I think it's acceptable to release mods now that players can choose, but some of these, namely Overextended, simply can't be allowed to exist if DE hopes to ever truly balance combat without needing band-aids like the Nullifier.
I would also prefer to not see Nightmare [sans Shred because it already exists] and Corrupted mods Primed at all.

All I know is that I supported this game because it was a very fair f2p model that didn't have excessive barriers to entry. If there was a frame that caught your fancy, you could very well reach parity with every other player in the world in a reasonable amount of time.
The login queue could have tarnished this if it had continued in its current form and I'm happy that they made a change that gives players some sense of agency over their rewards progression.

as far as I'm aware this can never happen due to the way Sony and Microsoft hold their databases for account details etc which is why console to PC migration has never been offered previously
Well, I'm sure that DE could work something out despite that if it ever actually came to it. It's not as if it's a small amount of money at stake.

Umbra is what you're looking for. Hopefully DE has a bit of sense to realize they could utilize umbra to introduce "Founder's Exclusives" in another form. Lato Umbra, Skana Umbra, Excalibur Umbra. No better nor worse than their prime counterparts (and the Skana P and Excal P could be buffed a bit more significantly as a result.) The Lato P being as powerful as it is with no direct subtitute is not a cool gesture. No other secondary in game is quite like the Lato in feel.
I mean, they could even use the opportunity close the mastery gap by offering Founders the ability to "sacrifice" the Prime variant for an enhanced and distinct version of Umbra.
The more I toss that around, I think I'd like to see that. Everyone gets access to the new "Prime"/Umbra and Founders get the acknowledgement for being there in the game's infancy.
-
I'd imagine that DE will accommodate those players if there were to be an impasse, i.e. Sony doesn't make another console that integrates with PSN and the associated accounts. It's not as if they'd be thrilled to suddenly lose a few million players so I'm certain that they would work with the companies involved and, as a last resort, offer to transfer to PC if the need was there.
tl;dr: Don't worry, DE has a financial incentive to keep the console end rolling.

I'd be okay with Excalibur Prime being available again if it would mean that he could get some updates. I know a lot of other Founders, especially those who spent more, probably won't agree though.

This glyph is my prize possession. My favorite thing in the game, hands down. I got it from InexpensiveGamer on twitch.
I will say one last thing about the lato. Everyone should read the entire post, and not just the screenshot from the OP.
Hit the arrow in the top-left.
DERebecca: A true sign of dedication, vigilance, and lethality, this deadlier version of the Lato will only be wielded by those Tenno who have been with Warframe through the thick and thin of Closed Beta. You have earned it!
And the glaring feature is what is left unsaid. It could very well have been in the context of, "For the foreseeable future," or even, "For all time," but since they made no such statement, then you can't make a forceful declaration that it was meant to be a one-time issue.

Do people really think that exclusive also necessarily carries the connotation of in perpetuity?
It's exclusive for as long as they wish it to be unless there was an actual, black and white statement, that it would be a one-issue release that would stand for all time, akin to the Founders packs.
I have no stake in the game, I do not have the items and I don't really care if they stay restricted, but don't fall back on the word and inject meaning that isn't necessarily there into the original post.

But it's okay to "trample" on every event participant?
I mean, they never explicitly said that it would only ever be wielded by CBT in perpetuity.

I use the Aklex, Akstilleto, Dual Toxocyst, Twin Grakatas, etc. with the following build:

At the end of the day, it’s down to personal taste if you like the skin or not. But bringing the pitchforks out is another thing.
DE did not want to redo the skin, they had to redo the skin.
Yes, and the prevailing opinion seems to be that the second take is sub par. What is wrong with pointing that out?

Like almost everyone who start the game, we chosen excalibur, the number 1, the market boy, etc, etc, etc. He is a very popular frame, according this lists:
list 1mogamu list (tennocon - youtube)
But, why i dont see excalibur in high level content? The short answer, survivability. He is a excelent damage dealer frame...but that it. No good for solo content, not good for raids, not good for high level content, what is the focus of the most high level players.
Excalibur is a melee frame, his name is the name of a sword, he need survivability, like a shield, or life steal, or short invencibility, because he is a melee frame, he need this for player who love him, well, play with him, not just for fun, but in the most mission like we play with rhino, inaros, nidus, ivara, loki...
I ask myself, he is soo popular, but he is a ok frame...is that ok? I really wish a new skill for him, or a new redesign for his 1 and 3 (lets be honest, no one use radial javelin anymore, and the 1 is pretty bad in everyframe, with rare exceptions).
What you guys thinking about it?
(OBS: sorry for my bad english, im from Brasil)
I think it's largely because the stance for Exalted Blade is terribly bland. It's just not all that interesting to dip and duck behind cover while doing the same basic animations to shoot energy waves.
I still use him occasionally but his play patterns quickly become boring despite the fact that his damage is just obscene when he's free to hit.

Like i said in 2 related other threads, I don't like the idea. what will be next? Arcanes drop like any common mod? Is anyone seeing what I'm seeing? Dumbing down the game bit by bit and becoming as casual as possible while the game was FINE. I understand DE is handling business but the game needs other things to be touched instead of fixing what doesn't need to be fixed. New players already have access to youtube content to build like pros with only plat as the limit. Now you want me to accept anyone to get everything while i spent 4 years grinding everything. Why don't they just give everyone a free slot after 40 minutes survivals then? might as well just dumb the game down all the way and get it over with.
How can they be "dumbing down the game" by touching upon a reward system that doesn't interact with any segment of gameplay?

Yeah but we didn't get to choose when forced to get dumb sigils and caches that weren't really all that rewarding. It's kinda obvious that new players are just gonna prioritize all the stuff that gives them mastery.
I understand both sides of the fence, but I feel DE needs to limit the choice players have still - for example they shouldn't be allowed to work for 2 weapons in a row, they should have to break it up and grab a lesser reward in between just as we did.
We don't have 700 on console yet, but I'm nearing 650 and hearing the stream today kind of ruined my motivation to do daily logins. As it stands now I log in religiously, even on days I'm unable to play - I always make a point to turn the PS4 on and do it... now I feel liek I've been wasting 5 minutes of my day every day for the past 2 years. Things I waited 150 days for, somebody will now be able to choose to do in 50.You are still 650 days ahead of any new player that steps into the game. I don't understand this mentality unless you believe that higher count rewards need to simply be better which would be its own can of worms.

dunno about other people but i enjoy the weapons apart from the zenith. Also they aren't there to be good or great imo. that's not the point, the point is they are a prize you work for.
nice user name btwSure, but do you believe that there should be a rhyme or reason as to the particular day that these items are slotted at?
Do you believe that the rewards on day 1000 should necessarily be better than those on day 500 just because it's a higher count? If you don't believe so, then this change shouldn't be unreasonable. If you do believe so, then is it also acceptable that login rewards will then necessarily define the meta after a certain point?
In other words, unless you believe that higher count rewards must necessarily be better than their predecessors, then you shouldn't have an objection if people now have the ability to simply choose what they want.

I think it's a great idea. Opens weapons up to newer players instead of no lifers hugging all long term weapons and those weapons not getting used.
Don't be so closed in about weapons. It's a good thing with availability.
I think it's great because it gives DE the freedom to put more interesting options into the queue that might have otherwise caused a lot of forum strife given the raw number of logins that they would have been gated behind.

They refunded the points. Besides...focus isn't the same as a physical weapon or mod.
It's the same concept though. A few players have already done the hard work so why should they make it easier for everyone else when they've proven that it can be done?
I understand why you feel a bit slighted but I don't believe that any change will ever be a pure positive.

I still feel it's a bad decision. You're free to disagree. In the end [DE] is going to do whatever best serves their bottom line. New players tend to spend more money on plat than vets that have everything already, so I can't really blame [DE] for placing a really high importance on new player satisfaction.
It still seems messed up that I had to wait 300 days to get my Zenistar, but some new player will be able to get it in 50 (or whatever the final time frame is). In the end, it's only a game and I won't lose any sleep over it, but I do feel a bit shafted by the reward being so quickly obtained by others when I had to wait much longer for it.
With this mentality though, is it not completely unfair then to even think about tweaking Focus 2.0 given that a handful of players are close to capping waybounds?
-
I'm not sure that prestige is a valid enough reason to lock new content away from players for upwards of 2 years. If you've been faithfully logging in ever since the change, then you already have an advantage in that you'll have everything at once and will continue to do so.
Put yourself in the shoes of some of the players that came before you and religiously logged in prior to the change... is it fair to say that your logins are more meaningful than theirs, especially when they've never been credited for that time?

Making an argument based around unfounded speculation. There's a logical fallacy for that.
Name it then.
I see no issue with having concerns about what the next Primed Mod in the login queue will be. This change still gives an advantage to those who have kept up while everyone else who is behind can now get exactly what they want without having to slog through years of logins just to get there.
-

Sounds fair on paper for now. DE should have kept the login system the same though...
The problem isn't what is already in the queue, it's what they might want to put in. Think of how awful it would feel for most players if they put Primed Streamline, Hornet Strike, etc. at day 1000+.
Suddenly, a player can't have that comfortable feeling that they've "finished" a build for at least 2.5+ years of menial tasks completed outside of the normal progression.
-
Honestly, they should just make an exception. You supported them in their infancy and you should at least be granted one "free pass" for an honest mistake.
-
Why? It's because Riven mods weren't actually created with the intention to provide an avenue for buffing normally weak or non-meta weapons, they were made to create demand for exceptionally expensive meta mods and push plat sales.
It wouldn't do to allow a dedicated player to simply brute force something decent through sheer breadth for "free."
The endless "Void" left by the Relic System

I like the Relic system, but I also miss having a real justification for the existence of Eternal War Valkyr and Ice Chroma with all the forma bells and arcane whistles. I miss feeling as if a 3 hour run in Void Survival was an actual rewarding experience.
