  1. I try not to make much sense of such things. If the Corpus was indeed a corporation and there was a deadlock between board members, this would be broken by the assembly of stockholders, unless we assume that each of the 14 board members has an exact 1/14th of ownwership on Corpus "stock" (or whatever thing incorporates ownership). But Corpus is not really a corporation, as they have elements of a cult and other stuff that don't make much sense from a business perspective. In fact, what we see in-game mostly is a military operation with emphasis put on proxies, robotic technology, energy weapons and such.

  2. I can't imagine the amount of pointless inconvenience this would add to the game.

I'll say this though: anyone who doesn't like the current system of MR providing mod capacity minumum can self-impose a rule so that whenever they forma a new weapon they can get rid of all their mods until the point dictated by the rank of the weapon "allows" them to add said mods. It's not that hard.

  3. "Suspension of disbelief" is pretty selective when you don't have friendly fire in general. I don't really understand why you are bothered in this respect by the lack of self damage we have now (by some weapons) when with the system we had before you could fire the same self-damaging weapon on your teammate (or defense target etc.) with no repercussions. That didn't make any sense. If anything, the no self-damage system we have now feels more consistent with the idea that teammates cannot hurt each other in any way.

  4. 14 minutes ago, (NSW)Greybones said:

I see eye-to-eye with you on many of the things you said except this quoted bit.

When I observed that a bunch of new Forum accounts had been created solely for the purpose of posting “Count me in”, I hadn’t actually considered it could be interpreted as a “Hope there’s a distribution solution”, though I can see how it was (and think it’s good food for thought for me personally)

It was mainly a curious observation; Where’s they come from? How’d they hear about this? What were their thoughts surrounding the PTC as they went through the process of setting up their Forum account? Will they ever use these accounts for anything else on the Forums? Will we now see an influx of new posters as some decide “Welp. Finally got on the forums, let’s see what’s up”? (etc.).

Not that I’m asking for answers for any of these, just some of the curiosity that went into the observation 😛 Hope that cleared up any potential misunderstanding 👍

My guess is that the vast majority of the WF playerbase is silent when it comes to social media presence. Plenty of those people just browse (or lurk in) places like the forums, or reddit, or the wiki or even watch video from youtubers to gather information about the game but rarely participate in them actively for whatever reason. I can tell you that sometimes visiting the forums and reading the same old arguments that go round and round and round brings more aversion for the game to me than the actual problems in the game. There is always an aspect in social media presence that is problematic and that comes down to people being people i.e. it cannot be avoided.

Beta testing though? This is something that many people would love to take part in as there is no such social media interaction involved (or of it is, it's limited). If CD Project Red says tomorrow "beta testing opens for 5000 people" for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game thousands upon thousands of players would dive in to get that opportunity, even if they have never posted on the official forums.

I have to stress though, this is just my guess on the whole situation.

  5. My biggest gripe with Railjack right now is how intrinsics are handled. Let me put it this way: the best way (by far) to get intrisnics is by getting involved in activities that really have nothing to do with the Railjack itself i.e. not by piloting, gunning, fixing holes, using the slingshot or crafting materials in there. With the coming of Scarlet Spear it is by far preferrable to get into the Murex and wish for the codes to be sent from the ground not very often. With a warframe with high dps (e.g. Mesa) you can spend several minutes there seeing intrinsics pour into your total. This does not make any sense. Why does being in warframe form and using warframe skills has anything to do with intrinsics?

Same thing with the Railjack missions, pre-Scarlet Spear:

    - If I enter a Grineer Asteroid base through my landing craft, I get no intrinsics.

    - If I enter a Grineer Asteroid base through the Railjack (actually Railjack-->Archwing-->Base) I get intrinsics depending on the Grineer I kill and the xp value of those kills

There is no actual difference i.e. in both cases, I use a Warframe to kill enemies on an enemy base (or galleon, or whatever, doesn't really matter), there is no internal logic having one of those "rewarded" with intrinsics.

I'm sure someone will come up and tell me to shut up because there are not really any other ways of getting intrinsics without dying of grind, but I'd propose an overhaul in the whole system of gaining intrinsics, through things that you do within the Railjack and by having those things getting significant xp for this specific purpose. Added incentives could also be introduced e.g. finishing a mission in a given amount of time might award an extra number of intrinsics for the squad involved (in a similar way Plains/Orb Vallis missions have extra bonuses) or perhaps fixing every problem (e.g. fires) within a very short time could also add a bonus.

As it stands now, this system does not really motivate anyone to play Railjack, but just be a part of missions that can gain the most xp on some enemy ship.

  6. Honestly, I'd like to hear some news concerning the New War. This is the only important Warframe update I'm looking forward to for years and I think it's time for DE to conclude the main storyline, at least as far as this chapter is concerned. Putting the whole Tenno/Lotus thing to rest, even if that means that Lotus dies (or not, or whatever, I just hope they'll flesh it out). I'm sick and tired of having the purple Lotus hologram/imitation by Ordis for so, so many years now giving orders or getting "gift from the Lotus" while this whole situation isn't resolved.

I do not expect for the New War to be released anytime soon, just some news that DE is at least at some advanced stage of it.

  7. The three you mention, OP, are the ones I use the most from all the Kuva arsenal, and have become some of my most-used weapons in general. Chakkhur is probably the one that "surprised" me the most because it seemed new as an idea in general for Warframe - although it does look a bit silly. I love the reload animation on that one.

Other weapons I find worthwhile are the Brakk and Kohm. I probably should use them more.

  8. It's tedious is all I can say. With few exceptions of weapons that I found worthy and I would have forma-ed 5 times anyway, it was a pain carrying around something I was not really interested in just for the sake of mastery rank points. I suppose I could ignore levelling such items all the way to 40, but I feel like I am a completionist when it comes to such things.

I think DE sees how many forma some people have laying around in their inventories and wanted to make some of those disappear rather quickly. Or of course, for the players that don't have any, create some demand for forma that can be sated quickly only through platinum.
