  1. I've also been looking for this mod. I haven't heard anybody comment on how it functions. Can you repeatedly use a locker to open it, or does it permalock when it fails? What is the rarity of this mod? I heard someone got it on Kiliken, but I've been on Kiliken all night and I haven't seen it.

  2. We had 190 online trying to get into the dojo to throw resources at it. Feels good man.

I had to leave before they added Invite Only mode, cause Goons kept joining my private games without asking. I might return at some point, depending on how this dojo business goes.

Also: 190 people, and their first room is barely complete. Seriously, that's ridiculous.

  3. So me and my buddy planned on making our dojo. I saw the costs. 120,000 Nano Spores for a hallway. I've played 160 Hours. I have every warframe except Vauban, and most of the weapons. I have 71,000 Nano Spores. He has 80,000. Between us, we can make a hallway from all of our countless hours of play.

If one chunk of hallway equals 250 hours of gameplay (rough math), then I'm not really feeling this whole dojo thing. That means that a clan that has 50 members would still take five hours of consistent play to make a hallway. That's just the nano spores, too.

I was in the Goons. One of the biggest online communities existent, and they rarely had 50 players online at any given time. The prices are too high. Period.

Keep in mind that these numbers are calculated with a "fresh start" in mind. All of these people that stockpiled the last month or two have an obvious speed advantage that will dissipate in time.

  4. I think this game is really good at it's lag compensation

From what I can tell there is no lag compensation. Everything is calculated client side. That is why they have such a zero tolerance policy for hacking programs.

That basically means that there is zero lag response time. Remote entities may take time to update, causing a jitter, but if you shoot something that's "lagging" on your screen, you WILL get credit for the hit, because it was calculated client side.

  5. I had an idea for it to even help DE with platinum purchases, and remove the need for another form of currency altogether.

Basically, make a new area in the interface next to the Foundry, called Research. One can select a Research Project as being "active", which would mean that it would actively receive Research Points from Alerts. As an Alert is completed, that Research Project would receive a certain number of points toward completion. A player would also have the option to spend 10 or 20 Platinum if they wish to reduce the number of points required by half.

This is a cleverly disguised new form of currency, but integrating this into the research system is a bit more elegant than collecting Orokin Waffles, so I'll back this up.

  6. I amended the original post to reflect the fact that acquiring items should not be easy. This isn't to make the items any easier to acquire, it's just to make acquisition a reliable affair that you can work towards with a light at the end of the tunnel.

Have any of you ever been swimming without goggles? I swim with my eyes closed, and flail about wildly in front of me hoping not to ram the side of the pool with my face. I can't see where it is. This is how the alert system is now. Wouldn't it be much nicer if the progress towards your reward was tangible and clear, like swimming with goggles?

  7. I like it the way it is. I don't want to have to farm for 9 hours a day to get a blue-print or rather bad artifact, thanks though.

The point is that you could choose how to invest your time played on things that are important to you. Alerts are random now, so right now, you RANDOMLY get "a blue-print or rather bad artifact". You could avoid those things with a system such as this.

  8. Okay so right now, the game is moving towards making everything harder to acquire, and a big part of that is the alert system. Developers, ponder the alert system for one moment.

1: Every time you add an item, the chances of getting any particular item drop. This means that the alert system has a built in expiration date. At some point it will be unsustainable, or unusable, with things being so rare that people simply won't care anymore.

2: Another big problem with it, that causes a significant amount of community outrage, is the random nature of it. I can't go take a shower and eat dinner without fear that I'm going to lose out on something.

There is a really simple way to solve both of these issues in one swoop. Make alerts drop tokens, or badges, or Orokin waffles. Just some new form of currency. These tokens will drop at the same frequency of the current ? alerts, and items will be available on the market that you can buy with them. The cost of the item in tokens could be directly proportional to the rarity you guys have it dropping at now.

I'd like to reiterate that point: things would not be easy to acquire by any means. This would not make it easy to play for free, as you are still a business after all. The Glaive for instance, might cost 15-20 of these tokens. This would just allow players to direct their play time more productively.

This solves both problems. It removes the RNG aspect, and allows players to actually earn what they want incrementally by actually participating in the game on their own schedules. It also allows you, as the developer, to add as many items as you want into the alert system without making older items harder to acquire. It removes the expiration date.

Just give it some consideration, because as it is, I'd like to see your server logs when a Glaive pops up just for the giant spike in player activity. Once they get the blueprint, they set it to build, and log off. These players are not actually playing the game, they're just waiting for random entropy to swing in their favor. You want them to play your game, right?

For some reason the alert sound for orokin is played instead of plasma sword:

It seems to be matching several filters at once. It matched three or four there, and of course, Orokin Reactor takes precedence over Plasma Sword.

  10. GamersFirst treats promising games like damp sponges, and wrings them dry before throwing them away. We really need some sort of confirmation that this is a fluke or something, because this is not something I would have backed up back when I became a founder.

    Not. At. All.

Up until this point, I've supported DE almost blindly in every one of their decisions. Please tell me this is a fluke.

  11. If he's using my configuration utility, and it sounds as if he might be, then I know why he isn't hearing sounds. Working on it.

Edit: Updated my sound pack configuration utility to work with priorities. Now it's less necessary to use it every version, just use it once right after downloading it to set up your preferences, after that you can use Okiesmokie's import options.

  12. Hello Okiesmokie;)

I will try to investigate a bit longer, but i do think the alerts sounds are not played if the app starts automatically with windows.

Seems to work fine if i relaunch alerter manually.

    i use Arsonide soundpack.

Also, the priority seems to act a bit weird, or i didnt completely understand how it's supposed to work ... i set credits alerts to lowest priorities (-1 -2 -3) and the last 2 alerts, that are "low credits" play blueprint and orokin reactor sound.

Will do some tests too, and report back later ;)

Sorry, I still haven't posted the configuration files, I will shortly.

Suggestion: Can the app be set up to reconnect to twitter if disconnected?

It already does this, I believe.

  13. My buddy thinks Moapocalypse was "fudged", for lack of a better word. Did any fudging occur? (Increasing spawn rates, or bumping up the number of MOAs killed, or lowering the number we needed to kill, etc.)

Is there any plans to reduce screen shake on the Glaive? It has no distance falloff on the shake effect. I can shake my friend's screen across a map. More importantly, is there plans to decrease screen shake for non-shakers across the board as a visual option?

Assuming there is going to be some form of clan competition, are there any plans to allow smaller clans of a few friends to compete (matched against other smaller clans), or is this something only giant megalithic clans are going to be able to participate in?

Using clan mechanics of some kind, will it be possible to share resources and items with other clanmates?

When will nervos be added back in? I liked the idea of them, because it made seekers a unit to be feared. Completely ripping the player's control away is a no-no in every game mechanic bible, but perhaps a large debuff would work.

I was wondering how big your team is, it's vague, because of how personable you guys are with the community, it's implied that you are a small team, but you have an office with a cafeteria, which implies otherwise.

Will Prime frames and weaponry come with their own inventory slots?

Optional higher difficulty would be a nice addition to the game. Diablo 3 has an option like this in the staging screen - to ramp up the levels of mobs in game with better drops as rewards. Clearly as Endless Defense shows, this is posisble. Has any thought been given to this?
