  1. I'm actually extremely excited about the Dread, even if it's just yet another nataruk-like bow in the pile (Duviri brought 3 of these lol). I love bows, and nataruk has been one of my favorite weapons in the game, so I'm just enjoying trying them all out to see which one ends up my favorite. I didnt play this week yet, but I'll probably go for the zylok as well hoping the aoe gets fixed. Since I sold my hate and despair long ago and DE doesn't seem to want my plat by not allowing me to buy them from the market.
  2. The grind feels much more bearable once you engage in the platinum trade/economy. You don't need to buy it (although that's nice to support the game). Just use warframe.market, sell the stuff you got from grinding that you're not using, then use the plat to buy the stuff you want and didn't get due to RNG. It takes some time browsing the market to figure out the stuff more worth selling, but once you get into the hang of it it's effortless. As for the relics you absolutely need to do "rad shares" in recruit chat to get the rare prime parts you want more easily. Basically 4 people who want the same part all go in with the same radiant relic to increase the odds. Just recruit people in recruit chat. It's easier to find rad share squads for the current primes and unvaultings.
  3. To be fair there's Nightwave as well. But frankly I don't even see Duviri genesis as a weekly grind. It's just a prolonged one. Shards and Nightwave is more infinite, whereas the genesis adapters are limited. For someone like myself who isn't a 100% completionist, I feel like I'm almost done with the system. This is the last week and after that there's like 3 weapons or so that I missed the first time around and still want to acquire. Then I'm done, unless DE keeps adding genesis nonstop from now on, which I somehow doubt considering how they operate with an eye on new content. We'll probably get another batch or two and that's it. As for the devstream, I'm just happy they added another option to get the arcanes, it was kinda ridiculous before. I would have prefered an alternative that didn't rely on RNG so much or put me through even more bounties grinding, but at least I'll be able to farm pathos and arcanes in the same run.
  4. Just wanted to leave this here, dread and hate incarnon early access:
  5. Right now I think the stalker beacon from Baro is the best solution for you. That's how I farmed the smoking body ephemera a while back. Specially with Tennocon coming soon, you can buy and get access to the ticket for Baro's full inventory. But I certainly think DE needs to do something about the Stalker bundle/weapons. Either allow you to purchase the bundle despite having smoke color palette already, or allowing us to buy the weapons individually, even if they make them more expensive than other weapons. I sold my hate and despair long ago when I was still new to the game to free up weapon slots and I'm also kinda frustrated now having to farm them again for incarnon and being completely locked out and unable to buy the bundle.
  6. While merciless may be the "default" and fit in more situations, there's a case for other arcanes as well. For bosses (this includes archon hunts), merciless is pretty bad. I've been using frostbite, since you can stack it super fast by just firing a clip of a cold+viral secondary and then shoot the boss with the primary. For disruption/demolysts you're better off using other arcanes with an easier stack and higher uptime as well, either dexterity, deadhead or even frostbite. Cascadia flare is also much better for secondaries that can stack a lot of heat. Merciless is just the low effort, AoE friendly one. And as such the most popular in WF.
  7. Thanks! If I end up forma'ing the soma again I'll replace hata satya for another mod then, maybe hammer shot or whatnot. I do know hata satya doesn't work on the incarnon, but I haven't decided if I'll bother re-forma'ing it or keep the regular version instead for now and wait to see if DE will change or buff anything first. Because for now the only cool thing for me has been the overshield perk gimmick.
  8. I got to try it out today, and I have to say it's very fun! I had a pure crit/HM on my old soma (no elementals) and together with primed shred and rolling guard the perk was enough to keep me alive for the whole mission (SP survival). Just spray into hallways and keep changing targets so the bleed does its thing. I'll probably replace my hata satya mod for a fanged fusillade if I can be bothered to forma it one more time, and pick the status chance perk at the end to make it even more effective at proc'ing the overshields. It's not the strongest weapon around for sure, but it's a very cool gimmick. Also the overshields did seem to stack for me, going all the way to cap.
  9. I'm happy to hear that. I picked up the adapter yesterday despite all the controversy and criticism mostly to try out this perk. Hopefully DE can buff it a little when they do a balance pass for the incarnon weapons, it does seem a bit lackluster when compared to some other incarnons. But I want to try it out myself.
  10. I didn't make my picks this week yet, been a busy day. Trying to decide if I go for the ack & brunt or soma. I already have a Soma all built and forma'ed, and I have a feeling DE might buff it later, but man, people have been really disappointed with it lol. Ack and brunt looks sweet, and I love the combo save holster perk, but I'd have to forma it from scratch.
  11. I agree with the general sentiment of your OP: some of the old game modes feel very outdated, and we need new ones because that's the bread and butter of the game. However I disagree with you about the more recent game modes not counting, for me they do. I'm talking about Zariman's cascade/flood/armaggedon, as well as conjunction survival and mirror defense. What DE needs to do is just integrate them with the rest of the game, so they're not just tiny content islands to get specific rewards. They already took a first step by putting void flood in Circuit's rotation together with the other ancient game modes there. But they need to go ahead and add these game modes to void fissures, arbitrations, sorties, archon hunts, etc. So that they truly become a part of the core WF experience. They did it for disruption back then, it was really well integrated into the rest of the game. I don't know why they're neglecting Zariman missions like this, cascade is my favorite game mode, even more than disruption. Maybe it's because of lore reasons, but I really don't think that should be a reason to hinder gameplay. EDIT: Even if Zariman missions can't be added to newbie missions like void fissures because of the operator component, it could still be added to late game activities like arbitrations and archon hunts that guaranteed all players have already gone through their operator. Or alternatively, they can just make the thrax completely killable by normal guns like they did in Circuit.
  12. I feel like void fissure mission lists desperately need a makeover. It's one of the main activities you keep doing on WF from newbie to endgame, and it severely lacks variety compared to what the game as a whole has to offer. I like the idea of permanent cycles so you can always pick the mission types you prefer, but I also think DE needs to add more missions and tilesets to it as well: Lua, Orokin Derelict, Zariman's new missions (cascade, etc.).
  13. Pablo said it himself a while ago: AoE is perfectly fine and a part of WF's power fantasy as long as: 1) it doesn't allow for game automation/afk play; 2) it's not too disruptive to other players; 3) it doesn't overshadow all other weapons. The new incarnon AoEs, despite their extreme power, are still less disruptive and more tame in range than the old primed firestorm zarr/bramma meta blowing up two floors worth of enemies in a single shot. The only exception for me atm seems to be the torid, maybe. That one does seem to be a bit out of control compared to other beam AoEs, I'm still not fully convinced there isn't some unintended bug going on making it perform better than it should.
  14. No way! Parkour velocity is by far my favorite shard attribute to give to my favorite frames. Utility is so much better than raw stats power in a game with so much overkill like WF.
  15. After testing the torid for a while, it's just so stupid strong lol.... I have a feeling it's going to end up nerfed. Something just feels off about those chained beams, like they forgot to add target caps or something.
  16. I'm kinda disappointed with what the torid became, just a generic chaining beam. Torid has been one of my favorite weapons since I started playing the game, its original gimmick of the status cloud bombs was really cool and unique, I really wish they would have kept it and just made it stronger.
  17. I picked torid and miter this week and they're both incredibly strong, but I'll be honest here: I'm kinda disappointed with what the torid became, just a generic chaining beam. Torid has been one of my favorite weapons since I started playing the game, its original gimmick of the status cloud bombs was really cool and unique, I really wish they would have kept it and just made it stronger.
  18. Shield gating is completely unecessary with enemy levels up to 500. Health tanking is a bit more expensive to mod for, but WAY easier and more chill to play. However past that level shield gating is kinda necessary if you want to actually play the game engaging with the enemies, instead of cheesing with invisibility or camping in a single spot for hours behind walls and obstacles (see the video above someone posted). Decaying dragon key makes it easier and a lot cheaper to build for in most frames, but it's not even necessary. It'll just require more careful builds and possibly a helminth slot. Proof of that are all the level caps people are already doing in Circuit. I don't know why all the "nerf shield gate abuse!" threads when it's really only relevant for endurance runs. What's the % of the player base doing endurance runs? I guess people these days just turned off their brains and really live their lives only based on what youtube influencers say.
  19. Oh ok. Got it. But no, you must be misremembering. Shields didn't prevent one shots prior to the 2020 update. You were one shot for sure. It was the main argument why players kept asking for shield gating.
  20. There wasn't anything in the game that prevented one shot before shield gating. That came as a test with hildryn and then the 2020 update. Before that it was one shot land. The way people survived before was invisibility or camping rooms.
  21. I see a stark difference between these new AoE incarnons and the previous zarr/bramma meta. It's still power fantasy, but there's more pacing and restraint, not to mention engagement with the game. You need to get a few headshots every now and again, and the AoE radius is roughly half of what the previous weapons possessed. It seems to be a lot more in tune with the vision Pablo has for the game. They still want a power fantasy, but with more engagement and a build up. I personally like it. The fact it's bringing old dead weapons back into the meta is the icing on the cake.
  22. ☝️ This. I honestly don't see that happening any time soon. I mean, DE is putting WF on mobiles next! While yes, some gaming smartphones are incredible, those are few and far between. Look, I get it. I have a very old budget gaming PC. But it can still handle the game. Crossplay with switch and maybe mobiles in the future is just going to be more host glitches, migrations and other weirdness with DE's netcode. Turning off crossplay turns the game into a deadzone so I keep it on with a lower max ping than my usual. And I just get used to it and accept the extra bumps and glitches. But I was just honestly answering the OP's question. For my own personal experience nothing good came out of crossplay since I didn't have friends in other platforms. In fact it made my game experience worse.
  23. Agreed. As a PC player WF is significantly worse since crossplay. Host glitches, loading times, spawns, but also console cert times for updates. Things got fixed a lot faster for PC before.
  24. I actually enjoy cascade more, exactly because of this. It's a lot more frantic and fast paced, and it seamlessly integrate operator and warframe combat. Both need to be in top shape. Granted, it's a lot more restrictive in terms of builds, and because of this many times I prefer to play disruption to try out different loadouts. As for circuit, so far I find it ridiculously fun with the random loadouts and decrees. It's kind of like an RNG curveball. Maybe it'll get boring later on due to the OPness of the decrees making enemies melt so effortlessly, but I thought the same thing when DE heavily nerfed enemies ehp and all it did was make a ton more weapons and loadouts feasible for level cap. As for the arcanes, I didn't use any yet, but longbow sharpshot sounds ridiculously overkill on paper. Specially in this new age of huge energy projectile bows. All I really wish for was that DE made survival (specially conjunction) as fast scaling as the newer game modes since disruption, but I guess it's probably impossible or really hard to do with the old code.
