In my one year I'm just about to crest 4k IN GAME hours, not steam, so spare me the "you don't know the game" speech, it means nothing when I started, it means nothing now, a player's understanding of the game and it's mechanics is not determined by your perception of how much you think they should know.  The only stuff i don't have knowledge about with the game are things that are out of date and are no longer relevant, and even then I have a good chunk of knowledge about that stuff.

If the time you have spent in Warframe means nothing, why even bring it up? Seems like a odd thing to do.

Read up on what an ad hominen is.

And since 2013, what has happened to Warframe's "endgame" content? Void keys got removed, dark sectors got removed, trials/raids got removed, tactical alerts with clan competition and leaderboards apparently got shafted as well. Then eidolons, ESO and Arbitrations were added to the game. Doesn't sound like endgame is being improved incrementally, rather dumbed down incrementally.

Well, there was more fervor than intellect and I couldn't appeal to reason with either one of you so...

There has never been an endgame in Warframe, ever. What you bring up are different game modes, not endgame. Endgame is you beating the final level or beating the final boss.

    Next question?

So now you have no further arguments besides your intial extremely weak ones and you resort to ad hominem? LOL, pretty sad. I have 1.5k hours in WF which I know is a lot less than some people, but it's quite enough to understand the game. I have solo'ed lvl 3k+ enemies with non-invisible frames in endurance runs, I understand the mechanics I'm talking about. Do you?

It has nothing to do with a game mode being lackluster at first. It has to do with the design of the game mode to begin with, and an attempt of compromise that is bound to never please both sides. DE needs to create a niche that doesn't compromise but isn't mandatory for rewards either.

Get real. It is pretty sad is that you read into my comments as criticisms or ad hominems when they are neither. All I am saying, as someone that has been around since 2013 is to have some perspective and be realistic. The way DE does content is incremental.

Still you talk about your hours sunk into the game or what you have gone up against this like it is some sort of achievement or makes you a authority. It is neither those things. Sorry.

I would but it's cold and I doubt my ideas are welcome or they would see more implementation, though they have used at least half a dozen I've suggested  over time, possibly not directly or directly, I wouldn't know.

So you just wanna complain about a Free-to-Play game rather than to take matters into your own hands and perhaps help develop said Free-to-Play game? Gotcha.

That's not the problem at all. It's the design decisions made by DE, which heavily imply they are extremely afraid of using high level enemies, or giving us a challenge that may be even remotely upsetting for newer and/or super casual players. ESO and Arbitrations BOTH could have been the endgame experiences we have been asking for. They both had a lot of potential. A few tweaks here and there and I wouldn't be here having this discussion, I would be playing them. Arbitrations and the no revive rule was a bold move by DE, but then they didn't go all the way and decided to "soften" the blow by nerfing the enemy level and the scaling of the enemies. They tried to compromise between veterans asking for a challenge and newer players (or super casuals). The end result: both parts got upset. The endgame challenge isn't there, and the no revive rule is still pissing people off that just want the rewards but not a challenge.

Both of you have played for almost a year (congratulations in advance) and that any new game mode that gets implemented is pretty lackluster at first, that is news to you still? Oh dear me, you both are like pristine virginal souls, untainted. You are in for a "journey" then.

Again, you're telling me what to do and how to enjoy.  That's a criticism of me, not my ideas.  That's a problem.  Figure out how to not do that in your communication.  Pro hint: if your advice is prescriptive it has not been solicited and is therefore unwanted.  Pro hint number 2; You can use that anywhere in life.

No, it was a suggestion, nothing more. Criticizing you would be like calling you dumber than a second coat of paint. That is criticizing you. Suggesting that you take a break if you find the game stagnant is not criticizing you.

This is a bad, old and tired argument.  You spend money to make money.  De has enough to hire more code thugs, at a certain point (five years and several years with awards) it's not the product it's the management.  They clearly need better organization and manpower as well as dedicated teams to at least update old content.  Some of this is happening, but it's happening at less than a snails pace.

Then why aren't DE growing? They have plenty of job opportunities listed, if you have the skills, pack your bags and move to London, Ontorio. Easy peasy lemon squeezy

Thanks for telling me how to play and enjoy the game, or rather, no thanks.  The content from fortuna was done in about 20 minutes, and that is their fault.  The rest is grinding rep for cosmetic crap for the dojo, which is honestly the only thing I can keep myself busy with in the game at all, and even then they nerfed my dojo, so I guess f me again, right?

Maybe when critiquing an idea stick to the idea and not the person.  It's not my fault de gave me the tools to turn fortuna into a walking simulator, that is their fault, their game, their design, and I am right to criticize it provided it's done so constructively.  You however, are not right to tell me how to play/enjoy the game.

I am telling you to relax, you have played the game long enough to be informed enough that Fortuna never was going to be a full on expansion on release but a incremental one. If that translates to criticizing you, you really need a break.

Totally agree with OP, bravo 👏

The sad truth is that DE seems to have made some honest attempts this year at adding endgame (call it high level or veteran if you want) content to Warframe, but they have failed and missed the mark most of the time:

    1) Tridolons: I won't discuss those, it's kind of hit or miss depending on who you ask. I like them and I think it was one of the best updates of the year, but I know many people dislike them. However I will agree the only challenge from eidolons comes from the time gate component of the night cycle and speedrunning them because of that.

    2) ESO: Horrible implementation, I think most people would agree on that. The terrible efficiency drains make failure something that doesn't depend on your efforts, it's out of your hands, you will simply fail because the game mode wants you to fail. Not to mention broken map spawns aggravate this further. On top of that the efficiency drains also enforce this very strict meta of playing a few nuke frames or spin to win loadouts.

    3) Arbitrations: So much potential, all gone to waste. This is the one that hurt the most for me. Because I really liked the drones and no revive rule, I wanted to love this game mode. But DE is so out of touch with their veteran community, that they decided to give us an "elite" veteran endless game mode where the best part of endless missions (which was fighting the high level enemies) got butchered by a limp scaling and a nerfed starting level below even sortie 3, and the worst part of endless missions (having to stay there for several hours) remained. So basically I can have a higher challenge by playing regular endless missions because the enemies will scale much faster there. In Arbitrations, 150 min = lvl 240, in regular endless, 150 min = roughly lvl 650. Like wtf DE.

DE seriously need to get more in touch with their veteran community, maybe even with the mechanics of their own game at that high level of min-maxed builds.

The crux of the problem is, DE is a relatively small game developer with less than 200 employees, located in London, Ontario. DE doesn't really have either the resources or manpower to push out content to occupy and engage players that isn't just pure time sinks such as farming for standings with the various factions. Although it looks as if DE is hiring, London, Ontario, while modest in size, lacks the social amenities on the level of a major metropolis such as San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle or Toronto that would be as attractive to new hires.

First that isn't exactly possible if you happen to run a large Clan what you started doing out of boredom because there's nothing else to do in the game.  Second I shouldn't have to go play another game to be able to enjoy Warframe.  I understand your point but it's a very bad argument to make.

I don't see how it is DE's fault that you have no other option but to start a clan out of sheer boredom. They just launched Fortuna, which is also going to be another incremental release, so learn to pace yourself or find something more constructive to sink all that free time of yours into. It was a suggestion, not an argument. I am not trying debate the issue with you, I was stating a fact.

  10. Personally, I find endgame to be a misnomer for something like Warframe as endgame implies that you have reached the final stage and after that, there is no more. A more fitting description of Warframe's content would be reaching each and every milestone in the game.

Now, if you have passed all the milestones in Warframe and you wonder where to next. Why not take a break or play a different game?

Yes Excalibur Umbra is better than it's prime counterpart but Umbra is mediocre, given to everyone that did The Sacrifice for free.

They are the same, with mirroring stats and I wouldn't call the ever so tiny difference between radial blind/radial howl what makes either frame better or worse. The only real difference, a difference that matters if you will, is that Umbra have the new polarities but again, not really something that makes Excalibur Umbra as better than Excalibur Prime.

Umbra is nothing more than DE's solution to the problem that haunted DE ever since the founders program ended.

  12. Spoiler

You can play as Umbra during the quest but after you have "upgraded" Ordis with the vitruvian and rebuilt Umbra, if you re-select Umbra after the cutscene of Umbra breaking loose and you peek into his memories the game locks you out from doing anything like accessing the menu through escape or typing in chat windows. While this is not a crash in itself, you do break something and you have to forcibly exit the game. Relogging solves the issue and you can continue playing as Umbra if you so choose.

Doesn't explain it imo. Here, for example, we have founders fighting over if Umbra is better than Excal P. 😂

Please do not insinuate that I am trying to pick a fight with Bigamo because I really am not, I disagree with him as should be obvious from my posts and I think he is blowing things way out of proportions

  14. Just now, Bigamo said:

not a solid argument? it is  FACT. Umbra have a unique polarity that makes it directly stronger than exca prime.

That doesn't make Umbra Excalibur stronger. Because as far as I know, and do correct me if I am wrong here, the umbra mods are not exclusive to Umbra Excalibur. You can put them on any Warframe you like and that includes Excalibur Prime. Of course, you'd have to sacrifice something to get it to work but hey, life is full of compromises.

Now, if the mods were exclusive for Umbra Excalibur, then I'd agree with you because then you'd have a valid argument.
