  1. I made no specific claim about teh accuracy of teh specific survey, only that the science on data we have now shows that with a large population, only around 1000 responses are needed to get decently accurate data on a topic. If you want to learn the science, you are welcome to take the time to do so, I have no desire to coddle the close minded.
  2. Pretty obvious you have no idea how the basics of statistics and surveys work. For Warframe, about 1000 samples is all you need for most anything. Do even basic research and you will see how far off base you really are... Too funny.
  3. *you're" No one really cares if people bragging about getting a better deal bothers you, anymore than you care about them bragging about it in the first place, even though you cared enough to make a rant, just as I cared enough to make a rant about your rant. Gamers be silly with these "don't do that anymore" demands. Some people simply cannot abide that there are those who will not Obey their little house rules I guess. Why do you think you have some right to force your world view on others? So silly.
  4. So, yet again, you just don't like my prose. How tragic. The whole point of replying was, and still is, an attempt for you to explain what means, other than a meme-based diss on me not being one of the 'cool kids'. It's just silly in my opinion for you to think the quoted post is anything other than a trolling insult. I am not special, I have never thought of myself as special, I am just another gamer, nothing to let go. I am generally average in pretty much all ways. It's great, as most all car seats fit me well. Just another gamer with opinions. I was not and did not crap on anyone with my post in this thread, that's in your head, beyond making a joke about teenagers thinking they invented sex, if one is sensitive to such humor. I directly conveyed that is it very amusing and interesting to see the same topics occur over time and people treating them as if they are new topics, added to my enjoyment of gamers learning how the world works. no 'crapping on' intended. Are you not here for discussion? If I do not respond to you, there is no discussion. I stated my point of view on topics like this that reoccur and seem 'new' to many gamers for discussion, you choose to insult me and then try and say I am the troll...it's really funny but still kind of sad. So, to conclude. I get it. You just want me to follow your world view when posting or stop posting. Neither is going to happen. Happy Gaming!
  5. So, you have no explanation, just more vague innuendo you think makes you look like you 'win'. Too funny. It's obvious you simply don't like the style and content of my prose, oh well, these things happen, so sorry to trigger you. Again, if you can think of a way to retcon/spin into something other than an obvious 'old boomer' dig, I'll be happy to read it. If you are trying to imply 'out of touch' over 'old', then it's really just a passive aggressive version of the same thing, you are trying to diss me for not being 'cool'. I am well aware your goal at this point is to troll me to respond so you can feel better about yourself, it's OK. You are enough. I am here for you. What can I do to make you feel better?
  6. Then by all means enlighten me as to what your prose implies, if not a passive-aggressive 'old boomer' insult. Happy to see you clarify, always happy to understand someone when I have mis-understood, so please, explain to this poor old man what means, if not an attempt to insult me for not being one of the cool kids? Happy to admit I got it wrong if you can explain what it might mean...
  7. So because I think it's interesting and amusing to see gamers mature and the extrovert-ambivert-introvert scale of human nature repeat itself in video game settings, and I choose to avoid the drama of PuGs, you think passively aggressively calling me an 'old boomer' makes some kind of 'points' with your cohort? It's hilarious that people think calling someone like me old is taken as an insult. On the contrary, it just shows me how successful I am at life (and how others envy that success). Ageism from the young is truly funny to me, when they use all the tools and infrastructure people like me built for them in the first place to sling the insults. Who do you think built the internet for you? Perhaps one day you will create of original insults and think for yourself, not just use what others have shown you in memes. Good Luck!
  8. It's always amusing to see gamers think the things that are inherent to gaming and have been since gaming began are 'brand new' simply because they just discovered them. Kind of like teenagers always seem to think they invented sex. Perhaps the most wise quote in the thread. It's always fun to watch people that seem to have this idea that anyone that plays a game will play that game the way they do, when they learn other people play differently. It's especially fun and inspiring to watch someone mature past thinking they have to play a game the way everyone else does, and/or learn that just because a loud portion of the player base demands a certain playstyle, there is no reason one has to 'obey'. I don't see the point in spending my time with a bunch of random people I don't know, much less listen to their lives and for mom to yell at them to take out the trash. I realize that many people think playing with other humans is the fun part, but I am not an extrovert. Extroverts cannot seem to fathom fun without other people. So, like with so many things in life, it all boils down to where you are on the introvert-ambivert-extrovert rainbow, in my experience.
  9. My life is great, thanks! About to move and no longer have a mortgage! I hope your life is awesome! Whatever. That's cool.
  10. Thank you so much for your kind words. Always nice to get a compliment! It's nice to know we feel the same way about each other's prose, good to be on the same page! I recently found a couple quotes that really drive home my approach to this forum and many of it's regulars...and it goes both ways it seems! "Don't take criticism from people you wouldn't ask for advice." "Don't let someone else's bad opinion of you become your own opinion of you." "Don't risk your mental health out of sheer politeness." This sums up how I think about most of the gamers that inhabit this forum and how many of them see me. It's good to accept reality! Happy Monday!
  11. TIL about Norepinephrine. This has nothing to do with misogyny or misandry, it has everything to do with hateful gamers, gender is irrelevant to my point. So, the correct statement I should be making is: "There are so many Norepinephrine based gamers that live for hating on games and new games they can use to leverage that hate are candy to them." as Norepinephrine is the chemical responsible for fear and anger, not testosterone. Always nice to learn a new thing, always good to further understand ones enemies.
  12. Seriously, you don't think this will ever stop, do you? There are so many testosterone based gamers that live for hating on games and new games they can use to leverage that hate are candy to them. People love to tear down anything successful to make themselves feel better about their own crappy lives. My favorite prose about this: Doc : [after hearing several of the townsfolk openly disparage George in the Bar] Why do ya have to tear him down? What are ya so afraid of? What have you got to lose? He wasn't selling anything! He didn't want anything from anybody! He wanted nothing from nobody! Nothing! And you people have to tear him down so you can sleep better tonight! So ya can prove that the world is flat and ya can sleep better tonight! Am I right? Am I right?... I'm right... The Hell with all of ya. The Hell with everyone of ya.
  13. "I asked them a simple question?" But, you didn't. You desire it to be simple, you want it to be simple, but it's not. Why? Because lawyers, bad actors and real money are involved. You don't have to like it, heck, you don't even have to 'accept' it, you can deny reality all day long, it's your brain. But the reality is that this is not a simple thing for DE to handle, for many of the reasons you have already been given like the fact if they make 'hard' rules the rules-lawyers jump in and ruin things, for example, coupled with the fact DE is a company and has to abide by laws and regulations around how real money is transferred in the real world, even if you think it's "a simple question". You're premise is flawed, your attitude appears to be that you are entitled to information to which you are not, and that you are some kind of martyr for trying to help the community. You obviously have a chip on your shoulder toward DE and anyone who will not do your bidding, which is really funny as well, since you are trying to call out others for being sophomoric, when you are the one acting like an inexperienced, entitled player. All in all, I got a couple laughs, thanks. Happy Gaming!
  14. Schadenfreude. The tears of the players who claim playing the way I do - solo, for fun, with no FOMO and no hate for DE or programmatic bugs - are my favorite collection. I have had people tell me I should get cancer, that "there is no way someone can play games as laid back as you claim" ... all kinds of things, really. So, for me, the best collection around WF I have is the hate I have garnered for just having fun in a video game others take too seriously and think they have to convince the world about it, simply because Weapon A does .1% more damage than Weapon B in some situation for some players, etc. Schadenfreude over others kvetching about in-game minutiae is delicious. Happy Gaming!
  15. 18 pages? My fellow Tenno, I have watched game forums and BBS forums before them for a couple decades+ now argue this very topic in circles. There are simply members of the gaming community that cannot comprehend they are not being persecuted when others will not obey their house rules. Thousands and thousands of 'pages' of typically 2-5 people who simply cannot comprehend that game companies and matchmaking filters are not intended to create a nanny-state that solves their personal issues with how other members of the gaming community play games. These same endless-ouroboros-like fights over 'players should play my way, the game makers should force them to, OP/Speed runners ruin everything vs. Slow Down for the rest of us, etc.' has been prominent on any game discussion forum that has matchmaking, literally since we could fight about it, in game stores even before we had the Internet to use to fight about it. This is a truly endless hamster-wheel argument, simply because no game maker can change the human condition. But, never-the-less, it's hilarious to watch! Some people paint themselves mentally onto the intractable hills and just refuse to die on them, and they provide much schadenfreude.
  16. To me, it's more like it always is - a bunch of gamers trying so very hard to act like the teenager who has smoked pot one more time than the teenager they are speaking to about it, and longs to be seen as some sort of expert over something that is all just opinions and a lack of emotional maturity to understand and empathize with the simple fact not everyone is going to play a game by your 'rules'. This game and this forum seem to be the literal 'poster-child' for this over-aggressive idea that 'all' players have to follow some kind of 'unwritten rules' to appease the 'better gamers'. We just had another thread go by about vote-kicking as well. It remains hilarious and amusing, and sad, so many people simply cannot abide seeing other people not follow their little "house rules". But, it's the world we live in, no one gives these people with too much aggression the tools to deal with it in a healthy manner, so they PvP on Internet forums...
  17. Just because you are incapable of seeing a reason because of your insistence on vilifying a company for making money does not, in fact, mean there is no other reason, only that you are underinformed and lack imagination to come up with any. Just another false-equivalence-strawman argument. Too funny.
  18. So you are just willfully ignorant of the actual issue. Got it. Glad you enjoy being a jerk, I guess? Or just enjoying your narcissistic need to feel superior, I guess? I am so glad I will never have to play a game, eat a meal, or even share the same room with you, virtual or otherwise. The willfully ignorant are literally some the very worst of humanity.
  19. Hi I am a MR17 player and I think you are full of crap. Just because you have played a game for more time does not mean you get special treatment. Why should you get anything just because you played a video game a lot? You do not get to define what is normal, you are not King. Elitist and entitled BS.
  20. To all of you that think simply because the game gave a warning that this design is 'valid and good', you don't understand the problem, or you are willfully promoting a ableism, or you are just jerks, take your pick. This inability of being able to drop out of the New War bit is the worst design choice the game maker has ever made, regardless of the monetary numbers remaining stable, the overall churn, etc. with the decision seemingly not impacting the bottom line, due to new-player adoption rates. I even took the time to go back and finish it, with virtually no real playtime since, because it shows me just how bad the game maker can be, but also shows me just how intolerant and ignorant the player base is generally and that the game maker supports this POV. All of the humans with reflexes and time are literally seemingly incapable of even understanding not everyone on the planet is like them, yeah this is a typical human failing, but it's been exaggerated here tenfold with the New War. You can talk about how cool and powerful you are until the heat death of the universe because you can complete the scenario and anyone 'worthy' could as well, and you will still not understand, because you choose to be a jerk. I have hundreds of dollars spent on WF and I enjoyed my time playing, still even want to play a mission now and then, but I have some level of self esteem left and I refuse to give them any more of my money until they change this stupid design. So, to all of the ableists that think 'everyone should just...', go jump. Really, you are being royal jerks and sadly many of you know it, you just like to feel superior over your in-game reflexes. To the developers that implemented this terrible design, please learn from your mistake and fix the worst one you ever made, unless you enjoy creating a player base of ableist jerks, because that's what you have done.
  21. Welcome to Earth, 2023. At this point the entire world is more polarized, more intolerant and therefore more impatient than it has been in a long time. All of the people who watch this sort of thing agree. Psychiatrists are publishing articles to let people know everyone is on edge more than normal. etc. and to understand it. It's not just WF, it's our entire species right now. Humans are rapidly losing anything resembling patience and understanding. So no, it's not DE's fault for the minutiae of the way the game has changed, our entire world is a pile of impatient, underinformed and aggressively polarized people right now, many of whom have no emotional tools to even deal with playing video games for fun. Happy Holidays!
  22. No, because it is a video game for occasional entertainment, not a place to move in and live as if it's real.
  23. Correction, you want information. DE does not need to do any such thing, you are just impatient to get information you crave, nothing more. Look, you can moan all you like, until the heat death of the universe about being a customer and therefore entitled to information, but you are simply wrong. It sounds to me as if you have a lot of learning to do about life. Good Luck.
