The iOS Twitch app isn't made by DE, it's made by Twitch, and this rule wasn't invented by DE, blame Apple for that. You don't need a PC. You can claim it in a web browser. You just can't claim it in the app. -

No. The majority of the game's players are going to be PC and cross save players, so you don't have to ask them to do anything. Yes, it'd be great if you could just trade with anyone without these limitations. Unfortunately, it was not possible to implement it that way, for whatever reason. I didn't say anything about "making it easier" or that it's logical (although it does make sense if you think about enabling cross save as converting your account to a PC account, so only PC accounts can trade with each other). Just that this is the way it is, and if you and your friend want to trade with each other, they will have to enable cross save.

It did not completely block trading. You can trade with PC players (all of them, they just need to enable cross play) and cross save players, including those playing on Playstation. Your friend can link a PC account and then you'll be able to trade with each other. It is an unfortunate limitation of the current system.

Cross platform play is not enough to trade across platforms. Only PC and cross save players can trade with each other, but cross save players cannot trade with non cross save players, even on the same platform. And Switch platinum cannot leave the Switch platform. So in order to trade with other platforms, you would need to activate cross save (which is permanent and irreversible), but then you would be unable to trade with Switch players who have not done that. And you cannot trade platinum to other platforms.

You are now effectively a PC player. You can trade with PC players and cross save players. You cannot trade with non cross save Xbox players. You didn't need to do that to get twitch drops. To get twitch drops, you need to link your account to twitch. You cannot unlink. Maybe support can unlink your accounts, but that means losing all your progress between linking and unlinking.

The "unable to trade due to platform or cross-save mismatch" error doesn't mean you are a PC only account. It means one of you is a PC or cross save player and the other isn't. PC accounts can automatically trade with cross save accounts without having to enable cross save. Console accounts who have not enabled cross save cannot trade with PC or cross save accounts. You were trying to trade with a console account who does not have cross save. The invites thing might have been a temporary problem, or it might've been completely unrelated network issue, e.g. due to Strict NAT.

The Steam version can't do anything like that. It's basically the same as the standalone PC version, you log in the same way with your email and password (it doesn't use your Steam account for login). What do you mean by "it put my account back to a windows-only account" and "no longer bound to either my xbox or pc accounts"? Are you missing items from your account? Are you unable to log in on Xbox? Does your account on Xbox not match your PC account in some way?

According to your forum profile, your PC account was created July 8, 2018. You could not have transferred from PC to PS, because that was in 2014. You probably transferred from PC to Switch in 2018/2019, and that made your PC account ineligible. It clearly says if you're eligible for merging, and it also tells you that inventory and currencies will be merged.

What did the website tell you when you were connecting accounts? Linking is not the same as merging. Linking means you will not merge. Did you clone your PC account to Switch back in 2019?

You have a cross save account, so you can only trade with PC and cross save accounts. You cannot trade with non cross save console accounts. Your friend probably doesn't have a cross save account.

Are you trying to trade with another player? The message is a bit confusing, but it doesn't say you must enable cross progression, it says both players need to enable it. You are already a PC or cross save player (your forum profile says you're a PC member, which includes cross save players). The other player needs to enable cross save.

Both players need to have a cross platform account or a PC account. Enabling cross play is not enough. Console/mobile players must link a PC account to convert their account into a cross platform account. Then they have to enable 2FA on warframe.com/user. Note that if you convert your console account into a cross platform account, you will lose the ability to trade with people on your console who have not done that.

No, it's Apple that doesn't allow it. -
You need to link your Xbox account to a PC account first, choosing the Xbox account as the primary, which will then turn it into a cross save account. Then you need to start the game on the PS, let it create an account for your, and then link your cross save account and the PS account. I'm not sure about the PS trophies, but I do know that it pops the Steam achievements after logging in with a cross save account.

The name is not important. You getting kicked out is a different problem. Make sure the game is up to date. I think you can still get drop progress for watching streams in the iOS app, you just can't claim them, but you can just claim the drops somewhere else - e.g. in the web browser. -
Your account name remains what it was on each platform. The other person is a cross save player. They can only trade with PC and cross save players. You are a PS player, so they can't trade with you.

According to Twitch, you must not offer drops for a game that is on iOS, but viewers can still claim it on the website at twitch.tv/drops/inventory. -
You don't need 2FA to trade as a console account. Who are you trying to trade with? You can only trade with non cross save PS accounts.
