About dubninja

  1. It's every quest line since Harrow. Thanks for the correction. I guess I mixed up war within for New War, but I haven't had a positive experience doing a quest in years, so both apply. All I know is, I haven't been able to login and play the actual game for months now and I think I am at the end of my Void-rope. All of that refund stuff for the ship happened well after the release, and I mentioned they gave millions back. It was the quest part I was not happy with. I don't mind the story, but it has been released slowly over years and I can't even remember the names of all the characters due to the gaps. Again that was not my complaint. Forcing people to do quest to push the story forward is fine. Locking the game from players until they slog through it is not fine.
  2. I have played Warframe for a while and I have seen so many changes to the game. I have spent 2000+ hours on fun gameplay that had a niche space-ninja feel with an emphasis on fast-paced action. Team play made the game that much better for me and had me group up with my friends in a clan and everything. Grouping up and running through missions made the grind of getting new frames and weapons tolerable when so much of the game is focused on grinding. Then the missions started being solo only. That kinda takes away from the fun. Now I have to rush through stuff after leaving my group of friends to do these needed missions in order to push the story forward. At this point, there barely was a story. I had little invested in it and cared more about my clan, getting more frames and weapons. I rushed through the content and barely paid attention to it because it was grains of story scattered in hundreds of hours of gameplay. Then the ship showed up and I was floored by the requirements and again, a quest, in a co-op game, that is solo. At least the quest was fun, unlike most of them after and including harrow. DE barely made it tolerable by giving current players a boon of millions of credits and resources as a way to say "Oops, we screwed up." I waited for New War after doing the ship. I didn't like the experience of the quest and a friend had told me when you start the New War, you have maybe 3 or 4 hours of play until you can return to the regular game. This was factually wrong. I spent 4 hours doing the first 4 missions due to bugs, lousy design and probably little to no testing. (No enemies even moved when I did the Tenshin part, I was puzzled at the time I had to and ask a friend about it.) After getting one-shot multiple times in the stealth archon mission and having sections of it not work and getting stuck there, I moved on to other games. A few months later, I am stuck in this set of missions, not even seeing my ship or even the title of the game, A WARFRAME. My clanmates are asking me why I don't play anymore and I have to tell them, I don't want to play what that mission is. I want to play Warframe. Locking us out of the normal game until we slog through something that is almost alien in design and function to the base game is not fun. I can't believe I have to post this, but it feels like a different game and it probably should be a different game. It is slow, boring, and loaded with exposition in a game that is supposed to be a fast-paced co-op action based game. I held my tongue when DE removed flips and added pirouettes. I held my tongue when they added in boring solo missions in a co-op game. I held my tongue when they made me beat all the systems again, for the third time. Now I haven't had fun playing this game in months and I am still locked out of the fun part. I don't expect them to change much because of my complaints, but a moment of reflection would be nice. Think about what this game is and was. It is entirely two different things. Some of that is good, but I cringe at the thought of a new player having to slog through this and be turned off of what was a really fun game to play with friends. Stop the war on fun.
