  1. I honestly have no idea why I did this.

    AMA I guess?

Disclaimer: Forma predates challenges by for over a year and I was around back then, so unless that challenge was retroactive there was a period in 2013-14 I could have used forma without completing the challenge.

It is really frustrating, and gets really old, having to build one thing at a time............. It seems better to just have a limit on how many things you can have building (not completed) at a time... Need to build ten fieldron? Build ten fieldron, you just can't build anything else while it's doing it.

    I'm very confused by this.

Yes you have to build fieldrons and some other items one at a time which is annoying, but you can build as many different things as you want

  3. I just did some testing and it seems Sharkwing is what breaks it.

As a test I started the Sycorax exterminate mission where the mission starts on a normal on foot tile and my Tombfinger kitgun worked fine, but there was an underwater section after which it stopped working, it seems that on Rosalind you always start in sharkwing, so the mission start breaks it.

  4. While I'm liking all of these changes, I have to say my biggest problem with the Miter wasn't stats but mechanics.

Even though it shoots out a big disc, the hitbox for it just a point in the center of the projectile, I've experienced the disc flying between an enemies legs, or under the armpit and the blades on the rim touching them, but because the center of the disc didn't touch them, they took no damage.

And I think it needs to have a slightly different charge mechanic, taps fire a single disc, charged shot fires a burst, with the number of shots in the burst dependent on charge time.

  5. What does the addition of Riven mods mean for the damage rework? What's the current status and what details can you share of the damage rework?

Void, ship and underwater tilesets all have their own version of the sabotage mission type, but the planet based tilesets still use the old version.
Will we see a rework for planet based sabotages? Will the Derelict also receive its own sabotage mission?

Concerning the weapons summoned by warframe abilities (Exalted Blade, Artemis Bow, etc...), have you considered allowing players to mod them directly, rather than have them "borrow" mods from equipped weapons?

It's been a long time since we've had a warframe lore entry in the codex, do you have any plans for more?

Will you add bonus mission objectives for bonus loot, like the cache search from sabotage, to other mission types?

Will the Corrupted ever get their own weapon models, instead of reusing the Dera and Strun?
If they do, will we have access to their weapons?

In the codex some enemies have awesome panoramas while some are just an unit staring at a wall, can we get more panoramas please?

What happened to that gwent-like card game?

Have you considered making weapons that have Chroma's mechanic of energy color determining damage type?

Have you considered revisiting older weapons and giving them mechanics similar to Dual Toxocyst and Lesion?

Any plans for introducing Void Spy?

Any news on replaying quests in general, not just Second Dream and The War Within?

Long ago, Marelok was supposed to come out as a dual wield weapon, but due to some animation problems it was released as a single weapon, have those problems been resolved? Will we ever get a Twin Marelok?

The accuracy stat in the arsenal is somewhat misleading, even deceptive at times. Can we have a clarification on what it means?

When can we expect a new synthesis target? It's been a while...

  6. There actually isn't an upper limit on how much a reroll can cost, which I consider to be a very, very bad thing. Rivens are very random, even in the already unlikely situation I get a Riven for a weapon I want (so far I've only gotten them for weapons I don't care for), rerolling several times and getting bad stats every time, means I can pretty much give up on that particular Riven and hope to get another one for the same weapon. I don't feel like spending an hour grinding kuva so I can roll the dice one more time in hopes of getting good stats.

  7. Solo, invite only and friends only options work great and don't need any changes, this topic is only about public matchmaking.

Right now when starting a public match, players have no control of what happens. Click on the node, and what happens, happens. This can lead to some annoying circumstances, as an example: joining a syndicate mission mid-progress, after the host has already picked up a few medallions, the ones picked up by the host won't show up for the players spawning in, meaning they lose out. Not a big problem, but a problem nonetheless.

We as players should have some control when starting public match. I propose a few changes:

When the cursor hovers over a node, a little menu appears, (dropdown/radial, whichever you prefer) that has 4 different options, each doing a different thing:

    • Quick Join - similar to what we have now, start looking for a game in progress to join. If none are found, a message appears saying so and that's it.
    • Quick Host - immediately start a countdown to begin a mission, players that selected Quick Join will join during the countdown and after the mission starts.
    • Host Lobby - first real change to matchmaking, open up a lobby without the mission starting and where the host is given a few options. For example, the host can give the lobby a description (e.g. "Meso fissure trace farm, repeating runs, no relic needed" or "Excav 2k Cryo") and restrict players from joining after the mission starts with the Quick Join function.
    • Find Lobby - opens up a list of currently open lobbies and their capacity.

Both Quick options are current matchmaking divided into two separate options so the user has some form of control of the process.

Lobbies on the other hand should make it easier to find players with similar goals without having to go to recruit chat.

  8. This is the last enemy I need to scan to complete my codex, but they don't spawn anywhere. The regular version only spawns on Phobos - Kepler, but I've never seen an Eximus version there. According to the wiki and comments on this forum, they only spawn in defense missions, but those are no longer available in the normal startchart, only appearing extremely rarely in the form of alerts.

Can Quanta Ranger Eximus please be added to Kepler?

  9. While several issues I had with Riven mods have been addressed in recent patches, there are still things I don't like about them:

Increasing reroll costs with repeated rerolls - While I'm not too keen on the idea, if you think that makes the system better, fine. However, please implement an upper limit on how much a reroll can cost. You mentioned "the perfect roll," RNG being RNG, that may never come. If a player has to spend 10 hours farming kuva because the previous 50 rerolls were duds, it's just going to frustrate them and make them more likely to give up and not bother with the system.

And something I've noticed is that most people (myself included, though that may be just my OCD) really dislike completely random numbers. I think tiered stat bonuses is the way to go.

    • Example of what I'm talking about (these numbers are just for example's sake, don't take them seriously):
      • Damage bonus stat comes in 3 tiers, Tier 1 gives 10% damage per rank, T2 2 gives 15%, T3 gives 20%.
      • This can be made to work with the disposition system by assigning a point value to each tier of stats and having disposition dictate the point value a riven mod can have.
        • Example: T1 is 1 point, T2 is 2, T3 is 3, rivens with strong disposition can have 7-9 points worth of stats, neutral 5-7, faint 3-5. So a strong disposition riven can have 3xTier3 worth of stats for the maximum 9 points or it could have 2xT3 and 1xT1 for the minimum 7 and any combination of stats inbetween. Similarly, a faint riven can have 3xT1, 1xT2 + 2xT1, etc...

However, regardless of the Riven mod system, I'm left with concerns regarding future reworks of the damage system.

  10. What does the addition of Riven mods mean for the damage rework? What's the current status and what details can you share of the damage rework?

  11. My worry is, what happened to damage 3.0?

There was a some talk about getting rid of mandatory mods and instead damage increasing with weapon rank. Scott even said on a devstream there is a working prototype that "feels good," I was hoping that those changes along with rebalances of older weapons would be the way to address the handful of weapons dominating the meta.

Now what? Has the whole idea been scrapped? Or are those changes still going through?

So game economy and weapon modding has been killed, can't wait till they introduce these mods to warframes. [+50% sprint +250% armor +550% health] will be so good.

I think I had something like that in Closed Beta. Along with a 500% multishot, 10m punchthrough, 200% damage Gorgon.

    Fun times.

  13. I haven't read this entire thread, so I apologize if I end up repeating a lot of what's already been said, but here are my problems with Riven mods:

    Randomness:

If the game is designed around random weapons, okay. But Warframe isn't, one of its great strengths is consistency, my Serration and everyone else's Serration is identical, the game is balanced around that. This messes everything up. And don't even get me started how some unlucky folks end up with Riven mods for sentinel weapons.

    Rerolling:

    • Rerolling changes everything except the weapon restriction. Sentinel weapons. Need I say more?
    • Increasing reroll costs with repeated rerolls. Why?

    Suggestions:

    Add some limitations on RNG.

    • For a start, no sentinel weapons. I think that's obvious.
    • Rework rerolls:
      • Allow us to reroll the weapon restriction
      • Reroll cost doesn't increase with repeated rerolls, instead we can lock parts of the mod (stat or weapon restriction) so it doesn't change with rerolls, locking things increases reroll cost, locking multiple things increases cost even more.
    • Restrict how crazy stats can be with tiered values rather than purely random ones.
    • Example:
      • Damage bonus stat comes in 3 tiers, Tier 1 gives 5% damage per rank, T2 2 gives 10%, T3 gives 15%.
      • In addition to tiered bonuses, give each tier a point value and don't allow mods to go beyond a certain number of points.
        • Example: T1 is 1 point, T2 is 2, T3 is 3. If the maximum value a Riven mod can have is 8 and the maximum number of bonus stats is 4, that would mean that you can't have 3x T3 stats because the value would equal 9 points, but you can have (4x T2 = 8 points), (4x T1 = 4), (2x T3 = 6 points), (2x T3 + 1x T2 = 7) and so on...

    Then there are other issues:

Trading veiled mods: there is no indication that the mod has been rerolled, and if it has, what it's for. It's very easy to be scammed by being given a mod that the previous owner unveiled, saw that it was for a sentinel weapon, and then rerolled it.

Balance: there has already been tons of discussion on getting rid of mandatory base damage mods and replacing those with weapon damage increasing with rank. On a devstream Scott even said they have a working prototype of that. What does this mean? Is damage 3.0 dead?

Frequency of acquisition: loot games like Borderlands and Diablo work because there is a steady stream of loot, getting a bad drop is no big deal because getting more is easy. Riven mods on the other hand are restricted to a non-replayable quest and a once per day diceroll. Not to mention the 15 total restriction.
