  1. For the last couple of hours, I've been using the forums (which I had ignored before) and noticed A LOT of talk about Nightwave. I expected this, but I was honestly surprised by how angry some people were. I've found some people really mad with the new system and some people fine with it. I personally prefer it to the old system, but this is what I've gathered by reading on here.

    For the New System

Some, Like me, like Nightwave better than the old system because of the stability it sort of adds. Back in the old alerts, you would have to kind of wait for the alert you wanted and hope that it did not happen when you were offline (I never used alert tracker apps). With Nightwave, what you see is what you get. You do challenges (most of which are pretty easy) and get reward tiers for it. These reward tiers give you Wolf Credits*, cosmetics, and forma bundles. People who do not have much time to play are encouraged to go at their own pace with weekly challenges. This does leave something to be desired for vets, however. I put the asterisk by Wolf Credits because I really like the addition of it. Usually, with the old alert system, you would have to wait for nitain alerts which happened about 4 times a day. Now, after getting to reward tier 3, I was able to buy 15 nitain and build saryn prime in a couple days work. That is something that never would have been possible with the old system. I feel like Nightwave has some changes that need to be done, like with anything new, but I think it brings a good touch to the game.

    Against the New System

Many people discussing on here about Nightwave bring up the same points, which are those of content speed and overall the new feel of the game. The biggest complaint seems to be those coming from veterans of the game and new players alike. Some say that Nightwave challenges are too hard, others say that they are too easy and get them done in a day with nothing to do. Many say that the challenges are incredibly boring and do not offer much fun. I do not know if the challenges will be adjusted for the next 9 weeks of the event, but yeah this week's challenges were dull. I admit that. I have also seen many new players complaining about the system as now they think that their progress has been stopped. What they used to be able to get in alerts now has to be completed by challenges, some of which they might not even be able to complete. I think the huge bulk of resources you can get like Nitain is a good addition, especially for new players, but it also poses a problem since wolf credits are first obtainable at Tier 3. This means that many new players will not be able to get the credits, at least for a while. A good add-on to fix this would seem to be giving out wolf credits every couple days. Prices would have to be adjusted though if this becomes the case.

Overall, I think Nightwave poses some great ideas and some not so. I am interested to see what you all have to say about this.

When it was about 2 days before the update, there was no crashes at that time. Just none.

But i'll actually try to reinstall the game. Maybe some magic works :D.

    Thanks for the tip!

    No Problem

  3. Some of the test rooms are fairly simple. I always suggest actually obtaining the mods yourself and not taking advantage of the game or buying it from someone else. Some challenges are only able to be done with a squad while others you can get done in minutes alone.

This is a great video to help. (amazing channel for warframe overall btw)

These challenges are the exact same mission as any other and people can afk or will be carried just as easily on these as they could on the old ones... funnily enough I don't see anywhere near as much afk as many people make out, now I do see it but it's fairly rare in my experience.

Then again, it is your experience. Just because you have not experienced many afk people does not mean that it is less common. It has happened to me, for example, many times. The old missions, like for mods and whatnot, just required mission completion to get the reward. Hence being afk and such. While you still can get carried, nowadays you actually have to kill a certain number of enemies. You have to scan a number of enemies. You have to kill eximus units YOURSELF. It is not just the same as the old system, but I do not want to argue, I just wanted to show my point of view since so many in the community are just bashing this.

  5. Considering you are new to the game, I assume that your mod collection and quest competition are not at a very high level. Once you get a little further on in the game, you will get access to relic missions. In these missions, you equip relics (obtained from defense missions, excavation missions, spy missions, and gifts of the lotus alerts) and fight corrupted enemies. These corrupted enemies will drop reactant, which you then walk into. Once you collect 10 reactant, you open your relic. After you complete the mission successfully, you will get prime items from the relic, whether it be warframe or weapon parts. These can then be sold for platinum depending on rarity. I would highly suggest looking up a video for extra help, but at your time in the game right now, please try to get the story complete. Do not worry too much yet about plat.

You think it's bad for the experienced player (note I'm not a fan of the grind and chore feeling it gives either), I just tried an alt account which is like mr2 at best and a fair bit can't even be done (at least in week 1) so a newbie could actually struggle to hit that 60% needed for 10 weeks.  Of course a newbie doesn't need a 'one time only' syandana or armor after spending 10 weeks trying to get the standing obviously (sarcasm)...I can already see the newbies going 'screw that, not doing that again' at the end of 10 weeks when 'nightwave 2.0' comes out if they can't hit that magical 60% for everything.

Lets be honest here... this system is no more of a test of skill than the old system, it only seems that way as it now has that one mission against the hydolist.  Nothing in the list so far has been a challenge for average let alone experienced players apart from finding the time and interest in actually doing the challenges.

Players can and are still being carried on these missions, if anything I've seen more players 'needing' to be carried on these missions than if I was just doing them normally.  I've seen loads of comments about newbies in hydrolist missions with just a mote amp for example....

Just because some people are being carried on one of the challenges does not signify that everyone is doing such. At least now you actually have to go out and get stuff done compared to just afking in an exterminate mission (I've seen this happen many times, trust me).

Please read more of the discussion than just my personal reasons. We are talking about having both alerts along with Nightwave to continue.

I was just responding to what I saw. The topic title was "Please bring back resource drop alerts". Nightwave is more efficient in my opinion. You do not have to assume that I just scrolled down to write an angry comment.

Warframe is already on every console...  all we are talking about is copying your "save data" over to another platform.   They have already done this in the past..  it was just done for nintendo....    not sure what your point is....

The game being on consoles is another thing from moving save files around. Microsoft and Sony have a famous history of being very finicky with that sort of thing. I assume it's profit related in some way but you would have to ask them.

  9. You do realize how much faster the new system is, right?

You used to have to wait around for alerts to pop up containing nitain, but now with wolf credits you can buy 15 nitain on the third reward tier. The third tier is roughly equal to about 10 of the challenges, so really not that much effort. And you can get 15 nitain which used to take days to get. (The old system used to be 4 nitain alerts PER DAY).

  10. The nightwing alerts are not that hard. The game made the system in the first place to be better for everyone. I can bet very heavily that tons of people got all the challenges done the first day. Some of the challenges, (like the eidolon one you mentioned) are weekly challenges because they are giving players like you,who cannot play much, more time to get them done. It's fine if you dont get all of them done every week. The event is supposed to go on for 10 weeks or so and this is only week 1. I have not done the eidolon one yet either and do not plan to because I don't like the plains. That is just my opinion.

I like the new system better anyways because its more a test of skill. On the old system, anyone could just go to a defense or something, get carried, and then get a good mod or blueprint. Now, you do challenges (some of which take time) to show you understand the game mechanics. Not to even mention that the new system is much more standardized. Everything you get is what you see in the menu. You no longer have to wait literal days to get nitain alerts to pop up. You can buy nitain with the wolf credits you earned.

  11. Might be a hardware issue or game issue.

By the constant crashing, I would first say something might be wrong with the Ram on your Pc, but I'm not really sure if that is always the case. I have 16gb of Ram and it works fine always.

It's more likely that something is wrong with the game file. Try to uninstall and then reinstall the game. Your progress is saved on your account with your password, not on your device, so you should not have to worry about losing your progress. If the crashing continues, then I would really suggest contacting support or trying to reinstall steam (if that's what you play warframe on).

    Hope it helps

Edit- Just realized you said your computer turns off when the game crashes. Hmmmmm. Might be a power supply issue or hardware malfunction.

If your entire computer is shutting off then it is most certainly a hardware issue I would guess.

  12. I've been playing for over a year on PC now, played on xbox for 2 years before that so I know the game quite well. However, I've been saving up plat for the last couple of weeks and have about 300 or so now and was wondering what weapon sets I should buy. I already have the braton, soma, vectis, latron, and the boar (also have burston set but not mr 12 yet). I was just wondering what good sets I could get nowadays.

  13. Okay so I am Mr8 in warframe, and I have been using the marelok as my sidearm for a while. I put a potato on it and it works fine, but it has gotten so monotonous.Fast forward to tonight and Im doing some ghoul missions and I get this stubba bp. I was wondering if this is a decent sidearm. I also see this quratakk as well, not really sure if they are usable or not.

  14. Alright, before I ask this, I just want to say I love shy and her videos. She is hilarious and one of my favorite youtubers. However, I have always wondered if she can talk. Like really speak. I think its most likely that she does not like to, but I have heard rumors of her being possibly mute or something? again, I don't mean this to offend anyone, i just really want to know. i was hoping someone here knew some info.
