all Exalted Weapons.
  5. Broadly speaking, I think it adds to overall build variety when we have tools that are more useful in some situations and less useful in others, because that provides players with a context in which to make personal choices. Some players will choose a single weapon that does okay in all circumstances, some will build a few different weapons and take them each to the circumstances that best suits them, etc. Honestly my only criticism with status immune enemies is that I wish the game did a better job of communicating to players that enemies are status immune. I'd love to see some manner of visual effect that occurs when a status would have been applied but got negated, or something along those lines. And I do think it would be interesting to see crit-immune enemies, since at present investing crit never has its payoff revoked the way status does.
  6. The skin was never given an official release date. It will be released whenever DE decides it is ready to be released. To those who are confused because they assumed the skin would be released by now: I encourage you to take this as a learning opportunity about assumptions.
  7. I think you misunderstood me, because I'm talking about hiding them, too, not canceling them. For the players it is meaningful for, it's very important. I described just a few of the important problems — for players — that this addresses in an earlier post, such as phishing and impersonation; I encourage you to re-read those, because they are very serious problems. What you just described isn't too hard to achieve, but that's not even a solution to the handful of situations I described earlier, let alone all of the situations that actually need to be covered to make the system as safe and reliable as possible. The problem of deciding when to show and when not to show is a very complex one that would take a lot of work to solve, if it is in fact even capable of being solved. Conversely, just showing the numbers all the time avoids any need to engage with that complex intermediary problem while solving all of the core problems handily. The only downside is that you see some numbers, which for most people is a non-issue. I understand that this is difficult for you right now, and I'm sorry for that. But I would be genuinely surprised if in 6 months you hadn't learned to accept it; the human brain is amazing in its ability to adapt to new situations!
  8. On the contrary; they have indeed adequately solved these problems. That's what the numbers do. With respect, you seem to think that what you're asking for here is an easy task, but it's most certainly not. I'm not even sure if it's possible with today's technology, and it's certainly not simple. If you disagree, I'd encourage you to try to do it yourself, as an exercise. Write out all of the circumstances when you do need to see your numbers, then write out all the circumstances when you don't need to see your numbers. Then for each of those situations, write out some pseudo-code about how the game would detect whether you are or aren't in that situation. I think you'll quickly run into problems that you're unable to solve. Without a system to determine when the numbers are necessary, the safe bet is to simply always have the numbers, which ensures that they are always available when they are necessary.
  9. I understand your desire, but from a development standpoint it's a bad idea to let your users hide data that they will sometimes need, especially when that data affects your interactions with other users. At the top of the problem pile is that a player who can't see the numbers won't be able to tell that user DarkDestroyer is actually DarkDestroyer#333 and not their friend DarkDestroyer#777; this opens all players up to an avenue for impersonation and phishing, and that's something DE will definitely want to avoid. Beyond that, anyone who can't see the numbers is likely to have trouble contacting other players, or might even send messages to the wrong player. Which would invariably result in messages that would be interpreted as friendly joking if received by the intended recipient instead being received by strangers who interpret them as harassment and abuse. These are all problems that can be meaningfully mitigated by putting some numbers at the end of everyone's names and making sure that everyone can see them. It doesn't look clean, but it's there to make things work and prevent even bigger problems.
  10. Remember, this isn't just for cross-play, but also for cross-save. Once cross-save is implemented, your Bob account that originated on PSN will no longer be tied to PSN. You can play that Bob account on any platform. Because of that, adding the platform to distinguish between different Bobs no longer works, because with cross-save you can have 4 accounts all playing on PC with the name Bob.
  11. I will agree that this is a bummer and seems needless. Sorry to hear that's happened. That said, considering it's now a weapon you need to pay resources for, you're not missing out; the Gotva Prime is a decent weapon, but it's not great. At this point, for most people Gotva Prime is going to be Mastery Fodder, and it will most definitely continue to periodically appear in Baro's catalogue, so if you don't get it today you can get it down the road. So unless you just really love the Gotva Prime for some reason, there's no need to despair. There are plenty of better weapons at whatever your MR is; you aren't missing out.
  12. Mine is 691 and that's been enough to put a smile on my face every time I see it.
  13. I agree that they'd be in the clear in regards to information and it's accuracy. The main issue that I can imagine coming up if DE hosted the wiki would be that of moderation. Which is to say, in a hypothetical world where DE is hosting the current wiki, they would be platforming hate speech. Not in the articles/pages themselves (at least not from what I've seen), but in the Comments sections below those pages, where anyone can pretty much say anything. In actual reality, DE isn't hosting the wiki and thus has no ability to moderate that content. And as they say, "ought implies can": nobody can reasonably expect you to do something you don't have the power to do. So DE is in the clear, their reputation unaffected by what a few bigots choose to do on a website DE doesn't control. But the instant they host the wiki, that's no longer true; DE would then have absolute power over the content hosted on the wiki, and with that power would come responsibility and expectations. Just like with the forums, DE would likely need to pay a skilled team to moderate the content of the wiki and any comments. To not do that would undermine the values that DE has worked to associate with their brand. Because of that, I would understand if DE doesn't jump to the rescue and offer to host the wiki, as it would almost certainly require not only paying the fees associated with hosting, but also the salaries of those tasked with keeping the wiki in-line with DE's inclusive values. But if they did, that would be cool and appreciated! ^^
  14. Ah, I think I understand now. So the "aura" itself isn't something that directly affects the player, it's enemies with the aura hitting the player with any attack? That makes sense to me! Haha, I appreciate the apology energy here! We're all good ^^
  15. How exactly does the aura work? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding it. I would assume that it would drain at a constant rate while within a certain proximity of the Eximus? But if that's the case, it doesn't seem like that's what's happening in the video (which is 1 year old, in case that context matters). I just watched the video at 25% speed and it looks like there's a single giant energy drain that coincides with the arm attack, and then the Valkyr is still within that same range of the Eximus while picking up an energy orb, but the energy from that orb doesn't seem to be draining at all. This makes me question what's going on. If you're correct, though, maybe you can give it a watch and pinpoint what I'm misunderstanding, or at least what's actually happening? I just want to understand it ^^;
  16. Just to add, in my experience this is a major source of energy drain if you get hit by it; here's a video of a Hysteria'd Valkyr getting entirely drained of 380 energy from a single hit:
  17. It sounds like even with "scripts on", your Firefox (or something else that's active) is still doing some blocking, hence the ad window with nothing in it. I'm accustomed to a half-dozen simultaneous pop-ups (that dominate the screen real-estate on mobile).
  18. There's a reasonable argument to be made that that the Warframe wiki is a vital part of being able to play and enjoy Warframe; there is so much information that is either inaccessible or obfuscated in the game itself, and the wiki provides quick and easy access to answers. Or at least, it used to. As a console player, I tend to use my phone to access the wiki, and the pop-ups and ads keep getting worse. Yesterday I visited the wiki to get the answer to a question, and after several minutes of trying to read a chart that was almost entirely obfuscated by ads, I actually decided that I would be better off leaving without the information I was looking. Today, in a cosmic coincidence, my YouTube feed suggested this video: Feel free to watch it if you want, but the TL;DW seems to be that many communities and their admins have been migrating away from Fandom due to increasingly invasive pop-ups and a lack of control over content; the video also goes over several possible destinations for migrating wikis. So I ask my fellow players — and especially the wiki admins — what are your thoughts on a theoretical migration? I don't want to in any way undersell the lift that such an endeavor would require, but the benefits might be worth it if the wiki becomes more accessible and usable. Curious to hear what others think on the matter!
  19. It sounds like you're saying that the existing Q&A chat isn't accessible in the dojo? That sounds like a good thing to change! You'll probably have the best results of DE seeing that feedback if you post about it in the appropriate forum sub-section: https://forums.warframe.com/forum/18-art-animation-ui/
  20. Corrosive Projection has two primary use cases: You want to lower the Power Strength requirements for your abilities to fully strip armor. You aren't going to be doing any precision armor stripping but would just generally like enemies to have lower armor values. Considering that Hydroid's whole kit is Corrosive now, and his passive allows for a 100% armor strip, I generally speaking I don't see much of a purpose to Corrosive Projection on him. It's niche, but Bosses are immune to his passive, meaning that full Corrosive stacks only gets them to 80% armor strip like normal. So Corrosive Projection could get them to 2% armor, if that feels worth it to you. But even for this niche use case, in my opinion it would be better to just use a weapon with Shattering Impact or something. Tentacle Swarm I cannot even imagine a world in which I am playing the only Warframe who can conjure proper tentacles and I get rid of the tentacle ability. I will not go down this path with you. I REFUSE.
  21. I'm aware of what they said, but that doesn't really approach the point I'm making. To reiterate, if we're going to regress towards inefficient systems, I want there to be an incredibly fulfilling reason for it. And there's nothing about sharing keys that feels cool or interesting or fun. On the contrary, it's just a hassle I need to deal with before actually playing the game. It's a bit wild to me because from a design perspective, there was no genuine need to make keys part of this; it would have worked just fine without them. Click the mission, do the mission. Beyond that, even with keys, there was never a need for this problem. Make keys cost 25% of what they currently do, and require one from everyone in the mission. Great, now we can use normal matchmaking. And conveniently, in this same Devstream, this is exactly what they announced they were doing with Plague Star to prevent abuse/leeching. Everyone makes mistakes, and to err is human; this isn't the end of the world. But I will admit to being a bit shocked that this came out of the oven as clunky as it did.
  22. I don't understand not using automated matchmaking. Making a pre-formed group takes time and effort that I don't want to waste; I just want to play the game. Computers are amazing at automating that process, finishing it within seconds instead of minutes. Automated matchmaking raises the quality of my life. If we're going to regress towards inefficient systems, I want there to be an incredibly fulfilling reason for it.
  23. You in no way need to replace abilities with Helminth. There are some cool combos that are only accessible via this system, but nothing that will drastically reduce your game experience. Also, if you play a frame and don't feel like any of their abilities are useless, then you probably wouldn't use Helminth to replace one anyway.
  24. Why does this not work? After holding 1 for a second or two you shouldn't need to hold it anymore to continue hovering. At that point you can simply use the directional keys to switch abilities and cast them as you please, unless a specific ability would always cancel the hover. Or at least that's my experience. If you're finding that there's an interaction that works with one control scheme but doesn't work with another, that sounds like a bug worth reporting!
