  1. Ive been thinking about the ways Operator gameplay work, and the way the abilities synergize for awhile. Ive longed to see a 3 & 4 ability to be added to the focus schools, but with there being 5 schools thats 10 new abilities to balance on top of the 10 existing ones. Something Ive been thinking about instead, is the idea of mastering a single focus school, then being able to use that as a backup school while learning a new one. How it could work, is once we have a focus school with all its nodes unlocked and fully ranked we can sink a few resources into the focus tree itself (say 5-10 brilliant shards or whatever). Doing so would allow us to use that school as a secondary school. As a secondary focus school, it wont take in any focus from missions, all that will go to the primary one still. Itll also let you use that schools 1 and 2 as your new 3 and 4 ability, allowing you to pair 2 schools ability sets together at time to define your own unique playstyle. In addition to that, having the secondary focus tree's abilities would allow you to pair some abilities or perks across trees that might synergize well that you wouldn't be able to do otherwise. For example, pairing Zenurik with Namaron would allow you to pair Sling Stun with Disarming Sling. Or you could make your own perfect offensive/defensive build or defensive/support etc my mixing Madurai with Unairu, or Zenurik with Unairu etc. This would work to make Operator/Drifter combat feel a lot more personalized. Ultimately, Id like to see Operator/Drifter combat be able to be a compliment to Warframe gameplay in the star chart, and have focus mastery be optionally available. By slowly building up your operator/drifter through focus, you're warframe loadout is always going to outpace what your tenno can do, but I think that your Tenno being the living weapon should mean that once we're trained fully we should be more devastating than we currently are. Fully maxing a focus school can take awhile, so by the time you've mastered a school and are using it as a secondary your Warframe loadout is already capable of late game content. I think being able to use 2 focus schools would make Tenno gameplay a lot more viable in the late game. What do yall think? Would having access to all perks from 2 schools be too much? Should it just be the activated abilities? Or do you think the resource and time sink to get to this point would make it balanced enough to warrant using 2 at once. Comment down below, share your thoughts.
  2. Honestly I think joining Puddle and Wave would be cool, but if any ability gets cut Id like it to be Barrage. Even with the augment its weak asf and imo inconsistent. Id rather him get an exalted canon to blast enemies, and change the augment to work for the canon. Afterall, *@##$es love canons! (iykyk)
  3. I disagree. While they may not actually canonize the story to Warframe (though with Eternalism and alternative timelines they definitely could), a lot of the story beats have been reused. Hayden Tenno was infected by the technocyte, which is also the name of the virus that created the Warframes. His skin is in Warframe as the Proto-Excalibur. In WF 1999 Arthur seems to be sick and has an Excalibur body, which is likely from the technocyte virus. Which is the same that created Umbra later on, with the transference bolt and a Dax soldier. This whole idea gets away from the original post though, so Ill just leave it at its not canon yet
  4. Okay admittedly I shouldnt have said that, Im just really tired of hearing it. As for when I started playing, it was just before Nekros was added back in 2013. 10 years ago. I was exclusively on Xbox One then and eventually moved over to PC. And yeah, I know about the time before Second Dream was added. However, DE has been making Warframe a long time. Their original attempt was Dark Sector, playing as a human; Hayden Tenno. Over time they've been trying to slowly tie their games together (now we have the announcement of WF 1999 which would be about 20-30 years after Dark Sector which took place in the 70's IIRC). I think its fair to say their plans for Warframe's to be an extension of the actual character have been there since the beginning.
  5. Honestly I dont mind them doing something completely different to what I suggested. I think making him a support frame could be cool, again I really want Undertow to heal Hydroid and potentially Allies standing in the water. As for the Canon, I dont really see them adding another exalted ability to balance I just really like the idea of a huge fekken canon to blast at my enemies. I also just wanted to see what other people would like to see happen to Hydroid. The next Idea I had was for him to be able to extend tenticals from himself like Ben Hargreeves. It kinda reminds me of Grendel in a way since he splits open to vore enemies lol, but instead of voring them he'd just nab them up while running around.
  6. I wanna bring up a discussion about something I've heard hundreds of times over my almost 10 year history playing this game. The idea that this game we enjoy is about Warframes, exclusively. It's simply not. It never has been. Narratively, the game has always been about the TENNO and not their Warframe. Every time DE has added gameplay mechanics to enforce the narrative of the Warframes being tools for our Operator/Drifter theres been pushback from some people going "Its warframe not ___frame". Same happens when some of the community theorizes about the Tennos becoming powerful warriors and growing up (for example, wanting the Drifter to have similar combat in the star chart to Duviri/TNW). The concept of Warframe as a game has existed since Dark Sector. As such, its never been about the warframes and Im so tired of people using the title as some sort of weapon against DE to argue why they shouldnt evolve their game. Its infantilizing. It happened when they added Archwing, Operators, Focus Trees, Rail-Jack, Drifter, Duviri etc. Im certain we'll hear it again when WF 1999 drops. Im almost at the point where Im going to unironically bully people that use this phrase because they obviously have no idea what the game is about (Im just being dramatic, not being serious). If you want Warframe to be solely about the Warframes then dont do the Second Dream or any quest afterword.
  7. I just get angered to no end when people use that phrase. Its infantilizing to DE, like they arent allowed to evolve their game. Warframe is based on Dark Sector, which they're slowly trying to make canon to Warframe. They added the Proto skins for Excal, Nyx, and Glaives, as well as skins for rifles, pistols, and shotguns calling back to their old game. People saying that literally only want the game to stagnate and stay their idealized version of the game: not the vision DE wants to bring into fruition. And honestly, I hadnt even thought about the WF 1999 trailer when posting this but 100%. That gameplay was slower paced than Warframe's even though it looked like Excal. Youre completely right, thats a DRIFTER that has the technocyte.
  8. Okay so they announced another Hydroid rework, and hes getting a new ability. I wanna hear what yall think they're doing for him, and Imma say here what I hope is gonna happen. Personally, I kinda like abilities 2-4. I dont want them changed, unless its like stat changes to make them more viable/damaging. Undertow could do with some healing imo. I think the ability that needs to go is Temp barrage. Its so bad, even with the corrosive augment. I think they should shift each ability down one making Tidal Surge his 1, Undertow his 2, and Tentacle Swarm his 3. For his new 4 I want a canon. He's a pirate, pirate ships have canons, and b*tches love canons. Im thinking like an exalted Zarr but better. The Tempest Barrage augment could be repurposed for the canon making its base damage corrosive.
  9. Imma also address the idea that "its warframe not _____" DE has been making this game longer than Warframe has existed, and has implemented gamemodes that have NOTHING to do with the idea of Warframes to expand on the lore; look at Railjack for example (which are powered by Wally, and some of the original space crafts capable of void travel but we wouldnt have gotten to know that WITHOUT Railjack). IN LORE, the Tenno are devastating warriors. WE are the weapon. NOT the Warframes. The Warframes just help with our lack of experience and control, but as they flesh out the story more, and more, we have gained more experience and more control over our abilities. It simply just makes sense that eventually we wont have as much need for the flesh suits and instead will become super powerful warriors ourselves. We're not gonna stay 12 forever. Them adding Drifter was PROOF of this, so those who say "Its warframe not ___frame" have been saying it since they added Operators (which by the way, they DIDNT just stop at implementation: We then got focus schools and then reworks of said schools to make them more enjoyable). I dont see it as a matter of if its a matter of when for Drifter to get real combat. You're in denial, and drinking copium because DE and the rest of the player-base think its #*!%ing awesome and you dont.
