I find the current system acceptable.

I've long realized that there is zero reason to own a godly riven, let alone rivens for good/meta weapons. Thus the only ones I ever buy from others rarely cost more than 40p and I now have an excuse to gather Kuva to roll it. Plus when I do unveil any good or meta rivens I can freely sell them to the less enlightened.

Warframe also isn't the first game I've even played with rng based grind systems so getting bad rolls on Rivens doesn't even phase me. Seriously the grind to get a "godly" riven is nothing compared to mandatory grinds in other games.

So all in all it's a system that has made my fun weapons more effective in all content that doesn't require more refined set ups and has only made me platinum in selling the good rivens I've gotten and had no use for.

I agree with this, buying rivens for low plat gives you a reason to grind kuva, think about it this way... if you just put modifiers on the rolls so we get what we want, rivens become worthless. The economy of rivens is already pretty high for godlys or rivens that are hot cakes (think rubico) but how much easier could you possibly want this system? If you're having trouble farming kuva I can understand your point.... but then again its my opinion that if you cant do the content you're not ready to reap the rewards.... this game is pretty damn easy already.

  2. lol at the guy who's never heard of redlining so he educated himself but got the wrong education.

    here you go:

redlining. In word processing, redlining refers to marking text that has been edited. Typically, redlining is used when two or more people are working on a document together; each individual can redline the text he or she has added or edited.

this forum is a collective of text in which we can quote eachother, thus he was redlining.
  3. exactly my point, and im glad you agree. The rewards are weird because newbies who cant really even utilize umbra forma yet are basically stock piling the it until they even finish their war within, then vets are getting forma, and cosmetics they already have, and yet the umbra forma they do need they have to grind for. everything seems backwards. I dont like grinding for resources i dont need.

  4. Well, see... there in lies the issue.... its not the "rewards" per say that is justifiable but the exclusive tenno skin you grind for. Its a long grind, and its worse for a vet than for a newer player in my opinion. its so easy to be carried through the content by a vet that a new player seemingly gets all the stuff and its fresh and new for them. For vets this game is mind dreg due to the grind and gaining nothing of value until rank 30

  5. I think I clearly outlined my thought on rewards based on the type of MR player/tenno you're dealing with. I recognized that certain rewards are almost useless for an end game vet. I am around MR 24 and i consider myself an average player. Not hardcore by any means, but ive been around for a while. Ive worked my way up, bought some plat, grinded some levels and forma'd a lot of gear. Now because we have a very specific meta for warframes/weapons there are certain weapons that I know I will never use because they offer me nothing better than the current meta weapons/frames.

So the problem is something like..... I grind for the end game seasonal content for rewards that offer forma, nitain, credits for aesthetics, I already have plenty of.... where the only thing that could possibly be a new addition to what I dont have is LITERALLY the end game seasonal reward.

New players need these items, I totally understand that.... but why am I grinding for resources I no longer need? there needs to be different scaled rewards for the missions you can (and should be expected to) do and the missions you cant do.

  6. I really like the rewards system that nightwave has in store for us per season. It gives vets something to aim for as well as gives new tenno shorter term goals for some of the much needed supplies for the longer grind. I think however that things for newer players should be separated from nightwave.... just my two cents.

I would prefer defense-50 or survival 50 mins like the first season when we had that hour long kuva survival. It not only rewarded us for it through points in nightwave but the kuva was a great addition considering kuva is a very end game resource.

It really sucks to have to grind through a week of nightwave for forma, or nightwave credits for aesthetics you dont really need since you have collected them all from alerts back in the day. Why not bring old alerts back for the new players? Things like Nitaine, and forma vets have no use for later on.

  7. Are you guys mastery rank 30 saying this stuff? How do you not see that even as a high MR your still lose out on more nitain/reactors/cata's, and making the choices to get orokin reactors/catalysts and the choices when you are a new player getting into this game is not always clear.

However looking up information about the game can give you clear goals (only after you've found out building something takes 3 days) and and understanding of what you should be f. arming/grinding.

The sad part is that you decided to get the nitain on those creds so you have to wait weeks before you can get creds for another orokin cata/react or just straight up buy one or wish for armada because your gimped your warframe/weapon.

  8. @everyone

I think you guys are being a bit too picky and harsh about someones use or lack of punctuation. Not everyone goes to school to be learned as such, AND in fact only 65% of the U.S. goes to college after high school.

ENOUGH facts, and to get back onto the OP's original meaning behind his post. He finds Nightwave to be a welcome addition, but misses the alert system because it wasnt such a grind, and didnt force players into doing content of the game that required a better PC than a 450 dollar dell lap top to play on. There are a lot of players including my GF and my RL friend who do not posess a gaming PC because they are filthy casuals. They avoid the plains, and fortuna like the plague. However, Nightwave shoves it down your throat and makes you do the grind anyway because if you want your Orokin Reactor or Catalysts/Forma/Umbra Forma/Nitain/free slots. You need to be part of the systemic grind that IS Nightwave.

I agree with the OP on this...

Even though I play everyday at least a few hours to sometimes a total of 5 hours a night I still feel for people like my Girlfriend, my best friend, or the OP in this case. Some people want to play the game casually, and still be able to obtain the good stuff....

  9. I know I mentioned this in a post earlier about the kohm, but what is the interaction between Punch Through, and the AI spectre? On the wiki it states:

    Quote
    • The clone benefits greatly from using weapons with innate Punch Through such as the Phage and punch through mods such as Metal Auger or Shred, it helps the AI of the clone to identify and lock on to enemies quicker. The punch through will cause the clone to ignore all obstacles in its vision based on what it can shoot through (The range of the punch through of the weapon used), which will prevent the clone from awkwardly trying to peek around a corner or trying to reposition to kill an enemy that is hiding behind a small obstacle.

This is the part that really catches my eye.... So more punch through = faster target aquisition? am I reading this right? Or does that simply mean that the base 0.6 punch through is 'innate punch through' and we dont need anymore for the spectra because that satisfies a criteria to be able to shoot through obstacles? I am trying to get the spectre to not ignore enemies 2 ft from him as they walk right past him.

I would drop Seeking Fury and use Primed Point Blank so you can have those other three options available.

The problem with doing this... is that the AI spectre becomes even more of a tard.

this ^ was grabbed from the wiki, however it's very true... haveing 4.2 punch through compared to the default is the difference between night and day

    • I don't know the variables on punch through for the ai spectres tracking to go from meh to amazing but it seems to be right around 4.2 punch through.... the duality spectre finally operates like a living turret mowing down anything that is within is sight and behind a wall he can shoot through. anything below and targets can walk right past him, and the delay of enemy tracking becomes obscenely present. So for me, using equinox anyway.... thats not an option.

  11. I am trying to Min/Max the damage of my kohm with what I have to work with:

I currently have 3 dual status mods (depends what I need to fight against ill switch one out to make corrosive/viral/magnetic/gas) + my 120%status-200%dmg riven

    shotgun spaz (self explanatory)

seeking force (Because I mainly use equinox duality)

    hells chamber

and then that leaves the last mod which i consider my "Optional" mod..... but for more damage I am unsure of which one is most practical so here is the list:

Primed Charged Shell (more elemental damage)

Primed Point Blank (more raw damage... however I think Diminishing Returns makes this not a valuable option)

    Accelerated Blast (Pew Pew faster)

Seeking Fury (Cuz the Duality AI is a tard so more punch through helps + reload speed is sorta nice)

    Blaze (elemental + raw damage)

and finally .... Vigilante Armaments (Multishot 60% to bring the total to 180)

no good at math, where are my mathematicians?

  12. since the crit chance and status chance on this weapon are great both going a full red crit build or full status chance build are both optional, however I do think the weapon feels better geared for crit but not build hybrid. If you are going to build the weapon you need to stick with one or the other for min/maxing damage. but yes Heavy Caliber and argon are great on amprex (and a must have for red crit) you could also try getting your hands on an epic riven even after the riven disposition nerf they are still fantastic.
