Warframe Pay to Skip Quest: A Solution?
(PSN)IndianChiefJeff replied to (XBOX)assassin5522's topic in General Discussion
I guess some people can't be bothered to press buttons. This whole "pay to skip" scenario is a joke. -
I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants to see what the Drifter can do in the Star Chart. Far too many have been rubbed the wrong way by Duviri, failing to see the potential in this absolute monster in the making. That's the one thing The New War dropped the ball on; fully unifying the mechanics of both Operator & Drifter into one. With Duviri having come & gone, there's plenty of time to add finishing touches.

DE isn't evil, but they certainly haven't taken criticism well in the past, a certain "Train Man" comes to mind in that regard. This debacle makes very little sense from a player perspective, and it strikes me as an act of financial stress rather than necessity. New players will be ill equip & ill informed to such a high degree if the progression skip goes beyond a certain point.
-
Is this honestly necessary? Players will be skipping major tutorials in these quests, something that this game severely lacks already. It feels like you're taking a page from the unholy book of Ubisoft, something that should've been burnt years ago. I'd advise you not to go that route. In fact, more than anything, I've been hoping for a more detailed Codex that lets player keep track of major events & establishes a cohesive timeline. If players have to skip content instead of learning & adapting to each experience that said content provides, that calls into question the quality of said content. You're getting a hard pass from me on this. Warframe is an experience that needs to be embraced in every single facet.

Dojos are pretty dull anyway, I'd take anything to bring some life back to them.

You don't know how badly I wish this was the case, but DE doesn't really care about the potential of hybrid/trick weaponry. If you want a game that does make full use of this concept, try Bloodborne. Perfect month for it.

DE, please update the arsenal.
(PSN)IndianChiefJeff replied to IanDig's topic in Art, Animation, & UI
Can we please just combine the Vehicle section with the Warframe section so I don't have to keep realizing that they're two separate things whenever I run an Archwing or Railjack mission? -
If DE adds more Tenet/Kuva weapons, what would you like to see?
(PSN)IndianChiefJeff replied to Kasvie's topic in Weapons
Literally everything. Every Tenno weapon deserves a Prime, every Grineer weapon deserves a Kuva variant, and every Corpus weapon deserves a Tenet variant. Weapons shouldn't just fall into obscurity. Sentiments aside, Kuva Twin Marelok is my personal fantasy. -
Add important information in descriptions
(PSN)IndianChiefJeff replied to HunterDigi's topic in Art, Animation, & UI
This isn't Dark Souls. I'm not trying to figure out how to start Big Hat Logan's questline. This is Warframe, a game that supposedly caters to those who optimize their builds, and if even the slightest detail is missing, then players miss out on maximum optimization. Seriously, DE omits way too much. -
Some Nightwave missions are too time consuming for no reason
(PSN)IndianChiefJeff replied to NoxJS's topic in General
That's the whole point of Warframe anymore...It takes up your time. Nightwave especially. -
The Void is their go-to explanation for anything otherworldly & mystical, so it fits.

is a railjack rework on the horizon?
(PSN)IndianChiefJeff replied to Narrrz's topic in General Discussion
I still think Railjacks should utilize Reactors instead of the 'Frame's energy pool. I mean, the Reactor is literally siphoning energy from the Reliquary Drive, which contains a giant Void Finger. The Grineer could use a mix of hybridized regular missions, the Corpus could use some skirmishes, and new Railjack-oriented missions could also be made to let the ship truly shine. Let's not forget the fact that Liches & Sisters still don't have roles outside of Defender! Among other things, I also believe that the Command Intrinsic line could use a major retooling, with one such perk allowing you to use your pets & robots as a 4th specialty crewmate. On the topic of crewmates, DE could devise special manuals that allow us to progressively improve their performance instead of throwing around a few measly perk points. They could even devise rare manuals that could provide your crewmates with "legendary perks", making up for that rank 10 fiasco that they pulled off. And finally, we need more skins, faction-specific skins. -
PSA PSA: Heirloom Collection Platinum Changes & Lessons
(PSN)IndianChiefJeff replied to [DE]Megan's topic in PSAs
Honestly, DE, did you guys blow your budget on TennoCon that you need to make that extra dosh in the quickest way possible? It's rather sad, and you still haven't found a decent compromise. -
What about plants for all the plant pots we already have?
(PSN)IndianChiefJeff replied to PublikDomain's topic in General
Ya' know what would look good in those pots? Maprico trees! (Wait, do we have maprico trees as decor?) -
Can we throw in a Tenet Lanka alongside a Tenet Amprex? I really liked the Lanka back in the day.

I keep bringing up New War because it featured the Drifter with a couple of their Duviri abilities, wielding a primary, secondary & melee in the Origin System. Granted, it's a quest-specific scenario, and we lose access to all that stuff once the Operator & Drifter meet. I understand we're dealing with a character that has 3 different iterations, but the limitations don't prevent me from imagining the potential. Nothing is ever set in stone in this game. The whole Operator melee thing won't sit well with Vexx...Regardless, Drifters already share an animation skeleton with 'Frames, meaning that it's an easier possibility should DE consider acting on it. To those who refuse to use Drifter for anything other than void-related necessities, more power to you. Having it as an option won't detract from anyone's gameplay experience though, it'd ultimately prove useful in the Zariman & Orphix missions.

A reason to invest further into the Drifter's potential. There are certain strengths & weaknesses tied to the Focus System that make this a unique challenge. Modding has been an undeniable convenience throughout the years while the Focus System has been a painful grind, but said system offers decent boons for min-maxers. At the very least, we have Arcanes with neat gimmicks. Honestly, the lack of modding brings up certain implications regarding Duviri's initial balancing act. Your 'Frames still retain their selection of mods on weapons, and it's especially noticeable how much damage you can do through Transference & a well-modded melee. Kullervo's farm was a breeze because of it. It's the consequence of short-sightedness & DE's strange initiative to make another "New Player Experience". Stranger things have happened, like Frame Fighter. It probably won't be immediate, but I'd prefer them to do something rather than nothing. Otherwise, having a full loadout in The New War was just a slap in the face to players like myself.

Everything is a waiting game, from room template-based lore stuff like Leverian to Tenno Reinforcements. I try my utmost to be patient, but even I wonder when, or even if, we'll be receiving a full-on Drifter arsenal expansion for Star Chart. As it stands, forced Transference through melee attacks isn't the most thrilling thing in the world, it's rather redundant. I'd understand DE keeping this for Operators if they never see major changes in the future, but not Drifters. Drifters can use primaries, secondaries & melee weapons, as seen primarily in The New War. I'm just hoping that they'll push for this after TennoCon. If this is released, what exactly will change? How different will Duviri Drifter's combat be in comparison to Star Chart Drifter?
-
It's another safety net akin to Overshields & Shield-Gating, but accessibility is rather limited at the moment. It could prove useful on the right 'Frame, specifically squishies like Loki & Banshee, but it could also prove redundant for tankier 'Frames. That's the magic behind debates like this; players get to know 'Frames inside & out, discussing the necessity of expanded mechanics.

My sincerest apologies, professor Skillet! Mayhaps you have more ideas for Kuva & Tenet weapons? I propose the Kuva Stug, which shoots out globular balls the size of golf balls, doing negative crit & 1% status! Give it an Incarnon & see that crit rise up to 1000%, while status rises up to a measly 10%! Of course, it'll only drop after going through 3 Requiem combinations on a single Lich. All jokes aside, as much as I love the Prisma Grinlok, I'd love to see a Kuva variant alongside whatever Marelok variant they decide to roll with, hopefully with a simultaneous release. Gotta' respect the Grineer counterparts to the Sybaris & Zylok, right?
-
Twin Marelok...? Seriously, I've been wanting that thing for years. I'd even take a Kuva variant. I just want that revolver-twirling animation to be on point! Seriously though, are Incarnon Adaptors a blatant confirmation that we won't be getting Kuva & Tenet variations of pre-existing weapons? DE hasn't even made an effort to provide new nemesis-oriented content in over a year or two.
