I have Volt, Frost and Nyx. No prime weapon / frame, neither syndicate stuff ... I'm a beginner 🙂 And I bet to use those I need higher ranks (I'm 6).

Ctr + space is associated to the mouse button at my thumb ... When I have to go fast I use almost exclusively this. Fact is the hostage dies even before deciding to follow me.

I do not have energy usually because I used skills already before. This would not change regardless of the frame I use. (For example, the sphere with frost to protect myself while reviving the hostage, then I die, then the hostage dies in the time I revive). I do not have operator. I do not have Assimilate augment (nor any specific frame augment). I do have energy restore but I bet by the time I have enough to cas high level skills I would be dead as well, and the hostage certainly before that. I gave a weapon to the hostage but then she fights and dies even faster. She takes even more time before warping, preferring to stay in the middle of everything to fight. I'm thinking now: why can't we pick her up, the same way as we do in capture mission. That would solve this part of the problem.

I noticed that, but she dies too quickly before deciding to "warp". I used Frost (at this point, I mean after having freed the hostage, I usually do not have enough energy to cast Avalanche). My other options are Nyx and Volt.

In this very particular case, I reach the hostage and save her. The problem is after: so many ennemies I can't handle them and the hostage dies in the blink of an eye.

I'm only trying to unlock the nodes. Anyway just tried the rescue mission .. Well stopping the game ... Too old to loose time like this. Wouldn't be an issue if someone was there to help, but alone ... nope. And it is required to go further to get better Frames / weapons ... So it is a deadlock.

I reached Saturn. First 3 missions: nobody. 4th mission is defense, which I farmed. Around 10 times in a row: full group each time. This shows it is not a question of people being in end game (while I agree this is certainly a part of the answer). People use those mission to gain xp for their new items. Starting in the lower levels and progressively going up. This means you will always find people there, not counting the resource gathering. This is a question of time / reward ratio. Doing the defense mission I just got so many resources / relics / xp etc, the other ones can't compete with. A 20/30 minutes rescue / spy mission gives you peanuts compared with a 10 minutes defense missions. The node unlock principle should be eased in one way or another as we are mostly alone, or they should do something to attract people. This game is supposed to be a cooperative game, right ? What's the point of being solo in 90% of the missions ?

Indeed I discovered that playing solo is easier than being solo in an online game. So I could unlock some nodes by specifically playing solo. The only thing is I'm bad at rescue / spy missions (and I hate them), but this time I could do it alone. Yet it is sad to have deserted area in a multiplier game. I know there are thousands of people connected. DE really needs to even out rewards to span people a little bit everywhere. Right now I see most people do defense or survival and late game stuff.

Just did a defense mission and guess what ? We were 4, while at other nodes I'm alone.

Waow, thanks for the link, that's a long read, thankfully I'm on holiday 🙂 For the record I just managed a spy mission 2 / 3. It is so long that if you fail it is way too much to redo. Anyway the base subject is the desertion on Jupiter.

Well I just tried 2 missions in solo mode rather than on-line. It looks like solo mode is easier than being solo in an on-line game. Regarding the connection, I had no issue for other missions on the 1st planets, for bounties, syndicate missions, relics, etc. Only the node unlock. And for spy/rescue: I'm so bad that it is the other way around: my fail rate is 100% when I'm solo and 20% or even closer to 0% when with somebody (who I actually let do the mission 😁). That was ok on the 1st planets, but there is nobody after earth.

    Nobody on Jupiter

Hello, few weeks in game I reached Jupiter. There is nobody in missions to unlock the nodes. I already noticed a drop down on people in missions on Cerès, Jupiter is even worse. And even worse than that are spy and rescue missions which are empty even before Cerès (I had an issue on Phobos, starting 10 times Monolith with nobody else to help). Before doing this post I searched on this fact and found posts dating from April 2015 and further. That's 3 years and a half with this issue not addressed in 1 way or another. That would not be a too big problem had those missions been balanced for a solo player reaching this stage, but it is not at all.
  13. Thanks for all the answers and advices, which actually I already read elsewhere 🙂 Anyway, this shows one thing, this game is not for me, I'm too old to try to break walls that are in the way of my enjoyment, if I'm not obliged to. Well, as I made the node on Jupiter, I can now progress, but I bet that reaching the Second Dream quest will ring the bell of the end of my Tenno adbventures, that is, if there isn't another such mandatory node before. Unless DE eases thing a bit in the meantime.
  14. Hello, I started the game around 2-3 weeks ago. After around 1 week I reached the "Stolen dreams" quest where you need to retrieve 3 sets of data. I'm not good at those missions, so after several tries, I started discussing on the regional chat channel. I was very very very ... very ... close to stopping the game when someone offered to help. He literally did the quest for me. This unlocked me and I continued the game. Prior to that, I, of course, had other spy missions, but where you only need one data (not the 3) and other people where there and could do the mission, so I could progress without any issue. Later on, I reached a particular node, I do not remember the name and the planet, and had an issue as nobody was doing this particular node. I was systematically alone. This particular node is not mandatory so it was not big issue for me. Yet the same guy helped me again, so for the sake of completeness I was happy. And now I reached the 1st node on Jupiter which is a required rescue mission (not a spy mission but the gameplay is very similar). If you do not complete this node you can't progress further. I tried twice being solo, then the 3rd time someone was there and we could do it (for the little story he ran to the the exit, letting the ostage die. Thankfully I noticed it, revived the ostage and the guy asked me why I was so slow ... yeah ...). To backtrack and disgress a bit, when I reached the Stolen dream quest, I searched the net for advice of course. One recurring advice was to use a furtive Warframe like Loki or Ivara. Well, at this point in game there is no way to get a frame like Loki or Ivara without actually paying. So, if a particular frame is required at a particular point in game, this makes the game a pay to win (not talking about paying to get things faster, but having to pay to simply progress). Plus, as you may have understood, I particularly dislike this kind of gameplay and considering the very limited resource we get, I will not use them for something I do not like. As a conclusion: While I can understand some people like this gameplay and those missions, this is not the case for everybody and I strongly advise DE to go back on the drawing board. I wouldn't be surprised that some people stopped the game when reaching "Stolen Dreams" without even searching further as I did. Do not forget the silent majority. And a little search on the net shows that I'm not the only to complain on that. It is enough to notice that those nodes are quite empty while you are never alone on most other nodes. In my case, those missions, especially the mandatory ones, make the balance heavily tilt on the "non-fun" side. As an analogy, for those who know, I stopped Path of Exile because of the Labyrinth. It is a quite similar situation: a particular gameplay, that some people enjoy, but not everybody, and that they made mandatory. Needless to say I did not spend any money in this game. Melirion
