I think the playerbase needs to be weaned off snowglobe reliance for defense missions, and that defense missions should not be balanced around spamming powers to keep the pod alive. Adding more "snowglobe alternatives" would be a step in the wrong direction and ultimately a bandaid for the powerspam problem.
More strategic powers isnt bad, nor increases power-creep.
We actually need more strategic abilities, then more frames that are based on dealing damage, and frames based on buffing and debuffing (which isn't even fun to play with those, nor original).
But yah, it would be great to get rid of the snow globe reliance, it becomes mandatory for most ppl to have a frost in the squad, and its demeaning for frost which becomes his only job, and the only time/place he is ever used.

No, the devs are going to do that.
Sadly allot of players are still having a bad reaction to this, but that only cause they haven't understood how meaningful it will be, nor they can comprehend the concept of not modding for damage.
Even with the future reworks DE promises, I'm still sad they haven't recognized the frame mods have the same problems as the weapon mods.
And since they do not state or talk about it, the future mod system rework will be limited to weapons only, sad.

Use a shadow necros and tank enemys nearly as effective. Valid alternative :P
That is a very very bad example, in fact not using shadows is 100 times better then using them.
Its not a valid alternative at all, would prefer anytime terrify then shadows.
The majority of times I see players cast that ultimate the situation becomes worse then it already was, that ability is a mess and prejudicial to the squad.
Having more npc allies only creates more mess and confusion, you cant see the enemy, you cant see ur tenno friends, u can see the pod.
I've witness that ability ruin so many missions, and not only defense, but survival, the appearance of sudden death squads or stalker or g3, it all ended in death for all the team or mission fail.

unnecessary punishments that isnt fun or enjoyable, even more cause we didn't triggered it and knew the risks, he comes at random, and rewards very little, so no, dont need the stalker to delete my account, or him to remove 100plat from my inventory, nor him to curse me in real life.
and as far as punishments the zanuka bonus lvl is the only balanced and wise one.
besides the fact that zanuka only kills 2 or 3 players per year, since she is so weak, the same can not be said about the stalker or g3.

Dont get this tread at all, even if u have a point, which u didnt written, makes no sense to compare those, since one isnt prime, and the other isnt even available in market, and so many other details.
Nor its our business to talk or speculate about how DE prices their products.
There is a limit of what we can criticize or ask the dev's to change, and how much a PA costs or much stuff costs on the market, isnt for us to meddle.

Yah, makes sense, frost as been stuck on the role of pod defender for ages.
In the essence of the thing, snow globe is as much of a problem as mesa or greedy mag was, not as obvious nor as damaging, yet still, it arrests frost on that niche.
Maybe frost should be changed, so he isnt limited to be the obvious choice for def, nor the constant requirement.
But thrutfully, you idea is much more healthy, other frames and other abilities that can provide the same kind of strategy and usefulness.
I always loved loki with a good ranged radial disarm, he becomes a good substitute for a frost, but more frames need that role.

Yah, the player base demanding to have rhino prime covered in gold just cause he is prime was stupid, the ability is iron skin anyway.
One way or another, both regular and prime rhino could use a redesign on the iron skin, in the past it used to be more subtle and prettier, when it was just a few spikes and spots of iron that defined that ability.

I agree Awing is bad, and it does need real improvements, and not insignificant improvements like those seen on u17.5.
And having few ppl playing it isn't a problem, its a hint that a problem exists.
It's the lack of reward, the lack of fun/joy, the lack of proper features or systems for navigate, seeing the enemies, catching loot etc, those are what make ppl never play it.

No not really, that is the mainstream design for games, make stuff look cool and sick, warframe is unique on having some very strange and out of the box designs.
Some are so original and so out there, they are even ugly, but that's what u get when ur creative, u test and fail, and try again.
Those designs in that picture, are the classical eye candy designs of the flavor of the month games.

First remove resources from prizes
Then remove forma from rotation C endless stuff.
Then yah, remove all cores from all prize tables.
Void is for primes, not cores.
Let the derelicts stay with keys and cores.

I'm just disappointed it might be limited to melee mode, after so much time of waiting for their return, and its not worth it.

You do realize that both Awing and kubrows that are very despised by allot of ppl, are 2 of the worst and less rewarding features, with also the worse RNG instances.
I will play and enjoy Awing, when it is developed as an extra mission, as a bonus level, one we can enjoy and play, and does not have the ridiculous grinds as the rest of the game.

That ability and most of his other are all weak on purpose, because he haves a huge armor and no knock downs, so they made his abilities less CC, less powerful, less all round useful.
Doesn't mean your point is wrong or bad though.

When will primes and regular frames have unique purposes, different roles, different uses and strategies?
This, because primes are superiors, making the regular frames obsolete, and not worth to keep or use.

These ppl don't enjoy the game, they just mindlessly grind trough it.
Just say you dont do exploit camps, or avoid these groups when they say they are camping, there's not much to do.
Next time you might just ignore them all (the chat feature) and go trough your playing time.

Sometimes its best not to mess with existent things, look at Awing, the glorious "improvement" is such a scam it is almost useless, it sucks so slow you have to almost stop for it to work.
Global or default vacuum might be like that, and that would be bad.
But yah i agree with you.
As for helios, I don't get why ppl like it, scans don't get you materials for building new gear, scans don't acquire or grab mods you need to be meta, scans don't find rare resources or rare mods you may have overlooked, scanning is so pointless idk why ppl bother to complete that useless codex which has no purpose.
