I haven't followed devstreams much lately. What's this new mode?

Think Interception but points tighter together and defense nodes, instead of intercept points. With random debuffs/buffs when each node is activated. You can run one at a time (one rotation each, it looks like) or all four at the same time. Will come with corpus gas city tile rework and new enemies.

Look at their track record though. Do you think they will actually make it rewarding and scale up faster with somewhat scaling rewards? DE has abandoned the veterans and I have no faith in this new game mode unless I get a full list of rewards that are endgame worthy and not a bunch of fackin Endo and statues like usual. I may be a bitter veteran but I am also realistic one and Steve has already said that he is catering to newer players because that is where the money is. Henceforth this game mode is already dead in the water for many people until we get it through DE's skull that endgame does matter, and you have to reward people who play endgame properly or they will not want to play the game at all.

We do have fissures, AABCCCCC arbitrations, and recently got the exploiter orb/thumpers (I doubt I'll ever have to mine, fish, or farm toroids ever again). I wouldn't throw it under the rug just yet.

If your a veteran then that usually means you have everything, so what is this reward your after that would be so go for you?

Cosmetics is the proper reply and I doubt anyone would say no. But anyone who plays grinding games for rewards - anything that can boost power even further (powercreep), would be a better reward. I wouldn't mind seeing larger quantities of Kuva tbh but that's not going to change anytime soon.

I don't dig on it to much because the reward was a PRESSURE POINT! That tells me it will be somewhat difficult potentially while just as unrewarding as the easier things we have to do. A fun and challenging game mode is a great idea, but only if you get rewarded proplerly for doing it, and Endo, Statues, and crappy mods do not count. Give us built potatoes, Forma Kuva, REAL END GAME THINGS THAT MAKE IT WORTH DOING! Which I know they wont do as I have been through this before so I wont be playing it most likely, Wanna waste your time go ahead and be my guest but if your not being rewarded you will abandon it the same as most veterans like myself will as soon as we see the awful loot table...

They said on stream that rewards haven't even been touched yet for it

People already have an opinion on a game mode that isn't even out yet?

Just wait for them to release it and see how it actually works. After all Arbitrations where hyped as endgame content, too.

Basing it just on opinions I saw in the reddit devstream discussion on the day of and some comments I've seen in recent threads. I'm not thinking it's going to be "end game". Just looks like a good game mode based on what I've seen.

The thing hasn't even been released yet right? So how can your opinion be unpopular, or did I miss the part where everyone hated something they didn't even try yet because I'll be honest that seems common around these parts

It will push players to be more interactive because of that, I'm just leary of the new meta that's going to be created for that mission type.

There will always be a new meta for new modes but with how performance effects rewards, things are gonna get toxic real fast.

Yup, this will not be something to go into Pub with and expect good things.

I'm more interested in rewards and reward structure. I don't want another Infested Salvage that is now a dead game mode due to the only good rewards were the Nidus parts. And the stream getting Preassure Point and the complete silent awkwardness when asked about the rewards does not bring me confidence.

Agreed, however, I didn't like the first tileset for Infested salvage. Where it had mult-layer rooms. Even if it rewarded well enough, I wouldn't visit. The new game mode, from just my experience of seeing it in the stream, looks fun as maybe a place to bring along a weapon you recently forma'd, a build you want to play around with, or just go to out of boredom.

But at the end of the day, they're still the same old, dead boring defense missions in new clothing.

True, definitely if you boil it down. If you don't, new enemies and new enemy mechanics. Possibly new loadouts. Since it's defending four points at once, unlike interception, since the point can actually be destroyed (vazarin and defense-point frame become more wanted). It's seperate from standard defense since your allies aren't concentrated in one single area (generally).

hyperactive kids and insanely fast warframes than defense missions do ever will. I still don't understand why every single game mode DE releases lately is not taking advantage of this wonderful movement system we have

I don't know about you but I regularly use void dash in normal missions and especially open worlds but, it's true we don't have something that is actively pushing us to use it.

  6. There's 10 pages here, so not sure if it's been posted (not going to comb through this) but there's three things I need to point out.

    1. Enemies could be additionally difficult like that of the open world enemies. If anyone's played Tier 5 bounties in the Orb Valis, you know you can't compare that to level 50-60 corpus enemies on the star chart. It's simply not the same difficulty and their stats are different.

    2. There will be new enemies to fight. We don't fully know how their mechanics will change the fights. They may present a new challenge. They were definitely more tanky than the standard enemies in the stream.

    3. Each "defense point" was only a couple minutes. It looks like it will be similar to excavations in relation to fissures/arbitrations. Where enemies and rewards scale faster than normal because rotations are cycled faster.

  7. If you look at the minmap, no lit access panels. If it was in lockdown, access panels were inaccessible (ran over to one). Fighting the Stalker, you can absolutely get out of lockdown even with him being alive still. THIS IS A BUG.

  8. They are often getting broken and - it - sucks.

Three games in a row they were broken and coudln't finish the mission.

    Extremely frustrating.

Edit: To be slightly helpful in any way, I'm pretty sure it's connected somehow to hosts and alarms. Something is getting broken.

The Stradavar Prime also outdamages the Gram Prime in terms of base DPS. Gram Prime needs to close the distance and swings slowly, which means at base you need to account for about a second to actually achieve that. A gun can start doing that instantly, on account of being, y'know, a gun. Over that one second it takes for the damage to come out of Gram Prime in one burst of 180 damage, the Stradavar Prime has either dished out 300 base damage or 240, full auto and Semi respectively. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the regular Braton does much the same.

This is why melees in the majority (not all, but the majority) of shooter games deal far more damage than guns, often orders of magnitude higher. Melee, by virtue of having to close the distance and thus being far more vulnerable, needs a strength to counterbalance, and that's usually very high damage. Even TF2, which bucks this trend outside of a select few weapons, often adds utility or other functionality to melee weapons (Engineers wrench is a great example), and even then give Melee's higher chance to crit.

In Warframe this is absolutely ludicrous amounts of multipliers. Too many. Stance multipliers, the ability to stack crit to get higher crit multipliers than other weapons and condition overload enable melee to enter the hundreds in terms of multipliers. Is it any wonder that a go-to for dealing with wolf is to buzzsaw him down with a melee? This effectively means they are the worst and best weapons at the same time, to a hilarious degree either way.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Now we're including other data other than just the "damage"

Smart assery aside, nobody is wondering why they're reworking melee.

Not too unlike a Mk1 Strun.

Seriously, the Gram Prime, the most powerful Melee in the game, destroyer of worlds, has the same base damage as a Mk 1 weapon. And people wonder why DE is reworking melee...

Bro, did you know that the same MK 1 weapon deals more damage than Stradavar prime! REWORK ALL THE WEAPONS AGAIN!

  11. Wait for the melee 3.0 rework. Not saying it's going to fix all. But they are balancing stats across the board and increasing base range on a lot of weapons when it's "finished". Or at least, that's the spoken plans.

You have currently 3 different ways to shred armor (corrosive, warframes, auras). You choose one depending on what you what to play as warframes in your team. If you don't have any abilities in your kit to shred the armor and so you need the aura corrosive projection take it, if you don't have the good polarity use forma or take a look at the new "aura forma" 😉

Anyway, you are not forced to fight enemies with armor since only 2 factions on 4 have armor. Also, if you are trying to kill enemies under lvl ~100-150 you can kill them without taking care of their armor if your weapons / abilities are strong enough and well built.

That's not about being glued some stuff and you know maybe since you are playing as team of 4 players one of them would want to play something against armor so your are not forced to take it.

Shattering impact, pets, and focus schools/operator as well
