  1. Don't even remember when i started. lol Would have to look it up. I know it's been a while and yeah i agree. With warframe it felt like i thrown in the deep end. I don't usually like that kind of thing. And wanted to give us more than a few times. But the movement and diversity of weapons, frames, etc pulled me back into tons. Something other games just didn't and still don't have. With that said.... Yeah. A little pet peeve of mine is the whole holding your hand thing. Warframe wasn't that. And while that does exist. To me. It only goes for like lego games. When driving on a highway there are markers. Signs. Lines. Dots. Slashes. Etc. For a reason. Because if we don't know where we're going. There's a much much higher chance of accidents. While warframe isn't in any way shape or form as serious as driving down a highway. The rest of our world has guides. And has them for the same reason. Part of the reason warframe is so chaotic now is because of people attempting constantly to color outside the lines. Looking for and succeeding in...making some of the most busted...OP..red criting...enemies spewing things as humanly possible. Which then upsets other players. Making it almost a war between developers and players. Causing untold weapons, frames, etc to be nuked into the ground. lol I don't think most of that nuking is good idea. But i get why the developers do it. It'll piss off new players. Have them sitting in a corner in a mission while blank frame turns all enemies in the area to liquid. :P There's a reason why DE added so much towards new players in the last few years. And it's because dropping people in the deep in isn't what they were supposed to do. It didn't help them. Sure, it attracted certain kinds of players. But that number is much smaller than the amount of players who need guidance on something like this. Basically. There's a difference. A massive difference. Between hand holding. And guidance. What warframe used to do (to me) was along the same lines as giving a person a stick an telling them to take out 300 enemies. It's the opposite of handing for sure. But it was the extreme in the other direction. Can't tell you how many times i was utterly confused when i first started. Relying about 80% on other places casually mentioning warframe reliquary, warframe market.com, warframe wiki, etc. Which i might add...has nothing to do with DE themselves. I don't know if i missed it (could have considering i'm slow sometimes) or if DE just didn't put it in the right place. Or if they just didn't at the time allude to it properly. But i didn't know about modding until like a 6 or 7 months in from playing. I know i'm talking a lot here (that's how i do and have been trying not to with non-serious topics) but again...hand holding should be the last thing to come up when talking warframe's start. It's very very different now. They fixed more than a couple things. But to me. The whole hand holding thing not only doesn't apply to warframe's start. But it matches up with git gud and masks the fact that warframe used to be the exact opposite. The extreme other way of hand holding. To the point where they were losing players hand over fist. Never played star wars galaxies. But i would imagine i'm very very far from being the only one. I do agree with you though. Warframe is in that category of games.
  2. That was literally my first experience with the game. Asking for help in any way shape or form. Or attempting to criticize the game or developers garnered exactly that. The army of git gud replies from the community. Not only that but many of the things that help players know where to go and what to do. That are currently built into the game just flat out wasn't there. Only reason i found out about warframe wiki, warframe market.com and other things is because i have a tendency to try to look up things on my own. And yeah, when i first started it was insanely difficult grinding. For a good portion of leveling up i relied almost exclusively on higher level players mowing down enemies in missions. Which is ironic because the community is avidly against that now. When i needed to level a weapon or warframe. I'd solo some missions. And the grind and difficultly doing that really was driving me nuts. I didn't like like it. But i was testing out my new computer at the time and warframe was free. So i stuck with it. That and the movement of the warframes caught me. I had absolutely zero idea how to mod either. Meaning i was constantly getting my face kicked in. Almost ending up breaking my keyboard at the time. lol Didn't feel like a learning curve to me. It felt like a whole &^* mountain. Like a brick wall. Now? Very different. I'll literally get bored because i know if i mod things in specific ways i can take out most of warframe with ease. Did not start out that way though. lol
  3. Make bows much more powerful. :) Not aoe bows. Not trick bows. Regular degular bows. So i can use them on steel path more often.
  4. Oh how i wish there were more lore in this game. Which might sound odd considering the story spans thousands of years maybe more. But there are connections missing. Like why we should care about blank or blank. I know why they don't though. Putting a face on certain things and people would take away people's head cannons.
  5. Oh i agree. But still. The reasons those people wouldn't have stayed anyway is also the same reason eximus units scared them away. Not their kind of game. Like when i came into warframe i deem it one of the most frustrating games i ever played. And that has never stopped being true. DE regularly goes after the whole git gud thing with almost everything they do. The consequence of that is people just stop playing. No idea how many stopped over railjack or the hardcore farming part but i do know they exist. Dunno. Just think it pays to keep in mind that people just aren't gonna like blank. And not only is it ok but normal.
  6. I think you're correct. Those players want to play the game how they want to play it. The problem with that is. Is that a bad thing? I mean beyond them wanting to be able to jump through walls. Call down an air strike like in call of duty. Or build buildings like in fortnite. How much of a problem is it for players to want to play warframe how they want to play it? They are casual casual like you said. But they're also potential players. Potential customers. And if they think eximus is too much to deal with then yeah...they won't come back. Not that that's much of a big deal. Considering warframe's player base be tossin dollars like they're in the best strip club ever made. lol But it is a thing. Generally speaking. Each time DE puts something into the game they lose players. Period. So it's a win some, lose some. Play another type thing to me. At the same time. I don't think it helps devaluing (even if slightly) small groups of players or large. For them it's a bad move. For others is isn't. I do think overall though that DE is screwed themselves into a certain kind of thinking. Where certain players just don't matter. I mean when was the last time a non-naratuk bow that wasn't aoe got to shine in steel path? But yeah. You are correct. And that's why a certain amount of people don't stick with warframe.
  7. I agree. That is how things go. But when does logic and morality come in? To give you a heads up. What i said caused offense now and i'm 100% sure in the history of humanity it also caused offense. Your loss on refusing the dm. :P
  8. Gonna have to seriously and i mean SERIOUSLY question you on that last bit. Because from what i know of people. This is also true. One or two people say a thing. And thousands of other people say all of that group said it. That all of that group thinks it. To be even more specific than that. When it comes to media outlets of a certain breed. Four, five maybe even six people say a thing. And not only does what they said get attached to insanely large groups of people. But it happens over the span of lifetimes. But that's a topic for another time yeah. With that said. There's one thing we aren't really talking about. How harmful offense actually is. When we're talking religion? We all know (whoever paid attention during history) that can get very dangerous very quickly. And not only in certain parts of the world. But everywhere. How honest they are about being upset though? Well, when it comes to religion. I would imagine it's very very real. Depending on how long they've believed in it. And when they were pushed into believing it. Like did it start at the age of five? 15? Or were they literally born into religion like most of the world. If they were born in it. There's zero question in my mind that they're being honest about them being offended. Is the offense logical? Is it valid? First off, in their mind it is. Any further than that...and we'd have to hit specifics. As an aside..i try not to piss off religious people. Hard as hell to not do given the subject matter. And as...an atheist. I'd say their faith isn't valid or logical with caveats. But i've never once questioned if their offense were a scapegoat. Because thousands of years of behavioral modifications will tell a person all kinds of things. They shouldn't take offense...IF..that's what religion said not to do. But i don't think there's a religion on the face of this planet that doesn't tell it's people to flip out over it. The way i see it. Their religion IS their agenda. There is no different. Religion tells them to jump. They ask how high. Notice i never once said god tells them anything. So again. Questioning their motives isn't something i'm about to do. First off because their offense is their offense. They're free to get offended. It's when they start to act on others i take issue. I agree though. It is hypocrisy. Again though.
  9. I've only been using this forum for like a day or so. Made a different thread. Made some comments in that thread. Then checked out a couple other threads. I've seen chat. I've interacted with players before. And was even on warframe reddit for a bit. And through all that i've noticed one consistent thing. A lot of people don't know the difference between complaining and criticism. So here we go. 100% sure people will point out if they think i'm wrong. But i'm also pretty sure i'm not on this subject. Complaining....generally speaking...isn't valid. There's no way to verify that complaining is true. Has a point. Or is something someone or many someone's should fix. Criticizing? Is. You can verify the problem brought up when someone is criticizing something or someone. You can point to it. There's a point there. There's something to talk about there. Here's another thing. People can do both. And sometimes people can do both at the same time. Taken line by line. A comment or thread could start out with just complaining and end with some real criticism. Or it can start out with criticism and end in complaining. Hell, it can even have a bit of both sprinkled in. A person can go...i hate excal.....he has less survivability than rhino. The first part is just complaining. It's hate. So it isn't really valid. But the part about not being able to survive as long as rhino...is valid. It'd be real nice if people paid attention to stuff like that. I'm sure it'd make the community a bit better when it comes to showing the developers what players actually want. And showing what's actually wrong with the game or right about the game. Don't get me wrong. While it isn't valid. Complaining is good for the soul sometimes. Makes us feel better to get something out. At the same time. People not knowing the difference and painting criticism as complaining...to me..does far worse. To restate. There's logic in complaining. Helps us get our frustrations out. Not always good. Not always bad. Criticism? That's the basis of logic. And no matter what the subject matter or the person. It can help. Across the board. But again again. Some people don't know the difference and paint any and everyone saying anything about the game as..complaining. That's it. Up to yall what you think about that one.
  10. That's the general opinion yes. But it's the general opinion before you know what it is. I'm not saying this to sound egotistical. Though i'm 100% sure some will think and say i am. But there was a time in which saying the earth was round caused an uproar. With that also being considered toxic and problematic. Same goes for...i'll go ahead an say it....things atheists would say about religion. As far as temping more goes? What if i told you i never said in this thread to begin with? Meaning there is no tempting happening. Would you still say i'm tempting fate? How about this so i won't even have a chance to make the forum toxic. How about...you said me a private message. And i'll tell you what i said that got me banned from so many places. :)
  11. I agree. Getting pathos clamps just about killed whatever desire i had left to keep doing the game mode. After all the bumps and bruises of launch. Losing numbers of rewards after playing for long periods of time. And just generally being dark souls/elden ring. Clamps being needed for most of the new weapons just wore me out. I get why it is the way it is though. They needed time. I would imagine making stuff for warframe takes a while. And with flop after flop of game mods, weapons, warframes, etc. They knew their playerbase was getting restless. In comes durviri. And incarnons. Where there's a massive element of time there. Waiting for the incarnon week change. Waiting for clamps. Going through herding. Having to fight wormies for a small amount of drops. Etc. It's all to buy time. To hold us over until the next thing. And the next thing. Like they've been doing for a while now. It's not a bug. It's a feature. With that many incarnons it was meant for us to grind away until blank. I don't thing they care about player burn out at this point. Considering they have one of the longest free to play games probably ever. With that said. If they gave us more. It'd probably screw up their timeline of production. Which sucks. But it isn't like they haven't to some degree been doing that this entire time.
  12. I don't know about that. Most things are inherently offensive to people because they put a lot of time an effort into it. Not only that but some "things" dictate that they SHOULD be offended by it. Which is a tangled web to approach because respecting one "thing" and not another....should be offensive. Not only that but is illogically inconsistent. I mean we're talking probably thousands of years of said "things" wrecking havoc on humanity. While at the same time embedding itself (along with others embedding it) into danged near any and everything we do. I would be surprised if they DIDN'T get offended by those "things". But. What if we were talking facts? What if we were talking a statement that was not only factual. But something the angry people regularly say themselves. Just not in the same context or for the same reason. Something regularly used as a defense for something in one context not being allowed as a reason for another. Which again should be about as dangerous as a jello mold. And yet. gains the same kind of reaction. As if someone kicking the family dog and grandma in one leg movement. lol It isn't surprising when it comes to the "things" you alluded to. That thing has been around long enough to thoroughly mind meld the vast majority of human beings. So drastically that people are willing to die for it. All across the globe. Nah. I'm talking something different.
  13. I'd say overguard both is and isn't a problem/steps in the wrong direction. Mainly based off of what the developers are trying to do. If they're trying to shut up the bragging rights players...it's awesome. Gives them something to chew on enemy wise. If they're trying to push players into mid/maxing even harder...excellent. It works wonders towards that. If they're trying to keep casual players? The people who don't have time to farm any an every mod/augment, weapon, frame, etc that can easily deal with overguard? Big old mistake. To me. It depends on the types of players they want to keep playing. Which sounds like i'm not saying much. But. It matters. Crapping on casual players means warframe stays in the dustbins. Only being known and loved by very specific players. Otherwise, it becomes more well known. And people can pick it up and put it down when how they feel. So it's about the outcome desired. I'm guessing though...they want players who'll max out any and everything because those players are more likely to spend money. So ultimately a good thing.
  14. Nah, i'm cool. Like i hinted at. It's something i've said across multiple social media sites. Thinking it wasn't that big a deal. And was not only banned on all those. But was banned from chat twice for it. lol So personal message or nothing. :)
  15. Here's something that helped me deal with those kinds of players. Reminding myself that odds are good we're playing with kids, teens and/or people with nothing else better to do with their time. Might get myself in trouble with this one (considering recent events in my own personal experiences) but the vast majority of players here are pretty chill. Don't take a few for all players or most. Hell, most of the time they don't even talk when i'm in a mission. :P
  16. First time using the forum but ReddyDisco you are correct. :) Oh boy would you have a good time learning what got me chat banned. It's about as dangerous as putting butter on pancake. If you want though. You can message me personally in game if or here (don't know how it works). And i'll tell you. Be warned. It's some of the mundane stuff you'll ever hear in your life.
  17. Imagine for a second. Having something to say. And what you have to say is considered so dangerous. So toxic. So scary. That in saying it you consistently have people banning you across different social media sites and a game for having said it. Something that they consider so nightmarish. So utter frightening. That they refuse to allow it to be said on the internet. How bad would that have to be? Or. How wide spread would something have to be to make people think it were dangerous.
