  1. The linking feature unfortunately overwrites accounts. If you made your “primary” account your PC account for instance, it would delete all items on the other accounts you are linking the PC account to. whatever account you set as the primary one will have priority over the other accounts. It’s essentially a copy/paste of your primary account over your other accounts but you’d be able to play the primary account on any platform you link with cross progression. it does overwrite purchases and exclusive content. If a founder with excal prime made a console account their “primary” one it would overwrite and delete excalibur prime on the PC account. This includes tennogen and prime access as well. the dev team is currently in discussion about how to compensate players for their losses. Also it is important to note that if you were to make a switch account the “primary” one, platinum purchased on the Nintendo switch can only be used while playing on the switch itself. It’s the only console with this restriction in place and is likely due to some policy Nintendo enacted. hopefully this info helps.
  2. Thank you guys, both the Community and Dev teams. I genuinely am grateful for your responses. I understand it isn’t an easy situation to manage logistically, and appreciate any effort given to understand our specific situations.
  3. If they aren’t going to do anything for any of us, I sincerely hope others look at this thread and take it as warning. The thing that always sticks in my mind was a dev stream a long while ago where DE Steve said something to the effect of “player accounts are sacred.” I always held on to that sentiment. Maybe that was never the case. It certainly doesn’t feel that way now. Everyone in this situation has been juggled between DE support and the forums with no actual support or clarification. support says “go to the forums.” community team on forums says “go to support.” devs stay silent. I won’t support ANY game/company that treats their dedicated players like this.
  4. The DE community and dev teams have obliterated my trust and their goodwill they built up over the past ten years. So much of crossave was revealed to us at the last possible moment, and it feels very intentional. The reason I loved the dev team was because of how transparent they were. Those days are gone I guess. It’s truly sad to see.
  5. Below this post is my other completely unrelated, un-migrated Xbox account for reference. This is the account I would be merging if I was allowed to do so.
  6. Thank you for responding. It is an incredibly frustrating situation that has frankly killed all enjoyment of the game for me personally. I have not played since learning of how restrictive this policy is. while I understand that allowing accounts that are derivative of each other a merge would clone items that were only acquired once technically, this is not the the issue. the issue is that the merge restriction is extended to the original account therefore barring ANY merge. I would like to merge my Xbox account with PC. (Migrated to switch, which is the duplicate account) these are both unrelated accounts that were started from scratch. I would also like to add that my credentials and user name on Xbox are literally the exact same as PC but they are completely separate accounts that are not involved with each other in any way. You can verify this by looking at them. I was led to believe that this was a situation in which a merge would be permitted until the policy on this was made public. Many of us would like an explanation for this, since it makes no logical sense. I can understand if it is a technical limitation, but that does not seem to be the case. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  7. I’m hoping too. This is one of the coldest and unforgiving policies I have ever seen DE put out. It’s blatantly anti-consumer. They have been much better in the past. Maybe it’s Nintendo, or even Tencent that is trying to enforce this policy I’m just going to keep speculating because they are obviously trying to keep quiet about this whole thing for a reason that nobody knows.
  8. No, and I doubt they will. It’s not a problem to them. That has been made abundantly clear to me.
  9. Yeah, I guess they figure they can cut their losses since the active player count is higher these days. for anyone at DE looking at this, this whole situation is worse than Scarlet Spear imo.
  10. It’s hard not to be angry when the devs wont talk to us. The only accounts that should be limited for a merge are the actual clone accounts, not the original. even if you delete your clone account it won’t let you merge. I’ve been playing warframe and watching the devs for a long time now. The writing is on the wall imo. They won’t budge on this. hope I’m wrong.
  11. Yeah, I also have this problem. Not looking too good so far, they have been silent for almost a month
  12. Genuinely curious, can you trade between those 3 accounts now that they’re cross save?
  13. This has also crossed my mind. I could absolutely see this happening at this point.
  14. I’m convinced that these bad policies are all in an attempt to keep people from duping items from cloned/migrated accounts. its not a good solution by any means, and it genuinely screws over a sizable chunk of players (myself included). I consider it a “scorched earth” tactic. They could fix this and make exceptions, but it will take more effort with no pay off for them. given how reluctant DE has been to give us concrete info on cross save, it ALMOST feels like they are purposefully being vague about the whole process. Most major features like this involve a DEV workshop of some kind. hope I’m wrong but that is honestly what it looks like from the outside looking in.
  15. You will not. Anything that is not the PRIMARY account when “linking” gets overwritten. The only way to combine is with a “merge”. If you don’t see the option, you aren’t allowed to merge. you could technically “link” each account to empty PC accounts to enable cross save for each account separately, but they will always remain separate. hope this helps.
