1. The open space hall is, what, 5-6 times the size of the Inspiration hall? And it only gets 800 cap? It's just abysmal. You basically get shoe-horned into 'spacious'/space designs, or have to forgo detailing and effects.

I just finished my project in it, and even though I wasn't expecting much from 800 cap in this space, I was still disappointed. The asteroid belt is essentially only 60-70% done, and I couldn't do much in the way of detailed building area beyond those parts at the entrance and one arm.

  2. Not entirely sure if it's caused by the deferred rendering, but it certainly affects the quality, so I'll post it here:

The arsenal reflection behaves really shoddily right now, with both Deferred rending on and off. Not sure if it's the same with other reflections, just the first thing I noticed. Especially the inability to look straight at it is rather jarring.

Off: Distance cut-off is rather sharp, and looking straight at the reflection makes it disappear, similar to what happens when looking through Mirage's doppelgänger images.

On: Distance cut-off edges way smoother, but still unable to look straight at it.

Edit: seeing the other poster issue comments, I'll also add my findings regarding that: it's dodgy. Some are unaffected, like the 3 posters near my arsenal which show up normally, but others don't show up unless I get close and angle my camera in a specific manner.

  3. 13 hours ago, Zakkhar said:

In open world maps if you receive enough damage in short period while in AW, you die instead of falling down off Archwing (regardless of your AW EHP).

It is not tied to Hemocyte.

Most slam attacks have higher range than weapon reach.

Solution: do not try to cheese it in AW.

Which would be one thing, but does not even remotely explain why the damage listed is related to hemocyte slam attack.

    02:01:20 - <Alighierian> took 4,338 damage at 2,096 health from a level 75 HEMOCYTE using a EidolonLephantisSlamTrig

That bit right there, as mentioned in the post. I got that from the EE.log which Warframe uses to track stuff. If it would be random unrelated damage which mysteriously stacks at the same time as another event, namely, the Hemocyte starting to retract its scythe, I'd start asking some serious questions about what the hell is going on coding-wise.

In other words: If you'd have actually read the post, you'd have known it isn't about instantly dying in AW. It isn't even about dying in AW during the fight. It's about getting hit by an attack during a moment which should, and is, design wise, not an attack phase or animation. It is very possibly tied to AW, but more in relation to something that happens during the Hemocyte's animation cycle and interacts with AW in an unintended manner.

    I'll sum it up again:

    • I lure out the melee attack of the 3rd head after killing the other 2
    • During the attack ramp up I dodge out of the way, so I can avoid the attack
    • Attack animation, with me taking 0 damage because I dodged out of the way in advance
    • 'Stuck in ground'-animation phase, during which I damage the head some more
    • 'Stuck in ground' ends and the Hemocyte starts resetting back to idle
    • I get one-shotted out of the sky by 'HEMOCYTE using a EidolonLephantisSlamTrig' during the initial bit of the reset animation
  4. During my somewhat numerous runs I've encountered the following bug at least 2, maybe 3 times.

In short: After the forward melee slam's 'stuck in ground'-phase, at the start of the reset back to idle, frame and Archwing get damaged as if hit by the slam attack itself.

After some combinations for weapons and frames I've taken to using my Wisp+Itzal to solo Plague Star, generally with rather decent results. On sporadic instances, however, I've encountered this bug where it just kills me, even though I'm not lagging, I didn't get hit by the slam itself, and I wasn't directly near the scythe when it started resetting. Nevertheless, it just slaps me with the full damage as if I was admiring the scenery and he slammed the blade though my frame.

The screenshot shows where I died in the air (Itzal), after the melee head started retracting his scythe. He slammed down near the left of the rock, and I made sure to keep well clear of the attack, both before and after as this isn't the first time I've had this happen. I've checked the EE.log via https://semlar.com/deathlog, which listed the following:

    02:01:20 - <Alighierian> took 4,338 damage at 2,096 health from a level 75 HEMOCYTE using a EidolonLephantisSlamTrig

I haven't found any clues on what actually causes it or how to replicate it. I can't say if it's purely linked to using Archwing, as I currently only run Plague Star with the Wisp+Itzal combo, and it's very inconsistent with triggering. The only consistent parts are me being in Archwing, flying around to trigger the attacks but dodging them before they hit me. Hemocyte slams down, I shoot it some more, and me getting killed as soon it starts resetting after the attack, despite being well clear of the of the blade.

The earlier incidents were some two days ago, in the same run to boot, and the EE.log listed the same attack as being the culprit:

    23:33:55 - <Alighierian> took 3,758 damage at 2,439 health from a level 55 HEMOCYTE using a EidolonLephantisSlamTrig

    23:39:22 - <Alighierian> took 6,063 damage at 2,439 health from a level 75 HEMOCYTE using a EidolonLephantisSlamTrig

  5. As far as the challenges go, I'm actually not even against having a mix of 'casual - medium - veteran' levels of challenges/tasks. The store also has potential, but it likewise has issues.

The way I see it, Nightwave is a failure if you see it as a replacement for alerts. Because it isn't. Gear requirements and such aside, because the wolf credits are limited, you are forced to only buy certain things. As a new player, for example, you'll need a bucketload of nitain. 180 to be exact. Even if you managed to complete the missions and such, that still means you'd have to spend (180/5)x15= 540 wolf creds (or the future equivalents) just to buy the nitain. That leaves you with practically nothing to get other things from the store.

With alerts, you missed things because it's essentially a recurring timed exclusive. With the current Nightwave store you miss things because you're forced to pick other things.

Now, the idea to replace alerts with a store where you can buy whatever from the 'alert pool' isn't a bad idea at all. It simply needs refinement so it's actually worth using instead of just being a pain in the exhaust port.

There are a few ways the primary annoyances could be circumvented, without actually making them easier to get time investment-wise.

    - Bring back alerts, but in the form of currency source: The alert store would list things like it already does, preferably with all the alt helmets in stock, but a limited selection can still work. Alert series levels could be the same as they are now: a collection of various items, from somewhat common to cosmetics to highly unique items like umbral forma. The alerts themselves, however, would be with regular intervals (30m, 1h, whatever fits, as long as it's not too spread out). They would be the primary source of alert store currency but in low amounts/alert. Alert store levels would have chunks of it, as it does now.

    - Make the alert store a 'contract board': In essence, you'd remove nearly all items from the alert store. Instead, you have contracts for missions with set rewards. Think of it as picking which alert you want to do. To do these contracts you'd have to purchase the details with normal credits, with costs scaling to rewards and mission level. Single use only, even if you fail it. There can even be a cooldown on a contract for, say, a forma, so you can get one from an alert, but if you want to get more, you'll have to wait. Items like nitain would have a short cooldown, depending on how many you get per contract. You could use the series level system for either unlocking higher tiers of alert contracts (more items / shorter cooldowns / lower purchase costs / etc), or just use it as a mini-event people can work towards, with missions as we have now. The rewards for that can be pretty similar to what WoS6 has: cosmetics / forma packs / unique decorations / sigils / etc.

  6. eh, I don't really mind. I rarely hit the cap.

I mostly sell syndicate mods for 10p a pop, giving a semi-steady income. If I do happen to hit the cap, I'll just get a key package or something or spend a bit more time trying to sell some perrin and/or loka augments.

One thing I would like, is 'condensating' the rep into a form of medallion, for later use.

  7. Naramon is the best if you like melee, and if you have a reliable way to cause crits. Shadow Step keeps you in stealth almost indefinitely with just 30% crit rate. It's a cheaty tactic, but this game hates melee players so F*** it.

indeed, naramon all the way if you somewhat like melee.

Especially when you're levelling a squishier frame (or the frame is still unranked and thus low on mods) the stealth is pretty useful.

But I wouldn't be surprised if DE completely tosses the trees over and 'fixes' everything.

If you have a tree which you're interested in, just get 1 set for farming focus, no need to slap lenses on all your frames and weapons.

Personally I have a greater naramon on my loki, normal marelok (silenced) and karyst. No rocket science needed to see where I go with that, is there?

hint: it works like a charm on albedo.

  8. it's just a classical DE move.

AI was pretty crap to begin with, with stealth just being one of the obvious ways to see how stupid it is.

Stealth killing an enemy literally 1m in front of another enemy, with both facing one another. Nobody bats an eyelid.

It's just as idiotic as somebody noticing that an ally gets slashed anywhere within 5m (should be more towards the front, and less towards the rear).

I don't really have any hope DE will ever properly fix the AI. Just like other things in WF, it just gets broken in a different way, either by a modification to the system or an overload of useless band-aids.

  9. Parkour 2.0 is pretty nice, apart from a minor annoyance here and there.

One of those annoyances is bullet jump's mechanics.

More specifically: the way it aims where your camera is pointing, not where your frame is going.

The old jump roll combo could be used whilst going 'against' the camera, for quick retreating (from grenades and stuff).

Bullet jump, however, cannot do that.

Could we please have bullet jump NOT bound to camera aim, or even just an option to disable that function, like we can with melee?

  10. Basically, the event lasted for 2 weeks, which is absolutely more than enough for an event to be completed, at least in theory; problem was that it was requiring to login and play a mission almost every day of those two weeks to get 15 points needed for the best reward.

There was no way to speed it up and I think the best score you could get was around 18, so there was no really room for missing more than just a few of those missions.

In a time of the year when it's most likely to be away from home and not being able to access the pc daily, an event like that is hard to be completed.

only the lifeless (like me) and ones without social life can complete such stuff, but that aside, the way the scoring was set up was simply stupid

  11. Personally I'd love it if they finally knocked that forma building time down.

Reactors and catalists (not sure about exilus, never crafted them or possessed a bp, buying them in the market is cheaper) are 24h as well, but these 3 items are 1 use / weapon or frame.

On the other hand, you can need as many as 4-6 forma just to put a fully levelled build on the weapon or frame.

It isn't really a matter of 'but you can also do with just 1', hell, the entire concept of forma is that you can modify your polarities in such a manner that you can fit everything. Only a few weapons / frames / AW only need 1 for a build to work (itzal, for example).

Because of that a 24h building time is just silly. 8h is a lot more reasonable (especially with the loads of forma ordis generally has to pump out. Heck, he might even be able to craft them blindfolded and without bp)

  12. It should work retroactively - please report in this thread once the fix is live so we can assess.

Question: is it possible to make steam retroactively recognize what challenges you've already done? Due to me activating steam after I've already unlocked more than a few in-game, quite a few are still listed as 'not completed' on steam.

The only normal way to make steam recognize it, is by making a new acc and doing it again.

  13. I actually thought Tectonics was made specifically to block choke points and such. It's just large enough for a door/hallway. But it also makes me wonder why a Brawler would want to keep enemies away rather than charge in a punch the shiz out of them.

Just typical DE stuff. Only 1 skill actually gives the 'brawler' idea (the first one I think, the one where you go punch people)

Petrify? What is he, bloody medusa?

    Wall / landslide? Earthbender much

Golems? Yea, they punch stuff. You know what they also do? Punch stuff the brawler could have punched. If there's one thing brawlers want to do it's punching EVERYTHING that looks at them funnily by themselves.

  14. Quest you unlock after completing some in game challenge. So, as Mantis is a "healing" dropship maybe a quick quest unlocks (where you get all of the parts) after you have revived 250 players.

Make it something that you earn, not just another BP from the dojo (or behind a RNG wall).

This would make a lot more sense, and provide quite a change from the usual grind and stuff.

To make it fair, it could be that you'd need a certain amount of heals, revives or whatever from the moment it's released, after which you get the quest for the parts. There could be a modifier depending on previous stuff, so an elite medic / speedresser would need less additional revives / heals / whatever.

  15. Most of the time I play solo so I don't really have all that many people like them, but I do come em once in a while.

I kinda see them in the same light as people who think higher MR equals higher skill. So sick of that S#&$. (not just talking about mr5 vs mr15 or something, but literally mr16 vs mr 18 and stuff).

Worst I've seen was somebody who wanted mr18(+) players for a t2 surv (not even 2h or something, nope, a 20 or 40min run).

In terms of frames and builds I kinda do my own thing. I have a number of the 'normal' builds, but those are pretty much without exception builds I don't mind playing myself (if it's a frame I somewhat like). Stuff like slow / speed nova, duration vauban, etc.

What I refuse to do, however, is absolutely min-max stuff if it requires all slots. I take rush and vitality on nearly everything. Only exceptions are some frames which barely have to move or which I don't really care about and only play once in a blue moon.

It helps that I don't dislike playing the more common frames like frost (especially after the rework), nova, etc. Only a number of the frames I really don't care about / outright dislike. (rhino, oberon, mag, chroma and not too sure bout equinox atm).

Lately I've also started taking my banshee to defence runs and other stuff. Used to be my 2nd fav frame until it got overshadowed (never sold her, though). After the silence buff and the resonance augment I spent some time to get her up and running again.

So far I haven't really encountered somebody who was against my frame choice in the rare mission type I do with a group, probably mostly because I kinda stopped doing t4d/s, absolutely hate interception and don't do raids. Mostly not because of frame limitations, but simply due to not caring about the mission itself.

If I do happen to encounter one of those elitist pricks in a group I'm taxing to an alert or something, they will get 2 choices: shut their yapping mouth or bugger off. If somebody wants to be all elitist with their build and setup, they can keep that to their own builds.

  16. Scindo prime for sure is the best weapon if you really want max damage on your hysteria but really hysteria is more a use for its immortal god mode benefits than its damage

indeed. personally when I go melee with valkyr I prefer to go eternal war scindo P slashing instead of hysteria.

Sure, hysteria is pretty awesome for it's god mode, but you can't disable it at will so if you want to quickly shoot somebody (like a heavy who would take too many hits with melee), you're stuck in hysteria.

  17. the lotus? oh, you mean that outdated, incompetent dork AI who can't even

    - detect ice / fire / etc before tenno are mostly through the mission already, stepped on it a few times, etc

    - detect important happenings before it's effectively too late to properly stop them before they begin

    - shut up for a moment, because we reaaally know what to do in the mission after she said it 20 times already ( in the same mission)

Honestly, if I got an option to replace that PoS along with ordis, I'd gladly go for it.

If the other sentients have the same amount of intelligence as her, it won't be much of a fight after a bit...

(as you can see in the above bit, I really have no love left for that incompetent AI. Better for the story or not, her slow reactions and incompetence would make internet explorer feel proud of its processing speed)
