  1. Eclipse was an ability in helminth that was useful for people wanting to use weapons over frame abilities to kill enemies. Now its just a subpar roar, as roar also gives same weapon damage boost at 30%, but roar additionally increases ability damage too.

What pisses me off even further is the simple fact that DE does this sort of $hit to any useful ability (marked for death, roar, eclipse, warcry) but does absolute jack$hit to curb the thermal sunder spam, when they have the data on how that ability has been used.

It's not a bug, there is a "charge rate" mod, it's the one I use for it:

Ah yes, allow the fire rate to change the charge rate in normal weapons, but make a S#&$ty mod for it in archgun. Like seriously, can we not have one integrated system for weapons or confusing mods just for once?

Guys, is it just me or Nova Atomica skin's private area mesh messed up?

  3. Guys, a bug with the newest hotfix. Can you see what is wrong?

    https://imgur.com/a/1alvUSs

If you cannot, the sword and shield skin (from the dryad deluxe) is bugged, with shield skin rotated 180 degrees in such a way that the arm mounting points can be seen.

Also, the bug does not stop till there. This bug exists for ALL sword and shield class of weapon, skin or no skin.

Thanks for the suggestion, but trust me, healing is the last thing I need right now. 😅 My problem is not being able to kill anything above mid level fast enough since I don't have the mods or Endo to upgrade them. I'm 52 hrs old in WF right now. I can't do Sorties because I can't get past Vay Hek. I don't take any dmg, but I can't deal anything decent to him either. I hate all of these grineer bosses. Especially any game that needs a stupidly difficult puzzle to solve. 😡

Mate, each boss has its own mechanics and approach which needs to be taken to defeat them. Most are straight forward come in, shoot and go. but some are different. If you like, I can explain mechanics of all bosses if you can contact me in-game.

It's literally what Rivens were created for. Lol They weren't even intended to be usable for top tier weapons initially.

The solution would simply be to go back to the original plan of not allowing top tier weapons to have Rivens at all...

If you get to upgrade every weapon however you want, then put rivens on top of it...that's exactly power creep. If you could upgrade every weapon how you wanted in the first place then Rivens wouldn't even need to exist to begin with since everything could already potentially be generally equal.

Personally, I like your idea of acquiring a (rare) resource to use to upgrade weapon stats how you choose, incrementally. It can still be an ongoing grind with more tangible returns. As long as they make it tradable for platinum it won't hurt DE's or players' income potential from it.

The issue here is not that rivens exist but the fact that even a small increment in big stats give big output, but a huge percentage increment in small numbers is still small. The best example for this would be a comparision of Twin Vipers and Pyrana Prime.

    • Twin vipers> 5 dispo, damn strong rivens, still low to moderate damage, very rarely a level 60-80 enemy shredding damage. (personal experience, need 2-3 clips of 40 rounds for sortie level grineer, rivened)
    • Pyrana Prime> 1 dispo, still can kill sortie enemies without rivens.

That is the reason I said that we be allowed to even upgrade normal weapon and then apply riven for extra kick.

My other reason to believe that rivens are a band aid solution to power creep of weapons is the existence of disposition system itself. Weaker weapons tend to be used less and less, compared to stronger ones. So lower disposition for stronger weapons, but higher disposition for weaker weapons. The plan (most probably) here was to give insane buffs to weak weapons to make them relevant, not realizing that 300% of 5 would be just 15, not mind blowing 150 or 200. (Same issue used to be with Primed Reach, if anyone wants a small recall). It just makes weapons that could be fun due to their mechanics not being used at all due to the said weapon being weaker in dps. ( Seriously, its fun watching 40 rounds go off in a second and brrrrrrzt sound of twin vipers)

I'm not against rivens, but I hate the way DE has implemented it.

I still want the lowest disposition Riven stats to be even lower.

Top tier weapons weren't supposed to have good Rivens to keep them top tier even compared to other god roll Rivened weapons. The entire point of Rivens was to bring weaker weapons up to increase weapon diversity. Most of the time people are still only seeking out Rivens for current top tier weapons to further power creep.

Personally speaking, rivens are not the solution to this issue, it works, at best, like a band aid solution, but never fixing the real issue, which is power creep. The best way would be to allow every player to upgrade weapon to their personal satisfaction (not giving a damn about primes being out classed by a well upgraded basic). Then giving every weapon a riven of same disposition. that way u can get a weapon to required level and have fun with a mad riven. Right now, weapons like Lato Vandal are forced to rely on a riven just to compete with a normal un-rivened Lex Prime.

    To make it clear:

Lets say we want high CC for our weapon. Then we farm a certain resource, upgrade the gun for high CC and be done (older players have S#&$ ton of resources just lying around in inventory with no use).

This will put it up with par on other weapons.

Next, allow all rivens to be of same dispo so that they can be fun, not necessity.

For this, I've resorted to Kogake Prime with a Kogake Exidex riven. +finisher damage and + status. People often call it trash but I mainly use it on my Ash with fatal teleport and get 656% finisher damage. I insta kill ANYTHING I can use a finisher on.

I'm pretty sure you love that riven, but then again, its a riven. Covert lethality used to be a cheap mod which could work wonders ( no piss on your riven). Rivens are more of a pain than support, as 90% of time, either they are trash, not of weapon you use, or don't give the stats you want.

Also, if you can afford, try getting a finisher damage riven for Fragor, and use it with Fragor Prime. Hammers have highest multiplier on finishers, so can go even higher 😝

if you're having difficulty Killing Enemies, sounds like the next step is to collect more types of Damage Mods.

i always found Damage to be pretty useful for Killing tougher Enemies, it's always worked out pretty well. so i'd figure the go to would be Damage.

Err, it was never an answer to the initial question, tbh. Someone just suggested using Covert Lethality with Inaros, and I was just clarifying that the mod in question cannot be used for insta kills like before, which used to be quite handy against a lvl 100 bombard or nox unit

It's hard and a little unfair to compare the two, but Broken War has a much higher Slash focus and can become good with Crits, while War itself has a good Crit/Status split and does more damage, at the cost of most of that damage being Impact, which means Slash procs are few, far between, and kind of anemic.  This said, Fixed War does benefit far more from Status mods, which means you'll be proccing more often, and this gap widens as more 60/60s are added to the mix, and it's got better range.

Really, it depends.  Do you want a high-slash single handed sword that crits a ton?  Or do you want a heavy hammer-sword that's going to proc statuses a lot?

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt stance also affect which status you end up proc-ing? Cuz i use Vengeful Revenant with damn satifying results for Broken War.

About War, I cannot say. Haven't gotten any chance to test it after the melee rework.

I've used both, but I still prefer Galatine prime. Basically combines the slash damage of Broken War with the size and strength of War. I may be biased to heavy blades due to sheer damage so I'd say War, and you can mod the slash damage so it's equal to impact giving you a weapon that is pretty well balanced between the damage types.

For the mean time keep using Broken War and decide if you want to build War later on. If you don't use Broken War that much then it's worth building War, and there are a lot of regular swords that you can use as well.

Ah the Galatine Prime, beauty queen and he old powerhouse of all heavy blades. Still hits quite hard no doubt. But nowadays I would take Paracesis for most missions, if  I choose heavy blade. A fun blade, hits hard plus can eliminate sentients fast. But maybe that's just me 😋.

TBH, in raw power alone, Gram prime is unmatched, although slow. Galatine prime is a nice mix of power speed and range, Paracesis being a jack of all trades, king of sentient killing melee.

Invisibility does not solve everything though.  Some animals can see through it like Bolarola.

Actually, no. My experience with them says that they can't see us when we are invisible, but (here is the interesting bit) if you hit their armor-like plates with tranq rifles instead of their bellies,(side ward shot, close range, about 5-10m) they get alerted and try to escape. So staying invisible will allow you to creep nearer to the target and the that perfect shot for perfect capture. But it might be possible that the behaviour is different due to different platforms, I cant confirm that

Oh, I plan on doing a LOT of hunting, not just for Standing, but also for the sake of...well...roleplaying for lack of a better term.  Studies show that to repopulate a species, you need at least 50 individuals to combat inbreeding, 500 to reduce genetic drift.  If my Operator is SERIOUS about saving the cute and cuddly critters of both the Orb Vallis and the Plains of Eidolon, they'll want to ensure they hit those numbers! 🙂

The best way to hit those numbers is to take Ivara (yes, the huntress). Her passive makes it easier to spot the animals. Overlap and extend that passive using Animal Instinct (or Primed version of it) on the sentinel that you equip, and Enemy Radar aura mod. After giving out the call, spawning animal follows 2 rules:

    1. They will come from the direction of their call.
    2. They will move toward the place where you call them.

Coming to capture, stay invisible, that allows you to try and get multiple shots on the animal, in case you miss a couple due to movement or terrains (for the damn birds Sawgaws and Mergoos AAARGGGH). With the extended enemy detection range, they will actually be detected much before on your mini map than on your tranq rifle. Now you are all setup to capture those beasts and send them to safety, so keep your face to the wind, ear to the ground, and stay warm. 😉

We need one more guy to help with the last step of the quest The New Strange.

Mate, this forum page is for helping out with builds, weapon selection, doubt clarifications etc., not recruiting members for specific missions. So please keep that in mind next time you post something here. If you wanted to ask what frames to take, or how to finish the last part, it could have been done here.

  14. I would say that a good gear setup would be Rhino, Silva and aegis, Lex Prime and Arca Plasmor. I prefer running Rhino with the augment for first ability, called Ironclad Charge. So, just go strength armor, a bit of efficiency and a bit of duration (this is selfish rhino build). Then use Rhino's 1 to ram into an enemy, activating the augment and then cast your 2, Iron Skin. (Iron Skin of 15-20k easy)

That would make you mostly invulnerable, and even able to last out 2 rounds of High index. (unless you are also an idiot like me who likes running Kuva Bramma there XD).

About weapons, go a Corrosive Blast combo on Arca plasmor (works best imo, if you cant kill them, knock them down till you can fire next shot, with corrosive decreasing the armor, be sure to reach 100% status chance).

Silva and Aegis for emergency case evades as it has high blocking efficiency, and Lex Prime for some quick shots to get out of trouble.
