  1. There doesn't really seem to be a design space for more Umbra. Mechanically there's no space. Excal Umbra was used to fill out the prime shaped hole in most players' roster. For the rest of the frames we just have primes. Design wise I'm not sure the concept is broad enough. Putting a scarf and loops on 50+ frames would quickly become boring and samey. Kind of the problem they had with primes and only using white/gold.
  2. Yup that is exactly what I do myself currently (as it's the most efficient). But that is why I said the change would be more thematic. If you want to become trusted to the highest level with a syndicate you have to actually run missions for them. Now this will not matter in the long run (where you'd most likely default to only running missions for two) but it does give a little flavor to start off with.
  3. So I’ve just watched Dev-shorts 3 and when Rebb announced the change to gaining ranks with the syndicates that was the first question that came to mind. Now I know that you’ve (DE) have probably already made the change and are just waiting to upload. And to be fair it doesn’t really affect me as it’s been a long time since I became allied to all of the syndicates, but might I offer an alternative solution? Rank 1: Resources Rank 2: Credits Rank 3: x tier 1 medallions Rank 4: y tier 2 medallions Rank 5: z tier 3 medallions See I always thought that you guys had a reason for insisting that it had to be prime parts (some sort of “tutorial” or incentive to learn to trade) but seeing as you went with Aya, something that doesn’t even need one to run a fissure I think one could do something more thematic. Right now one can become a close ally to any syndicate without ever “helping” them. Just be a friend of a friend and that is enough. Changing the sacrifice to a syndicate specific medallion means that one has at least run one mission (probably more depending on the value of z) for the syndicate you’re about to be allied to… just seems more fitting to me. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

  5. Well you did choose to go "remember the keys?" instead of “I’d like to have my choice of mission for fissures”. The player's “choice” in regards to the Void keys was severely limited. That was the point I was making. The “good old days” weren't that good if you ask me.
  6. Oh yes I remember the joy of getting to choose between the orokin tile set, the orokin tile set or the orokin tile set. God I still can’t play void defense without hating every single second. And sure I could farm with just one key for hours… unless the part I needed was in the f***ing sabotage mission. Nah give me the relics any old day. Also pretty sure the reactant “gimmick” is a flawed but, by DE deemed, necessary mechanic to stop AFK relic farming.

  8. It’s pretty clear that DE wants us to spend a bit of time fighting their bosses (The Sargent and Phorid notwithstanding). Classically DE have done this by giving their bosses brief periods of vulnerability and long periods of them being invulnerable (i.e Sargas Ruk) but lately they’ve tried to do damage attenuation instead. And maybe it’s just because I’ve spent way too much time the last few weeks pouring damage into a stone slab but I think I might prefer the more classical method. What about my fellow Tenno: Invulnerability or Damage Attenuation? And no, DE has made it pretty clear that you can’t chose “neither” 😝
  9. I’ll add two, one easy and one hard: 1: Add more maps to sanctuary onslaught. We got at least 3 new tilesets (Zariman, Duviri and Labs) and you could probably find something in Railjack as well 2: Let me buy Eidolon and Arbitration arcanes at Onko and Arbitrators. We can buy ourselves past the RNG on almost all other arcanes. You already have the shop and resources. You also have mechanics for time gating and spending limits if you’re afraid of players getting them too fast. So please? (and no I don’t think that the new dissolution mechanic is a good substitute).
  10. See that the thing. DE can do great story when it's onlyt the writers. But try and put it together with the rest of the game and it gets some what wonky and unfocused.
  11. I don't have a problem because I suddenly want stuff I can’t have. I’m running a few assassinations on SP each day solo. I got all the arcanes that I need from Scarlet spear and about a 100 tri-caps (More than enough to know I don’t want to do more). I’m farming the event so that I can have a rank 5 Arcane healing for completionist reasons. So no, the reason I give a “profanity” is in fact that the mode has changed. It comes down to how much more optimal and how much more rewarding the Steel Path is becoming. From the start I got more from SP than the regular versions. I got more regular drops (less important outside of a few farms), more mods (an ok bonus) and Steel essence. Then DE started to give me even more stuff for doing SP. First +20%, then +50% and now +100% of un-boostable drops in addition to Steel essence. And the last increase came at an event where I honestly can’t feel much of a difference between regular and Steel path versions. It takes me basically the same effort to get twice the rewards and that just seems wrong. So yes my question is a little faulty. I should probably have been “How do you feel about how much more optimal SP is becoming”, because it’s starting to screw over newer players who then feel a need to rush for SP because it is sooo much more efficient.

  13. It would also give you a reason to target some of them for farming. Right now it's more of a completionist checklist.
  14. It's prime mods you don't have to wait for basically. They cost a bit more but have a little gimmick attached. The gimmick is bad because not a lot of frames have abilities that qualify not because of the mechanics. Probably why you aren't showing Archon Vitality. All in all these are ok. They're not "warm coat" or "ammo drum" useless
  15. That is a valid way of thinking (and the industry standard), and I don’t disagree on principle. For me it has more to do with how this content is harder, what rewards you get, and how much more optimal it is. Killing an enemy with 200 hp is technically twice as hard as killing an enemy with 100 hp. But if my gun does 400 damage then in practice it’s exactly the same. Now how much reward should I get for killing the enemy with 200 hp as compared to the one with 100 hp? Twice as much? 20% more? The same because it was the same effort? Now Steel Path can require more skill and knowledge… but you can also just grab a relatively cheap prime warframe (Revenant,Octavia to name the most common), a powerful gun (Incarnon or Lich) and just get more rewards for doing basically the same as on the regular mission. So how much more should you be rewarded for this?
  16. Not all resources are the same. So let’s ignore you being bad faith and try to explain that; NO resources aren’t just resources and there are ifs,what’s and buts. If for some reason you need to be more efficient with gathering Nano-spores or Rubico, then sure Steel Path is a bit more efficient as you get a drop chance increase on those. If you have a rare mod that you’ve yet to be lucky to get from an enemy, Steel Path is a little bit more efficient. Most of those there are already boosters for and unless you’re farming the Hema research or the Sybear I don’t think you’re in much need of the boost. Void traces are not boosted by drop chance so there’s no reason to do relic missions in Steel Path outside of getting the Steel essence which was part of the initial deal. They are boosted by one of the paid boosters however. See how this resource is different? You’re not getting more medallions/ Void feathers / Voca faster from Steel Path. Not even the paid boosters help her (though they used to a long time ago.). See how this resource is different? My rotation A, B or C drop? Identical. Can’t influence what I get from this in any way. See how this resource is different? Crystal fragments and Grotesk splinters. I get more of those from Steel Path per run. Can’t even boost them with paid boosters. See how this resource is different? Now apparently in your haste to belittle me you fail to grasp a bit of this nuance. My problem was obviously with the last example. Now you might not think that there’s any problem with things being as they are, but then make that argument instead of being silly.
  17. MIne din't change either. But the orbiter mission window thing now has my clan status as Bronze so something did happen. To get gold you need to feed it 30 each week for 4 weeks.
  18. But then it kinda of becomes the Rich gets richer. I am the one who need stuff to grind for; not the new guys. So why am I the one on easy mode :)
  19. The way DE makes games does not lend itself to great storytelling. Let’s take the latest update as an example: The tilesets need to work both as quest locations and as generic procedural map pieces (Notice how the exit tile in the new set still has Loids coffin). This is efficient in terms of resources but it does speak to a game first story after. Sometimes we get bespoke stuff (Ballas throneroom comes to mind) but for the most part quests have to work with what the game gives it. See also how the new quest had us do a lot (all?) of the missions in the new area. Loid hangs a lampshade on it but why not get the family to help with all of this? I don’t know but my guess is that DE can’t/ won’t call in all that voice talent again. Think we’ll get to see a lot of the fish voiced by “VA of the year 2023” in the future? I don’t. And that is probably also why a lot of stuff is dangling. Can DE pull in the VA for Stell meridian so she can have an extra 2 lines about how nice it is to have another Grineer free Grineer? Perhaps but it doesn’t seem like they will. DE makes a game first and a story after. Now I’m not saying DE are bad for making the game with these priorities but it has made me have very low expectations as to where everything is heading. As an example of what DE can do when it's just the writers: TRANSCRIPTION OF UNAUTHORIZED BROADCAST This is sooo good. Why didn’t Nora voice it? Personally I gave up around the Sisters update. New war cemented my disintrest in the story as it is now. Would sill love to be proven wrong though.
  20. See I disagree with the additional challenges part. To me there's basically no difference between doing the event on Regular or on Steel Path. Yet one gives me twice the reward?
  21. See that's why I said "becoming". Angels: did the exact same thing. Voruna: solo SP-survival is hands down better than regular solo-survival so I’d done it without extra rewards. I disagree that the higher level survival had better drops. Once you’ve gotten Voruna and her weapons, that node is dead. Both of those cases SP was not particularly rewarding outside of SP-uniq stuff and I could pick and chose Citrine: I chose to do it on regular with Titania because increased SP-spawn rate meant that to defending and getting crystals I had to get a bit sweaty and 50% reward was not enough to make me give up on netflix :P This new event? But getting only half on a regular run compared to SP. That’s starting to hurt. Especially because it takes basically the same time and effort for me. I don’t need to do it. Like you I got all the arcanes I need from Scarlet. But I can imagine that for a newer player it hurts even worse because this is their chance and they only get the S#&$ty farm.
  22. No. I'd get shorter runs by optimizing my parkour when collecting eyes and perhaps a bit of role assignment in regards to who takes out the angel (But I only play solo so who knows). But those skills are already rewarded in regular play. You’re already getting more rewards by being skilled and doing the mission twice in the span of time it takes unskilled people to do it once. What Steel Path does is making sure you get even more rewards because you own more stuff.
  23. Taking my Revenant and pushing "2". Then pointing my Incarnon (I have several that'll do) and clicking the left mouse button until damage-attention allows the boss to die, does indeed display such a level of knowledge and skill that I should get twice the reward of the regular version.
  24. You see Steel path as a thing that requires skill ("being good enough") and not just a gear check?
