  1. He's showing a single mod which has costed him 10's of mods and quite a huge amount of credits, and then showing it off on level 1 enemies. How's that proof of anything, except for proving that even with a mod like this the mobs aren't even dieing that quickly?

I dislike this method by a lot. It's way cheaper on both the amount of mods and credits to level up different mods alongside of each other, maxing multishot the quickest and then just looking at how much extra damage upgrading a certain mod costs. Of course you want to have your Hornet Strike upgraded to it's max at some point, but just calculate your power drain on other mods and only level those other mods to a certain level to always have room to upgrade your Hornet Strike. Why you would level only one mod is competely beyond me and an incredibly stupid method.

  2. Err, there's quite a bit in this thread that's actually not entirely true.

Multishot doesn't grant you a chance of shooting an arrow, it's guaranteed. So, with 100% MS, you'll get double the damage per bullet/arrow, since it'll shoot an extra one for every 1 bullet/arrow you shoot. If the percentage is 50%, it'll shoot one for the first one you fired, and a guaranteed second one for every second shot. After that, you'll get another shot without the added bullet/arrow, and after that you'll get a double one. This means with 120% MS, you'll always shoot 2 bullets/arrows, and adding to that you'll shoot a tripple shot every 5th bullet. With shotguns it works a bit differently, since it multiplies the amount of pellets that you shoot per round, but the basics still apply there.

Why it's such a sought after mod is because it literally increases your DPS by the percentage of the multishot mod. Consider this: You have a choice of 4 mods. Multishot, electrical damage, freeze damage and normal damage. Now, let's assume they all have a value of 50%. If you slot in the electrical damage, freeze damage and normal damage mods, your DPS will increase by 150%, because 50% times 3 = 150%. Now, if you slot in a 50% MS mod with the freeze damage and normal damage mods, you'll get a 100% damage increase because of the freeze and normal damage mods. But on top of that, all of those damage numbers will be multiplied by the percentage of your multishot, you'll end up with an increase of 100% + (100% x 50%) = 175%. Numbers are probably a bit off because I didn't calculate base damage with this, but the point is, multishot increases damage on all your elemental damage mods as well, while just slotting in elemental ones just increase the damage by that flat percentage.

Later on when you have so many elemental damages slotted in, adding in a, for example, 100% multishot will make all those damages double. I hope I made it explainable enough, I'm kinda bad at this.

  3. Perhaps a case of a mistaken embargo on that info? Also, it's not like it was ever hard to get a beta key for this game.. Closed beta just meant you had to google. Why is this worth being upset about? They're an independent developer. I take that to mean a lot of people have to wear a lot of hats because they just don't have the resources of a big shop. Maybe I'm wrong and they're losing their mojo, but my first guess would be they are working their collective asses off with a lot of deadlines (which I almost spelled deadaliens).

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are working their &#! off on the game right now, especially because there was a lot of deadlines lately. I also don't care if the game is in either Closed Beta, Open Beta or full release, but it's being used as a promotional tool. That means you want to inform players before stuff like that actually happens. It also appears that they don't have their own plans straighten up if stuff like the Open Beta advertisement happens. Also, in the case of the Steam page, it's been said earlier that it didn't say it was in Closed Beta, and DE_Steve has 'only' just responded he acknowledged the fault. You're talking about a Steam release, a big thing in the promotion of the game. It's silly to not read the description on your own game before it's being set online, and honestly, this was so easily avoidable I'm asking myself why it even went through like this.

All I'm saying, there's been a lot of small mistakes from DE lately, they need to watch out. I'm not saying this because I personally care, but I do care where this game ends up, and if these kinds of mistakes keep coming it might be bad news. I still love the game personally and the amount of interaction between the developers and the community (especially before it went sort of silent just before update 7 and afterwards), that doesn't mean I can't criticize them for their mistakes, even if it's for their own good.

  4. So, Warframe has been released on Steam. Apart from seeing no actual download link on the Steam, it also doesn't say anywhere that the game is still in open beta. On top of that, the second trailer that was added says 'Warframe Launch Trailer'.

Please don't tell me the game actually went into full release. First of all, why the hell is DE so silent about this? Second of all, if the game ISN'T in full release, why the hell is this not mentioned on Steam at all?

I've been loving DE the past time since I've started playing this game, but there's more and more signs showing this is going down a wrong path. The hell is happening?

EDIT: Seems a different thread was opened about this 7 minutes ago that I didn't see before starting this, but point still stands. Apart from all the whining that might occur once Steam players hit the forums, I still would like to see some clarity why this is all happening like it is. Entering Open Beta was way too silent already, are they making the same mistake about a week later?

  5. NegimaSonic, first of all, thanks for the great testing results. I'm sure this took you quite a while to document and play. I'll add all the rewards I didn't have in my own opening post that you got in these test results and notify people to scroll down to your post for further information.

Also, going on your higher level tests, it does indeed seem like it doesn't matter one bit what level or faction you are doing towards the actual end of mission reward.

  6. I've posted my findings about M Prime and other low level missions with a mod reward on this thread:

    https://forums.warfr...re/#entry151146

Vitality indeed seems to be a fairly common drop there. However, shield capacity mods don't seem to be in the loot table. I've ran M Prime atleast 50 times and the mods listed in that thread were the only ones I saw.

It's a fairly reliable way to get sprint speed mods though.

  7. Oh man I wish I lived in the US. :'[

I want to go to these game events too! xD

Same. I also live in Europe and the only game conventions I've been able to attend are smaller Dutch game conventions. Those were still awesome though, would've loved to attend a bigger one.

And no, I haven't been able to go to Games convention in Leipzig because either nobody felt like coming with me, or because I had no moneys to go there in the first place. I'm a sad panda.

    PS: Dagnome, I'm jelly.

  8. He becomes invisible but will reappear after running to a different location. Go to the marker on the minimap to figure out his new location. Equip electric mods on your weapons to take care of him easily.

Yes, this is how he should behave and does behave most of the time, but I too had the problem that he never reappeared in a mission. We waited for atleast 5 minutes and suddenly the game said "Target neutralized, good job Tenno" or something along those lines, while there was no loot anywhere, and nobody in the party even saw him. It's save to say he just bugs out every once in a while. Just retry the mission whenever he does this, it's only a rare occurance.

  9. Yep all complain about the new mods systhem was all base on not been able to maxs out their caracter 48 hours after then update 7 lol

this community as so much biased peoples in it its not even funny

There's a difference between having to play for several months to max out a single mod or doing it in 48 hours. Don't shoot people down if you don't know what you're talking about.

  10. No not really. I'm saying the cores are too expensive to even be used with the "income" you get from playing. Its as if they are designed to be sold instead of used. Cause after 1 BP+craft all my initial money from pre U7 was gone. What I really should have done is maxed out my ult, and went farming. Instead now I'm progressing like a n00b because I only have 160% shields and 50% health boosts.

EDIT: plus. fusion core rares are broken atm. https://forums.warfr...balances-again/

Previously after the price fix, they were about 2x as effective as any other core. Now they are MORE expensive... Not sure what the deal is.. but until its official or it gets fixed I'm not selling my cores.

But you're, again, looking at it from a standpoint from someone that played before update 7 as well. The thing you're actually complaining about is that you got the fusion cores as a compensation for your old mods. Newer players find way less fusion cores and actually does find the credits to use the few fusion cores they find, because they don't have 300 of them sitting in their inventory.

I don't know about the core effectiveness being broken again, and that is indeed a real issue. But I honestly still think that the price fusing with them before this hotfix wasn't even all that broken. There's still plenty of bugs though, like fusion cores decreasing fusing power, The exact same cores doing different amounts of fusing, etc etc. That I agree with, those need to be fixed.

  11. He's exaggerating, but it's still up there. The community was complaining about not having a credit sink, now they complain about the credit sink... I just have to lol. Anyways, I agree with Zarvok that the XP added by fusing should be higher than it is now.

Also, aMannus - Fun fact, disencouraging is not a word; although discouraging is.

Yeah, that's why I said I didn't know the exact numbers. What I do know though, is that if I would've put everything I farmed the last 3 days into only my shield capacity mod, I wouldn't even come close to my next rank. Which still means it would take me about a week to rank it up to rank 7. Now consider everything is exponential, so it would've taken me 7 weeks to go to the rank after that, etc etc. It is slightly exaggerated, but it really is impossible to get to the max rank. I'm fine with it so far, because as I said, having a rank 6 shield capacity mod is more than plenty for pretty much everything, but still.

Also, lol, I didn't even know about discouraging. You learn something new everyday :)

Thats only because you were one of the people that started off with loads of credits to begin with. Ask anyone who played pre U7 and started U7 with less than 100k credits. I've got 300ish cores sitting around and 8k credits to my name and I dont even USE fusion cores to level my mods. All ive been doing is fusing identical mods (not even crap into useful stuff) and I barely have any credits. My 120k starting credits dissapeared into my 100k sentinel, then crafting it. XD

Aren't you actually agreeing with me then? The only reason everyone is lacking credits is because they had this many fusion cores to begin with. And fusing with those cores is expensive, hence it looks like you're always lacking credits. I had the exact same thing and actually 'only' had a million at the start of update 7 as well. After fusing with those cores I still had 250 cores left without any credits. I slowly used the cores over the last couple of days while farming a lot for credits. After that, credits wasn't an issue anymore, it was having any mods to actually fuse my stuff with. Sure, I barely have anything to actually build like warframes and stuff, but it's not something that limits you as much as you thought. Or well, that is, if you're not using fusion cores to fuse stuff with, just like any other beginning player.

  12. Credits don't end up being the gating mechanism to upgrading at all really. You can actually make enough credits doing certain missions that it keeps up with any mods you find. RNG of mods is what is going to gate your progress, since fusing a mod that isn't a fusion core or a mirror of the original gives really low amounts of exp.

This. The only reason why everyone was lacking credits was because they had so many fusion cores to fuse with, which are really expensive to fuse with. Newer players will find themselves short of mods and/or fusion cores more often than credits. I kind of noticed this as soon as I actually ran out of my 350 fusion cores. Now, finding mods and new fusion cores to level up my other mods with is a more contraining factor than gathering credits. It's mostly like this for me now: Farm Defense mission for 30 minutes to an hour, then do one or two Tolstoj runs for Cronus BP's to sell. And I'm still lacking mods more than I'm lacking mods by a long shot.

Is this true? @___@ I heard the credit numbers were bugged though, but either way.

I don't know about the exact number of credits needed, I don't even have the fusion cores/mods to test it out, but I do know it literally would end up in the millions to upgrade shield capacity to rank 10. Now, this is a mod that doesn't need to be rank 10 for it to be good, not even close, but it's still disencouraging someone to even level it beyond rank 6 or 7 right now.

The display bug, according to my knowledge, was fixed a couple of hotfixes ago.

  13. Not even one suggestion? It's a open beta and they realy care about our feedback and make changes.

Well I did suggest maybe taking a day off the build time for Warframes, 2 days still seems fair for people that didnt spend money. As for the Qualification test, either take the 24 hour cool down out, lower it, or make it so you can spend Credits or even Plat to get rid of it or lower the time.

Thats all I can think of really, I didnt really want to mention it for fear of starting a huge fight or something.

Probta16, seriously? This is general discussions, it could go about anything related to Warframe. Why would it always need suggestions? I can understand perfectly that a new player wants to voice his opinion and gain some extra information along the way. Atleast his concerns are viable. Even outside of this 'everything goes in this forum' his/her post actually had good feedback and honestly, in the middle of these veteran players, feedback from new players is MORE than welcome.

  14. In earlier threads, I agreed with this point of view, but now, I realised how ridiculous the exponential costs are after a certain stage. Sure, it's something to work towards and it shouldn't be gotten in a week. But as it stands now, I would have to farm a week to get enough mods/credits to get to rank 7 on my shield capacity. Now if I would like to get rank 8, it would've been around 7 weeks. Then, rank 9, it would take me a year. Rank 10 would be 7 years. This might sound ridiculous right now, but credit costs and mod costs really do rise THIS quickly.

So, I agree and disagree. They should be really expensive, but needing 10 million credits and 3000 mods to max a single shield card doesn't give you a goal, it discourages even trying.

  15. For the time building several things take, you'll notice as soon as you get your first warframe building, you have those 3 days to farm for the next warframe you want. This way you'll always have a goal to play towards and it'll mostly just be new warframes raining in every so many days. Not to mention warframes are supposed to be a special deal. If you would've gotten a new one every day, where's the fun in getting them?

I haven't tried the new qualification missions yet because I already was a fairly high rank before update 7, but it seems more people were having some kind of issue with it. Just keep in mind points towards the next mastery rank DO count even though you didn't qualify, so none of your points will be lost whatsoever. Why they don't mention that ingame is beyond me though.
