  1. So these are more tips than rules (I don't want you to think I am bossing you around) but i think players new to using the recruiting channel in game will find this helpful. What is Recruiting? Recruiting means to look for a squad to do missions or to find a clan. There is a separate tab to the right of the region and clan chat tabs. Attempting to recruit in the region chat may get you kicked from the channel, but will definitely upset players trying to engage in other conversation. Useful Acronyms: LF = Looking For. Use this if you want to join someone else's game. Example: "LF any void mission" LFM = Looking for more. Use this if you are hosting a game and looking for others to join you. You may also include a number before the "m" to indicate how many you are looking for. example: "LF2M T1 cap" T1 = Tower one void missions. In order to host these games you must have the correct key marked with the word "tower" with NO NUMBER next to it. These are the easiest void missions. T2 = Tower two void missions. In order to host these games you must have the correct key marked with the word "tower" AND the roman numeral for two: II.These are intermediate difficulty. T3 = Tower three void missions. In order to host these games you must have the correct key marked with the word "tower" AND the roman numeral for three: III.These are the most difficult void missions. OD = Orokin Derelict. These mission pit you against infested enemies on a derelict orokin ship. This is a good place to find golem navs and mutegen samples. To host these games you must construct keys from navs. Trading = an agreement where one player hosts one tower or OD mission in exchange for the other player being invited hosting game right after (or right before) of another type of OD or tower mission. Example: "Trading T1 cap for T1 ex" [Thanks to darzk for the suggestion] Mission type A = Assassinate. This only occurs in OD so its designated as ODA usually. This pits you against an infested boss where you can attain nekros frame blueprints. Players who wish to host these games must construct a key from golem navs. D = Defense. Both void and OD missions. MD = Mobile Defense. This is void only C = Capture (sometimes designated "cap") This is both OD and void. S = Survival (sometimes designated "surv.") This is both OD and void. E = Exterminate (sometimes designated "EX") this is both OD and void. How to use acronyms (indicate hosting or looking for game) + (the place(s) you want to go) + (the type of mission) Examples: Hosting T3 defense LFM T2 MD LF T1C TIPS ON ETIQUETTE +If you are hosting a game and looking for others it maye be helpful to ask them to whisper you for an invite. This helps distinguish who is talking specifically to you and will lessen the chance of you missing a request if the recruiting channel is very busy +To whisper someone simply type: /w [insert name here without the brackets] +To invite someone simply type: /invite [insert name here without the brackets] Do not confuse this with the /i command which is used to ignore a player. +It is polite and customary to thank someone for inviting you either right after being invited or at the end of the match (and preferably both) +Be nice and friendly in general. nice people are more likely to be reinvited, added to friends and invited to guilds. +When whispering someone for an invite give them at least a full minute to respond. they may be inundated with requests for invites or busy typing people's names. +Try not to get offended when you are not invited. If they respond to you and say they are full, its polite to say "no problem, good luck". also try not to get upset if they don't message you. they may have got upwards of twenty requests and it would be impossible to respond to them all. +As a host, when inviting others, give them a full minute to respond to your invite before moving on to inviting someone in their place. They may be in another screen finishing up a loadout and haven't seen your invite. You may ask them in a whisper at any point if they received your invite. +If there is a connection problem, try not to argue about it. Most likely the problem will not be resolved through talking. just give up on that host or request and move on to the next person/host. +As a host once your squad is full do two things: 1- tell the recruitment channel that your group is full. I usually say "Full thanks!" and 2-ask your squad (in the squad tab) if they are ready to start. If there is no response after 30 seconds go ahead and start the match. +Try not to spam the channel. posting once every minute or every other minute should be enough to get others to notice you. +If you don't get a response right away don't give up! Sometimes it takes a long time to find what you are looking for but most of the time you will fill your squad or get your invite within five minutes. +If you are having trouble finding others try to really sell that your game is the best. If its an OD mission, remind them that there's mutegem to farm there. If you are doing a speed capture, or 5 minute survival tell them that and how easy it will be. also try being silly and fun: "looking for cool people to join me for an ODA run, message me if you think you are cool enough for an invite" +If you are hosting a survival make sure to inform your squad how long you intend on going preferably before you go into the match or at the very beginning of the match. +Keep all general discussion in the region chat. That's what its for! +Try to avoid typing in all caps. For many its irritating to read and sounds like you are yelling. Be polite and persistent and people will see your message. +Try to keep request to join groups to a minimum. Spamming, begging or demanding will just get on players nerves and won't get you invited any sooner. Try to wait and read through a few minutes of chat first to see if anyone is hosting what you are looking for. When you do make a request keep it brief and polite. Also keep in mind that the more specific your request is the less likely there will be someone able to invite you. [Thanks to TemetNosce for this tip!] +Be sure to use clear communication in easy to understand English, with as few typos, spelling errors and grammatical errors as possible. If people can't understand what you are saying, they are not likely to respond to you. [Thanks to letter13 for this tip] +If the host indicates a plan at the beginning of the mission, follow the plan. Deviating from that plan will upset the host and possibly other players which may cause them to leave the mission or simply never invite you again. [Thanks to letter13 for this tip] +After whispering someone, your next message will be sent by default to the person you whispered. In order to talk in recruiting chat again you have to switch to a different channel and back, or simply hit the recruiting tab again. The /r replies to the last person who sent you a whisper. [Thanks to darzk for this tip] Well that's all I can think of for now. If there's any corrections, amendments, subtractions, or additions please feel free to share them in this thread. I want this FAQ to be as thorough as possible. '
