  1. Okay so, I've been on permanent burnout. Yes, I mean permanent. Ever since the burnout started, I've never been able to get back to the game since I fall under the category where either any further progress isn't really worth the effort (I guess it's nice to forma something for more mod capacity but I'm not sure whether I could be bothered to get a slot have a certain polarity that'll cost me up to an hour or two of very repetitive gameplay OR I guess it's nice to have all the weapons but why would I bother with repetitive gameplay leveling up weapons I'll never use for damage or even for fun) or everything I have is already pretty much as top notch as I can get them to and there's no real incentive to get other lackluster weapons up to level.

Every time I come back from a burnout craving some Warframe, I install Boot Camp (I'm on Mac), I install Warframe, I load it up, log in, and find myself quitting halfway through the first mission to end up walking around my ship again.

Which is where my question comes into play. I kinda want to uninstall Boot Camp entirely to free up storage on my Mac, however I feel like the next "major content update" is just around the corner, and that as soon as I uninstall Boot Camp entirely, Warframe's gonna have new stuff to do and that I'll have to reinstall absolutely everything again. I've seen the trailers for the new open world darker, borderline Lovecraftian setting with the grown up operators as well as the New War or Second War or whatever it's called and I've seen the railjack demo/gameplays, and I'll be honest, railjack doesn't interest me personally at all, the new open world Lovecraftian setting seems heavily plot related but the actual gameplay seems destined to be what Fortuna was to PoE, 80% copy paste gameplay with reskins. The New War or Second War thing is quite obviously plot driven, but I can know about the plot from YouTube.

I dunno, I feel conflicted in whether I should keep hold of Warframe now since its still functioning or free up space for other stuff but risk missing out on potentially immediate content updates. But ultimately I just don't see how Warframe can feel fresh again.

  2. Honestly you just need to see whether it has synergy with said weapon and your playstyle. For instance if a Riven gives a ton of status chance and duration on a crit based weapon it's probably not that great. Otherwise, things like reload speed or zoom is largely up to preference and playstyle.

If you're looking to sell them, you'd wanna focus on the damage side of things, people don't tend to find like, -999% reload speed or +10000% zoom rivens attractive, they much rather +% damage or +% crit chance/damage etc.

Though for melee Rivens, range can be quite valuable.

Loki's pretty damn close to being that way too if the speed reduction's a problem for anyone who tries Ivara.

But Loki absolutely needs to break stealth, Ivara with energy restores is functionally permastealthed. Even if you run out of energy you can still stealth quiver yourself to break prowl to restore energy.

That being said though, I'm not longer at a point where I need to rush anything, in fact I really do enjoy taking Warframe slow solo. Makes a massive difference when you just chill and take the game relaxed compared to pubs where everyone's tryna flaunt their numbers and parkour speeds.

  4. Depends on what you wanna play for.

Most of the frames I use are for solo play specifically for moderate timed run & shoot missions such as exterminate, survival and sabotages but I still prioritize fun (which technically is up to preference). Due to this, the frames I use 80% of the time now are Garuda, Khora, Mag and sometimes Oberon. In one way or another, these are self-sustaining frames that are relatively balanced since I personally don't go above level 35 often if at all (casual here). The only major exception would be Ivara since her permastealthing ability is perfect for casual roaming of the open world maps or for spy missions.

But if you're looking for specific mission types, Frost, Gara and co. are all excellent for defense type missions where you're relatively grounded and don't really get to traverse a big map.

If you're looking for a generalist frame that can take you through the star chart, then in a sense that'd be up to you. Either no single frame can be a generalist or all frames can be generalists. Noteworthy frames include Saryn since she kills absolutely everything in the star chart with ease, Inaros because nothing in the star chart can kill you, Ivara because well, honestly, if you're crafty with Ivara, you're not only functionally unkillable, you're essentially playing on god mode (albeit move a tad slower)

Something that does interest me is the supposed purpose of all those Orokin coolant towers. There are huge bundles of tubing that seem to decend into the depths of Venus. In my opinion, the terraforming of Venus is actually the side effect of a more sinister Orokin project frozen underneath Orb Vallis. Perhaps Nef Anyo’s meddling will result in more then just thermal fractures, but perhaps I’m just reading too much into what is probably just an extensive terraforming network.

I will say that one aspect that sort of disappoints me are the large ominous-looking craters that dot Orb Vallis. If concept art/descriptions are to be believed, the gold orbs at the focal point of said craters are used to create floating “coolant glaciers” that then crash onto the Venusian surface. The coolant from these glaciers is then sucked up by the coolant towers to help regulate the surface temperature. Kinda lame since the craters themselves look quite spooky in my opinion, especially Harindi Crater.

There’s also the large smoking/sparking Sentient wreckage that can be seen off the coast of the Plains of Eidolon. Perhaps it could be the remains of the original Sentient that terrorized Cetus? Or is it simply one of the many scars left by the Old War? Regardless, the fact that it showcases constant activity much unlike the other Sentient corpses we have encountered, and the sheer scale of the wreckage itself greatly intrigues me.

Sorry if any of this fuels your anxiety OP.

Reading this gave me another idea/speculation/comparison. What if this "coolant" liquid has a similar origin as that yellowish liquid thing from Knowhere (from the MCU)? Like this coolant liquid is actually pseudo-biological material from these ancient, assumed dead beings from eons ago?

I linked this as a size comparison in my reply to someone else's reply above but it definitely does present some more imagery as to how "mining" this liquid from "deep under the ground"/"into the depths of Venus" could be plausible. Now again, no Warframe lore knowledge here, I'm sure there's already some kind of explanation for why Warframe's Venus is iced over when Venus is supposed to be the hottest planet in the Solar System, but what if it may be connected to such beings (assuming they may exist/have existed at some point)?

I'll say this, the anxiety more or less comes from the initial exposure to such gigantism of the structures of Orb Vallis, and tie that in with how immersive Warframe is and how high you can go in Orb Vallis, results in a more "eerie" reaction rather than outright blunt anxiety. Now I'm just engrossed and fascinated by such speculation since I can let my imagination run free...which may be ultimately pointless since all this speculation stems from my lack of knowledge on Warframe lore anyway. These pillar things could really just be buildings or towers and have always just been inanimate stone structures which would completely defeat the purpose of this speculation but I'm doing it just for the sheer fun of it.

My good sir have you not seen the jordas golem or even the lephantis?

If you take that specific Orokin pillar circular structure thing behind the Orokin Dig Site as just a component of a potential "being/AI/robot/thing", Lephantis and even the Jordas Golem would be dwarfed easily. I'm talking about a scale more similar to let's say, the Great Spirit Robot from Bionicle (ok maybe a bit smaller).

Here's an example as to what kind of size I'm referring to.

  7. I'm not sure why I wanted to share this but I personally feel compelled to.

Recently I got back to Warframe after a big break from it and decided to give Orb Vallis a more chill and thorough exploration with the only two frames you can really use to explore open world areas without much interruption: Ivara and Titania. I came across a massive Orokin broken pillar structure just behind the "Orokin Dig Site" and after viewing it from various different angles, whether by climbing it or flying around it, I couldn't help but feel a very real unsettling feeling about the massive structure.

I must massively commend DE for making Warframe such an immersive experience. I may not have an extreme fear of heights but standing up high even through a screen and falling down still gets my gut uncomfortable; even if it is for a few seconds. However, just seeing such massive structures made my mind wander.

Now, I am in no way invested in Warframe's story/lore outside the obvious so I don't really know about Orokin technology or culture so forgive me if this, 'structure' already has some background/history, but seeing the structure gave me a thought. What if these structures were massive Orokin mechanisms or even more insane, parts of massive Orokin beings? What if those structures were the arms or legs of massive ancient Orokin giants that roamed the lands? I know Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire didn't really do too well but for those who have seen it, imagine those stone giants but in Orokin form and that by somehow triggering some kind of technology certain Orokin "structures" come to life out from the ice and snow? Perhaps the mechanism was some kind of old ancient weapon of mass destruction on a scale that could rival Halo.

Perhaps I like to immerse myself into game environments heavily but I genuinely had that sense of sheer panic at the thought of such a gigantic, colossal being or mechanism coming back to life. We faced bosses that were our size, we faced bosses that were larger than us and only just with the release of the Plains of Eidolon, we faced bosses that towered over us. But this one's different. This one, if it were to come to life, would seriously shake the grounds and could genuinely be a planetary threat; and that us, whether in our orbiter or our Warframes in Orb Vallis, no matter how powerful; hell, no matter how well modded, doesn't even come close to what may be such a massive being. And again, when these structures are supposedly "left in the ice", we all just assume such things are dead or long broken and lie in ruins permanently.

Again, this is just my own imagination running wild but honestly, just the thought of it gave me the chills. Now in retrospect it could easily be some kind of Orokin building or "spaceship" but at least for me, picturing it as perhaps part of some ancient enigmatic mechanism or being seemingly lying there broken and frozen in the cold of Venus is far more intriguing.

Man, it's nearly 24 hours since I last slept. I should probably sleep. Sorry if this was a weird read.

Than why come back? Just play something else?
In the past I've played a lot of Diablo III. If I go back to it now, I just shrug and wonder why I started it up again. Simply had enough of it. So I don't play it anymore. So if you feel the same way about WF, why keep coming back?

I keep longing for the days when I had fun. It's gotten to a point where it's probably best described as nostalgia. What I may have been in love with isn't Warframe, but my memories of Warframe.

If you're permanently burned out of the game, at that point everything will tilt you, just don't force yourself on a bad experience. Take a break, come back after half a year and it will be fresh. I have my account for 3 years but for every 2 months played i have 2-3 months break, that's just how this game works.

If you're able to get back after a break then that's not a permanent burnout. I've taken so many breaks and every single one of them for a reasonable amount of time. Every time I come back I have zero incentive to do anything

So, since you had nothing else to play for, you literally created a "Challenge" for yourself and then after failing that challenge you supposedly want to blame the game mechanics...does not make any sense IMO.

Where the hell did you get "created a challenge for yourself" from? 'IMO' you've been reading too many of those 'Warframe isn't hard I want a challenge - then go make your own challenge' posts and didn't bother actually reading my post. Me passively farming with Permastealth Ivara was supposed to be a chill experience like I used to on the plains. Me using the K Drive to get from place to place was simply a form of transportation. Me randomly dying out of nowhere with no warning and no consistency? Yes, I believe I can blame the game for that. I didn't do anything to put myself in that experience.

  11. Spend around 5 hours (like, 5 hours in real time) just going around exploring and passively farming for miscellaneous resources around Orb Val (permastealth Ivara just going around caves and buildings etc) and knowing that K Drive gets you from point A to B far quicker than running, I decided to K Drive from places to places.

Here's what tilts me enough to push me over the edge to just give up on Warframe. Note that I really don't have much to play for anymore since I'm suffering permanent burnout as well as being a 'victim' to the 'why use this when you can use that'. Time to time on my K Drive I literally instadie to 'something'. I don't know what's killing me, but 'something' just literally instakills me with no warning outta nowhere. On my last revive I was heading back as fast as I can to Fortuna to 'save' my resources that I gathered over the course of 5 hours and just as I get near Fortuna another random instakill thing just instagibs me. No warning, no nothing. I just die out of nowhere.

What the hell is this? I already have nothing else to play for but this definitely is sending me over the edge.

The mastery process itself is empty and unrewarding as heck, for a series of tests that range from brainless to mildly entertaining for 2minutes.

It’s a pity that load out slots, daily standing cap and trading is gated behind a process like that.

Don't wanna sound like a greedy S#&$ but the only thing that would probably motivate me to level up MR would be like 300 to 400 plat. That's how boring it is, I would only do it for something equal to real life money.

Actually scratch that, I might not even do it for that amount of plat since I would have no use for it.

@deothor No offence but ehm .. are you telling us that you playing a very grindy (or at least time-consuming) game and actually dont enjoy/like the grind for new Stuff? Interesting. 🤭

Why should we bother grinding for something that'll be forever outclassed? I didn't need to level something like the Furax, why would I bother going back to level it now? Yes it's new but it's worthless, you don't gain anything from it. You only lose time and resources, unless you're okay with playing the same level again and again for hours doing the exact same thing.

  14. I made the mistake of starting this game by doing all the research I could on "what are the best weapons during x stage of the game".

Now I'm like MR16 or 17 and I have absolutely zero incentive to level up some S#&$ty Vipers, Ankyroses or Karaks, like I already have weapons that are leagues better than them, why should I bother? I still have like 9 to 10 MR to go to full but why should I sit through painstaking hours of doing the exact same thing to level something that'll be forever outclassed by what I had since the first half a year of playing?

Actually, you can do it faster than half an hour using this method.  Also it works for all weapons and not just melee.  Just slap a silence mod on the weapon and go for stealth kills.  Might have to sleep the enemies first so as to not end the multiplier on the first shot if the weapon sux.

It's significantly 'nicer' for melee than primaries/secondaries, I can't be bothered and usually I just run out of ammo but that's just me being too lazy to build ammo restores

  16. I will say, personally Nezha would be the perfect frame if it wasn't for his passive. A lot of people like to slide around and even mod for more sliding but the delayed friction and slipperiness feels like input lag. Once you start running and sliding you can't really stop or react quickly like other frames. Perhaps that's just my preference since I like to move around a lot and sliding everywhere is like trying to walk on ice. In other words, you may have movement/mobility issues like Limbo having his dash as a mechanic or Ivara's roll during stealth.

  17. Depends on what kind of gear you have. The only 'universal' way to level up faster would be an Affinity Booster, doesn't matter whether you're using the best strategy or the worst strategy to level up weapons, the Affinity Booster will always give you far more than without. The only "other" 'universal' way to level up faster would to unequip everything (and I mean everything) except for that one weapon you want to level up. Careful if whatever you're trying to level up has bad ammunition economy though; melee weapons or 'rechargeable' weapons won't have this issue as you can never 'run out of damage'.

Otherwise, if you're fairly new, I'd suggest sticking to public defenses. Not only will most if not all of you be 'huddled together' for the affinity share, but you won't be the primary target the enemies will be going for. If you do this solo, you'll have less enemies and less enemies to kill means less affinity.

If you're able to, get someone with access to Akkad to taxi you there, Akkad is probably the 'standard' defense node for this kind of leveling up. Most people either go there or Hydron but it's up to you. I prefer Akkad since you'll be fighting infestation rather than Grineer. Again, totally up to your preference.

Only real 'exceptional' situation to all this would be if you have a permastealth Ivara build with an Affinity Booster and you specifically want to level up a melee weapon. In that case, head to Adaro on Sedna, the Extermination mission and you'd be able to level it up to 30 in one run and you definitely don't need to stealth kill all the time. I've goofed up plenty of 500% stealth bonuses and still was able to level it to 30 by the end of the mission if not above 28. Tip for others, if you wanna keep forma'ing a melee, do this. You can level it to 30 within half an hour.

This one is actually resolved by using the same methods I quoted above.  That and remembering that you can shoot the power cells of the underwater fans to stop them.  Itzal is also the perfect AW for spy missions.

I can't remember the last time I ran public spy missions yeah, also I just so happen to like Itzal for stealth and got it before I actually came to Uranus entirely so I guess I still had an upper hand in learning

I think they are unfun but.. they are fast and not hard at all. And no, watching "walkthroughs" is not mandatory at all. I can assure you that most of the playerbase has never watched a video about spy missions (maybe with an exception of the sealab and kuva fortress ones since they are really bad if you don't know where to go).

The Sealab one is truly aids. I decided to learn them the hard way and honestly my god are they aids. However it's not so much about them being a new tileset or them being a spy mission, but the fact that it requires sharkwing. Sharkwing and Spy Missions do not and should not go together.

Besides, Uranus tilesets are like bugged 80% of the time lmao

Far be it to speak for myself lol ... what ever a tilt post is I have no idea thats all in your head...tbh I think your just trolling  ... *shrugs" as your post actually has nothing constructive in it.

Would suggest from comunity perspective to not bother posting at all if this is all your going to post as a suggestion.

However, thanks to the other who actually replied constructively. I don't expect any of the mission to be easy the 1st time, the difficulty it a moot point, but I would like them to be fun and not so critical of a single mistake, I'm sure there's guys like Mosaickle and xstatic900 who just walk though everything with there eyes shut with no problem, though they seem totally oblivious to being new to a game, kinda sad really they do seem to lack empathy for anyone but themselves *shrug*

Patience with good game design I have always have had, patience with design that makes the task a chore much less so, its all about being engaging, not frustrating, just because there repetitive doesn't mean they have to not be  enjoyable, no doubt they will become predictable, there just not the most user friendly when starting.

A tiltpost is a post someone makes when tilted by something, whether that be toxicity or game balance or whatnot. If you think I'm just "trolling" then you don't know what trolling is. Trolling would be intentionally making someone elses' mood lower relative to theirs so the troll can feel satisfaction knowing their 'mood is relatively higher than the person getting trolled'. If I were to troll you I'd simply say something classic like 'git gud' or something like that. You're speaking like you're a new player and thus the only spy missions you'd be playing would allow the mission to be completed even with just one retrieved data. Besides, the most obvious 'learning method' would be to study the actual spy tileset you just failed. Your post made it seem like once you fail a spy mission there's absolutely no other way to progress other than to alt-tab the game and go on YouTube/other general third party sources. That's how I learnt spy missions, I fail them, take a look around at what I triggered or who I aggro'd or whatnot. I'm flattered by your passive aggressive remark on my (non-existent) ability to walk through everything with my eyes shut. However much I'd love to have that ability, that's really not how I progressed through spy missions (or any other game). I don't 'lack empathy for newbies', I just lack empathy at people who blame the game design despite knowing that there are other ways around it.

Although there's some aspects of Warframe that are quite newbie-unfriendly (modding for instance), there's still a large part of Warframe where the potential for fun/enjoyment is from discovering things yourself. I remember there was this one Warframe review that covered this, where you are taught to run and soon sprint, jump and crouch, and eventually you're going to accidentally press jump while sliding and find out that it's a feature, sooner or later you're jumping in the air and want to aim down your sight or block and discover that you glide through the air for more distance. Of course fun is subjective, but honestly I can't stop doing spy missions because they require more than just being 'god mode' all the time (e.g. exterminates, survivals, endless missions etc).

Either way, in probably under a month you'll forget about your frustration you had from learning spy missions. They're very much a one time learning mechanic. Once you learn it whether from trial and error or searching up external sources, you won't need to learn them ever again. That's why I made that reply, because this frustration as a newbie with spy missions is not only very relatable, but also so minor when you sink another month or two into Warframe in general. In half a year or so you'd forgotten you made this post entirely.

So honestly, just keep playing. I doubt spy missions will cause you to quit Warframe; if you keep playing this problem will naturally disappear. Besides, this post ain't gonna cause DE to change the way spy missions work anyway.

  21. This reminds me of myself when I was just starting WF. Guys don't worry about this guy, he's just tilted like I was when I failed my first spy mission.

To OP, honestly you know for a fact this post was a tiltpost you needed to make to reassure yourself that your first few failures at spy missions weren't on you, but on the game. You're not worried about the game, you're worried about your confidence in game. All the other gamemodes you've played through were hard to fail and suddenly hitting this one tainted your player confidence. Just know that spy missions, aside from getting from point A to B to C, is probably the least 'normal WF' gameplay since you can't "hack and slash" your way through spy missions. They need patience, a certain amount of patience to learn and execute, a certain amount of patience you'll feel unwilling to display for the first few spy missions.

So to OP, honestly just keep playing, we know this ain't actually enough to make you quit.

And to the rest of the people, don't worry about him, he'll be fine.
