  1. The mod's useless because the sentinel takes several seconds to scan a single plant and needs line of sight throughout the entire process. That's not going to happen if you're moving around at anything approaching normal rates. So in normal gameplay, it does basically nothing. And if you slow down and stand in place to let the sentinel do its thing, you might as well just use a normal scanner and take a real sentinel which has useful combat abilities.

@DoomFruit What do you think of that? Apparently I pestered someone with my sheer stupidity of not knowing, that Color Correction is our supposedly missing toggle for Exposure. I can't test it currently, but that person sounds convinced, so I thought I'd share it here.

Nope. That's one of the options I toggled on and off trying to find a cure to DE's inexplicable desire to blind us. All it does is tint or desaturate every single colour on the screen when some things happen (eg. explosions), Ceres is the worst example as it's on constantly there. Back when resources came in cog-shaped pickups with orange for normal and blue for faction, you actually couldn't distinguish the two on Ceres, meaning that detonite ampoules looked exactly like anything else that dropped there. That's how bad it was, and it's been that way ever since.

It's a similar effect - the whole screen changing - but it's completely orthogonal because it's changing hue or saturation and not luminosity. I had it turned off the moment it became an option and I never once looked back.

Here's what happens when I activate colour correction and then fight Ruk:

It doesn't do anything about the general screen brightness going up and down due to the ridiculously excessive dynamic range that the rendering engine seems to use internally. The tooltip says "exposure", but that doesn't mean that it actually does something meaningful or worthwhile. So no, I still get headaches when going between the navigation console and the arsenal in my ship because the whole screen gets painfully bright for a brief while.

DE's thought process "If it aint broke, break it and pretend it's the user"

I've lived with the mildest of screen tear during some gameplay as I use a potato PC and gtx960. Since Steve's wonderful choice to keep tweaking lighting effects, any aoe lighting now turns my screen into a broken movie reel effect. These developers need someone to slap their hands when they get the itch to tweak things to their preference.

Or better yet, forcibly apply this tweak to absolutely everything they do on their computer - especially during work. In this case, it means whiting out the screen whenever you minimise a window, blacking it out when you bring one back up and wobbling the screen's global light level up and down every time you select a menu option or click a button. If you can't put up with it throughout the entire work day, take it the hell out of the game.

Same goes for things like the menu screens wobbling around when you move your mouse or the mouse pointer teleporting around the screen if you press a movement key.

Would love some kind of visual clue. Even if it's just subtitles when the operative says, "I'm here!"

That as well. Especially annoying given that this one particular voice clip is not tied to the "voice" volume slider, but "transmissions" instead.

The one that I turned down to zero years ago because I'm bored with Lotus saying the same thing again and again and again.

@DoomFruit Then the change that Liches and according to a friend (because I can't play half the game) the Sisters also flee to space with all the RJ light glory to have a final fight will certainly be a reason to celebrate for you too I guess? Don't know how it works for you, but for me that's an additional kick in the gut and a KO criteria :/
Edit: Additional question... do you own a HDR Monitor or know someone that does? Does it really solve the glaring/blazing issue? Just asking because I've been told quite some times, that such a monitor would solve the autoexposure problem, but from what I've seen so far, it sure doesn't. What are your experiences?

Sorry, I completely missed the @ there.

No, I don't have an HDR monitor, nor do I have access to one. It wouldn't do me any good anyway, since I believe the game needs you to run Win10 in order to have hardware HDR output.

EDIT: and just to stay on topic, here's this week's reminder of "WTF is wrong with your rendering engine"

Tbh for a moment I thought I was looking at a SS of Path of Exile.. Just looking at the picture is making my head hurt -.-

Yeah. It's gotten to the point where if I get headaches pretty quickly unless I do my larvaling hunting by looking almost entirely at the minimap. I suppose it's a good thing that I know the grineer galleon tileset enough to navigate from the map alone. I'd never be able to tolerate all those hours plural of constant Cassini aborting to find that one weapon out of nineteen (more like one out of sixty from the rate I get grattlers) otherwise.

So yes, these graphics are so "good" and "advanced" that I'm better off not looking at them in the first place. Hell, even Gouraud shading would be better than this. At least it wouldn't physically hurt to look at and I'd actually be able to see where I'm going.

  7. Another issue - why aren't there any T5 void fissues in railjack? We've got them for every other tier. I'd even use them - as annoying as railjack can be, it's a damn sight better than the godforsaken kuva fortress.

Well, I'd use them if we didn't have to do corpus BS railjack, anyway.

  8. T5 relics should just be removed entirely. They add nothing to the game, it's just yet another layer of un-necessary grind. Hell, the whole "use cheap crappy Chinese copies instead of actual mods" idea would be better taken out of the game. Why do they even run out of power in the first place?

Just give us a quest when getting our first lich which gets us one copy of each infinite use mod and explains some lore behind what they are. Satisfying for the player both now and in the future.

LoL a rusty spoon. It wouldn's surprize me if that was a grineer spoon. XD

Well, it certainly appears on Grineer maps. Here's what it looks like trying to grind up a grattler lich (using a tombfinger primary and Gauss to prevent knockback from point-blank blasts, it's much easier to run through and kill things to make the larvaling spawn):

    Spoiler

WOW, LOOK AT THOSE ADVANCED GRAPHICS. THAT WONDERFUL BLACK SCREEN.

Truly, this is the way forward. Not being able to see anything is soooo good. The graphics are so good that we can't actually see a damn thing.

Fixed getting stuck in a Glaive throwing loop when using a Glaive that's modded for high Attack Speed.

Can you also fix polearms at high attack speed? They've been broken for more than a year and a half now.

  11. Not to mention that as summer approaches and the ambient light increases, this just makes it even harder to see things on even the "better" tilesets when the screen goes black if you enter a different room.

Seriously. My eyes are already full of defects. I'm already being punished by "high dynamic range" and "adaptive exposure" because the damn sun is shining through my window and making the screen look darker than it is. Why are you shovelling even more on top of that? I thought that warframes were supposed to be highly advanced technology. Why do their optical sensors have this critical defect?

Fixed ability to use the Tactical Menu Teleporting function to return to your Railjack while inside a Corpus Capital Ship.

    • Players must extract from Corpus Capital Ships in order to successfully complete it. Using the Tactical Menu Teleport isn’t intentional for this scenario, and resulted in failing your mission and an End of Mission screen hardlock.

What? Why? All that will do is add yet another layer of annoyance and time wasting to the game. What's wrong with being able to teleport back to your ship from a corpus ship?

I strongly dislike the fact that max Shield is included on Ironclad Matrix.

Currently both my Shield Generator and Engines give me benefits while shields are depleted so I've always built my railjack for hull / armor with as little shield as possible, now anyone coming onto my ship with an aura mod can negatively affect that making it harder to get rid of my shields and I can't take Ironclad Matrix myself to get more Hull / Armor for the same reason.

We should really have an armor focused matrix and a shield focused matrix separately.

Incidentally, the whole "aura" mechanic is also going to bork things if the host builds their railjack for armour/no shields and someone joins who's modded themselves to rely on shields for combat.

  14. Well, looks like Hildryn is actually quite a crappy choice for a pilot, since the "increasing costs" mechanic takes ABSOLUTELY FOREVER to come back down to normal. And since the #3 ability costs 150 energy... at the absolute minimum, this rules out a lot of frames or builds. Want to use Valkyr in a maximum armour tank build? No spaceship abilities for you. Nidus (who doesn't benefit from large energy reserves)? No abilities. The same goes for any other frame which doesn't rely on mass spellcasting spam.

I really do not understand why a 100 metre spaceship relies on a tiny little manthing for its energy. It's got a reactor of its own.

Not only does this not make sense from an internal consistency perspective, it's also telling the players that they must build for frames with high energy storage. You've put a bunch of arbitrary constraints on how they build their frame which are completely nonsensical. If I want to use Ash or Nekros on a ship, I'm actively gimping myself and there's no good reason why this should be the case.

If you're going to have the giant spaceship rely solely on a warframe to power its missile swarms, then why don't you just let us make ten Ivaras, give them energy siphons and flows and shove them in the cargo hold to act as batteries.
