  1. All those chairs and stuff and we can't even sit on them.

WHAT GOOD IS OUR DOJO IF WE CAN'T SIT ON THE CHAIRS?!

Edit: I guess I'll settle with all the new weapons. Hope everyone else gets them as fast as we did!

You'll probably have to pay 500 plat in order to get the ability to sit on chairs

  2. lol one of my posts when Glaive went live was "I hope this doesn't become a trend" soon as a new Warframe comes out...

    "Only Plat or Alerts, enjoy!"

    *sigh*

    It became a trend...

    Yay for greed...

I already stopped playing this game acouple weeks ago while I was waiting for update 8 and they come out with another patch aimed to either make you stare at twitter or pay real money for an overpriced in-game item.

Well back to staring at twitter while I play other games.

  3. It's a very long video just for some relatively easy to understand facts about games.

You have to reward your players but you have to have some sort of grind otherwise the rewards feel empty.

The grind though, should feel fun. Easiest way to do this is give players different ways to grind, more options, more fun.

If the grind isn't fun, then no matter how good the rewards are you eventually realize you don't like the game

  4. Sorry guys - to be honest I've been head down on update 7. Usually I engage way more. Partly I avoid forums for a small stretch becaues it can be a lot of noise (rage/change X/Y is OP/y u nerf my fav) that makes forward thinking impossible for my small mind.

We're in a polish/test mindset right now, so it is close (Measured in days, not weeks)!

Conversion system is pretty good I think. The new mod system is more attractive, deeper, but very much rooted in the old for its update 7 incarnation. The old mods can be fused into new ones to boost them up lightning fast. 2k mods is a gold mine and extremely valuable.

Will post details when I'm out of the fire.

    Thanks for the update :)

  5. So, apparently, when you have a PISTOL MASTER CHALLENGE, which asks you to kill 20 enemys with your pistol, if you use the Boltor, it counts towards that challenge..

But as we know, boltor is a rifle ( i think.. because it takes riffle ammo ).. so.. don't know if it's a bug or not, but i decided to post it anyway..

Yea it also counts for get 5 kills while Sliding if you kill them with the Boltor/Bolto/Akbolto whether you're sliding or not.

  6. I Found Most Weapons To Be Useless.

Also, yes, they are over-priced. And there's a reason for that. DE isn't interested in selling you weapons or warframes. If they were, they wouldn't be offering free ways to get them. DE is insterested in selling potatoes, boosters and slots, things that aren't overpriced at all.

If the frames and weapons weren't overpriced, too many people would buy them. And with each frame/weapon that you buy, you reduce your potential gameplay-time by a certain amount. Dude X that buys everything will try everything, max everything and grow tired of everything in one week, not giving DE one peny more.

Dude Y that buy boosters and potatoes will farm the mats and BP's to build everything else. And in the time it takes for them to do that, DE will have enough time to release even more frames and even more weapons. Which will "encourage" you to buy more slots, more boosters and more potatoes in a never-ending interest in the game. Apply some averages, and Dude Y will give DE more money than Dude X.

I hope that i made any sense.

    ^ He totally makes sense.

A friend of mine joined after buying the $250 founder, wanted to use the Gorgon and the Hek but realized he had to grind for awhile in order to use them. (Have to be Rank 3 and 4) Normally this would motivate people to coninute playing the game to be able to use those guns, but I think he just quit cause he didn't want to have to use bad weapons in the mean time lol. Though, I figure if he was able to use those guns from the start, once he maxed them he wouldn't have anything to do seeing as he could just buy all the frames with plat.

It's odd with this game, the more stuff you pay for, the less reason you have to continue playing.

Though I guess it's the same for games like Smite/League of Legends, if you buy all the heroes, you lose incentive to continue playing. (If you're just trying to be casual about it)

  7. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see super boss fights in the future, but in the context of this being a coop thrid person action game, not it being some WOW dungeon raid.

Well it already has elements of boss fights, they're just horribly designed ATM.

The difference between bosses in Warframe from bosses in like WoW, The Secret World, etc is that Warframe's bosses are badly designed.

  8. The endgame doesn't need to necesarily be this old formula that I, personally, got tired of. Unless they start giving the Warframes more skills (which would be great) I don't see how tanking or healing is going to work. They can get inspiration for bosses from lots of places, such as singleplayer games, or online games that don't use that boring setup.

Lol i already stated that when I said they should incorporate design elements found in first person shooter games. As far as online games that don't use that boring setup of healer/tank/dps. Name a challenging multiplayer pve game that has a class system and bosses that doesn't. (Good luck, oh BTW Borderlands is not challenging, though the tank/healer/dps setup exists in that game as well) Seems to me you're referencing some magical fairy tale game that doesn't actually exist. The only game that I can think of that comes close is Vindictus, but there's still elements of tank/healer/dps in that game as well.

Anyway, in my opinion they should work on the environments too, not only just the abilities and tactics required to kill the boss, but make the places where you are fighting the boss more interesting, they should let you interact with the environment more, maybe the tactics should be based on the environment. Open spaces like we currently have are too monotonous.

Oh definitely, boss rooms should be designed specifically for that boss so it can use environmental hazards like I already said.

As far as your inability to find people you enjoy playing with, there currently is a very low population of active players which will hopefully grow once the game ends closed beta and there's a reason to continue playing the game once you beat it (aka an end-game) Lots of players just sit around waiting for alerts to happen cause currently that's the only end-game available sadly.

  9. ^

While I understand it's a boring old formula, there is currently no endgame, No challenge what-so-ever. It's kind of a joke.

Until someone can magically come up with a better idea for end-game PVE content that isn't $&*&*#(%&ly easy or boring, the tank/healer/dps set up works as well as all the examples of good boss fights I gave.

As far as me mentioning the need to Tank and heal for a boss...

Why have tanky Warframes like Rhino and Frost if they're not being utilized? Why have a healer/support frames like Trinity/Mag if it's not being utilized? I didn't design the classes, but if you're going to try to give them roles allow them to fulfil those roles.

Like seriously if during a boss fight your just going to give someone a target to shoot and a health bar to drain the only 2 Warframes you'd need is Excal for his Ult and Mag for her Bullet Attractor (And Trinity soley for energy regen not healing). There'd be no reason to even have tank or healer frames when the only thing you need to do is Max DPS.

Oh yea and by Area Denial abilities I mean like certain areas of the fight that become dangerous if you stay in them. Meaning you have to actually dodge stuff. This already exists for Jackel with the bombs he tosses out in a semi-circle infront of him. Omg you mean ninjas should be dodging stuff? (That's just crazy talk!)

But bad ability design is like Lech Kril's icewave, it's almost impossible to predict when it's about to go off and it's pretty hard to dodge, but getting hit by it isn't even that threatening. There should be more warning before it goes off to give the player time to react and the icewave itself should be devastating (like Jackel's bombs)

Another example of bad ability design. The missiles on Hyena, they can actually travel through certain boxes and pillars aka solid objects.

And yes, there's solo play, but there could be bosses that are soloable and bosses that OMG require teamwork. Not like I'm saying the bosses should require more than 4 people. If you're so anti-social that you can't find 3 other good people to kill a boss with you really need to get out more. The bosses that aren't could just have a higher chance of dropping better loot. Meaning you won't get worse loot doing a boss solo but you'll get the same quality loot more often as a team. It's all about good design. They already do reward you more when you play with others instead of solo, this would just extend it to bosses as well.

  10. Currently the end-game is lacking, what should be set up is raid bosses and just more challenging bosses over all that have a loot table setup to encourage doing it multiple times, but not making it impossible to get what you need. You can use bosses from regular MMORPGs as reference to a good boss fight, yes you can aim in Warframe and use melee combat so it kind of inhibits your design if you're trying to completely copy a boss from let's say World of Warcraft, since it's the most popular MMO, but you can still take things from those genres in order to design a good boss.

    -Area denial abilities,

-Having to tank the boss (And not just exploiting bad pathing)

    -The need for a healer

-Having to switch targets throughout the fight,

-Having to use Crowd Control abilities

-Multiple Roles required by the group

    -Situational Awareness

Then add in design elements that first person shooters utilize and Warframe utilizes.

-Having to hack a terminal for whatever reason during a boss fight

-Have to target a specific body part or location for maximum damage

-The use of movement abilities to avoid dangerous situations and get to places normally impossible to get to

What's lacking right now is just really good and challenging boss design as well as the rewards for killing such a boss. I hope they get around to creating a more interesting end-game.

As easy as The Jackle is to kill, he's one of the few bosses who utilizes a decent strategy required to kill him, though the fact that he's so easily stun locked is a problem. (Which is actually a problem with lots of bosses)

The loot from bosses shouldn't just be mats and Warframe blueprints but extend to only getting certain mods from certain bosses (or whatever is replacing mods in Update 7) Or at least bosses having a much higher droprate to drop high quality mods (or whatever)

Farming Xini/OuterTerm for hours on end for mods shouldn't be the end game, challenging boss fights and more strategy than just pressing "4" each time a wave gets to a cyropod, should be the end game.

And could we get a boss that just stands still please? There's many bosses in WoW where they're litterally rooted in place, you can make a boss challenging without requiring him to move around. That way you don't have to worry about bad pathing or people exploiting the pathing. Could be as simple as making a boss a computer terminal who went out of control and activates turrets around the room to fire at you and causes environmental hazards and summons minions. (For a Sci-Fi feel look at good boss designs from The Secret World)

  11. May i suggest a room in the white tower that allows you to "preview" a frame by viewing video of it in the field. The whole loaning idea doesnt make any sense, if they just had extras laying around i doubt they would not just give them to you. XD also until such a thing exists, research does the mind and body good for making decisions on frames

Yea research is currently the best option and as far as Renting I don't think that'd work in a game like this where XP is calculated per weapon and Warframe and not as a whole to be spent on anything. (PlanetSide2)

What could be added is a way to try out each Warframe in a tutorial mission of all that Warframe's abilities. To see which Warframe you would most prefer to use. With the additions they're making to the "White Tower" or "Dojo" whatever they want to call it in Update 7, I'm thinking this feature could be added so that each player wouldn't only be able to just read up on what a Warframe can do but experience it for themselves.

  12. I had some really odd bugs happen to me earlier guess I should post them in bugs section lol.

Anyway I'll tell ya them anyway.

1st Bug: My friend got hit with an electric-stun rollerballthingy, I shot it off him but he stayed stunned forever. I had to exit the mission and he was still stunned like 4 minutes later. (Wasn't taking dmg, just stuck in place)

2nd Bug; We killed Jackel and afterwards we had to hack ourselves out of a lockdown but it didn't open any of the doors. We were trapped around the Jackel room and it wasn't allowing us to hack any consoles to free ourselves. We both had to Abort.

  13. Well today I was teaching a friend about the game (he bought a 250 founder pack to get in) And saw an Alert mission pop up. Was only Rifle Amp but I wanted to get it for him. Didn't read that it was a lvl 50 Assassination mission lol.

So we spend the next 30 minutes trying to kill a lvl 50 Tyr Regor with a lvl 9 Trinity and my lvl 30 Ash. He kept energy syphon on him while standing far back and I just went to town with Smoke Bomb and melee attacks cause my rifle ammo ran out quick lol.

We got him in the end and I taught him how rough this game can get lol.

  14. I did hear with a properly modded Dual Zoran, you can clear entire rooms with an invisible Loki, however...

Oh I don't doubt it, I just supercharged my Ash instead. He can do the same thing, but i think shorter duration on Ash's invis.

Though he gets the AoE stagger on cast. Helps to hold enemies down so they don't run off.

  15. I only like the idea of having different genders for each warframe so players could have more customization for each one.

For example, Ember is freakishly hideous to me, I'd like to be able to pick a male version just so she doesn't look like a robot chicken ninja on fire. Hopefully they would design the male one to look more bad-azz.

As far as the whole designing Warframes like heroes from League of Legends? No, no, no, no, no, no... No? No!

If you focused completely on just making tons of Warframes (like there's 100+ heroes in League of Legends) a ton of them would feel the same and it would take resources away from designing more content. It's basically focusing completely on Horizontal Progression instead of Vertical Progression.

(For those who don't know what Horizontal Progression is, it's basically rerolling your character as a different class, things you can do in just about any game.. Vertical progression is more content in the form of higher levels, new enemies, raid bosses, etc)

I don't think there should even be more than like 20-30 warframes max. There's already Warframes that are freakishly similar. (Rhino + Frost, Loki + Ash, Mag + Volt, + Nyx)

I'd much prefer being able to level our existing frames up to higher levels and unlock new abilities for them. While facing progressively harder enemies/bosses. New Weapons and higher level weapons is good too, but there shouldn't be tons of classes.

For your enjoyment, the Ember concept Art.

  16. All 3 of Mag's first abilities are horribly situational (basically only useful in boss fights), while Crush is freakishly godlike in every other situation.

As far as how useless pull might be? I find it works way better than the shield recharge/defuse ability, now that ability is pretty bleh. Perhaps when/if they ever allow us to level up to higher levels it'll become a good heal during boss fights but currently there's really no need to waste your energy on it seeing as if someone dies you can just pull them to safety and res them and most bosses shields go down pretty quick anyway.

Though the Stun on pull (it's supposed to stun enemies, but it only staggers for a sec) could be buffed.

  17. Wouldnt be great if you can decide to play with two diferent guns:

a lex at left side a lato at the right side..

Ok trying got diagnose what you're saying here, a lot of people in the replies are thinking you're saying something else.

What you mean is the ability to dual wield any 2 pistols, right?

So Lex + Lato, or Lex + Bronco, etc?

Would make sense, but I just wish they allowed you to dual wield and level them seperately but not together. Like currently all the "Ak" Pistols (dual wielded ones) have their own upgrade tree, they should just have an upgrade tree for each individual pistol and if you want to dual wield them, you can. This would probably require designing some more pistols though to make up for the lack of Dual Pistol xp/trees being utilized.

As far as the ability to set any rifles and any pistols as your primary or secondary weapons? I don't mind it, I just find ammo would become a problem if they all shared the same ammo type.

For example: if your primary is Akbolto and your secondary is Akfurius you'd run out of pistol ammo insanely fast

Though I don't mind the idea of allowing for that if it required you to use different ammo types

For Example: Setting your primary to Snipetron and your Secondary to Hek would allow you to use different ammo for both weapons and not have to use a pistol. (Though you'd then have to be limited to only melee if you're holding a data mass)

  18. It may be your connection or where the host lives which is far away from you.

When you're host, you never lag...

It's not really just the location, it's usually the connectivity in that location.

I've played with a guy from Singapore and i'm from North VA and I connected to him lag free.

If it's your FPS dropping, it's probably your lack of RAM and good Video Card.

I never get FPS issues and whenever I host there's little to no lag (Noone has complained and I've asked and people say it's great)

But when I do connect to a bad host I do lag though, (Like wtf people hosting with 56k modems or something? lol)

It's not so bad though, when I connect to a bad host I can run around just meleeing everything without ever taking much if any damage.
