  1. Nidus. My old main. My old friend... Nidus exists now in a world of Overshield and reworked frames he used to look down on... Is Nidus bad? Truthfully no. I sat in Sim today, built him to a point where he could handle 180+ and with my weapons collection found some synergy. Now, if the argument for a starting point I wanted to make was "Is Nidus bad?" then we'd be done. Problem solved. Nidus can survive beyond base Steel Path and therefore is not bad. Case closed... However... This isn't my issue with Nidus. I thought it was when I started thinking about this but it isn't. Nidus isn't bad. His Identity isn't as well established as it seems. Now wait a second before you start hate posting at me and if you yourself are still a Nidus main hear me out. The inconvenient truth is health tanking has had it's day and without additional layers of resistance you can be one shot very easily, additionally the likely hood of being picked off grows if you're chained to one room. His visual presence is good but his gameplay with within that fantasy is something I'm going to explore as we go on. He just begins to feel more and more helpless the deeper into a survival you go, but honestly he should feel the opposite - gathering momentum gaining the ability to keep pushing back. Refusing to die but in a way that feels more active, like you're foaming at the mouth rabidly as you claw at anything with a pulse... Not just sat in the corner of a map waiting for stuff to come to you... Starting it simple, The QOL change Nidus NEEDS. Nidus is entirely reliant on his 3 - Parasitic Link. You cannot survive without it and challenging higher level content is a no go without it. Parasitic Link has a major issue. It anchors you to the ground. It stops you from being as mobile as you need at times and requires you to manage two things on one ability - The distance you are from your targeted Link and the duration / upkeep of that tether. Three things if you want to count the infestation stacks needed for it, which we should really count despite it being something you should be actively building in every interaction. So how do we change one thing and fix it. Nidus is a parasitic Warframe who is more infested than he is complete. Well we have evidence that some Parasites can control their hosts and even more precedence for it within the realms of science fiction. I propose the target of Parasitic Link follow us around. That's it. No augment, a simple base change that forces the target to follow us. This leans more into a fantasy AND gives better QOL freeing Nidus' feet from the floor. If this is all you wanted to see, I've been 2wentyThre3 and thank you for attending my TED talk... discuss below. But if you wanna know what else I think, please, keep going. The Nidus rework he deserves. The strive for a strengthened identity. Nidus' identity is that of the infested. A mutating ever strengthening, parasitic wall of flesh. It's a unique idea, however, it is currently rotting in a corridor instead of barrelling down it like an enraged juggernaut. His physicality should be feared, but in truth if you looked in the corridor where he was stood, you could close the door at the end and walk away knowing he couldn't do a damn thing about it without losing all he'd worked for. My interpretation of the infested are that of frenzied all consuming monsters. No logic or reason, just consumption. So of all the manic and crazed lifeforms do we have Nidus who is sat around in a room locked to his Link and his Maggots. I personally think the Link and the Maggots should be working for Nidus, not the other way round. Mutation should serve Nidus for the work put in, not be a well to be drained. so with my opinions of his fantasy on show, lets tweek his tech... 1-Virulence I propose with each stomp Virulence should spew maggots. throwing them up out of the ground onto the path in front. This way it makes the next stomp more potent at creating Mutation stacks. The maggots should be no different to that from Ravenous - clinging to enemies for CC and being free roaming - however as you will see I would prefer to remove Ravenous as it currently exists in the hope of expanding on the idea of the ever growing state of the Infested monster he is... Virulence should still behave as it does now - hitting multiple targets allowing you to build energy (to be adjusted to help maintain my proposal for Ravenous) 2-Larva Honestly with the augments that exist for Larva on top of it already being a great grouping tool as it is I wouldn't change Larva at all. 3-Parasitic Link As you read above and if you didn't... Allow the target of Parasitic Link to follow the player. The fantasy being that Nidus has invaded the hosts body and is puppeteering it as some sort of twisted extension of himself - DE, you wanna blow everyone's mind on this? Make the hosts body fully mutate into one of the infested in an explosion of guts. Hell make a new model, a specific Link mutated monster. Cost should remain at 3 stacks. 4-Ravenous (new) Nidus sacrifices 7 mutation stacks for Ravenous entering a frenzied hungering state and increasing in presence (scaling the model to show this). Nidus is now head and shoulders taller, wider and bulkier than other frames in a similar way to how Titania Shrinks. Self healing rate increases and the ability to build stacks becomes easier as Maggots fall continuously from Nidus' open orifices making him a walking tower of infested threat. The open areas of Nidus should have reaching tendrils similar to that of his Larva for further visual enhancement/ notification of active ability. Casting Virulence in this form no longer costs energy however maintaining this form drains your energy. If energy drops to 0 or you are killed in this form you will revert to Nidus' base form where you will need to have or build resources to achieve it again. If skilful enough, this form can be maintained permanently through use of Virulence, Larva and Parasitic Link. I would also recommend additional changes such as an increase in movement speed by say 0.2 and an amount of Overshield on cast/Recast. The ability should be re-castable to regain Overshield. Being re-castable over an active period is the best option as casting again to cancel would hold no benefit. -Passive- Nidus' passive should remain as it is with one alteration. If Nidus is killed with 15 or more Mutation stacks available, 15 of those stacks will be consumed: This will grant 5secs of invulnerability and will instantly restore 50% of Nidus' Health and 100% Energy. The inclusion of the energy allows the player to recover from their death IF they had enough stacks of Mutation to cast Ravenous again. Currently if you die there is a lot of pressure on your recovery and if it fails you lose 15 more stacks to another death and it can snowball. Being able to cast Ravenous again on event of death and fight back also falls into the fantasy of an ever growing pile of flesh that refuses to give up. Well, if you stuck with it this long, thank you and I'd like to hear what you think. I'd especially love to know what you think Pablo - I invoke your name in the hope you can be summoned oh great one... Anways, Peace Xx
  2. - Skip seems okay in principal. - If implemented, skip should be free. - Options to Co-op story mode with people that have completed up to Whispers in the Walls would be better. - Reducing grind and craft times on lower MR gear would be better. - Increasing drop rates or altering drop tables would be better.
  3. - You shouldn't be taxed to play with a friend after being recruited by a friend. If you want to offer a skip on the story up to Whispers in the Wall I think it should only be allowed for people that have used the "Recruit a friend" scheme and are under MR3. And it should be 100% free. Asking for payment after someone has added to the player base for you is beyond cheek. It seems greedy. And to be honest smells like something Tencent would concoct. Surely the idea of getting a player in, throwing them a life saver of an option and getting them engaged with the community through their friend is the way. After that they're likely to make plat purchases themselves without pressure because they are invested. Making them pay up front allows for more of a chance of buyers remorse, or the feeling that they were shook down merely for wanting to try something new - a "Free to play" game none the less. Bad experiences lead to bad feelings ( I feel like Robocop in Robocop 2 just typing that...) and those people will be more vocal in their hate and entitlement. Why? Because they've paid their money and feel they can do whatever they want. Paying customer after all. And honestly I feel that's why WF has done so well. Platinum purchases, of which I've made a few - always made me feel like I was saying thank you for such a great game. The game is free to play and I always sorta felt like I was robbing you. Such a great game and I have to pay nothing - yes I know engagement figures create product worth etc. but I hope you get what I mean. Tennogen always makes me feel like I'm investing in artwork lead by the community and how cool it must be for them to say they've added a piece of them to the game we all love. This Plat to skip idea? It feels hollow. Soulless. Greedy. It actually makes it appear that you think less of your own game and less of us. Skipping is the same as saying the 10 years invested is only worth as much as a fee. And that really cheapens the experience. And that thought alone is sad even if not intended. And I believe it isn't the intention. I have first hand of experiences like this with a Warframe competitor... one that is floundering at the moment. One that expects you buy into expansions to near hundreds of pounds as a soon as you start to be relevant in the game, and even before to be honest. That game is Destiny 2. It has HORRIBLE monetization options. D2 should be an example of what not to be. Their brief ownership under Activision Blizzard King near killed their game. Or so I am told by their player base. What's worse is Bungie kept all the changes after getting their freedom back. Their games story is in absolute shambles because of all the alterations made to accommodate selling the next new expansion - and they have done this multiple times. Honestly, It's a garbled mess. Buying those expansions allow you to go places you have no idea about. You are shown things you can't possibly understand. In the wrong order things you see contradict other things. People are dead and then alive and then dead again... I experienced many a bad feeling with Destiny 2 and all those feelings started from actively being asked for money for wanting to play their game with a friend. I wanted to like the game but it just felt tainted by obvious corporate greed. I stopped playing it nearly as fast as I started and my friend and the people I played it with fully understood where I was coming from once I had explained my experience as a new player. Don't let Warframe become the next Destiny. Please. - Multiple edits for spell check, grammar and clearing up poorly worded sections... I'm guessing I've still missed some.
  4. This is Warframe. We pride ourselves in our community and we always have. After your 5000+ posts I'd of thought that would have been apparent. I just want to take the time to say your attitude toward me in your post was unnecessary. If you'd like to respond to me in a less accusatory tone and not make assumptions of what my skill level may be - Oh, and actually discuss my post. I'll happily speak to you. If the next post is like your last, don't mind if I reserve the right to ignore you. Telling me who you think I am without knowing me... bit silly really. In short - Game mode needed to be unlocked. Game mode implies a stay longer than normal missions to grind an middle to endgame resource. Game mode locks out if left. Game mode becomes less fruitful with less people. Game mode should have a lesser lock out timer or no timer at all so that individuals who wanted to stay are not punished by others leaving. This would allow a near seamless transition from mission to mission, IMO. Discuss.
  5. Sorry for your loss matey... Time and effort and all that.
  6. Nah it doesn't kick you but it makes backfill highly unlikely or just plain impossible depending on the round and gimps the run should people have wanted to go for an hour or W/e else. It's just a plain pain in the backside. As Crown above me mentioned, it starts a cascade effect more often than not. Even if you were okay with plugging on with 3 people just throw in the towel removing the option.
  7. For days in a row now (more commonly in these days than over my years of play) I have encountered groups that leave after the initial wave of Arbitration. They made a platinum sale and have to leave, others leave with them. They die within the initial 5min run, feel bad or embarrassed or w/e and leave. They just aren't in the mood anymore... I would have no issue with this whatsoever, except we, I, need to wait another hour to play again. Honestly it's getting to the point where it just feels bad. No one player should have so much power over another's play time. Especially over a game mode we had to spend time to unlock and have to wait for. I'm not calling for punishment of those players. I'm not calling for a mandatory play time once in the mission. Although there is possibly some merit to both of those solutions too... But, can we just delete the timer? have it on 20 or 30mins instead so the fill time after an abandoned run doesn't feel nearly as egregious as it does now?
  8. I've had this issue for a few weeks now. It's like the game is trying to render the metallic effect of Iron Skin over the new Deathwatch model, its failing massively and Rhino starts to flicker profusely between the skin itself and going completely transparent with odd wireframe-esque looking pieces. It makes the skin unusable. Graphics drivers are all up to date and same as OP I've tried all sorts of settings within the graphics tab. It persists through everything on the Deathwatch skin. And to be clear, it's only the Deathwatch skin, switching to any other Rhino skin fixes the issue.
  9. Bought the Valkyr Carnivex bundle when it came out [275 plat] - Never had use for the fist weapon skin [Dreyric Fist Skin]. Love Liger's work btw, amazing designs. Got my Furax Wraith - Got the Incarnon adapter this week - Put the skin on my Furax Wraith. Hit 6x multiplier, hit strong attack, Instant disappointment. Either I was gonna see all the Incarnon stylings clip through my fists or they just weren't going to appear. I never, not for a second thought they'd opt to revert the skin on transformation. To echo the sentiments of some of the other posters here... This is bad. I want my skins appearance, otherwise what's the point in owning skins. Purchasing skins. It's a lot of work to constantly update their code so they work in all content as we move forward I guess, but equally we all paid good money for our skins. I'd just be happy to hear what DE have to say about all this.
