    Thank You for that info.

I'm just wondering considering that the PS5 system will be so much faster than any other system is the game going to be optimized to the slowest systems (X-Box SX)

So, the PS5's Speed isn't from processing power - it's from the internal Solid State Drive, which is just an efficient form of memory storage.  There's no optimization differences between a SSD on the PS5 and an SSD in a home PC.  The main points in Warframe where things need to load quickly are at the Doors that separate tiles into manageable chunks - and most "door lag" comes from a poor connection to the host, not your hard drive's ability to call up information.

So, unless the PS5 comes with brand new internet wires all the way across the country, you won't see any difference.

Account merging/transfer, if not full cross-platform play.

Talk to Sony.  historically they're the ones who are holding back cross-platform actions.  They did it to Rocket League (to the point where the Devs "accidentally" turned on cross-platform themselves one day, only shutting it off when Sony called and said No).  Maybe when the PS5 drops this winter, you'll see some advancement.

Credits/Endo/Ducats are all combined into one balance. Combine inventory (blueprints, mods, parts etc.) with the exception of quest items.

To your first sentence: no, that is not a good idea.  They serve different purposes.  Credits exist as a fiat grind currency, exchanged for goods and services (such as buying BP or constructing items).  Endo exists as an investment to empower the player by ranking up mods, and Ducats act as a "sink" for players to exchange valuable items and prevent a market destabilization.  Because relics are functionally infinite, and prime parts are of limited utility to any individual, Baro's personal currency requiring the exchange of prime parts for ducats means that your inventory isn't drowning in useless relics that have no use to you or value to anyone else.

As for a combined inventory (not really sure what that means): escape->equipment->inventory.  first tab is "all".  That's everything you own in a pile.

Okay, after reading the whole of your post, i determined what you actually want is for your console inventory to merge with your PC inventory.  Again, talk to Sony.

Refund all platinum purchases post-merge. At least the ones spent in the ingame store. After all, odds are players bought the same color palettes and cosmetics on multiple platforms when they only should need to buy them once. Or they bought forma to polarize items they already polarized on other platforms. You get the drift.

This would require an astronomical amount of bookkeeping for your hypothetical future merged players.  All i can say is, you played in two separate instance, your walled gardens, and you used the same toys in each one.  But when the big move comes, i'm not sure if you'll get tot take those toys, or if they'll compensate you in other ways.  DE are kind benefactors, but you're asking for a lot of records to be combed through.

    Quote

If you bought multiples of the same Prime pack on different platforms, you can either convert the duplicates into their Platinum equivalent, keep them, or pick a different past or present pack. This includes different dual packs. So if you bought Loki Prime in different packs (Ember and Loki, Volt and Loki) that Loki is considered a duplicate purchase.

Okay, we're still on the hypothetical super-merger.  Talk to Sony.

Story reset. Start the game from the beginning of the campaign. Alignment/Greed choices also reset.

No.  We're not done with the first one yet.  It's an MMO. the story moves forward with or without you.

Limited time events. Stop doing them. All events should be regularly occurring, like the Ghoul event and Thermia Fracture event. Stalkers Acolyte can remain a rarer event, as can the Plague Star event. The rarity of those events are what make them special. They're still technically reoccurring, so it's fine.

They haven't done a one-and-done limited time event in about three years now.  All current and future events are recurring.

    Quote

Events that have an impact on the main storyline- Tubemen of Regor, Shadow Debt- need to be recreated as single player quests and inserted into the storyline proper. Your timeline is broken without them. I realize there is obstacles to this. Make it happen anyway. It simply can't be left as is. Period.

Ehh.  I started playing long after those events, and yeah, timeline is a little sideways, but it's the origin system.  I can always ask about it.  I'd rather enjoy if those events returned... mostly so i could get the ignis wraith BP for my clan, but i'm not exactly "period" level severity on it.  If DE has the free time and could give players a version of the quests, that'd be *fine*.

Nightwave episodes linked to individual account. If you just joined, you'll start with Wolf of Saturn Six and progress from there at your own pace and move on when you're ready. No more FOMO.

Nah.  Dude, you only need to do 60% of the nightwave to get 100% of the rewards.  it's a extremely forgiving and free battle-pass equivalent.  Besides, if it was "at your own pace" there wouldn't be an incentive to log in every day or three to check for the new little challenges.  Not to mention, if you DID miss something, there are other means of getting it.  Want the wolf sledge?  wolf beacons.  Want the infested glaive thingy i can't remember the name of?  Hey- the mission is on the derelict as a new fight.

  3. Sooo... the variability of the pets *greatly* depends on the pet's survival method, and the frame being used.

For instance, I've been playing a lot of hildryn recently, using a fairly traditional "all shields" hildryn build (instead of the gimmicky "just shield gate constantly" build.

Equipping a "link shields" to my Smeeta Kavat resulted in a near immortal smeeta, able to drop into invisibility often enough that the shields could fully recharge.  Furthermore, now that shield gating is a *thing* and it works for pets too, your pet has that part of a second to do it's defensive mod ability whenever shields pop, and some are just innately superior to others.

the three kavat self-preservation mods are fairly decent.  Reflect is about 40% Damage mitigation, Vasca restores 10% of it's own health every time it attacks, which mitigates a lot of the long-term-ware down that happens to pets, and Smeeta has  the excellent ability to not only make a decoy that draws all fire but also go invisible for a duration.  Really at that point the only thing that threatens those pets are enemies with big AoE damage dealings, like toxic ancients.

The Kubrow self-preservation mods are all over the map.  Huras is also invisibility, but it's broken when you attack.  Raksha repels nearby enemies (sometimes), but that doesn't always make them stop shooting. Sahasa periodically generate health, energy, and ammo, the health orbs also healing the kubrow, so, that works.  Chesa disarm one enemy at a time... while this does help, it's not exactly a great survival strategy against robots or infested.

Sunika don't have a survival mod.  They have a "big damage" mod, and a "one mission type" mod.  Weird.

And the Helminth just treat enemies like bowling pins, because if your opponent is knocked down, they aren't shooting at you.

So,  that's kinda a part of why the survival of our pets is so flaky.

Really, if i had to change anything, i'd make Medi-pet kit restore a percentage of health per second, instead of just 6 points.

Does anyone still use the "Vanilla" versions of their Warframes after getting their hands on the Prime version?  Or is it just a generally accepted fact that if you have the Prime version of a frame, the only reason to hang on to the old one is if you haven't gotten it to max rank for Mastery points?  What's the community's generally accepted wisdom in this matter?

I'm just wondering if it's a waste of Forma and time to build up a Warframe that will probably just end up collecting dust if I find the Prime Parts to make the "I'm you but cooler" version, but am not at that point yet and aren't sure if a max-ranked, un-Forma'd Warframe will cut it until that point.

    I treat it like this:

If you are chasing MR, you need to rank everything up to 30, all the original warframes, and all the prime frames.

I started around the time Octavia was released, and just had my 700th login to get my Zenith.  I quite enjoy cracking relics, so i have basically made / used around 600-ish forma by now.  I had Zephyr prime long before I got actual zephyr.

That said, I used a LOT of Loki before i got my hands on loki prime. and during that time, I sank a forma into him.  I don't regret it at all.  It made my invisibility time longer and let me enjoy my time playing loki more.

If you go out and just do random pub missions, over time, you will rack up a good collection of parts for vaulted prime weapons and prime frames.  After a while, you can look at your inventory or foundry and make a mental shopping list: i need these neuroptics and this barrel and that grip.... The trading market will easily supply you with more platinum than you need to buy most vaulted pieces to finish out a complete Prime set, or you can just run fissure missions and make requests of your fellow tenno.  "Does anyone have an Oberon relic?  Thank you for running it..." etc.

As for Forma investment: Dump forma into the Primes, you can use those forever.  Be selective with the forma on frames you get that have an existing prime, since you'll probably replace them and need to forma all over... but brand new frames?  DE is gonna take 4 years to release the prime versions, You might as well Forma them and sink all the resources you want into them.

  5. Looking through the various weapons stances:

Most weapon Groups only have 1-2 stances in them.  (I'll shorten the polarity names down to their first letter for ease of reference)

    Spoiler

Swords have U and M stances,

Dual Swords are Z or N,

    Nikana are all M,

    Daggers are N or M,

    Machetes are all Z,

fist weapons are all V or U,

    sparring all U or N,

    Glaives are all N,

    staffs are M or R,

polearms are all N or Z,

Whips are all V or Z,

hammers are all V or M,

Heavy Blades are all M or V,

    Scythes are N or Z,

    Claws are all M,

Sword & Shield are all M,

    Tonfa are M or N,

    Gunblades are just M,

    Nunchaku are only V,

    Bladed whips are just M,

    Rapiers are just N,

there is only one warfan and it is N,

and there is only one two-handed nikana and it is M.

The Dual Daggers weapon type has three stances, Z, U, and V, but there are only four dual daggers, so it's not the most pressing concern for a stance aura mod.

The only weapon I found that comes without an innate stance polarity is the Dual Heat Swords.  The only weapon I found with no immediate stance compatibility was the Dark Dagger (though the Dark Split-Sword also kinda counts?)

If i really wanted to put one on a weapon with the other's polarity, i'd spend ONE forma.   if i decided i didn't like it, it would only be ONE forma to swap it back.  4 forma creation cost is outrageous for something like this.

Why not just let Chroma use the effigy to fly instead of possessing it? It would be a lot better fashion wise.

Just let Chroma uses his weapons mid flight, BUT holding Melee will do spectral scream and pressing Heavy attack bind will do Roar. Heck, allow Hildryn uses her weapons in Aegis Storm aswell.

The problem with this is actually warframe's enemies:

Old Warframe AI?  Cannot Look Up.  Steve has said as much when discussing the reasons behind the surface-to-air missiles on the open world maps.  So, in order to balance our "Flies in regular maps" frames, we get restricted powers and abilities.  Titania only has her Exalted armaments, Hildryn forcibly lifts enemies who get inside the AI error radius, Wukong is intangible, Zephyr can't attack during her launch, etc.  So, by restricting us to the range-limited spectral scream / radial roar, we get a fair effigy.  something DE can test and ship without major havoc.

  7. Alright, so, I had a entirely Separate idea:

Chroma, is a DRAGON.  what qualities do we ascribe to dragons?  Big flaming breath, wings, impenetrable scales... and GREED.

Right now, his greed is reflected only in his Effigy doubling the credits dropped within a small radius.  But we can do MORE.

Give Chroma a gauge, similar to Ember's, but instead of filling due to enemy damage, or growing slowly over time, this one fills from Picking Up Loot.

Snag the contents of a typical locker?  Get a small amount of the gauge filled, and it depletes over time.  Kill a ton of dudes, grab rare mods and mountains of credits, and you get get a full loot gauge, which holds for a little while before decaying.

What does the gauge do?  It augments Chroma's Spectral Scream, Elemental Ward, and Effigy.  Effectively increasing Power Strength and Range for these powers.  A fully looted Chroma's Spectral Scream is *actually worth casting* stacking over 100% status chance (taking advantage of the new status changes), it can also add effects like an increased Arc of Fire (turning from a Embolist stream into Ignis and then a hallway-clearer with a 45 degree or more spread).  The existing Augment, "Afterburn" doesn't even need to change (well, except possibly also being effected by the gauge)

Elemental Ward can simply expand in radius as the gauge fills, turning contemporary Chroma from a "Blink and you'll miss the buff" 12 meters over time to a "Stay on this tile" 24 or even 36 meters.  The augment "everlasting ward" effectively would turn chroma into a mobile Wisp Reservoir, As players bounce into your radius, they get the effect, and it lingers for the remaining duration.  Now keeping your Elemental ward up is good for the whole team.

Vex Armor is fine, and can stay as it is, and should.  it's already incredibly powerful, and we can be happy with this.

Finally, Effigy - i'm a big proponent of the new Tap / Hold ability mechanics we see.  On tap?  Shed the Effigy, it hovers in one place, the more your greed gauge is filled, the more damage it does, the more range it has with it's breath attack and scream.  Hold the button?  You posses the effigy, your core body drops to a knee and stays where it is, using whatever weaponry it has equipped.  You can fly around (fairly slowly, but still) and attack using the Spectral Scream, or alt-fire for a Radial Stun Roar .  The main thing is that your Effigy has limited health and this form depletes energy faster, but players get to FLY which is what many of us wanted to do in the first place.  Even if the flight is more hildryn than Titania, it'd be cool.

    So, how's those thoughs?

    questions for the devstream

    1. on reoccurring events where previous events points carry over like for example the thermia fractures are there any plans on adding additional reward tiers for the players that got the opticor vandal in a previous run of the event?

This this this... i don't care if it just gives us Fortuna relevant things, it'd give vets who 100%-ed the Thermia fractures a reason to help the young players trying to get their Opticor Vandal for the first time.

To elaborate on this: FORCED is the key word here.
I am 100% for allowing vaccum or fetch to work in Razorwing if you have them equipped, however please take into consideration that some people are purposefully saving energy orbs, so that they can fill their energy right away, when for example one is using Razorwing (a toggled ability!) and they go "dry".
To a lesser extent it also applies to ammo packs: Instead of being able to collect ammo packs and not waste their potential, due to constant "vacuuming" you are getting pack of, let us say 60 rounds, when you have only used 10 rounds, thus wasting 50 rounds - assuming you are jumping in and out of Razorwing.

I'm just gonna put this out there:

Some people are really, really, really uh, "rectal" about their use of energy.

When i have 638 energy and use 1.96 energy per second, I seriously do not worry about picking up a loose 25 energy orb when i'm only down by 22.  The Dex Pixia has infinite ammo, so any ammo picked up will only serve to refill my (holstered) primary and secondaries.  This also is not a concern for normal people, but, again... "rectal".

I will probably never be able to understand this mindset.

  10. The prova weapon family has the exclusive Static Discharge mod.  On heavy attack, it hits "nearby" enemies with 80% of the weapon's damage (electrical)

The issue is that "nearby" appears to have no range at all.

The only stance for the Prova is Shimmering Blight, and it's heavy attack is a spin which hits enemies in reach multiple times.  If an enemy is outside of heavy attack range, they do not receive any Static Discharge damage.

Effectively Static Discharge just adds +80% of the base damage (no multiplier) as an electrical effect to enemies you will already be smacking 3 times with the heavy attack spin (plus multiplier)

Shouldn't this be more like "enemies within 3-5 meters of you" or whatever?  I feel like just lightly caressing enemies with an extra electrical proc before you plow them into the ground with a heavy attack is just less effective than it should be.

  11. 49 minutes ago, theFGMK said:

Honestly, I'd love to have it. But there is no way I will farm the missing 2k ducats before Baro leaves again. So I am not even trying.

Now's a good time, People are DUMPING radiant relics into every endless fissure mission.  I got 3 golds and my choice of silvers out of the last run, and the Ducanator over on Warframe.market was really helpful for picking out which of my prime junk i could part with easiest.  I don't think any of the things i sold have a market value of more than 10 plat.

  12. The Prova family of weapons has a specific mod "Static Discharge", which promises to deal 80% of the weapon's damage as Electricity damage to "nearby" enemies on charge attacks.

"Nearby" does not seem to have any range associated with it.  Simulacrum testing of Heavy attacks has revealed that the electrical static proc is smaller than the range of the heavy attack itself, i am not able to cause an electrical discharge on any enemy which I would not also hit with the Shimmering Blight heavy attack (a spin attack that strikes all enemies nearby multiple times.)  however, i am able to strike enemies without inflicting the Static Discharge damage. Applying primed reach does not extend the range of the Static Discharge either, but it definitely extends the reach of heavy attacks.

So, on heavy attack, inflict an extra 80% electric damage, to enemies that you would already smash with your spinning heavy attack.

I am conflicted on whether or not this is working as intended, or if it was just forgotten in the melee rework.

    Thank you for your time.

  13. It's a coin flip.  I've bred 3 kavats with no imprints involved, gotten two smeeta and one adaza.

You just had the misfortune of having it land on Cat's Eyes five times in a row.

On the kubrow side, it's a fair dice roll, and it only took me two repeats to manage a full set of planetary puppers.

  14. I know the method of obtaining one involves taking one of my domestic kavats to the plains at night and getting them infected, then they transform - but there's one important thing I may have missed.

Here is the question: after the transformation process, does your Kavat keep their old polarities / forma investment?

I ask because i have a lovely Smeeta Kavat i purpose bred for this update, and i've gotten her to rank 30 , but want sorely to invest the 5-ish forma that kavats take to realize their full potential.

  15. Alright, this has gotten wonderfully off topic.  All the same, I want to chip in that you cannot understand the small pain of having your phone wake you up at 3 am because there is a alert for an Orokin reactor, which you desperately need for your newly built Rhino, because the star chart isn't gonna unlock itself.  Booting your computer, playing one mission, starting reactor construction in your foundry, then looking at the time to see that you need to be at work in just two hours.

New system is much, much kinder - better for all players.

  16. We all know that, eventually, your favorite syndicates will be picking up mods for our new speedster, so, fan concepts gogogo.

Catalytic Inversion (augment for Gauss's Thermal Sunder)

Tapping drains the battery and produces a heat damage effect, Holding charges the battery and produces a cold damage effect, using both produces a blast damage on effected enemies, and when in redline restores health and shields to Gauss based on number of enemies damaged.

    Reasons:

    1. Yes, this flips the tap / hold powers normally produced by thermal sunder, which

    2. This provides Gauss with a small amount of sustain, because while it is very easy to become 100% immune to multiple forms of damage, he does not have an existing recovery mechanic other than picking up orbs.

Frame Drafting (augment for Gauss's Mach Rush)

When activated, all allies within (distance, possibly scaling) gain a (percentage, possibly scaling) speed boost for (duration, possibly scaling)

    Reasons:

    1. Gauss's team support roles are currently fairly limited, he can armor strip a small area, and CC somewhat chaotically, but he is very much a hit & run frame.

    2. Helping the party is always a plus.

Reactive Armor (a Kinetic Plating augment)

Damage taken from electric, radiation, or magnetic sources extends the duration of Kinetic Plating (optionally: may also charge Gauss's battery in the process)

    Reasons:

    1. Situational coverage and protection for Gauss, notably against corrupted and Corpus enemies.

    2. Does not make his armor invincible, just extends it's functions, as a good mod should.

    Blue Shift (a Redline augment)

During Redline while the gauge is above 80%, and Gauss kills an enemy, Gauss produces waves of energy that restore shields and energy to allies within (distance) of Gauss.

    Reasons

    1. Team support is good, providing energy is arguably one of the best team supports.

    2. I kept thinking Blue Shift would be a fun name for a Red Line mod, on our resident speedyboi.

Thoughts?  Gauss, as he is, has a mile of leeway in his mods (as I perceive it), since most players have put literally every sprint speed mod on him, so he's probably going to be able to take two augments without much trouble.

Why does a rubico riven, even with 1 star disposition, have so great stats and other weapons with 2 stars are almost unusable?

Whenever a weapon comes into "the meta" it immediately makes certain types of players obsess over it.

There is a "meta" to hunting eidolons.  You need one of a select list of frames, built to perform one of the select roles for eidolon hunting.  You need to have corrosive projections equipped to three team members so you strip 90% of the armor.  You have to get the correct amp so you deplete the shields.  You need the right focus talents to increase your operator performance, but most of all, if you want to improve your efficiency, getting a sniper rifle riven is an absolute must.

The Rubico Prime is currently "the meta" for hunting eidolons.  It's riven disposition is tanking right now, sure, due to heavy use among the eidolon farming set, but even a one-spot riven is potentially better than sticking a 60/60 on in it's place.

The sheer number of people using the Rubico is precisely why it has such a low disposition.  If fewer people were using it, you would see the power of the riven grow, just like Lanka has seen tiny ticks up in disposition since Rubico prime was unveiled.  And while it may take Lanka a long time to crawl out of the hole that it's users dug for it - it will eventually achieve a harmonious balance with the Rubico Prime.

  18. We've seen a zealoid.  It showed up as a new infested unit in the empyrean demo.  It looks like a more melee focussed ancient, with a massive smashy arm.

So, good to see infested getting new units.  The zealots are already somewhat impressive, though their numbers are few, running into people packing heavy infested weaponry is a legit threat, and would provide a significant change to how you confront the usual waves on waves of enemy infested.  The zealoids should be a good boss fight for whatever new infested weapon we're getting!  Hope for a two handed nikana to rival my tatsu!

  19. "The Riven System" is really vague, indistinct set of multiple moving parts we should break down a bit.

    1) Getting a riven

You have a fixed percentage chance to get a riven mod each day from sortie, should you choose to do the three missions.  The three missions are of reasonable difficulty given the rewards pool.  Overall, I do not believe any player has any problem with this as a method of obtaining a riven - except on days with spy missions because Ffffffff-

    2) unveiling a riven

The challenges to unveil a riven mod can be seen as a small, fourth mission addition to the sortie.  Sometimes these are comically easy, sometimes they are impossible for a tenno to accomplish at the point they are in the game, however, the riven mod can be left alone in your inventory until you are ready to unveil it, traded with another player for a not insignificant amount of platinum even while veiled, or even just set on your preferred weapon to passively leech accomplishment over time.  This is overall fine and acceptable.

    3) Once unveiled

As a player, a randomly selected weapon which you may or may not own or be of sufficient MR to use, just got a potential massive increase in power along a random set of parameters, or you might get a piece of abject crap that grants +magazine size to a bow or -100% damage on anything.  The result is extremely random.  My first riven was for the Tiberon, a gun I only knew because I had most of the parts for the prime variant in my foundry, but was not high enough MR to build it.  So, instead of trading away my riven or doing more sorties, I started a weeks long MR grind to be able to use that selectable fire rifle, and Tiberon prime remains one of my most used guns, despite, on reflection, the riven I have for it being merely good, not amazing like many later unveils.

    4) re-rolling, the kuva grind.

Here's probably the stumbling block.  Once unveiled, re-rolling the stats requires a steadily increasing amount of kuva, plateauing at the 10th roll.  Because every stat is changed on a re-roll, it always causes this brief moment of panic: is 83% multishot and with bonus electric damage and an expanded magazine worth losing my 120% critical chance with reduced recoil and projectile flight speed? (I'm not specifying any weapons here, but you've all had to make a choice between two "not exactly what I wanted" results like this before).

The accepted fastest way to farm kuva is (with no boosters or pet chicanery in this explanation) at the top of the hour, do the kuva flood mission.  Then go do kuva survivals until either your party starts dying or they manage to destroy a harvester, extract, then do one or two kuva syphon missions while waiting for the flood to reset as the clock strikes the next hour.  Understatement incoming:  This can get somewhat monotonous.  However, this can be rectified with the inclusion of additional game modes that provide comparable amounts of Kuva, for example, the nightwave offering 10k kuva for just doing nightwave missions that we would do normally is a fantastic inclusion, and the upcoming Kuva Fortress Disruption game node, we may be seeing less tedious kuva farming on the horizon.

    5) trading (or, why the last vestiges of the riven mafia will never be eradicated)

Here's the issue: in a market where the quality of a product has a direct impact on its price, but also the awareness of the seller is a key factor, there will be people who prey on ignorance.  A perfect riven for the meta weapon might be traded by a foolish player to a cunning dish-rag of a human in exchange for an Ammo drum and promises of Hollywood fame, with how hard they are being "me too"'d.  Mine took a Rubico riven for a Prova riven they had allready rolled 10 times.  Yes, they are in my clan.  Yes, I hold it against them.  Still salty.

    6) final thoughts

Overall, the "riven system" is fine.  The only issues come from monotonous survival missions (which DE is addressing), the random rerolls (which you can take or leave at your leisure), and human waste that defraud newbies for their lucky spoils.  You know who you are.
