First of all, chill. Nobody gives a quarter of a damn about who you are and what you do for a living.

Secondly, whether or not a bug is a priority or not, is none of our business. We just report what is wrong, and that is that. There are old bugs that dont get addressed, or get worked on years after they crop up. That's how it's always been. And that is how it will always be. This or that person getting upset about their bugs not being looked at is not going to change a single thing.

But if threads about the same problem crop up again and again, it tends to help as long as they are as descriptive as possible (Saying "look it up" is not being descriptive). I for one have not encountered this problem once in my 1500+ hours of gameplay. As you said, it may be more prevalent in plains, which I dont care about in the slightest so maybe that's why.

IF it is prevalent in the plains, it may (fingers crossed) get looked at before/at Fortuna release, since it is just yet another open world. They'll fix it if it compromises the release of Fortuna, and given how you described it as getting downed while using an ability, it MAY be more prevalent given the orbital strikes and other such things we have seen in the streams.

We have to wait and see and deal with it. This game is in theory still in Beta (You can argue otherwise all you like), and it is free. And coming into the forums and acting all higher than thou and making demands is not going to garner many warm responses. But that's just me. I for one hope it gets looked at, but if it doesnt then what are you gonna do.

Not trying to sound unappreciative, but telling someone to chill isn't the best thing to say to someone that is upset, as I stated the person had gotten me with their comment. The best way to handle a situation like that is to acknowledge their concerns and offer solutions to their concerns.

One of the things DE is known for is their openness about what they are doing with the game, so in another thread for feedback, I made the suggestion for bug tracking and a way to handle reporting better. I also mentioned some things in this post. I also mentioned how the hours you play really are not as relevant as the activities. The reason I brought this issue up as I hear people complaining about it frequently, but people don't report it here. Also, this system of reporting can be improved upon, hence my suggestion post. If people were aware of what bugs were being worked and there was an integrated bug tracking system, such as those provided by many different source control tools with integration capabilities for public-facing websites, I believe it would be beneficial to not only the player base but also the developers as well.

When you say that we will have to deal with it, that is where my biggest concern lies. If they wait, sometimes it can be detrimental to the game when people don't want to do any of the new activities. DE want's feedback and I'm trying to provide that but also want my concerns to be seen. Obviously, my headline did grab the attention of several people, which was its goal. But, if you notice, I am very polite when discussing it in the original thread, expressing that I was disappointed that it hadn't been addressed and even asked for them nicely to address the issue. People took that as me trying to "bash" DE when that was not my intent. I brought up the analogy as a comparison of what sometimes happens with issues when they have gone on for a long period of time. If you think that does not apply, then please disregard it. But to me, it is an appropriate analogy. I don't see posting based on my experience as a negative.

If it doesn't get addressed, some people that I play with have expressed moving on to something else, and if that happens, I may end up doing the same because I like more of the group dynamic of activities and playing with friends. But I really enjoy the game and don't want that to happen.

Not according to the search you did.

You don't know if they are neglected or if DE is having trouble with nailing down the bug and fixing it.  Having people yell at them in a completely unhelpful way is...well, unhelpful.

That's not my point nor was it the OPs point.  The OPs point was to heap abuse on them for not having done what OP tells them to do, as if OP owns them.  OP does not own DE.

Excuse me?  Don't make presumptions about me.  The presumptions are all coming from you and OP.  That you guys know what DE is or is not doing.  That you guys know how easy or difficult it is to solve this issue.  That you know the priorities that are set by DE and whether those priorities make sense or not.

    1

For someone who says "Don't make presumptions about me," you are quite presumptuous. My point was NOT to "heap abuse" on them. But you certainly do like to heap on the abuse. Before you post, you better get your own house in order. I have another post that makes a suggestion for handling bugs and I have mentioned how to properly handle the reports in this one. If people were able to see what issues are being worked, then they would be able to add each instance to the list so that they can see how frequently it happens.

Just so you are aware, you have now made me upset. You make presumptions about myself and about what DE might be doing, but you don't know. Why do you think you have the right to say "excuse me" and then go off on others about the same thing YOU are doing? Do I have to point it out to you because you are too oblivious of your own capricious nature? Have you considered that you are defending the indefensible? Maybe if enough people told them what the issues were rather than trying to sugar coat everything and trying to defend them without knowing what is going on, they could be aware of what some of the major issues are and where they need to put their priorities. You seem to be the type to be very defensive of the game because you like it so much, whereas I am giving critical feedback because I love the game and want to see it continue to succeed. But I'm wrong about that according to you. I should just shut up and not say anything. I should not make suggestions on how to make things better.

Now, I know that isn't really what you are trying to say, but I am trying to make a point here. You need to take a step back and do some self-reflection. The one person who was complaining about my post, when I looked up their stats, appeared to only have one Eidolon hunt and not much experience with some of the longer tasks in the game. So, while they talked a big game, they really didn't understand where I and others are coming from. The number of hours you play really doesn't have much to do with anything. And even when I did mention what the issue was, you didn't seem to bother reading it. It's a very straightforward issue. So, why are you getting so hostile? Do you feel that people trying to get DE's attention about a bug that has been going on a long time and will have an impact on the new content that is coming out is a bad thing? The new content will have longer missions, meaning the chances of these bugs occurring increases. I want them to succeed. I want them to be successful. I think what they have done so far is fantastic. But when I see the head person talking about bugs with textures that don't affect gameplay, then I have concerns about where the priorities are and want them to take notice.

You can hate on me all you want, but my intentions are not malicious as you are trying to say they are. And if you want to continue on like that, please go somewhere else. That's my polite way of saying something else because you have gotten me very upset right now. If that was your intent, congratulations. Your hypocrisy becomes you.

  3. If there was an option to submit a bug report at the end of missions, then information such as what Warframe/weapons/mods were being used, what the last position of the player was (would be helpful in situations where you get stuck and unstuck does not work), and key events from the mission could all be captured and allow for more accurate bug reporting to the developers. On consoles, they automatically record a segment of video that can be used and uploaded. It would also allow for users who forget to report it later to get it submitted quickly and easily with just answering a few questions. Because let's be honest, when we are playing and a bug happens, the first thing we do is either replay the mission or move on to the next thing and completely forget the details.

I agree. You should probably stop playing this garbage game that devs don’t care about.

I didn't say they don't care. They care very much, I'm sure. But that doesn't mean that they always can see clearly on what their priorities should always be. Sometimes, people need to speak up and let them know. How does someone know that what they are doing isn't in their best interest if no one tells them otherwise? I only want the game to continue to succeed.

I've not experienced this bug and I have well over 2000 hours on this game.  You've not done a very thorough job of explaining it either, and you have been hostile from the beginning.  A good bug report will have detail.  You continually refuse to provide such.  Additionally, you are verging on DEv bashing.  I suggest you take a step back, take some deep breaths, and rethink your current plan of action if you want to reach DE and get them to take this post seriously.  Because, honestly, if I were them, I would ignore this as unhelpful and hostile.

So, why can I ask other players if they have experienced the "ability in use" bug and they immediately say yes and know what it is? I have not been hostile. I'm trying to bring attention to the fact that bugs are taking a back seat to new content which is causing issues. But I have been met with hostile and dismissive responses, such as yours. A good bug reporting process would provide a list of bugs and current status on them. Not a forum where people just can say I have this issue or that. A proper bug reporting process would be a form that asks specific questions and based on the answers to those questions would see if it something that is already being worked or a new issue. That is the proper way of doing it. Not report and issue, answer questions and go back and forth 20 times.

I know people who are thinking of quitting the game because of the bugs that are not being addressed. Do you want the game to fail? That is why I am trying to bring attention to the issue of why it is so important to address these bugs. We all love new content, but it doesn't fix the game. This particular bug is most noticeable in longer missions, which the new content will contain longer missions. If people are failing the new missions because of bugs, what do you think the reception to the new content will be?

Just to be clear, I'm a strong supporter of the game and the developers. What they have created is amazing. I just know that something needs to change. There is a difference between being a supporter and an enabler.

Currently there is not. For some odd reason the clans seemed to be bugged in that no one can promote anyone to their same rank regardless of permission/position. You can send a support ticket but its not likely DE can do anything about it.

They can do something if they really wanted to. They could fix the issue with the clans and many of the other issues rather than focusing on future content. It's like owning a house. If you maintain it and keep it clean, it will maintain or even increase in value. If you don't, people won't want it. I hope they start addressing some of the issues soon. At some point, it's going to be like one of those houses on "Hoarders."

I have this problem too, but K&M players seem to be a minority on PS4. I really do hope they fix it soon, though..

I'm a controller player, but I use the K&M also, especially for the menus because it's sooooo slow otherwise. I really want this fixed soon too. It's driving me crazy

  8. I don't think you understand the original post fully. The point of it is to get them to give the issue the attention that it deserves, along with some of the other bugs that have been lingering for a very long time. That was the whole point of the story that you were so quick to dismiss. And I don't see how expressing disappointment is aggressive or asking them "please" to make it a priority. While the title may appear aggressive, it is meant to get their attention. It obviously got yours, lol, and I'm hoping it will get DE's and maybe change how they address some of these bugs. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

  9. The aggressiveness comes from the condescending tone that I felt from your post. I just asked a streamer and he says it happens to him and I have talked to many others that have too. And I have to hear about it all the time when people lose their rewards during Eidolon hunts. Just because you don't think the side story is relevant doesn't mean that it isn't. What is the point of bringing that up? Or how you have over 400 hours of play time and never experienced it? Passive aggressiveness? I know what a ticket is as I explained, I worked on the ones that were escalated to me. Maybe you need to reconsider the way you respond? It could lead to people responding more positively to your comments.

  10. It is a known issue. But fine, I will spell it out. You cast and ability and are downed. When you get revived, you cannot use any abilities because it says ability is already in use. If you would have just looked up "Warframe ability in use," you would have found many posts about it going back a long time. And I didn't work tickets, I worked in the Infrastructure Architecture and Engineering Division of the IT Planning and Engineering Department. I didn't have to deal with end-users that much and when I did, it was for an escalation issue and I had the person working the issue with them brief me on it before speaking with the person so I already knew what the issue was and wouldn't have to do a complete rehash of the information.

  11. I've noticed, after asking the hosting person, that they are often using WiFi. Why anyone would use WiFi to game with, I don't know, but people don't realize that it has its own independent switch in their router that functions differently than the wired switch. While ping times may look good and you can establish a connection, there will be the occasional long delay with a packet here and there and causes the connection to the host to be lost. It's so frustrating playing with someone on WiFi in Warframe.

I have a friend on there that uses WiFi and he always has to join me or one of my other friends so we don't get the host migration thing happening. I wish they would put something in place where they would check connections for jitter and based on that, make sure the host is always someone with a stable connection.

I actually had to write some monitoring software that did something similar to that at my last job when we switched from OSPF to MPLS, so I know that it is possible. I'm not familiar with the games overhead, so it may not be able to be put in a check while in game, but could at least check when the user is logging in or in the lobby. It would also be nice if they notified people on WiFi that their connection isn't stable and suggest that they hardwire their connection.

  12. It happens whenever you cast your ability when close to death as far as I'm aware and happens to every Warframe. It's an EXTREMELY well-known issue and has been documented so much that I didn't bother putting in details because DE is aware of it. It has just been neglected for so long, that people have become complicit when addressing it. If you have not experienced it, then you probably are just very lucky. And it should be a relatively easy fix if they actually would take the time to look into it. They just need to make sure the all ability flags get reset. If that means canceling any active abilities that are active at the time and removing any buffs, then they should do that. I mean, it makes sense that if you are downed, your abilities wouldn't just continue on, but right now, some do.

So, DE does know about the issue. They know the premise behind it and any other information. It has been posted here before but has been around for years now and most people just deal with it and accept it as status quo. I am not one of those people, as my post states. I'm just extremely disappointed to see how long this has been around and hasn't been addressed.

  13. This has been going on for a LOOOOONG time and doesn't seem to be getting addressed. This causes failure of missions, lost rewards and sometimes hours of frustration for players. I'm going to tell you a little story. I was developing some network monitoring software for our data centers at one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. During my testing, I found that there was packet loss on certain servers in one of our data centers. The response I got was that this has been happening for years and was just a false alarm and that there really wasn't an issue. Obviously, that was not the case. I railed on my boss and told him how disappointed I was in him for not taking any action when I brought this up on a conference call where he told me to drop the issue after the team at that location argued there was no issue. I told him he could have put together a group of people at that location to investigate the issue. Apparently, that hit home with him. He sent an email to the team within a few minutes and that became their top priority. What they ended up finding after engaging Cisco was that the 6513 switch backplane had different throughputs on the card slots and they were overloading one of the slots which caused degraded performance and packet loss. They moved the servers off that card and the users amazingly noticed a performance difference.

This has been going on for a long time and nothing has been done to resolve it. It appears to be a similar situation of "this is how it's always been, we don't need to make it a priority." That is not a good way of thinking. I would recommend you put some of your best developers on the issue to get it resolved and have them make it a priority. As things stand right now, after seeing how long this bug has been around, I am very, very disappointed in you for allowing this to continue. And I know other people that are as well. I love Warframe and the product that you have produced, but very disappointed that you would let a bug that is such a thorn in peoples side continue for so long.

Please address this and make it a priority.
