  1. I have a hard time believing that the old ember could hang in Netracell. she could barely keep up in T3 Sortie missions. While her power set may have been more holistic, she lacked DPS for the then higher end game modes. She had a really low usability ceiling. She's own in the T1 to T2 world and steal all the kills but would falter pretty hard otherwise. Something had to be done. My only complaint about her now is that she doesn't strip enough armor with Immolation active, and I'd like see her 4 to either be faster to cast, or have wider range, She just can't keep up with faster frames on exterminate.
  2. Or it taught players to be smarter. Which is did. You could die all you wanted, as long as you had clanmates. It was never a new player tax, it was a dumb human tax.
  3. what is wrong with Ember, frost, and oberon?
  4. Just...................No. Gara is fine. The problem is the speed at which the game is played doesn't play to her kit She still owns in a lot of modes. Does not need a rework. She's also the one frame that I use for the weekly nightwave "3 runs in the index without the NPCs scoring a point". works every time. Voruna is an exterminate nuke frame. You use her 4 augment mod, use 1, 3, and 4, profit. She's essentially a vanguard from Mass Effect 3 without the invulnerability. I use her on SP Grineer runs. And I never fire a shot. She does not need a rework. Also works great for any speed run need like capture or sabotage. Totally good to go on spy missions too. Kullervo is the single most overpowered mob frame in the game right now. I suck at warframe and I solo'd netracell with him. Does not need a rework. Caliban - there's nothing wrong with Caliban. He's just inherently slow and you need all his slots to make him respectable so there's not a lot of room for rush- that and his pet management is super annoying. Does not require a rework. Maybe a tweak. Not everyone has him. Ivara is fine. Refined players that really understand her (not me) are able to get max use out of her. I use her for free roam fishing and mining. And I like that about her. Stynax is fine. I see him a lot. Not everyone has him. his power set is actually quite good, his ult is just kinda weird. As for Nyx, Chroma, and especially Banshee - yeah, they could all use a rework. Nyx got hit because DPS uber alles - she never failed, the game just changed. Chroma died when self damage died. And Banshee...not sure if you were around for Banshee spam, there's a reason people didn't want to see her around for a long time. As far as frames that need a rework that you didn't mention - Equinox could use some love.
  5. I always saw it as a way to make players think before leaping. Like, "if you're dumb, you will be punished" and it meant you had to be in a group of people that would pick you up. Which was always a challenge when two of the 4 were running pentas. It added an additional "zing factor" to the game. Made each instance actually mean something. But you do you.
  6. I dunno. I think early on it was. The first frames were easily based on standard RGP roles. Rouges, tanks, elemental casters, healers...they were all in there. By the next slew of them it was more about themes than roles and grew from there, but Oberon's always struck me as a paladin. Sure, it got away from it pretty quick. but way back in the day, and you look like you were there for it, A trinity and a rhino were crucial to deep (relative of course) runs in new content.
  7. I use Loki all the time. Because I swapped out his 4 for perpacity, ran up the duration and he's the frame I use for spy sorties. I occasionally use his 1 and 3 to move on the map Sure, he's about as durable as a chinese hammer, switch teleport was no longer relevant once bullet jumps were introduced, and his decoy is essentially a waste of energy. But he can run at speed while invisible - I think my most recent build is 42 (maybe 46) seconds. I get wanting to revisit the glory days of the Loki master race - especially with the new Melee. But don't you dare touch that invisibility duration.
  8. I really miss that one. You could get 5 revives per day for free and after that there was a plat mechanic but i can't remember how it worked.
  9. I want to say it was year three, maybe year four on PS4 that a really interesting thing occurred. The invasion results could change the faction on a tile set. If the player base was supporting Corpus continuously on say, Mars - all the missions on Mars would be populated by Corpus, not Grineer. And that's what happened. It was either a new weapon that came out that made the player base support Corpus, or maybe it was just "players being players" - but Mars had been completely overrun by the Corpus. Except for the Boss fight. I 'member this because I needed pigments from the butchers you could only find on Mars and had to grind the boss fight for them because of the state of the starchart. And understand - even though it was frustrating - I thought it was kinda cool. I cant think of another instance in my years of gaming where something like that occurred. I was grinding newer pigments this week, and every time I do, I'm reminded of this fact. And I start going down a "'member?" rabbit hole. Like, year one things: Rhino and a Penta at one point weren't Meta - they were required for 30 mins run in orokin survival. This was before Corrosive Projection. I kinda miss the self harm weapons because it made the game a bit spicier. The new mode is more friendly though, so I don't mind. Though it killed Chroma. At one point you literally could not make it to a C round of Orokin Defense without a Frost. I recall being the only guy in my clan at the time with a Frost and having to run that frame continuously for about a month. I still have an affection for that frame as a result. Loki was actually a master race. He was the only stealth frame that could boast a whopping 15 seconds (iirc) of invisibility. This is pre any stealth frame other than Ash....my god...the original Ash Ult.....oh I 'member the tears. I 'member why I hate Limbo - and always will. I don't care how much they change him, there's still a 99% I'll leave out the instance if I see a Limbo in the party. I miss world on fire. Ember's better now as she's viable for 100+, but I still miss it. I DON'T miss The old Saryn 1 and Hydron runs with Banshee spam. Solar rails - clan battles- there were different iterations, some with hilarious results (like specters with no heads). I think the last iteration was truly interesting, but the wide ranging effect on the star chart I think negatively affected the general playerbase and took focus away from grinding on your frames/etc. Seemed very "EvEish". So I get why it had to go. It was clan focused and DE's first attempt at PVP. And that's what I like about DE. They try interesting things. And if they don't work, they walk away from it and keep moving forward. Like the 8 player raid game mode. Really challenging when it first came out, but if you're not in a clan and trying it in pugs - huge pains. So away it went. And I think that's what's changed a lot from the inception. So much of the game was driven by clans in the early stages that it made it really difficult for players to progress without being in a clan. The game required a lot more teamwork. Especially since no one was ever overpowered for new game modes. Quite the opposite. You still need access to a clan to "get all the things" with buying them in today's game, but it's no where near as teamwork and clan dependent as it used to be. It's far more PUG friendly. And I like that aspect. So Tenno, what do you 'member?
