That white particle effect that happens when you blind them isn't affected by duration. Instead there will be a black smoke that comes from the enemies (after the white effect ends) showing that they're still blinded. When I posted that yesterday I made sure to check my bases on the blind being affected by duration by checking the wiki as well, so... I don't know what happened when you went to look. Pretty sure it said that yesterday, or I'd have started questioning my own knowledge.

Just realized I was reading the info for her 2nd ability when I thought I was reading her ultimate's details.

@Jeetza Interestingly enough, duration does affect the blind duration.

I'm an idiot, was reading the wrong ability at the time because I had too many tabs open and I suck at this.

  3. I'd give you my specific build, but i'm not at my Warframe PC. For a HoM build, range doesn't matter at all. Try for a decent amount of strength (helps her other buff) and try to max out duration by reducing range. That is the general format for a HoM Mirage buff build. For a blind build, range is what it's all about. Also, blind duration is affected by duration mods. (I think, never made one.)

Nullifiers are kinda necessary. Otherwise things like immortal valkyr will happen. Which is completely overpowered.

Nullifiers stop CC. They stop you completely ****blocking oncoming enemies and add an element of excitement to the game. They can be annoying but do you really want a permanently nova'd map?

They encourage different strategies, and teamwork. One is for a member of the team to specifically be on the lookout for bubbles, and to shoot them down when they appear, while the rest of the squad deals with everything else.

If you are soloing, especially with banshee, just use more tactical thinking. OP mentioned using a banshee and a bow. How about ye take a secondary at least with a decent fire rate to shoot down the bubble then shoot them with the bow. And don't get shot yourself (I heard it hurts).

Having control of the entire map with abilities just sounds like a silly idea. Its boring. There is no point playing a game with no challenge.

What about Grineer then? They don't have nullifiers but are still considered a good challenge despite the existence of the AOE frames you mentioned. We don't need nullifiers to have a balanced game. It can be done through other, more fair, means.

  5. Nullifiers are easily the worst thing DE has ever added to Warframe. I fully realized this when I played a very high level mission of each faction. Infestation was a joke, Grineer could be a pain(but was also a fun challenge), corpus were probably the worst. Sure they die easy, but the nullifiers are powerful enough to make up for the lack of armor and good units the corpus have. Orokin missions are just as bad if not worsened by the fact bombards and heavy gunners are in the mix too. IMO, DE needs to at least remove void nullifiers. I would like to see a complete removal, but nerfs to Nullifiers or partial removal would also be great.

8 hours JUST for a hammer in a videogame... :/

In a game where most players have already played those 8 hours, AND most players have over 500 hours in the game. Compared to weapons requiring Nitain all the time, i'll take this any time of the day.

Well someone in DE said 'players have too much reward' so they nerf the excavation, you can't even hold 2 excavator at a time.

Now you have to work 300 excavator = over 30000 seconds = over 8.3hrs NONSTOP for a weapon. Apparently DE never tried to farm/test the requirement because Cryotic is far from common and Excavation is far from enjoyable/rewarding.

Without other 'efficient' source it's only a punishment for even normal players (except for no life hardcore players which has nothing to do other than Excavation). If you thinks that's fine, then more incoming.

8.3 hours isn't a massive amount of time in the whole scheme of things. Your average player will easily get enough cryotic to build this weapon eventually. Core farming, something nearly every player does, brings in tons of cryotic. Some of my friends who just started have enough cryotic to build this because they've done enough missions. Also, it is hard to take you seriously when you say "Cryotic is far from common", that's just not true. Also, excavation is very rewarding. Tons of players spend hours everyday farming it for cores. Heck, there are probably players who get 30K cryotic within a week just from farming. I, for one, am happy that I finally have something to dump my tons of cryotic into. DE in a way rewarded players who have spent hours farming excavation with a weapon that will use their excess cryotic.

does it need a buff when it has a great augment that increases critical chance and applies the most effective CC syndicate proc?

I can tell you don't even use the augment you've mentioned. I've got a multi forma Grinlok using that augment and it does about as much damage as my crit Latron Wraith. Except the Latron Wraith has less recoil, actually more damage, faster fire rate, and is overall a more usable weapon. Keep in mind that the Latron Wraith isn't a power house of a weapon either. Also, the Grinlok isn't easy to get. You have to research it and spend a forma on it. It deserves to be better.

If you want plat that bad then either play the game and sell stuff to other players in the trade chat or buy it. Or you can take part in the events on the forums. Currently there is this contest:

Do something and earn yourself 50 bucks worth of plat.

That isn't what this post is about, it's about how outrageous it is for Twitch to require a facebook account and how that limits a lot of players from receiving plat prizes. This thread is not about how he needs plat bad and this Twitch situation is making it very hard for him. He simply wants to take part in a lottery-esque event and can't because of this silly feature. You seem to have responded to someone begging for platinum.

Both of those things ARE the joke. Some people willingly went along and did the alert knowing the reward was worthless, and knowing the joke was to see how many people would go along with it, just because they enjoy a challenge. April 1st is just silly.

I knew 100% that the alert was going to give what it listed, especially when an actual Gift of the Lotus showed up later.

  11. This is a game, the purpose is to have fun. Those weapons are very fun to use and should stay how they are. I am happy that the current top tier weapons are unique and not just an assault rifle. These weapons will eventually be beat out by new ones, so let them have their moment. As harder enemies and better weapons are added, these will no longer be used as much. This happened to the Soma and Boltor P and will happen to these too. A slow amount of power creep is healthy for a game like this to keep things fresh without making players feel cheated from nerfs.

Are you serious? The rocket jump ability that comes with the Tonkor is the reason it has low self damage? Why in the name of God would you change this?

"Hey guys lets just take every fun element out of this game, add more bulletsponge enemies and call it a day"

    Great stuff DE, truly amazed.

This thread scares me, do people really feel a need to nerf the S#&$ out of one of the funnest weapons in the game? I've had friends that hate it because of how powerful it is, but then fall in love with it when they see how fun it is to use and how rewarding it is. Nerfing this would drive a lot of people crazy.

Point of reference here.  Frost has damage that doesn't really scale well against level 100+ enemies but he is a defensive/CC frame focused frame.  Damage frames have scaling damage and limited defense / cc.  Buff frames (Nova / Banshee) boost team damage but often lack defensive abilities.  It all sort of evens out depending on how you want to play.

Also, he is pretty amazing against infested.  Try a max range build with the frost wave augment, you can quickly and easily slow massive portions of the map with it added with the "get off me" knock back of a max range snow globe.  With a little duration, avalanche is there to give everyone some breathing room if they ever even need it.

When I said he was bad against infested I meant purely the damage aspect of him. I think he is still a good frame for infested.

true, but the overall premise is to get your heath as low as possible, and with some form of life steal or healing ability/item, that will increase the number of health gates and shots that you could take. I would just propose a system is put in place to not abuse it so easily, like a timer for the next possible healthgate. Borderlands is just an easy example of healthgate gone wrong.

The main problem with BL2 was the terrible balancing, not the health gate. The exponential scaling on the enemies was really the only problem in the game. I think health gate in warframe would be perfectly fine and have no risk of being abused.

Healthgating might take Warframe down the path of Borderlands 2 endgame, where it becomes too easy abuse it.

Borderlands 2 and Warframe are SO different you can't even compare them. In BL2, pretty much everything would one shot you no matter what endgame. This meant to even survive you needed to exploit health gate. In Warframe, a health gate would simply be a nice edition for endgame play that stops big enemies like nullifiers from one shotting us. And besides, BL2 had plenty of ways to exploit health gate, Warframe has very few ways to exploit a health gate mechanic and even less need to exploit it.

  16. He isn't too bad in PvE. You can easily top damage with him on ANY star chart mission and even a 40 minute T4 survival. Granted those aren't anything insanely hard, they are easily do able. Oberon is better than a lot of people give him credit for.
