No more quick melee, you instantly equip your melee and blocking is automatic now

Channeling uses your mouse wheel and toggle instead of holding your left mouse button

Combo that uses block to start is still there, just keep holding that old block button like usual (right mouse button on default)

Damn, the last time i played you couldnt even channel at all.

But it is their project. There is no greater expert on Warframe than DE. An economist isn't going to give them info they don't already know.

Depends on what you mean by expert. As a student in game development, my lecturers constantly drill into me that the worst possible judge for your game is yourself.

But you also need plat for slots and other crap, but it is also a fair point, the problem is that you have the free alternative just locked away every ten weeks. and farming plat for a catalyst or reactor is a really roundabout way of getting them.

Yea, but even with the old alerts it was incredibly hard to get potatoes anyway. In fact, I don't remember getting a catalyst or reactor from an alert that isn't gift of the lotus.

On the other hand you still have the occasional invasion that gives potatoes, which is pretty rare too. But at least I remember getting potatoes from them.

  4. Finally, a post that makes sense instead of mindlessly bashing NW.

I agree with the post in general, however

    BUT I DON'T HAVE A CATALYST!

I'm not sure about you, but back in the day when I was struggling to get blue potatoes, I'd farm plat to buy them. So far I've heard this is pretty common practice, so maybe you should try that.

Right, but does it interpolate between those two values? Like, would a shot charged to 50% have 1.75m of punchthrough? Or would all partially charged shots have the same 1.5m until a shot is fully charged, whereupon it switches to 2m. It doesn't really matter hence why I didn't put it in the OP, but I'm curious.

The wiki doesn't say anything about this, but you could go and do your own testing in the simulacrum. Load up a few rows of level 1 butchers and see 😉

Already sold my drakgoon so I can't test for you, sorry!

Does fully charging the Drakgood offer bonus damage per pellet (and if so, by how much)

Yes actually. According to the wiki, uncharged shots deal 40 impact, 40 puncture, 320 slash. On the other hand charged shots deal 70 impact, 70 puncture, 560 slash.

Edit: It also has increased status chance from 10% to 23% in total (to find status chance per pellet, divide by number of pellets)

I'm not calling specific people an idiot, and I'm perfectly capable of accepting people having differing opinions. White knighting is useless and goes nowhere, but not all positive feedback is white knighting. You tried to pass off that the community, at least the forum community, believes positive feedback is not needed or even allowed when that's a far cry from reality.

Well at least that's what I recall, which according to you I'm clearly wrong. But for example, observe this post. All subsequent comments handle this debate.

If the title is meant to be funny put /s to indicate sarcasm, emotions do not travel through internet text.

It's spelt Reevu for a reason, btw.

    You misspelled "woosh"

Uhh, no. That is not the consensus. You're equating a few loud voices to the entire community. Sadly, some people believe only negative responses is feedback, when again both positive and negative are important. It's all feedback in the end. Your whole "one or two guys debating" is a clear example of it being the stupid and loud section of the community, which thankfully is very small.

The way you talk almost sounds like as if everyone who doesn't agree with you is an idiot.

At least, don't do namecalling. Also the one or two guys debating it were the people debating for positive feedback, not against.

The argument that positive feedback is useless does make sense in some context. For example, white knighting.

because you don't like it? I don't understand the mindset here, whenever I've seen positive feedback on the forums, almost always people support it, so that people like you can see the value of it. Just because you don't like it when one annoying forum person tells you that it doesn't belong in feedback means doesn't mean that it doesn't dude.

Either the mindset of the community has shifted in the last few months or I am recalling things incorrectly. But there have been pages of people S#&$ting on positive feedback that goes way back. Not just one guy. It was the consensus that if it was positive feedback, it was useless. There would occasionally be the one or two guys debating it though.

What are you talking about? Both positive and negative feedback are equally important. Positive reinforces what is done right, negative highlights what's wrong.

I didn't say I support the idea of positive feedback being useless (though i used to), but I've seen people who certainly do and from past experience I've learned to mute positive feedback from my posts as much as possible.

You wrote the title like everyone was waiting for this moment, gather around kids, it's time for Cep's Reevu of Warframe for 2019! "Omg I'm so excited! Time to go to the forums!" And to see your attitude as you casually give warframe a god awful 70%, a C-, a game that has captured so many of our hearts and playtime. And for this to be the most vague feedback I have seen since the posts made by people who rant without knowing what they're doing, you seem pretty confident.

In short, all you did was take what little you liked in the game, then took all of the popular negative feedback from the forums, slapped it into a vague post, gave Warframe a bad grade, and called it a day. This is definitely not feedback dude.

70% is a pass for me. Also if you've been crawling through the forums enough you will know that positive feedback has no place in feedback. Should be glad that I even put pros and rated the thing smh.

Also the title is meant to be funny.

    whoosh.

  13. Hi all. If you're wondering why this is in General, well, its because the topic is pretty general. The devs could certainly make use of my review im sure. I humbly invite the community to debate any of my points.

    Pros

    1. It's free

Yea. Just had to get it out of the way. NEXT!

    2. Content

If you are fresh to Warframe, you are in for a long ride. Like a really long one. You are looking at at least 500 to 1000 hours of engaging playtime. The rest of the hours after that, might get a little more braindead if you know what I mean.

    3. Economy

Warframe still has the fairest in-game economy that I've seen. You can earn premium currency by trading loot with other players and basically farm your way up to the point of a paying player (save for some cosmetics).

    4. Graphics and performance

I don't see this mentioned enough, but Warframe is both beautiful and surprisingly easy on your hardware.

    5. Art style

This might be seen as a pro or a con in some ways. After all beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Warframe's art style does have a niche but it fulfills that niche quite well.

    Cons

    1. Polishing

Imo, the worst flaw of any game, not just Warframe in particular. And Warframe does lack polish. A lot of polish. Everything from host migrations which make you lose hours of progress, broken scaling, bullet sponge bossfights, useless old frames, abandoned gamemodes, you name it, we probably got it.

    2. Grind

Not that big of a deal especially if you are the kind of person that likes to work hard in a game. But I could definitely see this as a turn off for a significant number of players. Part of it is a consequence of being f2p. Like I said earlier the game does become a little braindead past a certain point so instead of working hard you might be just working long.

    3. Updates

Warframe does come out with new free content at least once or twice a year, but they rarely do rework existing content even when (most of) the community basically wants it. So don't expect another Ember rework or Focus rework anytime in the next couple years.

    Overall: 7/10

    Edit 6.6.2019

Just for further clarification. The rating really isn't supposed to mean anything, I just put it there for fun. Please don't use it as a legit "hurr durr y u rate dis wey" argument. It's just a number. It isn't feedback.

Currently I am studying game development (in the programming field) and sometimes it's good to have a player write a general consensus of your game for you since the golden rule is "you are the worst judge of your own game" as taught by my lecturers, repeatedly. This post is meant to highlight what's nice and what's lacking, nothing else.

Also, no hard feelings to the 16 comments below.
