Looks cool, I have to admit but even like that, some will be easier to aquire than others. They will still not represent your global progress in the game.

And at some point, if they want to add more ephemeras, they will have no other choice than make them obtainable via the same principle. They will never have any significant value.

Hardly anything in this game shows the player's progress. Even hoarding and maxing a lot of gear doesn't mean you've played extensively as it can be done quickly with the right tools at the right places. Back in the day I remember MR20+ players that knew nothing outside of (old) Draco or similar nodes.

No, these things don't have any significant value, as nothing in a videogame really does. Let's face it, WF is a game for people that like hoarding and collecting things - extremely low drop rate rewards are the perfect bait to keep this playerbase running, and the replies here are proof of that.

While i can play perfectly with a years old arsenal, that's not the point of the game at all. It relies a lot on player's obsession of obtaining X item, getting the newest thing, completing their gear progress list, or keeping up with whatever the latest dps meta is.

As an old player it pains me to see that old promise of reducing the grind has fallen into the Void. However I can understand to a certain degree why devs do this - if you got what you wanted relatively easy, you would lose interest more quickly (This has a lot of philosophical background, feel free to look up about desire) and they want us to keep playing, the main pretext for these absurd rates (while not as absurd as korean mmo rates) is that the stuff isn't critical for gameplay. On top of that, players constantly whining for new content/endgame/something to do also pushes them into coming up with something to keep us busy. New game content isnt something you put in the microwave and serve several times a day, it all takes a lot of time and development.

There comes a time when you gotta decide if sticking to such repetitive and unrewarding tasks is actually worth your life time. I myself find it harder to do with every big update like Fortuna and Cetus - the amount of time you need to invest to "clear" everything is tyrannical, even for someone used to the crushing pressure and oppressive darkness of grinding.

For the record I support OP's initiative - make relevant stuff progress based, and add to that ridiculous rng little things that sweeten your game every once in a while. Hardcore players will eventually get tired of everything, regardless of what they implement.

I am one who leaves missions when i notice there is a Banshee on the squad in Hydron. And its not just with Banshee, any frame with Nuke potential is a turn off for me to do Hydron missions with.

Hydron's purpose is clear, get the most exp/affinity in the less time possible. People don't go to hydron to have fun, try weapons or w/e. Most of my hydron squads are people that often bring full arsenal of level 10 or less. If you're looking for "engaging gameplay" or w/e it is, hydron is definitely not the place.

Again, this is another example of how DE (and a few vocal individuals) wants us to play vs how we need to play to get anywhere in the game.

  3. Suggestion: remove them or at least make them rare.

Reason: this is probably the most broken riven challenge I've seen. Not only pilots are expelled in somewhat random directions (and sometimes you lose sight of them among the dargyn debris) but also even if you do kill them before they touch the ground, it doesn't count for the challenge for whatever reason. On top of that I've seen it count the kill when killing them on the ground. The added while aim gliding reduce your options even further. The increased presence of dargyns has reduced the pain a bit (used to wander for long periods without any spawning) and if it's night that means very low chances of seeing them (even bounties didn't spawn them).

I've shouldered quite a few of these but after my last 3 rivens where dargyn-before-ground-while-aim-gliding i was impelled to put this thread up.

For those struggling, I've had better luck with mag+polarize+vectis p.

Currently I have been just running around with loot detector, theifs wit, and animal instinct on nova using wormhole to get around pretty quick I catch about 3 wisps per run I also have a booster so around 6 per run and if my kavat goes off then like 10 wisps.

Was just wondering if there is a better method than this it isn't that bad the way I am doing it now considering I need like 60 wisps for to build a amp.

That's what I do as well, it's slow but by far the most efficient.

When plague star comes around I buy a lot of them from nakak as well.

Instead of trivializing the game for yourself and your teammates which only serves to make the game boring in the long run, you'd be better off suggesting DE lessens the grind so it feels like less of a chore to get something.

How about instead of asking for nerfs left and right, ask more for grind reduction. People don't trivialize for the sake of it, it's just to get past a certain part of the game that would otherwise be even more cumbersome.

Well, no. This is a Game. Devs Should balance the game right so everyone can play and have fun in the way they want.

Well no, fun is extremely subjective and if I've learned something in these 5 years, is that DE will never please everyone. Some of the biggest uproars have been a result of the devs giving in to these nerf fevers and/or trying to please both sides of a given topic.

What I do know is their "nerfing priority" is removing stuff that makes possible AFKing to a certain degree, hence what happened to frost, ember, banshee (who might be hit again) and many other one trick ponies we had.

-Somehow I end up with an Equinox in most of my games-

Play solo, with friends or recruit. While some balancing is always good, I don't see why particulars' opinion of how the game should be played has to dictate how everyone has to play and I don't see why they have to nerf down everything so it all does equal dps. The real issue at hand is WF is a game that implies a massive amount of grind, and most reasonable people will look for the path with least resistance to achieve their goals.

    - Is this game really so addicting you want to get to pull the lever on this slot machine over and over despite the actual gameplay just being a cumbersome hurdle? -

For me actual gameplay is fun, i like being a powerful super agile future ninja (?) laying waste to hordes of evil guys, or sneaking past them and looting their bases or foiling their evil plans. Where the problem starts is when you need to do it a gazillion times just for a chance to hit something with 2% drop chance, to expand or improve your arsenal.

Personally I do meta until I get whatever goal I'm set for, then swap to my fun builds for everything else. And I don't even mind if meta players join, since I end up carrying most of time, a change of pace is often welcome.

ESO is pretty flexible, you don't really need to go full meta to keep constant 100% efficiency, but often you have to make up for subpar teammates or stupidly big tiles with bad spawns, so I can see why people constantly go trin/equi/bansh for that task.

  7. I don't see why this would be a positive thing. I'd rather have a weapon that will consistently deal 100% of it's damage, rather than an arbitrary % that's hardly controllable, considering how quick most of the action becomes a hack n slash meat grind fest.

With most melees and with auto targeting, and specially with Stalking Fan, you lunge and get right in front of the target(s), staying at the minimum range would mean my scythe would have a 20% penalty, just 'coz.

  8. While leph can be annoying, hiding and throwing toxin, he has clear pink glowing weakspots in the best zelda fashion. So even if he's stomping you, you have an idea of what you should be doing. Same with the jugg, his belly is basically a big HIT HERE target, as it happens with Ruk. I'd say Hek's first form can be confusing, but at least you can clearly see the dmg numbers when he opens his face.

Lech kril in particular is not as easily noticeable, specially given the myriad of visual fx (specially if you land a couple procs on him) but again, since most people overcome him with raw power (pretty sure many a tenno kill him without knowing how they did) it seems unlikely they will tweak anything.

I'd go further: whatever enemy drops, goes to rewards screen and you see a note what has been obtained. Like with minerals on PoE, they go directly to inventory once you destroy their container.

Such a thing would promote afk leeching/semi leeching (something disgustingly common) even further. Glad it hasn't been implemented.

Conclave, in its current iteration, is the most balanced its ever been. People ARE on even grounds right now. -

Not really when the few users it has completely obliterate anyone trying it out. Same with lunaro (in the rare occasions i found people there) and while it's possible to git gud at this point I can't care enough to take that learning curve

  11. The relic UI is just fine. It shows you in real time what's in and the % of getting it. If those weren't in many people would need to yet again pay a visit to the wikia.

Someone's salty because they aren't getting exactly what they want from the relic runs.

  12. Have you been in the index? they go in a bunny hopping frenzy if you happen to be near a ledge with levels up or down. Like they try to get to your level but they can't quite figure it out so they keep going back and forth, up and down , add the occasional spazz dodge and/or lag and you'll get some rather hilarious combat scenarios. The speed of their ascend and descend is weird as well.
