well then what's the point of bows? or silent weaponry in general?

Until DE actually fixes the the bug they introduced when they implemented a tweak wherein projectiles / shots that impact the ground will alert enemies within 10m of the impact point?

None really except for style points.

the RJ is more like a WW2 bomber with susceptibility to smaller fighters than any kind of “SENTIENT-BANE”.

Railjacks are just gunships / torpedo boats / corvettes in terms of size and loadout and probably incapable of bringing down large Sentient ships like what we've seen. The Orokin had to have fielded something akin to Grineer Galleons, right?

    Make it 2 weeks

You have a lot of free time and spent most of it playing Railjack. Probably used an XP booster too because...

Apparently affinity boosters reduce the time I need to get to max them by 50%. 1 day net me ~100 points by doing around ten 10-20 minutes runs in Gian Point Veil Proxima with affinity boosters.

    Noticed this as well.

The new detection radius now allows enemies to spot you clear from the other side of the map for some reason, so you just need to keep the floor between you and their line of sight, also, don't bump into them, it instantly alerts them even if you are invisible.

Fancy that...a space ninja game that punishes you for trying to be stealthy....when the test you need to pass  is designed around you trying to be as stealthy as possible.

    This is their game.

Yeah, we know that. What's your point?

    Quote

it is not ours to dictate how it is developed.

It is if DE expects us to play their game and engage in most - if not all - of its systems.

They want us to play? They're going to have to make concessions at some point. Concessions based on, you guessed it, player feedback. You want to be popular and stay popular? You need to listen to what people have to say and be willing to accommodate them.

Sure they don't HAVE to listen to us...at the same time, we neither have to play something we don't like nor do we have to support DE (financially or otherwise) for making decisions we don't like.

Warframe's success was built mostly on word of mouth reputation. People supported Warframe because they thought it was worth it and because DE looked to be a company that listens. Warframe's success can be turned into a downward spiral into oblivion the more they ignore player feedback and continue to throw out rushed content just for the sake of having it out there.

    But there's no downvotes?

You got Woah'd, which is pretty much a downvote in terms of expressing disapproval.

    ...Reddit version of Warframe Forums!?

Imagine if you could actually downvote people here...I'm not saying that would be a good thing mind you. Given the nature of most people around here, that would be abused to no end.

Edit: Whoever Woah'd me, thanks - my rep went up another 2 points despite your attempt to diss me.

There's no secondary fire, the blast happens when the magazine empties automatically?

Correct. Why you got "downvoted" for that helpful post is beyond me.

to  fair, most people wouldn't know everything about an alien gun they just picked up. they don't exactly come with a training manual. I guess try Dying and reviving or using Archgun and switching back to Shedu, and if nothing works... just don't use the alt-fire I guess.

I remember a bug where the Azima - new at the time - alt-fire didn't work on console, maybe it's the same bug come to ruin the Shedu. hopefully DE will fix it when they come back after the holidays.

    Agreed and I remember that.

Also, yet another helpful post that got downvoted.

The heck people? Someone's not allowed to give suggestions and feedback?

Edit: Heh, I rest my case.

The way it is now is horrible and ruins the whole experience of the new quest

The only two things that are awful are:

    1. The fact that the ship only shows up every 2.5 - 3 hours and there's no ingame timer to let you know when it'll pop up. We have to rely on non-DE sources to figure out when the ship will show up.

    2. The ship shows up for 30 minutes at a given node. That means if you get into a protracted battle with the Grineer, you have even less time to do what you need to do on the ship.

    This.

    15 hours ago, Mephane said:

You just get people rushing into the Sentient ship and leave if no part drops.

Do you know WHY said people are doing this?

Hint: Anomaly that shows up for 30 minutes that has a fairly uncommon enemy that has a 4% chance of dropping parts for a pretty decent new weapon. No-one hunting for those parts, in their right minds, is going to waste any time. What if people jumped into a mission and the anomaly's already been there for 15 minutes? The Grineer aren't going away but the Sentient certainly will.

People will deliberately go to the ship node for one of three reasons: Quest, weapon parts, or codex completion. Everything else SHOULD be secondary due simply to the limited time the anomaly shows up.

As someone else said, blame DE for creating a scenario that promotes behavior that some might consider to be toxic.

Locking it may seem fine to you, but how about increasing the time from 30 minutes to at least an hour or so, while also decreasing the wait time to at least an hour as well?

I was just thinking that as well. Excellent suggestion.

The ship becomes impossible for anyone else in the team to enter!
This makes it hard for people who want to see the node or get the Erra quest to do because now they are locked out of that ship.

Then make it so that the ship isn't "locked out". Obvious solution to me.

That obnoxious, over the top glow it slaps on your Frames shoulder.

I wouldn’t mind it so much if it was a slight glow akin to the glowing cracks of the Wukong deluxe skin, but the over the top energy glow? It’s nothing short of downright ugly.

I can’t be the only one who’s noticed it surely?

No you're not the only one that's noticed this. I'd just as soon have the glow yanked completely.

this is more like a Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard Lasgun.

In terms of style and use, it reminds me more of an M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) / LMG than anything else.

1/4th of the magazine for the Alt-fire is a bit much honestly.

Agreed. That's pretty much my only gripe with the gun. Not even the reload time is an issue for me.

Having Cold as an elemental damage type to go along with the IPS damage is a bit odd, but dealing Corrosive + Blast vs Grineer is kinda fun.

How are you gonna tell me that we have CIWS on our navy ships today, but thousands of years in the future our turrets have to be manually aimed, or the best we can do is 0.5 sec snap targeting?

    Because game balance /s

Seriously though, there should be a way to install a subsystem that'll allow Railjacks to have some kind of missile defense system, be it a CIWS turret or two, a chaff dispenser, or a decoy launcher.

It could be easily balanced by needing to reload after a while.

Another reason to wait for the commander system and have our own NPC crew.

For my part, when that comes, only a few selected friends will step on my ship.

    Smart move.

Hopefully Commander Intrinsics will allow us to make better use of our Lich Allies (if any). They'd make for decent counters to boarding parties for sure.

During the Game award, Rebecca announced that they just released the update of Railjack during the show. We all hyped about it, updated the game and join the Flight..

After a few hours or minutes, you realized there a lot of bugs, some balance or even ridiculous meta that may annoy the players

Point of note: On the last devstream, Steve pretty much said that they were in crunch time to get Empyrean out for the awards for some PR. Didn't help them in the slightest going by the sheer number of bugs and game-breaking issues that, predictably, popped up.

Every time DE's stayed late to push an update, what has the more rational elements of the community said? "Go home and rest. We can wait."

And why's that? Because 1. we know what being overworked does to people, and 2. why would anyone in their right mind want content that's buggy due to being rushed out the door?

Now, have they listened to us? Nope. Full speed ahead! We got a deadline to meet!

It's been shown repeatedly that  all "crunching" to meet questionable deadlines ultimately does is lead to people being overworked and stressed out...and far more liable to make mistakes. Mistakes lead to buggy content and ultimately disappointed players.

    Crunching. Helps. Nobody.

This is exactly how BioWare trashed their reputation - by repeatedly crunching out releases and updates. Right now, DE's doing the exact same thing.

Releasing an iffy update just to capitalize on a lame video game award show was probably one of the dumbest things they've done to date. They needlessly overworked themselves to rush out half-baked content only to meet a ton of legitimate criticism that's not going to easily go away anytime soon.

I feel like I'm watching a ship slowly sink from repeated collisions into avoidable icebergs and it's really sad.

DE doesn't have to record a bunch of new mission dialog.

A shame - some new dialog for Ordis would be nice and refreshing.

    39 minutes ago, Aldain said:

In-universe it is likely because Ordis has no realistic idea of how to console the Operator after what happened in the plot and is doing it because it is the only way Ordis knows how to help.

Which honestly is a little heartbreaking.

    I has a sad now 😞

Not everything needs a lore explanation or lore attached to it.

What I mean is...why not just have Ordis give us the whole mission briefing and deployment dialogue and such?

That would make far more sense.

And we should be OK with this because "free game?"

    No, we absolutely shouldn't.

The fact that DE makes their money via cosmetics and "pay to skip the grind" options should give the devs even more of an incentive to make sure that content is polished, yet this clearly doesn't happen as much as it should.

Arguably, I'd say that the people that do throw their money at the game aren't really getting said money's worth.

We deserve better and frankly DE's sloppy releases as of late are really tarnishing their image. This game's fortunes were built on word of mouth - positive word of mouth. It earned a solid and growing reputation as being a fairly unique third person space looter shooter with a vision, tons of potential, and a passionate dev team.

Now it's arguably earning a reputation of being a bug and RNG-ridden grindfest, which will ultimately drive people away if this continues.

This one was a known fact, so blasting it on the forums is whining at this point.

That's, like, your opinion man. Which, judging by the sheer number of downvotes you're getting for your posts would seem to indicate that your opinion (and attitude) on this topic is extremely unpopular.

But hey, if helping making Warframe a better experience for everyone by posting constructive criticism for the devs to see is "whining"...then call me a "whiner". At least I care enough about Warframe's future to offer constructive feedback and naturally, I encourage people to do the same.

No, saying that DE is great and to keep up the good work is not constructive feedback. This is especially true when you fail to state WHY something does (or doesn't) work.
