  1. I was always a big fan of original Gram and as much as I love the design of Gram Prime there is one little thing I would like to point out.

When you compare Gram side by side with Gram Prime you will notice one thing right away - blade is longer and wider in size compared to former. Now when you take a look and handles on both weapons you will probably notice that OG Gram being a smaller weapon has actually longer and thicker handle, which fits the whole look of it perfectly in my own opinion.

On the picture attached below you can see how short the handle on Gram Prime actually is and there is barely enough hand space for Excal to hold it. When you equip the weapon on frames with larger hands (like Chroma Prime for example) it becomes even more noticeable.

Grip size adjustment on melee weapons has been made by DE in past more than once by now, so hopefully if more of you guys share my point of view there is still chance for some small changes to be made.

It won't work, because then the armor will still be attached on the arms, which will most likely clip into it... Which in turn would mean that they would have to choose between catering people that use one or the other option.

On top of that, while all you say is true, ask yourself that if it was this easy why don't we have Vauban and Volt with cloth physics, for example. It is also true that they have more stuff we don't know about being worked on pretty much all the time.

Not to say how much the pauldron would clip when animated. Why do you think they chose to model Oberon Prime how it is? Here's a hint:

They don't rig (for technical reasons or because they don't want to, I have no idea), this kind of pieces. Hence what happens above. And hecne why the whole time I was saying "When Oberon Prime comes, try to make his shoulder armor come at the side". They might have noticed at some point.

And it would happen on this, and people would still complain.

People, you just need to accept that Oberon Prime's mesh is different, just like other Primes are. Take me for a fool, call me whatever, but this will most likely not happen because it's asking for a lot of work they can be doing on another thing and it's an approved, functional new design.

Please tell me how bad the clipping looks like:

  3. A lot of work ? A major change ? For putting one existing model part on top of the other existing one by a company creating the game? Don't be ridiculous please.

A completely new helmet or syandana models are being created by a single tennogen artists in just few weeks with custom textures and physics.

What I'm suggesting is a small change that could be added one day to make wider audience happy with the way Oberon P looks.

Also, Your opinion about it being a significant clipping problem has nothing to do here cause I clearly stated that it could be a part stored in auxiliary slot. Don't like it ? Simply don't use it. Again, makes everyone happy.

No, the Shoulder design is different and they can't change it. It's going to ruin many things, from the custom armor to the whole thing because the armor pieces are designed to be glued and modeled different.

On the image below You can clearly see where is the base model and where are the prime additions. I'd say that the regular shoulder armor would fit pretty nicely on top of that primed back piece.

ps. With people like this running in warframe a tiny armor clipping is rather insignificant in my opinion.

  5. Maybe a solution would be an addition of auxiliary slot like Nekros have for his mortos binds. It would contain the extra shoulder cosmetic option for primed version. It would make everyone happy and leave nobody to complain.

No, the design of his shoulders are is not different. They just removed the base shoulder armor from regular Oberon and covered most of his back with primed layers.

I'm sure DE can come up with some quick&easy solution. It's just a matter of some positioning to avoid too much clipping.

For what it's worth, I've been leveling my Nekros Prime, and SotD feels like such garbage now. The draining health means a lot more baby sitting and head checks to make sure nothing is about to fall over and require a longer casting time.

We should have some kind of UI indicator for tracking the HP of our shadows so I don't have to keep targeting my own shadows to know what their HP is. Even if they remove the decay I would want this.

Yeah that's another issue that got me killed more than a few times already. Facing a large group of high lvl enemies with my shadows up and then just *poof* 4 out of 7 dropped dead, my damage reduction went down and I got killed because I wasn't "baby sitting" them like You perfectly described it.

It has the same problem as Rhino's Iron Skin before DE actually updated the skill to display how much armor You have left.

  7. Every video I saw on youtube, every post made on reddit or forums reviewing Nekros changes always mentions one thing specifically - excessive health drain on shadows.

If DE is refusing to remove the health drain completely then it should be adjusted in one of two ways as I see it:

    1) Make Shadows HP drain a stable 1% unaffected by any mods - This will let us free up some space by removing duration mods to make builds more versatile,

    or

    2) Make Shadows HP drain start at 1% as a base value and let it be still affected by duration mods as it is - This will allow us to extend the duration of SotD to be in more comfortable zone.

Since the best possible scenario is rather unlikely to happen (hp drain removed) I think one of the above would be at least a slight sign that DE still at least tries to listen to the community feedback.

Also it seems like upcoming update will contain next batch of TennoGen stuff. As much as I can't wait for the GVolt skin, I'm afraid it won't really make me spend any time playing Warframe if that's all they have planned for this week.

  8. Yeah it's all slowly becoming the next "No Man's Sky". Big hopes and promises are turning into flops lately.

I've been around for a long time and was always happy to support this game with my money at least once or twice a month. But since Second Dream update I did not had a single reason give DE my money.

I even wanted to get Targis Prime armor but NOPE, even though so many people asked for a separate pack after Frost prime vault turned out to be a massive failure for players who already owned the frame and weapons, DE stated that they will "take a loot into it" in the future prime vault's. Feedback was given, people agreed that separate prime accessory pack is a good idea and what happened ? Of course they released everything in single pack again.

People were really pissed off. I was too, but now I'm happy it turned out this way since I got myself brand new game for the money I was saving for Targis Prime armor. And DE is still assuring me that it was a good decision of mine :)

  9. Soo...Nekros Prime just got released without any changes made to him and SOTD. Fanboys are already spending their parents money (joke) and what do you guys think about it ?

It all feels kinda "cheap" this time. With each new Prime we had a nice trailer week or so before the release to tease us, PBR to existing non-prime version of warframes and weapons and now all we got was a bunch of rather questionable changes to Nekros before he got primed.

  10. People are simply getting tired of being ignored. When Volt was about to receive his rework there was A TON of feedback from the community which got mostly ignored in the end (except of reverting the changes made to Speed since they were truly horrible). What result did it yield ? Energy drain and reduced movement speed while carrying Shield by Volt made this feature a total waste of time and resources since it's so bad that not a single Volt player is using it + damage capacity on Discharge that breaks its CC feature even after 1 second in certain situations and rarely lasts longer than half of it's duration in normal encounters.

You don't agree with me that people are getting tired ? Analyze the steam charts:

    http://steamcharts.com/app/230410#1y

In 2015 we had 4 major updates (15,16,17 and 18), we got 6 new warframes and a crap ton of new stuff and changes concluding with awesome "Second Dream" quest which attracted a ton of new players reaching the peak in February 29 right before the "Sands of Inaros" update. But you may ask "why the all time peak in 2016 if it is so bad ?!". Let me explain:

The old and the new players alike got hyped after experiencing SD and introduction of Focus system and awaited more awesome stuff that was promised to us in "year of quality", that's how you can explain the peak in February 2016. What steam charts represent after February 29 is exactly what we have since 2016 began. It's been over 8 months right now and we still can't even get one full major update as a whole.
We still are being forced to get into Archwing more (even nobody want's to), we MAYBE will finally get some proper pvp hosting since the last update mentioned something about it and we still are stuck with broken Focus System (yes, that great thing that was meant to be a end game goal to pursue that is useless in 90%).

What do we got in 2016 then you ask ?

    1. Cats,
    2. Tenno handball,
    3. Sprays from TF2.

Again, before you burn me alive - look at the charts. Look how fast the playerbase drops after each new update and that new peaks and getting lower with each new update. The weekend isn't even over and we are already dropping. That should be something to think about.

But now back to the main subject. Is SOTD so strong that it requires health drain scaled with duration ? I doubt that when I think of other 4th abilities like Nova's Molecular Prime, Rhino's Stomp, Loki's Irradiating Disarm. Hell, even Inaros 1st ability has way more team utility and CC potential than SOTD.

Removing health drain on shadows would simply act as QoL change since it's a pain in the &#! to keep tracking your shadows hp and don't try to imply that it would make SOTD broken in terms of min/max builds.

Remove the hp drain on shadows and most likely implement a cap on Shield of Shadows augment so that people won't cry for nerfs.

  11. Well I guess OP post sums it all pretty great.

Also if there are two things that i hate the most that would be:

    a) denying the fact that something is broken or requires a serious change,

    b) last minute, half-assed changes OR changes that were not shown to us on purpose.

Just to back up my words You will find both of these stated in this video (starting at around 1:50 mark):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMofgHsGwk8

When Volt rework was presented to us it looked near perfect. Of course the fact that DIscharge had a damage cap or that the shield carrying had a energy drain were not mentioned at all. Same thing with Nekros again - during the live showcase there was no health drain from SOTD. It's the second time this happens.

Pointless last minute changes or deliberate concealment ?

    I'll let You decide it.

  12. I also left quite some time ago but I'm still following the game since I dedicated a lot of time into it and any kind of news gets always my attention as I look for any opportunity to hop back in.

Unfortunately so far all I am able to notice since the 1st (out of 4 now as I've heard ?) of War Within update launched would be called "primed disappointment".

Everything we get teased with since Saryn Prime cinematic trailer (February 16th, 2016 I mind You) gets seriously delayed, warframe specific reworks turned out kinda mehhh. They fixed Volt's 4th ability but added damage cap, changed Shield Ability but added drain on shield carry and Speed changes were so bad that they even had to revert most of them, they fixed Nekros 4th ability but added health decay on shadows which will possibly get also removed judging by the backlash from the community.
Starchart got "reverted" back to look almost the same as in the past. So much wasted time, money and assets. A lot of missed ideas.

They still try to force Archwing on us, pvp is still kinda wonky mostly because of player-host based design, Focus system was introduced in December 2015 and almost nothing was updated since then even thou 90% of that system needs to be rebalanced/changed and now we got introduced to Lunaro which will (or even already is) be left abandoned and untouched for a year or more just like three previous gameplay modes I just mentioned.

Take a look at this chart and tell me I am wrong:

    http://steamcharts.com/app/230410#All

The good marketing brought a lot of new people but the rate at which we are loosing players is faster also than ever. More than a year ago my clan was full of people. Now I can see that 3-4 people were online during last weekend and that's pretty much it.

So either the final update of WW will bring something really jaw dropping and groundbreaking to give a reason to stick with the game or Warframe will have a big problem by the end of this year to dig it's way out of that hole it is heading into right now.

But lemme tell You what I did with the money I was saving up for Targis Prime armor from Mag vault (which in the end I didn't buy):

    - got myself a copy of Overwatch (a ton of fun, casual gameplay for a very small price, my top pick for now)
    - got a copy of DOOM as it was on a discount recently (awesome game, just fu**ing awesome)
    - downloaded Evolve Stage 2 (getting started can be a little rough as it has some amount of learning curve but one You sink into it a bit more it can really bring You a lot of hours of fun gameplay)
    - downloaded Killing Floor 2 (very nice and simple gameplay, try it and You'll love it !)

    ps.

sorry for the long post :P

White Knights to the Rescue, huh.

RPS has played Warframe numerous times. More than enough to know what it is. Moreover, the opinions formed quickly matter MORE to the game's bottom line. If people see your game as greedy or pay to win and quit in two hours...that matters, and no amount of unfair mud slinging will restore that lost revenue.

Desriny fanboy? It's a dedicated PC gaming site, so...I doubt it.

But go on White Knighting a game that's seen its average concurrent players drop by nearly 50℅ in a year...

Me, I want Warframe to succeed. I think DE needs to take media criticisms to heart and learn from them.

And that's the true cancer my friend. People who will keep telling You that everything is peachy even minutes before things fall apart.
Constructive criticism will always give You a chance to change and get better and learn from made mistakes. Being flooded with mindless-praises and surrounded by white-knights will destroy the company in no time.

I was about to make exact same topic but I found Yours fortunately.

Don't even get me started on the fact that when You quick attack with Your melee weapon it still uses the default holster position and after finished attack animation weapon just magically teleport to the "new custom" position.

Scratch that - 13 hotfixes and no fix yet :D

  16. Well quoting myself:

"So I said to myself some time ago: "I'm going to save some money, either DE will release Targis Armor as a separate bundle or i'm getting myself a copy of Overwatch." I guess i'll find out at 28th ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

At least I know what I'll be playing now for the next couple of months ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  17. With every update now and then You are balancing one frame to "remove the cheese" but You leave all other frames with similar issues untouched for another year or so. That creates frustration among community and that's the reason people call it a "nerf" - simple example - when Excalibur got reworked and his second ability "Radial Blin(g)d" received a LoS (line of sight) limitation while Mirage Disco Ball (Prism) was untouched yet that ability mechanic was exactly the same.

Excalibur Rework - June 2015 - LoS change for Radial Blind

Update 18.13 - May 2016 - LoS change for Prism

Do You see what I'm trying to say ? I know that balance is a huge problem in almost every online game out there and the amount of diversity in warframes and their abilities isn't really helping. Thankfully this is mainly a PVE game. Just think about the outrage if PVP was a thing in Warframe !

To summarize it all: maybe a change to the way DE is releasing updates should be revisited ? I can't speak for whole community of course but judging by the sheer amount of movement on official forums/reddit and the subjects discussed in them I feel that it would not be a bad think to look upon. The way it works now feels quite "chaotic". We never know which single mechanic or ability will be cherry picked and "nerfed".

    TL;DR

One bigger, more organised update focused on changing "cheese" game mechanics / abilities all at once instead of "nerfing" frames one by one every 11 months or so (see my Excal-Mirage example for better explanation).

  19. Unfortunately half of these passives look really mediocre and not well thought out. The ones like Oberon or Hydroid, that's a "no go" until You consider Corrupted Heavy Gunner as a wild animal :D.
I'd say hold Your horses - leave the passives for U19. Make a community poll and see what players have to say. The feedback is great and people already are flooding us with interesting ideas.

    As for Volt's rework:

    1. Shock - remove the augment (and apply the same action for other powers that have this) and make that empower a built-in feature.
    * Since we would make previous augment built it a good upgrade would make it to chain (as a lightning should actually do) between team players and apply the buff OR it would now heal players instead of buffing their damage. It would give Volt some nice alternative role. (See my changes proposed to Overload)

    2. Speed - I think that instead of making Volt leave behind some kind of "portal" for other players to interact with it would be better to instantly give all players in range of a cast a "charged state" and an interaction pop-up that last's for about 5 seconds. If a player will hit X within that 5 seconds while being "charged" they will apply speed to themselves. Of course other interactions like reviving and various console/button interactions should have priority over it.
    * Current augment is great and I think all will agree it should stay as it is.

    3. Shield - This one is tricky. The solution I come up with is the following:
    a) Limit the amount of shields Volt can place to 4.
    b) Make this ability a channel with increased cost with each shield placed (1e/s for 1 shield, 2e/s for 2 shields etc)
    c) Hold X button for 2 seconds to "overload" all placed shields and make them explode applying electricity status effect within 5m (number should be tweaked) around them.
    d) + add all of the proposed changes done in Your rework (thou I must say ability to pick up shield and run with it does not appeal to me too much. Just a personal opinion).
    * Don't really have any good idea for an augment here. Maybe it could return portion of incoming damage back at enemies ? Or maybe it would now bounce back any projectile-based attacks like bombard rockets etc ?

    4. Overload - Well, his ultimate is soo bad that frankly speaking any change is welcome. I'm really curious to see how it will work with changes You have made.
A cool idea that came up to me once was to make his ulti more defensive oriented. Instead of making damage, Overload would now surround yourself and players within range with an electrically charged bubble that repels enemies and prevents incoming damage acting exactly the same as Nezha's Warding Halo (If anyone of You played Electricity power in DCUO will remember ability called Flux as it did exactly the same).
    * Also an augment idea for this ability would be that each bubble will heal a player over time while active. With addition to his Shock augment it would make Volt much, much more team friendly.

Just a few of my ideas for a rework. I'm not sure how much sense it would make to others but I hope someone will see some useful ideas in here :)
