  1. As always, after the update hit, I instantly visited the market to see what I should start saving up for! I was a little surprised how limited the new bundles are. I pretty much never buy anything that advances progression in anyway at all, so I wasn't really interested in the relic pack or the mod bundle. The first thing I checked out was the huge 825 plat bundle. Usually, the bundles give you more choice over what you actually buy, for example I would expect those armors and palettes to be separate to the mods and the addition of a single relic pack, as they usually are. While I'm already saving up for that bundle, many other are too, and many have already bought it, will new and smaller bundles be added? It's not really a massive concern, and the support is always needed, but a lot of people have been mentioning it (some to the point of considering this "a spit in the face", which I think it's far from and also unnecessary, but you see my point). Most of all, to me at least, it's just surprising - especially for someone who's used to buying cosmetic only bundles.

Would love to see more options if that's possible!

  2. Hey community!

This is not necessarily feedback directed only at The Old Blood. Although, I've heard from a couple of players that the Kuva Quartakk actually has an automatic hip fire mode, which I would love to try! Yet, what disappoints is that there isn't simply a fire mode switch universal to weapons with multiple fire modes. Many players (Probably most), including myself, do not like the Aim/Hip-fire mechanic that I first recognized on the Quatz pistol. I loved the look of the weapon, but then was really put off by the strange fire mode switch. I love aiming. I'm not much of a hip fire user even on automatic weapons, and I leave close quarters to melee which is exactly why I'm loving this update so far, but the fact that this Quartakk variation has the same mechanic really scares me since I love that weapon and was looking forward to getting it. Perhaps it is viewed as a somewhat unique mechanic, but personally I'd much rather just have a simple fire mode switch.

Just wanted to drop this around here and see how many of you are on the same page as me. Maybe it could be addressed! Thanks!

  3. I have finally vanquished my first Lich and was able to test a toxic drakgoon.

I have to say, contrary to what I hoped for at first, the kuva weapon variations are a little underwhelming. It doesn't really matter how they're buffed, but the drakgoon for example could use some more magazine ammo and even less charge time.

Damage could be buffed but it is really up to what makes it most balanced, but right now, even though personally I prefer this drakgoon variation, it still feels like it needs something more.

  4. I've encountered a couple bugs since I last posted

One I'm not sure are intended:

    - Wolf Sledge throw doesn't count as heavy attack, thus no life steal affects it. Heavy slam is fine though!

One I'm sure is not intended:

    - Lich appears even if it's vanquished. (I did receive the weapon, but the lich randomly appeared in a mission.)

Just ran today's Sortie with a Skiajati build (ran it with Daikyu + Amalgam mod in the main hand for free 3% life steal). It was:

Blind Justice stance (testing it; turns out, this one doesn't untoggle Sprint!)
Vicious Frost (in umbra slot) | Virulent Scourge (in umbra slot) | Volcanic Edge | Primed Fever Strike (2 short of max)
Pressure Point | Berserker | Reach (would be Primed Reach if weapon was Forma'd) | Drifting Contact

It tore stuff up in all 3 steps. Felt really strong. Once berserker is going, you spend maybe half a second on an enemy to kill em, maybe 1 second if it was a Nox. And this could probably be optimized still.

EDIT: add in the forward tactical attack being a massive gap closer, and you just tear through groups like a lightning bolt. fun times.

Great to hear! So I was wrong about it being underpowered. I'll test it out myself soon enough!^^

the more i hang out on the forums the more i realize that the people here are just unpleasable and nothing will ever sadisfy them.

As long as people explain why they don't like something, or why it doesn't satisfy their expectations, and perhaps give some ideas, that's great! As soon as it becomes a simple "I don't like it" in the most brutal or sarcastic of ways, it isn't so constructive anymore. Sadly, forums seem to be that often. But hey, that's why we should all be more positive and confident in the people who create games such as Warframe!

Check out my 2 edits on that post for most of the answers to this.

As for proposing solutions, I already did: Requiem mods need to either be permanent or be easy to obtain, not hard to obtain and limited uses, it's quite the easy fix really, preferably would be to keep them hard to get and make them permanent. Maybe instead of expiring and needing to farm them again, they could drain out and we'd have to spike them with Kuva to reactivate them. There are so many ways they could have done this stuff right on the first go and have had so much time to do so that I can't possibly excuse them this time around.

I really like that idea, could be another use for Kuva with how obtainable it is now. If you don't wanna excuse them, that's your opinion on the matter and I cannot change that. Then again, it takes time for things to get adjusted correctly, which is something everyone should consider thoroughly. Personally, I already gave my feedback so far and going to give more once I get to my Lich, farm Grendel etc.

I can't speak to the Kuva Lich stuff as I haven't attempted it yet. I'm still kinda new, and have too much on my plate in this game. But, as someone who really focuses on melee in this game, I can say:

I really love the new melee changes.

Combos were just these neat animations you had to input specific key combos to get (which became impossible, it seemed, if you hit certain attack speeds). Now, it's just you have 4 different attacks, that you can chain together or flow between, and it feels soooo much better. I love that I can down enemies around me with Neutral Regular attacks, then quickly do a Forward Tactical Attack and cover a massive amount ground to the next group of enemies.

Even Blood Rush/Gladiator stuff feels good (in fact, Gladiator feels even better now), despite no longer being a multiplicative bonus that came after all your other crit chance boosts (and is now a stacking boost, like True Steel). That multiplier gets so much higher now (and quicker, too, since blocking builds combo), and the native stats of the weapons got buffed enough, that you can still easily hit orange numbers, and get to red numbers after some buildup. Broken War seems insanely good with Blood Rush/Gladiator now.

Only real complaints with it so far are a bug (some weapon stances will turn off Sprint toggle whenever you melee--it's not all, though, as Iron Phoenix on Broken War doesn't have this problem) and I was really hoping Skiajati would end up being the "crit and attack speed Nikana" and Nikana Prime could be the "raw damage and status". With it's two native Umbra polarities, you're encouraged to put Sacrificial Steel in Skiajati, but that doesn't feel great as it's crit profile is mediocre, at best. But 30% native status chance is pretty bonkers! Dear DE, please consider buffing the crit proflie on Skiajati while nerfing its status (and maybe doing the opposite with Nikana Prime?).

I've been enjoying the new combo changes and combo counter too! I never really bothered with it before to be honest. The removal of channeling is also something I've been looking forward to since they announced it, life strike feels... different now, might take some time to adjust but so far it flows way better than it used to with channeling! Blocking is way more controlled now and you can feel it! I used to use Skiajati on my Frost, but for some reason it feels like its a little underpowered compared to other melee changes? Perhaps it is the crit that is underwhelming indeed!

Oh please, don't go off telling me about DE's way of doing things. I was here when Warframe was an obscure game with a really small playerbase. I've shown my loyalty to this game with thousands of hours and hundreds of dollars put in on good faith. I don't care that the bundle is mostly cosmetics, I wouldn't care about it if it costed 800p and was ONLY cosmetics. What I care about is they add an extremely grindy system and then drop the target of that grind in a market bundle. It's not the price of the bundle that bothers me, or that it has lots of cosmetics in it as well, what bothers me is how they thought their Free2Play way of obtaining these mods is fair in any way. Ffs, if the mods were permanent and didn't have limited uses I wouldn't have cared that it's behind an insane grind, I've gone through insane grinds in this game MANY times but this one takes the cake. Them being available in the store only serves to stick it deeper. Frankly speaking, the Kuva Lich isn't worth the grind, which is a shame because I was really excited about this thing when I first heard about it.

Then why are you talking like you are? If you were here since the beginning, then you know that DE makes good on their promises eventually and that all they want and create is goodwill. And yet again, going back to this for the third or forth time, this is why feedback matters. If you don't like the grind, make your own post about it explaining why and asking for a solution or even giving your own one, what's so hard about that? The update has been out for not even 2 days! They can't just focus on everything at once. People need to rest, think, find solutions, they're not robots. They need to address everything in their own time. If you're so concerned about it, and I can tell you that many people agree on the fact that these relics and liches are extremely grindy, go add to the feedback.

I wouldn't call it the best update ever, but there have certainly been worse. The new melee system needs some tweaks but I am fully on board with the changes.

One of:P I've been playing more with melee since this post and I have to say I still don't see anything wrong with it. Since yesterday I've also asked pretty much my every lobby how people feel about the update, and while there's been arguments, people mostly agree melee is in its best state right now.

  11. Yeah, from what I'm hearing the additional damages on the Kuva weapons is not worth the grind, and I agree with it based on seeing the stats. Although, when it comes to internal testing, as I said before today, there is so much they can do. Depending on the community is one thing they have to do, that's why feedback exists. So let's keep going with the feedback!

Except updates like POE and ForTuna didn’t make existing content worse and all the new content added also sucked.

You're saying PoE and Fortuna sucked? I also find it the opposite, apart for some parts of this update having to be addressed like this entire post is about, I don't see how this update made existing content worse.

Hey, we'll add these cool mods that you have to arrange in a special order on your Parazon to successfully kill your Lich. Here's how you get them: You first farm floods and siphons to have a chance to get the relics you need for the mods. These relics are only guaranteed drop in the flood and you get a random one. Then you have to crack that special relic to get one random mod, but WAIT, THERE'S MORE: Each relic can also give you other stuff that you won't necessarily need and already have other ways of obtaining. ALSO ALSO, the random mod has a really low chance to drop from the relic, it must feel rewarding when you get it right? RIGHT??? And here's the best part, these extremely hard to get mods have a 3 lich kill only before they disappear and you can do all that grind all over again! Ain't that cool??? But no worries, if you don't have the time for it, for the low price of 800 plat you can buy a bundle with every mod from those relics! Ofcourse once you've used them up you can just buy it again! Yay for endgame!

Now tell me how this isn't a spit in the face because to me seeing how that system works had me nope out from it until it gets revamped.

By saying this you are literally stating that you do not know how DE works, how much they care about the community, or even how much power feedback has on these forums. You don't go raging, you don't go crazy. If you care about Warframe, you play it, you find what you don't like and what you do like, you post it here, and you explain why. This is what I'm doing. Thinking that an 800 plat bundle of MOSTLY cosmetics is a spit in the face is a low blow. You are playing a free to play game created by a company which cares about their community to the point where they'd rather remove RNG and lose money than make a single player spend a crazy amount of plat in a slot machine. As I said, if there is enough feedback about this, they'll add more bundles, there's not a single doubt. They've done it plenty of time before. If you wanna wait until then, do it, nobody is stopping you. But if you wanna stay and see it happen, just don't come to the forum just to let some steam off and throw sarcasm around like it's nothing. If it isn't constructive, there is no point to it.

i think this update is good. people are reading too much into the kuva liches. you can straight up ignore them if you dont like them. its like invasions for wraith/vandal weapons

the weapons they offer are not game changing its just more MR so yeah veteran players are probably the only angry players right now

melee feels so much more smooth. l am having lighting issues. not "overheating" but more of "i can barely see anything shadows are so dark"

I see your point, although I think Kuva Liches will become more relevant when Empyrean releases, with their capital ships etc. If the weapons are really that bad, this is another issue to address -  if the base weapon is already bad, they shouldn't just add another version of it which is just as bad. Then again, feedback is key here. Personally, I like that its darker now, though they should think about adding more functionality to the flashlight perhaps?:P

Aside of that you have to farm planet occupied by the lich to gather hints about the mods you need to use. his slaves have a low spawn rate and the info farming process takes a while. Then you need to fight the lich and if you fail to kill him you'll have repeat the farm AGAIN till he'll try to kill ya. And you repeat that process up to 9 times till you finaly got the right combination. That's a lot of farming and I don't think the reward is worth it.

I'll see when I get there, I guess. For now, I don't find the Thrall grind process too tedious, tho I wouldn't mind it being faster especially if the process has to be repeated if you fail to kill him. I did have an encounter with my own lich with just one Requiem mod equipped and all that has happened is he broke my back, nothing had to be farmed again.

I'll be really really short and to the point since i don't have the will to write a full review nor play the game at it's current state.

I won't talk about math and stats but this is my take on how to make melee playable again by simplifying it at the same time

1 Juggling, X for finishers and heavy attacks have to go.

Juggling:There's no reason for it to exist in a multiplayer horde game that doesn't focus on 1 to 1 combat plus the way it's presented in this case is more of a tedious thing (like trying to attack your enemy while he floats away) than a CC.

X for finishers:Having to watch out for the dialog to pop up and press x at the same time while moving around or getting attacked slows the battle and leaves you vulnerable

Heavy attacks:Too much time waste for an attack that misses most of the time and if it doesn't the result still won't justify the charge.

2 Block, quick melee, combo moves, configuration.

Block should activate no matter if you are in melee or gun mode.

Quick melee should be back as it was, nothing more, nothing less.

Combo moves shouldn't need their own mode In order to perform them.

How can we achieve all of the above? With this simple(default) configuration:

      1 E for quick melee(Tap)

      2 Ctrl for block(Hold)

3.1 E for combos(Hold):Starts with regular quick melee attack but holding down continues with a combo one, from there the regular E(Hold) x3 or whatever. No need for more than 3 combo moves imo.

    OR

3.2 F(Toggle) changes the weapon  to combo mode meaning that pressing E will do only combo moves until toggled back to quick melee.

That way we got combos, quick melee, block and instant shooting all in one package.

This melee rework so far has been a 360 turn that did more harm than good, i know i'm not gonna be heard but whatever.

Juggling I agree, there isn't much point in it unless you are really struggling with an eximus enemy 100+ or something similar. Heavy attacks, I dunno I quite like how they're handling it right now, the only thing is they should be faster by default. X for finishers, I don't really have a problem with that, especially considering that previously it was just the quick melee button, which sometimes made me kill the enemy accidentally with a simple melee strike. I'm pretty sure they mentioned being able to switch to melee permanently by holding quick melee, but I have not been able to do that, or I'm mistaken. Either way, that would've been something! Blocking should be automatic, but not while you're in primary or secondary, just doesn't make sense, and it you'd want it to switch to melee automatically, that isn't the way to go.
