  1. Usually when servers go down the staff give the players compensation for the down time.

I believe in this case they've already done enough. They've provided people with ample information, reasonably timed situation reports, and their processes for solving through the problems they've encountered.

That, along with the witty repartee of some of our more informed members, is more than enough compensation in my eyes.

Quoting this again so it doesn't get buried with all the stupid spam in this thread. This is still happening.

I'd like to first point out that I don't believe there's been much "stupid spam" in this thread. Apart from people requoting themselves multiple times, as such is the case here. As far as your issue is concerned, the servers are still not at optimal levels yet. The devs only JUST got them to even be functional what....40 mins ago?? Try waiting til they're actually back up to peak performance before saying stuff like this e.e

  2. My fault for trying to play while the servers are having issues, ill wait it out from nw on

This really is the safest bet to ensure you all don't lose anything. If it's still light out where you are, spend a little time outside. Do some meditation so you'll be in total Zen mode when you come back to being a space ninja.

If it's incredibly early in the morning for you like it is for me (5 am. Thank some being of higher power for coffee), just peruse the forums for awhile. Check the wiki. Seek perfection of character, and by character I mean your totally badass space ninja.

The best thing I can tell everyone to do is to give the servers ~2-3 hours to let them mellow and sync back, that way when you come back the issue will likely be resolved and we can all continue playing without any horribad side effects.

  3. It's exactly for reasons like this that the whole "but it's beta!" excuse is a load of horse puckey.

If a company is taking our money, it's a release and they should step up and be stand up guys about it.

They don't need to give us the sun and moon and stars, but it's not like it's our fault they didn't have an adequate back up system in place in case of a hardware failure either.

The cost of a couple of 72hr boosters I think is a small price to pay to keep your customers happy and honestly, it's not like it costs them anything anyways.

    @Deucalian

At what point is asking a company to take responsibility for it's actions become tasteful? If your internet went down for a week, would you wait until after you paid your next bill to ask them to take responsibility and comp you the missing week in fees?

    I don't think you would.

I think you'd be on the phone right away and each and every day it was down screaming bloody murder at them.

Now I am not trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, however it irks me to no end when people just blindly follow along believing whatever the status quo is and march themselves right over the cliff like a good little lemming without ever questioning why things are the way they are.

There used to be standards and progressively over the years those standards have gotten less and less, with companies taking more liberties with the trust their consumer base has given them.

Games used to be released fully functional, sure there was bugs here or there, but nothing like the half assed releases we see now a days, that come out looking like the game never should have left the alpha stage, and then we pay these companies for the privilege of testing their games and any time anyone tries to bring something up, they get slapped in the face with:

"Well it's still in beta!" or "Never played a beta before?"

Then finally 6months, or maybe a year down the road, we get slapped in the face again and have to pay for a "DLC" / "Expansion" package that is actually the other half of the game that should have been released earlier but wasn't finished when it was "released".

Is that the case here? I hope not. Playing UT/99/2k4 for over a decade was some of my fondest memories gaming growing up and I'd LOVE to be able to get behind these guys and show them my support...

but that is a two way street, all I'm saying.

You missed out on the part where I said "I understand where you're coming from" and the other bit where I continued by saying "I expect DE will go through the logs and do a re-imbursement". However hounding after someone to give you something back when they haven't even gotten the servers up, is in my opinion distasteful. Note how nowhere in my statement did I say "Oh well sucks to be you lol you're screwed time to RQ NOOB LOL" or anything stupid like that. I calmly explained the situation and explained my position, whilst offering my thoughts on what I believe DE's plan of action to be.

Before you go flying off the handle at what I type, make sure to actually read the entirety of the statement first.

  4. Maybe instead of continuing to attempt to log in when you know the servers just got back up, we could all take some time away from the game. Let it do it's syncing in peace. Think of the server like Client Eastwood sitting in a rocking chair with a shotgun in his hands: Are you going to sit there and let him finish whatever it is he's doing, or run up and pester him until he finally breaks down??

  5. I'm still going under the impression that Lotus is the secret end-game boss, but anywho.

This is why I've been saying that until the lore system comes out next update, we really have no clue as to what's going on. We know the Grineer are essentially mercs, the Corpus are galactic business (I'm still waiting for the Capture mission target with a rather dapper tophat and monocle to appear), and the Infested are mutated versions of the rest of the species. Other than that, we have no real clue as to our purpose in all of this.

We're the Tenno, an ancient race using Orokin tech "Warframes" to fight. Yet we've got no idea who we were fighting, or even what we fought for. We just know that we fought long ago (I think one of the bosses makes a joke about Halloween being over a millenia ago. Not sure if that's how long the Tenno have been gone though) and ended up in cryo-sleep.

    Now on to your points:

    1) You generally only hear that for Corpus, who are businessmen. So it makes sense that to the public eye, they'd be the "holier than thou" group. It's also entirely possible that the "business" angle is merely a front and they're secretly maniacal megalomaniacs with a penchant for Orokin Artifacts and galactic conquest.

    2) The problem with this is that, from what we know, the Grineer are mercs bent on galactic conquest. That'd be the reason that Lotus wants Tyl Regor gone. I don't know about you, but taking out the guy who's working to underp an army bent on dominating erryone seems like a decent thing to do imo.

    3) We don't know why they're wanting to rebuild in certain areas though. Note how those only appear in areas with Orokin tech in them. Again the whole "the business bit is just a front" argument can be made here.

    4) The Infested are mutated versions of the other species. This could be how they lure other races in to become Infested in the first place. "Oh, we're totally fine. Now just come on over here and give daddy Phorid a hug....." and so on and so forth. I like to compare them to the Rachni in ME. We're not quite sure what their role is, but we can infer that it's not anything to be throwing sunshine and daisies on.

    5) Just throwing this out there, but if I were fighting an essentially "guerilla warfrare" type battle where I had only a small number and my enemy were in the thousands, I'd be taking out everyone they put in front of me. Simply because 1) that's less guys that the enemy has and 2) the enemy don't have a chance to truly know about your abilities until it's too late and they're fighting you.

6)Again, Orokin artifacts. These are what the Warframes are. If the Orokin were to build something even more powerful than the Warframes, it could tip the scale of galactic power towards the faction that possesses such a thing.

I can see the speculation for believing that we're the bad guys. And again, until the lore system comes out we have no idea who's good or bad. It's all a large gray area right now. But just as you can use information to say we're the bad guys, it's not that hard to use information to state otherwise. It's up to the Devs to state just who all is what.

Though I'm still holding out for Lotus to be the evil mastermind of the galaxy ._.

  6. I'm going to have some fun at your expense, and tear apart everything that's been said in this post. Mainly because I don't appreciate the attitude you have towards a company that's done you no wrong.

Meh, I was thinking about it. But another game appealed to me most and spent my $200 on them. I know I will not be playing this game for long, It's just a holder till the other game goes into open beta at the end of the month.

Then..why do you care if the server is down? That's like saying "Oh no, my bike just got a flat tire. And my car is all of 5 feet away from me!! Oh woe is me" -.-

But even then, something this big should be easy to fine and fix. They even said they found the problem and that was why the site went down for about and 1-2 hours.

They had solved the problem. It's re-emerged. You must have skipped over the part where they're having to sync the servers back up to decrease the amount of strain on the primary server. That's not a "Let's give it 5 minutes and it'll be done" process. Also they're having people constantly log-in, increasing strain on the server further since it's in an almost constant rollback state now.

Maybe I'm just cranky cause I been sitting here waiting since 11pm last night, this entire 16 hours the game has been unplayable, so I can play again. I am no Dev, or coder or anything, but in any other MMO out there if there was a big bug breaking the game and preventing players from playing, it would be patched up in under 3 hours at the most. Under an hour at the least. But here we are, 16 hours later, the site even going down for 1-2 hours... and still no closer to being fixed...

    1) I highly doubt that you have been sitting in front of the Warframe screen for 16 hours.

    2) They've been working on the issue. This isn't some large company where they've got 1284989752389579149012508 (random numbers ftw) working on the issue. This is a small team that's working their asses off to solve this issue, just so unappreciative people like you can enjoy THEIR game. People seem to forget that Devs are actually people and not these amazing automaton structures that require no sleep, food, or any other form of basic sustinence.

tl;dr: If you're just going to complain about the fact that a SMALL team is working their &#! off to provide you with a quality gaming experience, then seriously just leave. Like...my patience for people like you is literally less than non-existant.

    What exactly is a "Self-entitled gamer" i thought gamer's were gamer's?

The gamers that believe that everything should be handed to them and done solely for them, with no regards to the ludicrousy of their requests nor the personal lives of those working to give them a game experience. In this case someone complaining that a "placeholder F2P game" is down and that even though the devs are working on it, it's "not getting done fast enough" even though the person has admitted to having no clue as to what the issue even is or the steps needed to resolve it.

  7. Not to mention that this is still technically in Beta, which means issues and bugs should really be expected.

It's just a problem with gaining a larger community. Warframe launched on Steam and got a lot of new players, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It just means that it increased the odds for statements such as that to start cropping up from "self-entitled gamers". With a large number of people, there's bound to be at least a few bad apples and all that jazz.

  8. We're Back! We're Back! We're Back! We're.... Still broken and working on it.

...... So go on. Fix it. 15 hours now, and still climbing.

There's seriously no reason for something like this -.- At least they're working dilligently on it. Steve and a good number of the team were up until ~3 PM my time (I think that's like....2 in the morning for the EST peoples?) and they're already back up and working...again. There's no reason to sit there and complain that a F2P game is down, especially when the Devs are sacrificing sleep and their personal time to solve the issue.

  9. In all things of this game, it's preference. I could sit here and preach to you the wonders of Fragor (Ban hamma) but if you're not a fan of the weapon then it won't matter. Find a weapon that fits your role for it, and use it. There is no "best" weapon for every occasion. It's all preference. With the right mods, you can turn even a pos weapon into one of the most OP weapons in the game.

  10. I'm borderline tempted to test my katakana skills here, but I'll keep it English for my own sanity's sake.

    1) As you said, this is beta. When Monster Hunter games come out, they're more or less finished products. This is nowhere near that. Give it time to develop.

    2) Emotion actions aren't quite needed since there is no "player lobby" in this game. The only time you ever physically see another character is when you're in a mission. I'd rather not do an entire mission alone while some guy danced in a corner.

    3) There is a mod called Puncture for that. Shoots through an enemy by .35 meters at max. Also the Paris does this on charged shots. Think of Paris like MH Bowgun Pierce shots.

    4) There will eventually be mods unique to each piece of equipment. One that we kind of use as the joke/template is "Ram-Bow", a play on an iconic American action film character who uses a bow. The mod would be exclusive to the Paris.

    5) You can use shift+ left click to sell mods more than one at a time. You can also sort mods by name, price, rarity, etc.

    6) Again, this is Beta. Give the team time to do all the fun things that they want with the game.

  11. Wait so you mean....charging up an attack will do more damage than just spamming a weak one?! Shocking discovery there!

You should probably try changing over your melee to something other than defaults. For especially spammy weapons, I find mouse wheel up works wonders. Just flick it up and 3 seconds later most anything under 40 will drop before you.

The above tactic with Fang works as well. Just that DZ is better suited for critting.

  12. The 7.7 mod droprates just seemed to have made common way too common even on high level content.

Wait. You mean common ones are like...the ones that drop every other drop and rare are like...the ones that drop 1/10 drops!? Shocker -.-

I mean every ability mod is called Rare in update 7, yet how are low level players supposed to upgrade their abilities passed rank 0 if no ability mods drop in low level content?

You're not forced to use duplicates to level. Fusion cores aren't THAT bad anymore. Same polarity mods work as well. It's not like "Oh well I can't farm for my ability mods so I can get dupes and upgrade them so therefore the fusion system is broken." You can still fuse to get them up there.

  13. Enemis are too strong Exta mission to get Frost that u need to kill

    LIEUTENANT LECH KRIL

Has become almost impossible or u die to the way of the boss and if u have luck to kill him u die in ur way out ,enemis have too much damage right now

    they need to get debuff

I really hate to do this, but I'm going to rant.

Pre U7: "Man, this game is so easy. I can just stack one stat to ridiculous levels and oneshot the entire map. GET TO WORK DE!!"

Post U7: "Man, now I actually have to work at things. I can't just OHKO everything and facetank. WHY'D YOU DO THIS DE?!"

Post passive boosts (7.6?): "Man, this game is just lawl mode easy now. Like, there's no reason for me to even party with people. I can just solo errythang. Nerf shields and whatnot please DE."

Post enemy buff (7.7): "ENEMIES CAN ACTUALLY DO DAMAGE TO ME NOW!!! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING DE?!"

While I may have gone a bit overboard on some of those, you see my point. People complain about the game, and DE does their best to fix things. Yet people will still find a way to complain. It's one of those things where you will never make everyone happy. DE is doing their best to attempt to do so however, and that's why we're defending their actions. So next time you want to blame someone for what the enemies can/can't do to you, just look at all those lovely people Q~Qing on the forums and direct your rage there. They're the actual source of the problem. DE is just doing what they've been asked to do.

  14. Is the P2W argument still going around? Just because you all are too stupid to realize that you can just scroll back further in the pages doesn't mean "OMG I CAN'T GET STUFF FOR FREE THIS GAME IS P2W!!!" -.-

Seriously, kinda makes me wish they'd done a P2P system. At least then we could keep all the "I don't get this stuff and therefore the game is unfair" babies out.
