According to Drew, it's to prevent rampant and counterproductive use of the upvote feature.
Ex: I upvote the OP's proposal, then upvote every single counterpoint against said proposal. Then I upvote every proponent just for good measure.

Seriously though, the cap on upvotes keeps people from upvoting entire threads of posts.

What is amazing to me, after everything we've been through, as players and even as collaborators, to (one of) the best free to play game(s) ever made; one that redefined the "FREE TO PLAY" model, is that suddenly, and, without any credence, we so certainly and unquestionably assume the worst of everyone and everything we had placed so much hope and trust in up to this very point.
Yes, we can have faith, but we can also stir up the craziest sh!tstorm ever to make sure nothing detrimental to the interests of the playerbase actually happens.

That will just provide more incentive for whoever is responsible for the deal to go through with it.

Other people have suggested that we the Warframe community shouldn't log in until we get a response from DE. That sounds good to me.....I just wonder when Rebecca responds will she get a bunch of up votes like she always does?
Nope, bad idea.
Llyssa actually told everyone in this thread why that's a bad idea: it makes it cheaper for PW to buy DE's stock and it makes DE more desperate to increase their revenue.
What we should be trying to do is inflate Warframe's value to the point that PW can't even begin to buy out DE's stocks.

Nah, DE just suck at communicating with their playerbase when sh*tstorms happen.
They always clam up and wait, I've seen it happen time and time again.
Almost every time the reality wasn't what we expected (aka the worst)
And EVERY TIME the sh*tstorm could've been avoided with a single post.
ONCE, only ONCE did I see DE avoid a massive nuclear flamewar by actually communicating. It was about a XP sharing change that wasn't implemented because everybody said it was a bad, bad, BAD idea. ONCE.
So no, there's no malice in DE's silence, they just suck at PR.
The Breeding Grounds statement only took a few hours.

Also, if "outstanding" actually means floating & unrestricted shares, there's always the chance that DE has only made 49% or less of its shares available (and left the rest restricted). Which would be fine because PWE wouldn't own the company.
