i dont know if anyone else mentioned this...

    the old stalker

I remember a bunch of people (me included) memeing the fact that whenever lights flickered in real life their heart would skip a beat because of their experience with the stalker

Ehhh, stalker was a disappointment for me. Dudes were like “run away! He’ll kill you”. But I just slaughtered him and was like, “🤷🏻‍♂️What’s the big deal?”

Which I have wondered about some new stalker that is part infested. Like a quest where he find the stalker with the other half of the broken war. We end up defeating him brutally like chopping off a limb or 2. And left him for dead. But the infested merged with him since they are “of his flesh” also. And not only enhanced him but they rebuilt the other half of the broken war, turning it into a sort of Mutalist version of it. Then the infested stalker pops up basically saying “I’m back!” Where the Tenno is like “no, he should be dead”. Stalker’s voice could sound a little more clear with a more infested vibe coming from it. And he comes with new abilities and old with a little touch of infested. Like stabbing the ground with his sword to cause 8 infested fungi trails like Nidus to spread out which would sprout infested tentacle at the ends that will try to swipe you like hydroid. Could list like a dozen more but I’m sure you get idea.

But that version of stalker would require completing certain quests obviously AND I think should require being of a certain MR. cause players keep avoiding using and leveling up every type of weapon or frame thus not gaining much rank which leads to them demanding DE nerf things that are mastery rank based or remove MR requirements period because they don’t want to have to level up. But players who don’t actually play the game and gain most of the experience shouldn’t be able to just hop into a more complicated mission.

Plus it could be a way to upgrade the war some more. Maybe all the Formas and catalyst used could also be transferred if that War is used as a material. So people won’t be forced to re do everything on it.

Either way, stalker is garbage. Even when I was using an unmodded Excalibur with unmodded skana, Lato, and braton. DE could’ve done more but if you used to have issues then I guess I see why they didn’t.

I hadn't noticed that myself, but yeah - that's unfortunate. I mean sure - sticking some Infested snot on the floor isn't that important, but it was a nice touch. Honestly, I feel this ought to be the case with all tilesets. Throw in a few props which change their appearance based on who's controlling the node. Grineer in a Corpus ship? Put Grineer weapons on the weapon racks, maybe replace some of the Corpus crates with piles of Grineer junk. Corpus in control of a Grineer Galleon? Replace the Grineer piles of junk with Corpus cargo containers, maybe throw a few Corpus helmets here and there.

But yes - adding Infestation to Infested missions at the very least would be nice.

Also probably have parts of the ships different a little. Like the corpus ship looking more rusty like the Grineer while parts of the grineer ship look a little more cleaned. Maybe show some parts of the walls look like they were messing with the circuitry a little.

Depending on how far DE would be willing to go, the security could be different. Like the laser barriers would look closer like the magnetic fields by the grineer while the magnetic fields look similar to corpus lasers. Could even do a weird combination of both for these unique tilesets where trying to run through them not only knocks you back but you suffer a magnetic proc.

But that would require some big redesigning of multiple things. And you see how long it took before the corpus ship tile set remake finally happened. Wouldn’t be surprised if DE made a grineer based warframe for that kind of update too. Like basically a frame who suffered severe injuries in a war was rebuilt by the grineer to be their sort of ultimate weapon. Thus giving him a more grineer like look and ability kit. Like having enhanced physical capabilities beyond all other frames along with being equipped with like an Exalted Archgun or Turret. Basically the quest would involve this new frame being rewarded by completing invasion quests between the grineer and corpus.

Either way, it would definitely be a much more understandable addition to the game but it would also be a while before such thing can be implemented. IF DE decides to ever go through with it.

They already showed an infested titleset a long time ago that looked awesome.

I know I’ve tried suggesting many different new infested things they could add. Stuff that would make the infested more unique and less boring.

Like imagine the cameras being infested and if they catch you they basically create a screen blurring screech like the Phorid until destroyed. Infested need their own assassin which I’ve tried making 2 concepts for one. The most recent was a Kuva Infused Infested Assassin. Who will turn other factions into a sort of walking infested pod. When killed they burst into full infested and not the typical charger or runner either. Something much more grotesque.

During a discussion about infested in railjack missions I came up with a sort of idea where there are infested hives that spawn what look like big maggots that if not killed they’ll grow into larger, much more difficult to kill infested. Mainly to encourage people to deal with the breaches. But I could see this being used in other missions too. Like certain doors being blocked by them.

But definitely need like a new breed of infested that are pure infested. The Phorid literally just looks like a large red charger. Nothing more. Feel like they deserve more than just a size and color change. With the new Jackal I’ve been picturing an infested version. Mostly cause on the infested ship you stumble across some robot factory where you’ll see pieces of the jackal hanging around. What if the infested got a hold of them?

Then Alad V decided to become infested. What if before he kind of sort of regained his marbles, he created an infested Zanuka? One that has blades spikes and runs much quicker. Which could also lead to a sentient zanuka as well. They would basically replace the typical Zanuka Hunter similar to shadow stalker replacing regular stalker.

We also don’t have infested Archwing, arch weapon, hammer, spear. Those could be introduced during the new releases of infested. Could also see the return of the J3 Golem as an open world event.

Point is, there is a lot of stuff DE could do to expand and improve the infested faction. They just have to be willing to. And the teasers about an infested open world definitely makes me nervous. Me and another guy both made concepts of infested world. Mine was more focused on how the lay of the land would be and the new infested it would be littered with. Along with a new open world infested boss.

I will be extremely disappointed if they make a new open world map but basically everything is the same.

As for the reworked spy vaults:

spy missions, you love em or hate em. Most hate em. For the fear of failure probably (of course it's always the other who fail, right? 😉 )

I can imagine after the Jupiter tileset spy fiasko (in sorties it is) they thought they have to tune things down a little

but now it's barely a challenge the first time you do them 😞

Corpus was easier than Grinner anyway (#*!% those drones) and now they're even easier

I may have contributed to the new Jupiter spy. Lol😝

But I do feel like many stuff needs to be upgraded some to give them a fun challenge. Not all planets but the more difficult ones. Not just additional drones or whatever.

You would think that grineer would have like more traps everywhere to deal with. All those electric traps and and spike bombs on the Kuva Fortress, you’d think their spy would be the most guarded.

For the most part I’ve already figured out all the secret entrances so they aren’t a challenge at all except for Jupiter.

    That's a other story.

As you said, the fun is not to need 2 Rhino Primes, 2 Nova Pimes or to rebuild Frames after their rework.

So DE earns more money because you need 4 times more Formas as normal?

Well, this argument sounds like "I don't want a pay raise, else i would have worked the whole time for too low salary"

People can be mad about everything, every nerv, every buff but the most accept it and maybe like it a little later. Same here.

Sorry, but as far as I understood you right, the most things you mentioned is a prediction of users emotions: Well yes, mind reading is complicated...

Point is, the current 2 universal polarity Formas are pretty much proof that DE has no intention on making a Forma for everything. Otherwise they might as well have done it from the start. So implementing one out of nowhere might be complicated.

Then DE would have to deal with the backlash from many players as a result cause it is inevitable.

Them adding another Forma wouldn’t affect me at all. So I really don’t care. I’m just pointing out the reasons why it may not happen. Or the hints they may have given that shows it.

It also sounds like you’re looking at my comment through offensive lens. As in you’re searching for any implications that I may be trying to criticize you or troll you. All I’m saying that DE has already backed themselves in a corner with the current Formas.

  6. 21 minutes ago, Kohrus said:

Well, I'm not this much into lore, so I would really appreciate it, if you could help me out with an new name.

Well at this point I don’t see the possibility of it ever being made. Think about it. Both stance and aura slots can use a forma. So to make a new Forma that can make all universal would kind of make the others obsolete. Like why have 3 different universal polarity Formas? Unless DE is suppose to remove them eventually. Replace them all with the new Forma for universally polarizing everything.

And so a name for a universal polarity Forma for just the main mod slots on everything... yeah that’s gonna be hard. Other than simply calling it a Mega Forma where it looks like 4+ orokin puzzle pieces connected... I don’t know any names. The others have a name specifically for the specific slot they are meant for. Umbra Forma for only Umbra Polarity. Aura Forma for only Auras. And Stance Forma for only Stances.

Also, how long would it be before new players start wanting/demanding ANOTHER Forma that can decrease the capacity even further for Prime mods?

Like many games where you can’t reverse the choices you make, DE wants this game to be no different. You have to choose what kind of build you want. OR... just build another frame and polarize it differently. I got 200+ Formas. But I stick with builds that provides me the best use of the frame for both solo and teamwork. I actually built a second Rhino Prime specifically as a solo, more armored build. Mainly to use Umbra Mods.

Don’t exactly see the fun in having like 1,000 builds for the same frame. Most of the mods in this game are useless or probably never used by any veteran players(players who’ve played this game long enough to gain expert skill and knowledge of the game). Until DE decide to completely change this game where so much power or tankiness is no longer needed, there aren’t really that many build that can be used.

Also there will be backlash as well. Many players will complain about spending so much platinum on warframe slots and so many Formas polarizing like 6-10 slots for each one, all for a new Forma to be built that could have prevented that.

Then there’s the rarity. Umbra is already a pain to farm for and there’s only 5 Umbra mods so far. If they make this one common then there would be no point in the regular one and all Formas remaining would need to be changed into the new one and all the polarity slots be changed to universal. If they make them rare, then people will complain like they already do for Umbra Formas. Probably 100x more cause it would be most wanted Forma in the entire game. Used for like 1,000 mods vs only a handful. Unless DE decides to change the uncommon Formas in relics into the new one. Like why have common and uncommon Formas in relics? Then it would have to cost like 4 or more Formas to build just so the old ones don’t become useless. Which will make impatient players even more impatient.

There would be a lot of factors DE will have to consider. And no matter what decision they make, people will be mad. Veterans will feel like they wasted so much while newbies will act entitled like they already do.

It’s a lose lose situation for DE. Best not to keep pushing unnecessary things that will put more pressure and stress on them.

Also the purpose of the current set-up is get people to keep playing. If the entitled newbies had it their way, this game would be over in like 3 days. Players want less grind(me included), more powerful mods, better Formas for better builds. Etc. etc. Also the impatient ones are what keeps this game alive. How? Cause they are the quickest to spend money on this game to get what they want sooner. If DE made it where everything can be achieved so quickly like many are demanding, they’ll lose profit which will slow the game’s progression down drastically until it just gets canceled. My patience allowed me to reach max rank(without Excalibur/Skana/Lato Primes) with over 10k platinum. I had to grind a lot but in the end it was worth it.

I’m just saying that it is way more complicated than you may realize.

  7. 12 hours ago, Kohrus said:

During the last years more and more primed mods found their way into the game.

So to get an optimised build it's necessary to Forma all modslots.

Here's the problem: maybe you get a new riven with a different polarity or you want to play a Warframe with a other ability, so you need to Forma a Modslot again and again.

    So heres my suggestion:

there could be a "Forma Prime" or what ever you want to call it.

A Modslot with a Forma Prime reduces the capacity costs for Madurai, Vazarin and Naramon Similar to the Aura Forma

One Forma Prime needs to be crafted out of 4(?) Formas, so the normal formas still keep their worth.

Maybe there can be an Exilus Forma too?

I would apreciate if u think about it.

Definitely can’t be called Forma Prime. Why? Cause Prime means first. As in the first version. Orokin appear to be old and they invented the warframes. Which is why they are all called primes since they are made from orokin technology. Forma is also of orokin origin. So it couldn’t be a prime cause technically it already is.

And you’re not the first one to make this post. Aura mods and stance mods I could understand why they eventually made a universal polarity Forma for them. But clearly they have no intention on make a universal polarity for the entire frame build. Otherwise it would be OP. Especially if they keep adding more Prime mods.

Most of this stuff is just unnecessary. Players can already reach level 200 enemies with the current set-up. DE needs to be focusing more on lore and bugs. Not unnecessary buffs to builds.

Maybe PVP just needs a reboot 🙂

and theres salty players anywhere u go in warframe. No reason we cant enjoy or attempt a fresh experience 😇

As long as DE makes sure to remove as many bugs as possible AND give some PVE type rewards. And MAYBE make it similar to index where players will be replaced with bots if not enough show up to participate. So players aren’t spending hours waiting.

Could see things like the fighters being Tenno ships based on the host’s Tenno ship. Ex: if the host uses the scimitar, than the ally fighters will be scimitars.

Could see goals where the objective is to destroy the opposing railjack. Which would mean a few things being different. Like maybe the more breaches the railjack receives, the lower the over all health becomes. Until it eventually just gets destroyed once it reaches to a certain specific amount.

Other goals could be trying to take over a base. Which will force players to leave their railjacks for a new battlefield. The railjack could provide some assists like being able to use Air Support from the Host’s Tenno ship. If the base is successfully taken over, then the owners can destroy the opposing railjack much more quickly.

Maybe an Archwing sling shot could be used to infiltrate the opposing railjack but you’ll have to be willing to sacrifice one of your lives. Cause once the entire crew is killed, then game over. So you’d want to do it quickly. But once inside there would be a jammer preventing you from escaping. Only way out is through the actual entrance which would take a little hacking to to unlock. So a player is either sacrificing a life or better hope that the opposing crew is too distracted.

Basically a lot of rules to give people an equal chance not to mention insuring the match won’t take super long for those who may not have the time.

    Aw craps.

The more curious question, what would his prime look like? Like Derelict(prime) Nidus I picture a more armored frame with infestation growing out of the cracks. Like he was the first attempt of a frame, if you know their origins.

This Frame got me picturing their first attempt at making a frame powered by the void energy roots we see powering up the railjack, the back where the Tenno pod is, etc. His body couldn’t handle the energy which caused it to shatter but the void roots holds his parts together. While the regular one is literally a void Frankenstein Remnant of fallen frames. Thinking a name like Zanto. Which means remnant in Japanese.

Either way, definitely got me curious. Kind of picturing something similar to Zaws and Kitguns for his weapons. Weapon parts scattered about that we have to gather and build to be his. Maybe the barrel and/or blade is his actual part while the rest you choose. Be something that could deal void damage that bypasses all protection and resistances. And really hurts the sentients. Be nice to use something other than the Tenno, paracesis, or Umbra.

    Just my opinion.

I'm picturing Infested enemies/bosses in Railjack having "breach seeds" as boarding pod equivalents where the impacted site actually spawns obstructing hard growths that can block off doorways or halls and periodically spawn Infested maggots, requiring you to destroy a number of glowing nodules randomly spawned about the growths in order to "kill" the Infestation and remove the obstruction.

Oh god, you got me picturing some gross looking infested mold that spits out some large looking maggots that if not killed immediately, they mutate into something much larger and more gruesome. And they block off breaches where in order to destroy them, you basically have to burn the nest which will open up the breach to be sealed off.

Ever since the new mod, rubble heap, got released on PC and i've been trying to test whether i'll be able to keep up 1500 armor, let alone reach it in the first place.

And it damn near impossible in shorter missions.

And is very annoying in high level missions.

I keep getting hit and i am loosing health, which means every rubble i collect will heal me instead of adding armor.

I even tried using Rumbled to be invulnerable, but i'm out of mod space, and using rumbled is not a good choice at the moment

    Please rework Atlas' passive.

Well my method is spamming his fourth with casting speed increased and energy efficiency at the start of the mission.

so i've been throwing this around on ps 4 but i have an idea similar to how the jordas golem some giant infested thing but the only way to damage irt is from the inside.  so imaging an infested deralict or orokin tower that reached critical mass and is now sentient as a whole.  you would not be able to damage it with arch weppons and you would have to hit pressure points to make it angery till it grappled the railjack at which point you would have to use several things you could shoot it till it lets go you could use front faceing artillery to knock it off or you could use the slingshot to knockit off how ever you do it you wpould stun it and at that point you can enter it and do something from the inside, attack key points or what ever.  but thats my idea

Well there is the old J3 Golem. It required going inside to destroy and I’ve never had the chance to do it nor get the scans. Been thinking that railjack could be a more interesting means to fight it if DE ever decides to bring it back. Could definitely start seeing crazier stuff.

Like imagine Mutalist Raptors flying around. They are much larger ospreys. So perfect for a much larger infested golem. We still don’t have things like an infested Jackal. Could see that as a mini boss fight inside the golem. Or like an infested Lynx. Also Mutalist Alad V makes me imagine an infested Zanuka Hunter. Could be the next upgrade similar to the stalker and shadow stalker. When zanuka Hunter kills you, you are brought to a lab that you must break out. Can imagine if the infested version brought you to a more infested version of that lab. Amd now with Alad V working with sentients, I’m picturing a sentient Zanuka Hunter.

Either way, the J3 Golem with a few changes could be the perfect railjack infested boss.

  13. It is mostly a matter of perspective. Just cause you personally don’t like it, doesn’t make it bad or useless. People complain about frames all the time that I have no issues with at all.

But I base my opinions on the impact certain abilities have. Too many players call a frame weak just cause they are difficult to reach level 200 enemies in an endless mission. Even though the point of the levels is for them to be more difficult.

    For example:

1). Chroma. Many people don’t like Chroma all because he is not a nuke frame. He is the frame you want to use against bosses. Big tough guys that abilities have no/little effect on.

2). Inaros is a tank. If a newbie doesn’t want to die so easily and just relax/leech, they use Inaros. His abilities help but they don’t nuke the map like many would want.

3). Excalibur. Creates an exalted weapon that USED TO deal more damage than any other melee. But is limited on single targeted use. In other words, can’t be used for nuking.

What do the above have in common? They don’t nuke the map. Which many players will hate because most of the game requires killing lots upon lots of enemies. Especially in a short time like ESO and Survival. Others simply want to get certain goals or objectives done so they can move on with their life. So they want frames that can nuke entire maps.

But a nuking frame isn’t always the popular one. Many players like to pick off one enemy at a time for “fun”. So they choose frames that can deal high amount of damage on a single target. The game isn’t always about killing hordes. There are bosses and assassins.

Then there is simply the option to be supportive of other players. Like Trinity healing and replenishing energy for allies. Which with the right squad, can focus on high power strength with low efficiency while Trinity restores their energy.

I usually use Rhino because I can sort of do 3 roles. I can be tough to kill. I can nuke low level maps with his stomp. But I can also triple the damage of allies with Roar. Allowing for frames like Saryn, Day Equinox, etc. to deal triple the damage with their abilities. Most people only notice the nukers and not the rhino buffing them up.

Most people use Nidus for his second or fourth ability. Sometimes first. But I focus on his Third ability. I use max power strength. So for the most part I can double the power strength of anybody I link to. Imagine a chroma with like 800% power strength. If the squad is set up perfectly, I can increase the power strength by 2.5x. While fissured it becomes 3x. While fissure with the perfect squad it becomes 4x. I’ve done the math and a max strength rhino and Nidus in the perfect squad can create a Roar of over 2,300% if both are fissured. Nidus buffing chroma’s vex armor then links to Rhino while standing near chroma can create an Iron Skin of 250k. Not even the Wolf of Saturn Six could deal enough damage to destroy. Imagine if all 3 were fissured.

But some abilities are just too small compared to others. Like Atlas’s second ability. He creates like the smallest wall. Which again it is a second ability. But with no benefit from range like Frost and Gara, he should be able to at least create 3 walls as part of his default ability and not as an augment. Sending the wall flying into enemies is usually difficult to control. Maybe if using his petrify made the boulder bounce off walls or something. Atlas should be able to use Landslide to shatter the walls and turn them into shrapnel that damages enemies on the other side. It won’t be as good as Gara’s fourth obviously but at least it won’t feel useless to use.

But point is, it is all about your perspective of the frame and your play style. Me, I’m simply a team player and always try to find the perfect team builds with any and all frames. Most people focus too much on what a solo frame can do while I focus on what a team can do. And not the basic “you defend, you heal, you buff, and Hulkframe... smash”. But something much more creative and usually has bigger and much more shocking results.

I had thought of adding a personal companion but that takes up the passive ability slot. I wouldn't mind it at all but my previous attempts at making a frame with companion combo got 0 comments.

Well the passive is like Oberon’s on steroids. DE won’t do that. Oberon literally buffs companions health and such just not to the extent that you’re aiming for.

HOWEVER. I have been thinking of a frame whose first ability summons a Kubrow. Similar to how Nidus can’t use his third or fourth without mutation stacks from his first ability, this frame would require activating his first and summoning a kubrow before using some of his other abilities.

Now onto the other abilities. In my honest opinion they are way too weak. The third ability could be his passive, cause like I said, it is like Oberon’s on steroids. So here’s more of my suggestions:

Passive: as long as there is a companion the down timer is reduced and the companion provides a barrier during revival. Maybe the companion gives up its life to revive the downed frame if the timer runs out. Similar to the Regen Mod.

1). Can summon a Kubrow to aid the frame. The health, shield, and Armor is based on the frame’s. A sort of overall stat link. Power strength determines the damage the kubrow can do.

2). emits a high pitch sound that stuns enemies while sending any nearby companion of theirs to attack them with ferocity while increasing the damage of his own companion. Power strength increases the damage buff they gain. Can be held for longer stun depending on efficiency.

3). Can make a soothing sound that enemies in range will begin to dose off/feel light headed. Creates a radius of the length the sound travels. It’s based on duration. The enemies only last for a few seconds depending on duration but last indefinitely as long as the ability itself remains active while they are within range. Which leaves them open to finishers. It also speeds up the recovery of ally companions.

4). He basically unleashes the beast within himself as he becomes a ferocious force of nature. He gains an increase in melee speed and damage while frightening any enemy near him and causes them to hesitate or run in panic. His First ability is increased as he gains the ability to summon up to 3 Kubrows instead of just one. Second ability intensity is increased as enemies fall to their knees holding their ears, leaving them wide open while increasing the speed of the companions. Third ability can’t be activated while in this state.

That is a bit more “unique” and more up to the existing frames’ levels. In my opinion.

You could make it a magnetic frame. Combining positive and negative charges could violently attract enemies to one another, instantly dealing magnetic damage as well as more damage on impact. It may also immobilize them for a short time.

I am suggesting this change because honestly, chris1pat8twins is right, there’s already an electric frame. You’ll need to think of something else.

But there’s still hope. I think if you were to use my magnetic frame idea, or at least something like it, you may not have to change very much about your frame. I don’t think a transition from electric to magnetic would be a huge one. So I think you could work with what you already have to make something even better.

Doubt it considering there is a magnetic frame. Mag. Maybe not like the way you put it but still magnetic. There are dozens of abilities for each elemental concept but DE only accepts 4 for each frame, and only one of that particular theme. Like how Ember is a pure fire theme, chroma is an elemental dragon theme, Nezha is a Chinese God theme. All three can inflict fire damage but all three aren’t the same theme. So you can’t have another magnetic theme. It has to be different. Otherwise DE would have made like 3 different frames of each attribute by now. We would be at like Mastery Rank 40 by now. But they made it pretty clear that they don’t have any plans for making multiple frames of the exact same theme. Each one has to be completely different.

Machete is one I forgot you can't get again. Fair enough on that one, another that should be added to Simaris once a player has had it.

Heat Sword shows up in the nightwave store. Ether daggers and snipetron being available during Plague Star is still available, just difficult to reacquire. If you're playing the game long enough for the MR or to fulfill some meta/meme/minmax build that requires one of these things, you'll be able to get many of them back.

I know. But many new players won’t fully understand and many people don’t know when things will appear to schedule around it. Nightwave switching items would make it complicated to receive. There is also an infested sword and other weapon Blueprints you get from completing the link between one planet to the other. And a sentinel. Those can’t just be regained either. Unless I’m missing something. Cause I have never seen those weapons anywhere else. But I also have everything so I don’t go around searching. I just try to give new players advice not to sell items until they max them out first.

Then many weapons require other weapons to build. So that can cause issues too unless players get real good at the game to where spending a couple of days trying to build these complicated weapons.

They definitely need a warning before selling. Something like “if you sell this item you won’t get it back again”, “if you sell this item you will have to get it from nightwave”, “this item is also needed for another weapon”, etc.

Thinking more on it, I would really like to suggest that her 2 also be allowed to be cast during her 4. With Target Scaling and being able to cast during her 4, she'd have a good boost in her power. Allowing her to be more impactful during high enemy situations, soaking up some damage, stripping enemies, and causing some damage to them.

That would be kind of over powered. Like half or more of the enemies tankiness comes from their shields and/or armor. So being able to completely strip them is almost like nova priming them with her fourth. So I can understand why her second ability is limited to just 6.

With her fourth augment, she can use the armor strip. It would be nice if she could use the damage build up to deal damage to those she strips. Concentrating the damage she absorbs into her psychic bolts. She would still be limited to 6 enemies, but at least with the right build, she can possibly deal a lot of damage. Or without her augment she can disbursed the entire bubble into a wide range armor/shield strip to all enemies. It would leave her vulnerable if she is “squishy”. But at least with the right team, she can be much more useful. While her augment allows you to maintain protection. Like why bother using the augment to walk around and shoot if you’re just gonna disable it with her psychic bolts. It would allow a solo and team strategy use.

Especially since her fourth feels totally useless other than providing temporary survivability. Like I’ve tried max range, max strength, half and half, in the end even after absorbing millions of damage, the enemies barely take any after the ability is disbursed. So DE definitely needs to check that unless I’m missing something. But the paragraph above would definitely help.

But Nyx is useful against Ruk who likes his fire too much. Can protect against it while making him more vulnerable and causing him to attack his own allies which makes him burn out more without endangering the Tennos’ lives. She is also useful for index cause there is not a lot of enemies. So her 6 man limit is perfect for striping them completely of shields and armor thus making them vulnerable to one shot all the way to round 4.

But you can’t expect DE to design all frame to be perfect for every type of mission. I do miss being able to punch the stalker with Atlas. Feel that limiting Atlas to the pawns is just pathetic. He deserves better than that. He should be able to go hand to hand against bosses with his landslide. It doesn’t do the most amount of damage but it is fun to use. I remembering punching the Wolf right in the nuts when he was temporarily the boss of Saturn. Cause he was too tall for Atlas to hit him anywhere else.

Some frames currently have limited use and even during those there are others that can do much better. Atlas being one of them. Nyx could use a LITTLE upgrade but not too much. Like maybe a little more duration on her second and third. Along with the little synergy I mentioned above.

I've recently picked up Atlas as my main Warframe and while he is a good Warframe and really fun to play there are some simple things in his kit that are holding him back. This post is to highlight some of those things and provide simple fixes that would make him an overall better Warframe.

One of the biggest problems to me is with Rumblers. Why do they have a duration? There are three warframes in this game that have a summoned specter as part of their base ability( Wukong, Khora and Atlas). Atlas happens to be the only one with a duration. The reason I believe for this is because of the time at which atlas was reworked. Atlas was reworked in update 22.12 and at that time there were no warframes besides him with such an ability. However after him the design philosophy of Warframe changed and they released khora shortly after and they released Khora shortly after and reworked Wukong a little while after that. I think that Atlas should have the duration of his Rumblers be infinite since out of the 3 warframes I mentioned he clearly has the weaker specter since it can't use weapons or benefit from companion mods like the others do. Having Rumblers have an infinite duration would make the petrify synergy useful for healing the Rumblers because with an infinite duration they're more likely to need healing. Currently the interaction seems kind of useless because I've never actually seen my Rumblers get killed and not just expire.

Another big problem he has is with his ore gaze. His petrify augment for increased loot is affected by power strength. While this may seem like a good thing at first the base chance is 25%. In other words to have the same increased chance as nekros you would need 216% power strength and you would need 260% power strength to have the same chance as Khora. In addition to a lot of power strength you would also need enough range to hit multiple enemies and enough efficiency to cast it multiple times. This makes it really hard to have an effective build since you would require some many different stats and there is only so many mod spaces. Atlas is the only loot Warframe that has his loot chance being affected by power strength. This might also be the result of the time at which the augment was release since Hydroid previously had this but no longer does. I would suggest that the make the augment no longer affected by power strength and give it a base percent between 50% and 75%(more on the higher end of this scale). The reason for this is because the loot drop chance of the other warframes seem to be tied to the difficulty or effort required for the ability. Nekros passively increases drop chance and has the lowest percent at 54%. Khora uses her 4th ability which is quite large and able to grab enemies into it and her drop chance increase is at 65% and hydroid has a stationary puddle that can grab enemies but not as well as Khora and has a 100% drop chance increase. I would fit Atlas in around the same area as Khora.

Another problem that I see with Atlas is with his Rumbled argument and landslide. Rumbled allows you to turn into a Rumbled and hurl rocks as a Melee ability. Landslide lets you punch people really hard. While in rumbled you're still able to use landslide which is nice but the problem comes when you realize that they both have to share the same stat stick since they're both pseudo-exalted weapons. That normally wouldn't be much of a problem until you realize how vastly different the stats on them are. Landslide has 5% critical chance and 5% status chance. Rumbled on the other hand has 0% critical chance and 12.5% status chance. If you're building for pure damage then this doesn't matter too much but a critical build is a viable option for landslide. Running blood rush, sacrificial steel and the gladiator mod set gives you over 80% critical chance before applying buffs like arcane avenger and cat's eye or a riven. With Rumbled since it is has a 0% critical chance this build would be useless. If you tried to run a purely status build the rocks from Rumbled would have 2.5 times more status chance than landslide making using landslide in that situation not the best of choice. Another issue is that Rumbled also doesn't benefit from the counter counter. This is yet another inconsistency between landslide and. I suggest in order to bring consistency between these two abilities they have have the same critical chance and status chance or atleast very similar and both benefit from the combo counter. This number should be any number above 5% preferably 10%. If the critical chance of landslide was 7% instead of 5% then atlas would be guaranteed yellow crits with the build I stated earlier so any critical chance increase to either abilities is very welcome. I know that this mod was originally a conclave mod( had to farm conclave to get it, it's actually quite fun but certain weapons are abused) so PvE changes could make it unbalanced but increase the critical chance of it or making it benefit from the combo counter wouldn't make it that much better in conclave so this should be a welcomed change.

Also can I please jump with it. Like just single jump. This isn't the best example but because of the inability to jump with this mod it's impossible to get back to the loadout platform in the new simulacrum. Most missions will have stairs but those can often be quite time consuming to run to since they have be very far away and the only movement you have in this mode is sprinting and rolling.

I suggested these few changes because they are very simple changes that could be done in a very short time period and doesn't require a full rework. It's could be thrown into any hotfix under the changes section such as

-changed Atlas' Rumblers having a duration

-increased the critical chance of landslide. Up from 5% to 10%.

I don't know how likely me writing a post about it is gonna bring about change but I'm very hopeful. If this post gets a lot of traction then maybe some at DE like notice it and we might see changes very soon. I know they are focused on other things that's why most of the changes I suggested are simple number changes or other things that don't take it much resources. Sorry for writing so much, I tend to be very passionate about certain things and really hope that I can make a change.

    TLDR:

    • Atlas' Rumblers shouldn't have a duration because the other frames with specters don't have one.
    • Atlas' ore gaze shouldn't be affected by power strength because it makes him harder to build for and the other loot frames don't have this problem.
    • Atlas' Rumbled Augment and Landslide should have the same critical and status chance and benefit from the counter combo since they share the same stat stick.

I feel like they need to do a few things as well. Such as:

1). Make his First ability Rumblers. Considering how nearly useless they are with their lack of movement, limited range, and duration, that is just too weak for a fourth ability when they don’t do much damage, and I’ve used my Nidus to buff a dude’s power strength to over 800%. As a first that would make more sense.

2). By making rumblers Atlas’s first, it would mean making his landslide as his Fourth. But I was thinking evolving it into sort of exalted Gauntlets or “Fists”. Like the Furax. While holding the ability creates or cancels the rocky Fists, tapping would perform the landslide. So other than waiting till your frame is level 10 or higher to use landslide, there won’t be much of a difference other than having more to use.

3). His wall is just way to small and limited. Gara’s wall is like 50x superior as a fourth. Which the power gap is pretty big. She can not only make her wall much taller than Atlas, she can also make it much, much wider. And she can shatter it with her First ability to inflict huge amount of slash damage. I think he should be able to do something like using landslide to target the wall and punch it, turning it into shrapnel that deals a decent amount of impact damage. Maybe some puncture.

4). His petrify is nice and all but I feel like his Rumblers should also be able to use petrify as well. The augment for a single rumbler would also make the petrify much longer and wider. Would make it easier to hit more enemies with his rumblers. Maybe use petrify on the rumblers to make them shiny but also make them quicker. Maybe after, you can use his second part of his wall ability to send them flying into enemies like cannon balls.

Just stuff to create much more synergy with his abilities.

This hasn't been true for quite a long time. Simaris sells BPs for these previously 'one time' items after you've passed whatever quest or whatnot they were originally acquired on. So you can get say Broken Scepter again if you dumped it without leveling it fully. Broken War is obtainable from Stalker and sentients. It isn't easy, but it can be done.

There’s the machete, heat sword, ether daggers, etc, that you can’t just farm for again or purchase the BP. Also the ether daggers and snipertron only appear in plague star event that happens like once a year. So players would have to wait up to a year before they can regain ether daggers. Simaris doesn’t have every blueprint.

My focus here will be suggestions that require the lest amount of effort to change. Very small tweaks to improve flow of the early days of a New Player.

I feel the 2 main issues for a new player are 1. not understanding what to do 2. the huge time gap between first log-in to second frame.

The current material requirements for Warframes require access the Tier 1 section of the Void, after Ceres. So, you have to plow through 6 planets to make the Rhino frame you got on Venus. I remember way back after having a friend help me kill Jackal 23 times (no joke) to get the blueprints, my first though was "I can make this now, right?" No, you need that same friend to taxi you to several other levels to to mats, or wait till you have done like 40% of the star chart. It is also worth mentioning the Void as a concept is not explained until much later.

Solution: Change the crafting Requirements of early frames to ONLY include materials from the same planet the blueprints drop. (Rhino, Frost, Ember, Excalibur, Mag at least)

As for the problem of not knowing what to do: Maybe the creation of a Player's first new Warframe should be met with a little more pomp and circumstance. A quest (and by quest I mean something small scale - just some Ordis dialogue and missions that give you the nurodes and plastids you need) that walks you through the process of finding blueprints, gathering materials, and building.

Definitely need to explain how Mastery Ranking works too. Cause there are a few weapons you can’t just get back by playing the game once you sell them. And the only way to level up MR is to level up everything from 0 to max. Those are definitely details DE shouldn’t leave out. Should be something they force new players to learn before progressing. Not just hope they decide to look it up.

Also when I first started playing I used an unmodded Excalibur and weapons all through like 80% of the solar system. I fought the boss on Sedna before realizing what the mods are. High MR players didn’t want to believe me cause I survived better than they did, and had better parkour skills than them. I’m just too use to game like CoD where it is almost one and done. So learning how to dodge and avoid attacks just comes natural to me.

But main thing was I was not in a rush for a new frame. I was focusing more on learning the layout, rules, and mechanics of the game. After that, getting, farming, building, and leveling everything came to me quickly.

If you followed a certain schedule I’ve set up, you could have MR 28 worth of affinity(XP) in just one week if you chose to play only a few hours each day. You’ll still have to wait about a month to do each test to become MR 28, but the points carry over. That is how easy it is once you figure out the game and complete most missions and connect your star chart track through each planet.

I just collected 10 of these things and went to the first investigation --> Jumped off the platform (NOT on an incorrect answer) --> Get booted out and lose the 10 resonance.

NO NO NO NO NO. Farming these took many hours. I even did some random missions with no other rewards for over an hour without getting a single shard.

    Really DE? REALLY? I'm out.

They spawn every 25 minutes. Sometimes 50. So the best mission to do is survival. A very low level survival. Like on Venus. And you’re guaranteed to gather resonance as long as you play 25 minutes each time for how ever long you choose. You can play till they spawn, kill them, leave, wait like 10-15 minutes(depending on how quickly you kill them and leave), start again and they should spawn early in the mission. If they don’t show after 25 minutes, then it means it will be 50 minutes. Not too common though. You should gain like 3 each time. Sometimes 5. Sometimes 2. At least I always got 3-5 each time. Nekros helps too. Basically learn how to schedule or just grind one very long mission if you last that long. They also don’t spawn in fissures. Open world you’ll need to find a group of enemies and the glass fissure will spawn if Nora mentions it.

You also need to remember the five clues in your investigation when you tune in and just memorize them. Take pics if needed. As soon as you see the list of 3, you follow the path with your clues. Which will be a weapon, an image of someone, and emblem/symbol, a word, a name. Always a different order but the same clues. Different clues for each person. There’s like 243 combinations but each player only has one.

Last is remembering that you can’t aim glide and such like usual. It’s like walking in your ship or in a relay. Best to use double jump, not super quickly. Many mess up cause they try to aim glide.

Honestly, this was actually pretty easy. Kind of fun too, probably cause I enjoy puzzles a little bit. Sure it took me some hours but once I figured the time limit, farming wasn’t hard and I only failed the test once because I bullet jumped but couldn’t aim glide and over shot the platform. Second attempt I completed. Now I have 2 more maximum attempts for whenever episode 2 comes.

One thing I'm both excited and hoping for is that DE is going around the forums looking for ideas to bring to the infested open world, that should hopefully bring us a ton more infested stuff.

I don't remember specifically but it sounded like it would be kind of in space open world, feel like I remember them saying something about flying around last time they brought it up in a stream, so we could be very well looking at some infested archwing modular parts.

As an opened world specifically for infested, definitely see like a dozen new pure infested enemies. Imagine an infested that is similar to a zanuka hunter and is like super quick. We are talking volt speed vs Gauss Mach rush kind of quick. So just running away won’t be so easy. Can already see myself trying to run a super speed with the dude chasing me. And I’ve linked my fissured Nidus to a fissures Volt. I was running into walls and such but luckily my parkour skills are good enough for me to recover and get back on track.

But just imagine a new breed of infested that aren’t so deformed which allows them to run a lot faster than other infested. Which is sort of expected of the only faction that don’t quite shoot from a distance.

People, including me, have been posting ideas for a new infested open world. DE is not alone and shouldn’t be so hesitant to use people’s ideas. Like why bother having a fan concept just to not use any of the concepts that many would actually enjoy?

i actually hadn't thought of a name, i try to keep more specific ideas vague to get more participation.

and i just went searching to see if i could find a name but i got an idea for a different weapon instead...

but those other infested weapons are a point i brought up to my clan too, there really seems like a lot of obvious weapons just in the negative space of what we already have.

imagine an infested weapon based on this fungus that, maybe causes enemies to seek out other enemies and explode on them, similar to enthrall.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophiocordyceps_unilateralis

seems pretty basic to me, like simplistic maybe weapon fodder design, but sounds fun.

makes me wonder if DE as this endless internal list of weapon ideas...

Sounds like a different kind of infested throwing weapon. Like one that when thrown, the first enemy hit would get turned into an unstable infested and seek out a nearby enemy before exploding. Basically a weapon that guarantees a kill when thrown. But because it is only a single enemy at a time, it wouldn’t be OP. It can’t hit more than one enemy. The enemy would sprout like some huge infested pimple where ever they are hit. Almost like a peculiar mod. Then they start going berserk.

I try to figure out all the details. To maintain balance and such. Make it easier for DE to implement if they ever consider it. So they won’t have to try so much to think of everything else that was left out. The stats of the frames or weapons I tend to leave up to them. Mostly cause they would know exactly how much they should be in comparison to others.

The link is of the assassin. But the main goal was trying to introduce a new breed/variant of infested. Which also includes infested weapons.

All the others get a more advanced version: Grineer = wraith, corpus = vandal, Tenno = prime. We get some Tenno as wraith or vandal and different factions of Prisma. Yet we don’t have one for infested.

Been trying to think of a class of infested weapons that are more evolved or has unique abilities that haven’t been done before. Figured they could be like a sort of mutation of existing weapons. Basically one of the parts would be an existing infested weapon and another is a new kind of mutated infested resource, like some ancient mutagen mass that has gone through decades or centuries of mutations.

But then I created the concept above about infested infused with Kuva to create a new breed. Thus a new evolution of infested weapons. So a new infested glaive could have the special effect that you mentioned. The new resources would drop from the new type of infested and/or infested assassin.

I’ve been trying to bring this to DE’s attention and everybody else for that matter. That we need more infested stuff to balance out the factions. I don’t expect the infested faction to get to the same size as the others, but figured having more pure breed infested would make the faction less boring/predictable.

Man, now I’m thinking of like hundreds of stuff for infested. Makes me wish I was a video game designer.

DE have already mentioned that more umbra frames are coming, but unlike primes not all frames are getting an umbra variant

From what I heard, they will only be like the very first starter frames. Frost, ember, rhino, Loki, mag. Can’t remember what other frames were sort or default. Like they came during the game’s release.

Hope more Umbra mods come too cause I’d like to not have my builds for like my rhino to change. It is mainly a team nuke build.
