That's not new and have nothing with the changes. I still don't know how is it a problem that you have to press WASD or space in this game.

Mostly because I didn't have to before, for that action, and the reflexive keypress habit just wasn't forming (literally, I'd just stare at the frame like "You get up now, right?").

So I just use Handspring now.

  2. That’s the point though, @Marine027 — not many weapons have innate blast, so you build for it only if you want it. Most weapons have impact, so they end up sucking if you’d like to hit what you aim at.

Blast should knock things down, and impact should rattle the enemies’ aim. It’s backwards now, and I still wonder what decision process let it get that way. It would have been fascinating to be a fly on that wall.

  3. 100% of the time prior to this change I simply waited for the Warframe to get up automatically when knocked down, and I see zero reason for that now to be interactive. I see no merit in that change, as opposed to leaving the default behavior and just adding the “git gud” option for techrolling.

I see no benefit in removing functionality when the higher-skill option could have simply been layered on top.

If you can’t understand it, I can’t help you further. I don’t know how to express it better than that.

I feel like the full knockdown animation should have an auto-stand trigger if no directional buttons are pressed after maybe a second or so. I'm sure it's just something we need to get used to over time, but since it's been a set animation for so long, I honestly keep forgetting that I need to press a directional button when it happens now (it usually happens on accident because I'm already pushing buttons when I get knocked down).

I agree -- it's funny, but now that they've removed* auto-standing, I'm feeling pushed to use Handspring on all my builds. I never needed it before, because the frame got up by itself after a couple beats, which was plenty fast for all activities in the game. Requiring interaction for something simple like getting back to your feet seems like a misstep to me; I'd rather it still happened after the usual time and the tech-roll just let quicker players shortcut that.

    * Or significantly delayed it.

If you look at that SS, 5 dots filled, means rank 5 straight away from the store

Counterpoint: aren’t mods shown maxed from vendors, despite being unranked when you buy them?

I think the question remains open — do you get a rank 5, or a rank 0? Maintaining some parity with eidolon runs (or at least not maki g them thoroughly obsolete) would suggest rank 0.

  6. While I'm fairly sure the staggers are here to stay because the dev crew thinks it's genius, the "laying on your back and doing NOTHING" is hopefully not intentional. In another thread, a poster said that after 15 seconds, the frame will get up, but that seems like a seriously overtuned delay.

I've never seen the "tech-roll" indicator either (I have no proof it even happens) and while I'm fine with the tech-roll being there for players who are fast enough to use it, I'd like them to return the getting to your feet to the original delay it had prior to the game update (I'm not sure what it is, about 3 seconds?). That leaves the tech-roll for the players who are really quick, and the normal, previous experience for players who prefer to just let the frame get up on their own.

In the interim, I've a) incorporated Handspring in all my builds now, and b) basically just avoided playing much.

It also shows that it's still pretty new to Warframe and is just one part of it. I have a Railjack and for now I'm waiting for improvements or getting people interested as I don't bother with randoms.

I’d argue that they want it to be part of Warframe in the larger sense, but really missed the mark when they needed a hit.

I have a fully maxed out Railjack, and feel like that was enough. No real interest in taking her for a spin again.

edit: as for it being just the “intro,” as it were, I agree that was DEs aim. But it’s exceedingly primitive as a game experience, and it would need fundamental changes in complexity, flight model, mission structure, and enemy setup to be interesting again.

  8. The difference between Hema and Railjack is that the railjack costs were pretty reasonable right from the start (since you're building, you know, a spaceship) while the Hema...well, let's say they really crapped in their supper dish on that one.

The signal to hit jump is a flash seemingly on the chest, upper arms and upper legs of your warframe, in your chosen aura colour. Pick an aura colour which doesn't match your base Warframe colours.

Another realization I just had - I may not have noticed the tech-roll indicator because I'm usually not looking at my warframe - I look at the enemies and the environment; the warframe is kind of "there" in my peripheral vision but it's not what I'm concentrating on.

Actually I'd like to see mission failed screen way more often coz warframe is so easy I forget that thing even exists.

It's not quite the same, but if you abort, it at least says "Mission Failed" at the rewards screen.

The "justification" seems to be "technical issues." In order to implement the new system for recovery, DE seem to have broken the old one. Just today, I realised this affects more than just players. I was doing the Index for the Nightwave Challenge, and noticed one of the Brokers flat on her back for a good two minutes. Eventually I walked up to her, ground-executed her, then got the option to stealth-kill her. Seems like it's not just our Warframes - enemies too sometimes fail to get up. It may be something in the mechanics, it could also be something in their animation sequencer.

Out of spite, a friend of mine lay there on his back for 15 seconds, and THEN his Warframe got up on its own. So it still happens, just on a serious delay. This tells me it's more likely we're looking at a bug than a feature. All we can do is raise awareness and hope for a Hotfix on Thursday, or at least some official response. Because yeah - I don't really see the design goal of a change like that, if it's intentional.

Fifteen seconds, wow. However, that explains why Handspring still works (I was wondering, when I equipped it, whether it would even work -- if the frame can't get up on their own, then getting up 160% faster means nothing). So it sounds like the frame is supposed to get up on its own, but they've just put it on a "go get a snack" delay. Weird.

  12. My feedback for the tech-roll echoes some of yours:

    1. I’ve never even seen the supposed indicator for the jump, but I’ve heard that it’s 167 milliseconds long—and I’m just not that fast. The window needs to be at least a half-second and the indicator needs to be something unmistakable, like a giant arrow or the word JUMP flashing on screen.

    2. Auto-recovery needs to be restored. With the issue in #1, I have to use handspring or just not play. I’m not sure what justification they had for removing it; skilled and quick players will still be faster to their feet while slow old guys like me can just have the status quo.

your the one acting like it cant happen

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a suggestion, no matter how reasonable, is always in want of someone to pop in and say it's a problem with the proposer.

I think the point here, though, is that if pressing a button to get up is your breaking point, then chances are you've passed your breaking point long ago. Minor things annoying you enough to make you quit is one of the most reliable signs of severe burnout. I'd highly recommend taking a break from the game at this point. Even if you can get over it and stick around, chances are you won't enjoy your experience.

Oh definitely — I’d already dialed back my time to about 15 minutes a day some time back; I’m just gonna drop to roughly-daily logins to keep the counter advancing.
