Ofc 'refreshing' would work. It put your PC setting back to default. Thus activated SMB and allow Workstations to work.

And with Operation Plague Star coming this week. It's safe to say that all hope is lost.

i'm sure they know, but it's probably not a "snap of the fingers" fix
because it probably ties in with something else that was added with PoE.... nothing is really ever as simple as "reverse it" unless its adjusting numbers for stats, or costs, or something similar -
Now even the patch thread is dead...

At this point, it seems that they are leaving it as it is.
The only thing that could change my mind now is that they actually fix it, or a [DE] comment in this thread.
I don't hold out hope. Not anymore. It's them who has lost their mind.

I've been trying to raise this SMB awareness everywhere, from their official Discord to every new patch note thread. All I got is 1 upvote and a few laugh in my face...

This case no long in the state of guessing the issue, The issue had long been identified, Now we are just sitting here waiting for that damn 'fix' from DE.
I tried enable that Workstation to test this, and could login just fine.

The info has nothing to do with this. That message is confusing as hell because it wasn't supposed to be the answer for that error.
And if this 48 pages thread wasn't clear enough. The problem is because we don't have Workstation service enabled. The thing that for some godforsaken reasons the game now require in order to just log into the game. The thing that was disabled for a damn good reason.

You shouldn't anyway. I can login fine using the workaround, but that's a huge security risk.
