  1. He’s a bit too spammy for Simaris’ tastes though, especially if you slot in some casting speed, which is generally a very good idea on dear Dante.
  2. I would just go into operator mode, toggle crouch, and then alt+tab to read the news or something. It's not like the boss fight lets you engage with it meaningfully during this time anyway. In any event, I'm glad that rewards will be preserved. Before, the Circuit penalized you for pushing your builds and decrees as far as they could go. Now it doesn't. That's a good change. If someone is opposed to this change, they can always delete the items they earned "unfairly" from their inventory by selling them for credits.
  3. As we get more and more ways to generate overguard, I think this is something DE should consider. As it stands, Rage and Hunter's Adrenaline are now incredibly devalued. If you play on public it's a gamble if the mods will ever function. Vex Armor as an ability is similarly a gamble. DE has given players too many ways to accidentally invalidate each other's builds. There is also the matter of unwanted crit buffs from outside sources wrecking Devouring Attrition, to say nothing of unwanted speed boosts messing with those impact-to-slash mods and, to a slightly different degree, ammo economy.
  4. I tried it out yesterday and came to the same conclusion. It’s powerful, but it’s also… sad? I don’t love k drives indoors, but I would like this mod a bit more if there were a toggle function. If I’m in a survival and the group moves to a large, open tile, then yeah, I would want to be on board sometimes.
  5. For me, a big reason why I'm thankful for this change is that Kahl content doesn't connect with our arsenals. I don't get to trot out my latest favorite weapon or frame when playing Kahl content. The variety that the arsenal contains helps keep the game fresh. Furthermore, there are a wider range of missions on offer through Sanctum Anatomica than Kahl has. The variety of our arsenals and the broader range of content helps me feel empowered as a player to choose what I want to engage with. Choice also comes into play. Kahl offers no meaningful weapon choices apart from some random ones on 2/3 of his missions. He also offers no choice in terms of mission type. If you hate Sneaky Sabotage, tough. You had* to do it if you wanted the shard and you wanted the mission to rotate. Now, if I find Alchemy and Mirror Defense really awful to play, I can just do the mission modes that I like. It's a massive improvement. *It feels soooooo good to talk about Kahl in the past tense. Bye, Kahl! You and your shallow, tedious chores won't be missed!
  6. I feel like we both know the best they'll do is an armor strip augment for her 1 or 2 at this point. And honestly, I probably wouldn't waste a slot on it. It's easier to give up a slot for Pillage, and Pillage covers every weakness she has. She's starved for mod space.
  7. Thank you for moving Chipper’s shard. Base shards continue to be a desirable reward, even more so now with ascent fusion, so I am overjoyed that I no longer have to engage with tedious, narrow Kahl content to get my shards. Kahl functions best as a one off quest. Although he still has uses as a repeatable plat grind (trading archon mods to other players), it is for the best that his grind now has an endpoint. Not all content has the chops and variation needed to sustain repeat engagement. Again, thank you, DE. This update has a ton of player-friendly additions, but the moving of the shard is my absolute favorite.
  8. Shards exist for this reason, among others. You could also just mod for it, given that all Dante seems to need is power strength and some range. It’s not like investing in survivability mods is really necessary on him. lol
  9. I don’t think that’s ever been a consideration for DE in balancing frames. Look at Gyre. You get her from the Zariman, yet her abilities can’t really nuke there unless you massively supplement her with the Helminth. You can get Volt and Mag in the first seconds of the game, yet they have builds that remain relevant (and even meta defining) well into end game and endurance content. As far as Dante goes, he seems like he can effortlessly nuke lower level enemies in a wide area while also easily stacking team overguard into the tens of thousands. I’ve only used him in SO and ESO, so I’ll wait to form an opinion until I’ve tried him elsewhere. That said, at the moment, he seems a little jacked. He is somewhat hindered by casting speed, but shards easily fix that.
  10. It kind of seems like you spend 2 pulses to get access to Deep Archimedea that week. Then you can run it as many times as you like, but I think you only earn the reward once per week. That's my current guess based on the information I've read in this thread and elsewhere. If I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me.
  11. We're about due for another "reduced ally VFX" pass from DE. Qorvex could use some visual reductions too.
  12. It’s horrifying, and I, for one, am here for it.
  13. I imagine that many of the people who were most passionate about the incarnons on offer in SP Circuit have long since acquired them. As a result, your best bet is to engage with recruit chat (shudder) in the hopes of finding likeminded individuals. I know that's not much help, but it might be the best you can do for now. In such unstable content, keep a wary eye on the host, and keep your finger hovering over the "extract" button. If the host leaves, you should also leave. There's no guarantee your progress will be saved.
  14. Try running Mot again, without any fissures or other special missions (syndicate, steel path, etc.) active.
  15. I came here to be grouchy and say something along the lines of "we don't need more power creep," but I thought about it, and I think you might have a point. I make use of very, very few aura mods: Brief Respite Corrosive Projection Growing Power Steel Charge Combat Discipline Energy Siphon*. I wouldn't be opposed to some changes to the underused aura mods so they actually seem remotely tempting to use. *I'm aware that people regard it as terrible, but it makes sense in my Mag build.
  16. And his greatest strength remains, rework, touchup, or nothing:
  17. This is a bit too narrow. Affinity and enemy drops are also affected. So if you’re trying to rank up something in ESO, a swirly console host logo is an absolute buzzkill. Or if you’re a newer player farming resources (or a veteran farming the latest content island’s resources), console hosts mean you’re in for a longer grind.
  18. I was going to say something along these lines. Thank you for beating me to it. DE needs to iterate upon crossplay further. I should be able to specify that I only want to play with a PC host. If that has to be me, great! That's fantastic. And yes, we can turn off crossplay to prevent running into these issues, but then we also no longer run into other players. You only match with people who also have crossplay off, which is basically no one. That's not a good enough solution. DE, please give us more nuanced options for crossplay. Let us prefer/require PC hosts. Let us force hosting ourselves. Let us match with other PC players who have crossplay on while still having crossplay off ourselves if such a thing is possible.
  19. I have a feeling DE will introduce a juicy new (power creep) legendary arcane or two if they aren’t seeing the engagement they want in this challenge mode. As it stands, if the only reason to engage with the max tier of difficulty here is for a legendary arcane, I don’t see myself doing that. I prefer the shards, and if maxing out my “research points” or whatever means an arcane instead of a shard*, I won’t bother. The legendary melee arcanes are way too niche for that. I also think DE might be kicking themselves for making Melee Influence a gold and not a legendary. *If I’m wrong on this, and max difficulty means an arcane PLUS a normal reward (shard, adapter, etc.), then please correct me. I haven’t been able to find the answer to this in any devstream recaps.
  20. I completely agree... in this archived post from the start of 2022. Alas, nothing has changed. There's no real recourse besides memorizing each node. I know now that Valac, Europa is a spy. I have to look up the Mercury one each time though.
  21. There might not be a lore reason (or there might, I really am not that invested in the story for this game), but there are certainly gameplay reasons. So I won't argue that the decision to move the shards is completely lore-friendly, but I also don't really care. The shards are the new hotness. The shards are the rewards I want. And next week they will no longer be locked behind content that I find reprehensible. I'm elated.
  22. This is indicative of a larger problem than Revenant. If DE is going to keep buffs and systems in the game that derive benefits from normally harmful things (taking damage, not getting a critical hit, etc.), then they should give us ways to make sure that other players can't prevent that. I don't see this ever happening, but one possible solution would be mod variants that prevent those outside effects, like an alternate version of Rage/Hunter's Adrenaline that makes you immune to Overguard from outside sources and Mesmer Shield. Maybe it would be easier to make losing a stack of Mesmer Shield count as "health damage" for certain effects. Same with Overguard. I doubt it though. I imagine that this is another example of convoluted systems begetting and influencing convoluted systems over the course of years of development. Not to be pessimistic, but I don't see this ever getting addressed. Like can you imagine how absurd of an options menu they'd have to add for buff toggles (something that I see requested fairly frequently here)? The game is just too big and bloated at this point. And even if they did implement something of the sort, I can't even fathom how bugged it would be, or what other problems it would lead to.
  23. I can't pretend that I love the non-frame content, but I will say that I'm pretty sure Teshin has some sort of glaive toss thing where he can pull himself to the glaive. It's been a long time since I did that quest though, so I may be misremembering it. In any event, no, I won't be replaying it. The insta-fail stealth sections are not my idea of a good time. Here's a reddit post that might help you.
  24. It’s not the difficulty and it never has been. It’s the tedium. There isn’t any meaningful variation, and our vast and diverse arsenals don’t come into play, so it gets stale very fast. Most enemies can be ignored. HP regenerates faster than most enemies can harm you. Before the QOL updates, the only challenge in the various “challenges” was getting lucky with the egg hunt spawns. Even the insta-fail stealth portions only require a small degree of memorization… less now that we have enemy radar. Archon shards are still the new hotness, and are about to be in greater demand than ever with the ability to combine them to form tauforged. I’m glad DE seems to be carefully considering what content they want to lock them behind. They have to be careful not to burn people out on a particularly boring and vapid treadmill like Kahl. Obviously we don’t know the exact cost in Cavia standing, so I’ll withhold judgment until we do. But I’m overjoyed that Kahl will now be a grind with an endpoint. And for those who truly enjoy him, they can play him for fun and profit by selling archon mods.
  25. Excellent suggestion. This would also help counteract DE's bad design habit of making NPC's bark and chatter even while the demolyst is approaching, further obscuring the audio cues.
