  1. I love absolutely everything in this update... except for the objective healing changes. You added a lot of option, except all of them are complete trash and not worth using. A nurmal Hydron defense objective has health in the tens of thousands. 50/s and the like in healing is not going to make a dent in any of it. Just make it percentage based, like prettym uch everyone requested it.

Edit: Also, the Omni tools change really annoys me. Now I actually have to hard lock it in the last spot for easy access, instead of the game doing it for me. Thanks, I hate it.

for those of you crying about the arcane changes:

    - Added the ability to Distill assembled Arcanes back into multiple unranked ones.
    - Adding Arcanes as rewards for Operation: Scarlet Spear

did you miss the above changes again?

The main issue is not the accessibility, it's that the most commonly used ones are absolutely nerfed to oblivion. Aegis will be worthless garbage. Energize, if duration means "regen over time" will not work wit most frames that actually need it and will be a HUGE nerf to caster frames in general, Guardian not retriggering means it's no longer reliable extra defense for squishy frames so it goes straight in the trash.

It's like as if they made Maiming Strike drop from, say, ghouls. Doesn't matter, since it was nerfed to the ground. Accessibility doesn't matter, if the arcanes themselves are not worth collecting anymore anyway.

  3. I'm happy with the overwhelming majority of these changes. Armor scaling change, excav scaling, shield gating.... very good ideas that have been needed for years now, I'm really happy that they are coming now. I'm even willing to give the status changes on shotguns the benefit of the doubt.

However, please reconsider the Arcane changes. Adding 2 extra levels is fine, making this compensate for double stacking is also fine, adding cooldowns and making them not stack is NOT fine! Especially if the "duration" will mean for Arcane Energize to work like a buffed Zenurik dash, because in that case it won't work with channeled abilities, which will be an enormous nerf to every frame that relies on them. I'm a Titania main, without Arcane energize there is no way for me to stay in razorwing form, none. The normal 25 energy orbs suck and not enough drops from them. My builds will be complete garbage if Energize is nerfed like that. There's a reason why everyone wanted Energize: the energy economy without them sucks for channeled abilities.

At the risk of sounding overdramatic, if energize gets axed like that, that will overshadow all the positive notes for me, since it'll make two out of the three favorite builds complete trash. That might just do what the bugged liches and railjack couldn't do combined and actually make me leave. Please, do NOT nerf utility stuff like arcanes, that people put either hundreds of hours or thousands of plat to accumulate. I can understand nerfing weapons, but Arcanes aren't like that, they simply enable a wider range of builds. Don't take that away by nerfing the most commonly used ones to the ground.

  4. Whelp, this almost caused me heart-attack. Logged in, all of my color customization is gone. Like, literally all of it, everything back to default colors, dozens of hours customizing all the stupid crap is down the drain. Logged out then back in and now, thankfully, everything is back to normal and my coloring is present again. Actually losing all my fashionframe would have probably got me into a rage-uninstal... Don't scare me like that DE, this is bad for my health.:whew:

  5. This is even worse with Titania in a way: with her the entire point is always staying in Razorwing form, while the Regulators are so energy consuming that you won't spend like minutes in it at a time. Shouldn't be nerfed either case anyway, since this interaction was never a problem in the first place.

Edit: and if DE decides that arcane should no longer work with exalted weapons, congrats, you just made anything outside of Grace, Energize and Guardian utter junk for absolutely no reason.

    Hey Tenno,

Peacemaker is already a strong ability and the use of Arcane Velocity simply turned that up to 11. While this change was not intended, after some internal back and forth we have made the decision to keep this change. We feel that the two combined makes the already top tier Peacemaker over the top. It still works with Peacemaker, Peacemaker simply cannot trigger it.

We will be editing the patch notes to reflect this.

So, what does this interaction actually break? What makes it so OP that you have to nerf it instead of fixing it? Mesa is still going to be the unchallenged queen of Index. She is still going to be an excellent room clearer. Hell, Arcane Velocity is not even in the top 10 list of most OP things in the game. I've literally never seen anyone complaining how it ruins the game for anyone. This interaction was never an issue.

This won't change the balance in any shape or form. All you've done is made an Arcane go form being useful on a total of 2 frames (Mesa and Titania) from not being worth using on any. You've ruined the fun of Mesa and Titania mains (I'm the latter), made an Arcane that people work hard to grind out or payed quite a bit of plat to buy worth nothing and for what? You achieved nothing positive.

I'm just bummed out. When I saw that it no longer works with Titania after the update, it was very annoying but I was like "eh, whatever, you need to break some eggs to make an omelet, they gonna fix it within a week or so". Now that I know that it'll never get fixed because you nerfed it for absolutely no real reason, I'm... I'm just not in the mood to log in. Like, at all. There's an event, stuff I'd need to do but... I'm just not in the mood anymore. I expect a certain other company, rhyming with electric farts, to have the "fun detected, fun nerfed" approach, not you. I'm just immensely disappointed.

This is the exact same nonsense that we had a month or two back with Helios. Nerfing for the sake of nerfing for absolutely no objective reason. Why?

I feel like the players are the problem. You can't even get a pub group to stay for 20 waves on Hydron or Akkad! I can't figure out for the life of me just what they are afraid of so much that they wouldn't wait for the chance to get an Axi relic! If I think the group is not strong enough I'd just deploy a Shield Osprey, problem solved until at least wave 40. As a developer, why should I commit to creating any high-level content when the majority of my player base doesn't bother to play beyond 10 or 15 minutes in regular modes?

The only thing I can think of that deters players from pushing beyond that 10-minute point is the fear of losing everything they've gained in the mission up to that point. This I understand a little, but I think most mission types are difficult to fail. The ones where you have to protect NPC can get tricky.

Not for bragging but for context: I'm MR 25, got all the gear necessary to essentially solo carry an entire group in Hydron to like wave 40 or so with little effort. Still never do that, and leave at 10. Not because I'm afraid, but because I'm there for one single purpose: leveling gear. And I usually do that in batches, so I put on a frame to leveled, and have 3 weapons to level (or one weapon 3 times after formaing, same deal), equip one of them and go into the mission with only one weapon. That way (with the booster on), I got the weapon to 30 by wave 10. I leave, get on the next weapon and go back to do 10 waves again. Rinse and repeat until I got all the stuff I wanted leveled. Occasionally if only have a frame to be leveled I try to stay beyond wave 10 but it's very rare.

I don't care about the relics from those runs. The newest relics are always available from bounties, which are way faster and more efficient to farm, and I got all the older stuff. If I want to farm relics that I know are going to be vaulted and happen to actually need more relics then I have, I just buy them on the market. One non-vaulted intact Axi relic is about 6-7p. So if I buy, say 10 and open all of them in radshares on average I get 3 rare drops out of those 10 relics. That alone way more than covers the investment even if I sell them right away. If I keep them and build sets to sell a couple months after the vaulting has been done, I get a very nice profit on it. Sure, this initially takes a lot of investment to start rolling, but once you get over that hurdle it's a constant income that let's me skip the parts of the grind I don't like. So why waste time sitting in defense missions? I mean, sure if you enjoy them, go for it. I don't. In fact I hate endless missions, as they are pretty terribly boring. Maybe the only exception is excavation, as that one keeps me on the move, it's not just sitting in the same room forever, waiting for the enemies to come.

  8. Harrow is farmable solo no problem. If you go solo, only three Kavor per group spawn and one group at any given time, which makes it very easy to do. That's how I did it, got Harrow after a couple of days worth of farming.

I got really lucky with Khorra, got all parts during the first week, after only like a dozen or so runs. She is absolutely terrible to farm, if you want her its legitimately a lot less effort to do vault runs until you make enough plat to just buy her in the shop. Has I not been as lucky as I ended up being, that's what I would have done.

  9. Since this old thread was necro'd yet again, here's my two cents: this MR test is by FAR the hardest in the game (I'm MR 25, so passed all of them). See, every other test is either learnable (as in you don't get random orb placement), cheesable with the right tactic or just simple to begin with. This test is none of those. The right path is not memorisable, since it changes every run, there is no cheese tactic and the test is very tightly timed.

I was stuck on it for about two weeks and dreaded the daily tries because I knew I will fail, even if I did well on test runs, because of the sheer pressure and anxiety. And I did, repeatedly. I ended up passing it with Equinox by keeping Maim up while spinning my way from on orb to the other with Maiming Strike. I still almost failed, I remember there was a whopping 1 second left on the timer when I killed the last enemy and passed. Never came back to try the test version again, as I'm so glad I never have to see this damned test again.

As for whether MR 17 or 19 is more difficult: 17, by far. 19 is a joke with Banshee and Redeemer. Redeemer can one hit every enemy all the way because its hitscan bullets with some moddign, so you can just clear out the entire test area from your starting platform, and Banshee's passive will silence it, so enemies won't be alerted. Once everyone is dead, you can just walk leisurely to the orbs, hit them and get the test done. Done it without trial runs on the first attempt easily.
