Alright, having played a few rounds at various levels as limbo since this update, I can now honestly say that I'm less than impressed.

The primary reason for that is the fact that bringing enemies into the Rift is now egregiously complicated.  Previously, you could just hit a button and bring them in, but now you have to come out of the Rift (flying uncontrollably across the room, no less, skewing your aim), hit the button, then come back into the Rift (again, flying across the room for no reason), and then you can fight the one enemy that you wanted to fight, along with several that were just there.  This was clearly done to balance the new lack of time limit to your being in the Rift, but ultimately it just makes the whole system fail.  Additionally, I would consider the multiple enemies banished at once a fair compensation for that, since you're now bringing the whole battle into the rift, as opposed to just one or two selected enemies that either interest you or look like they'd be trouble for your friends.  Sure there's a knockdown effect on banishing, but that's not helpful since by the time you get back in the Rift, and situated with your new position, they'll already be back up and raring to go.  I understand that there's some concern about Limbo never exiting the Rift, and never doing anything to help a team, but with this convoluted Banish setup, that's precisely what your're encouraging.

I've implied an additional problem with the 'dodge-to-enter-the-Rift' system.  That was a good idea, in theory, and the lack of time limit and energy cost is nothing if not enticing, but when you're not moving, and you want to hop to the other plane of reality it's rather annoying to suddenly be thrown to some other point on the map.  Now, since I almost never roll in most of my frames (the slide does about the same thing, but more controlled) using this button would be fine.  However, if I"m not moving, I...don't want to move just to enter the Rift.  So, if pre-existing motion could be considered in that setup, that would be much better. a stationary shift would also reduce the problems with Banish, as it would make more efficient shifts, and therefore the necessary shifts to conduct a banish would be much more doable.

As far as Stasis goes, I definitely dig the idea for it; time-stopping is always fun, but it feels a touch at odds with the rest of his moveset.  Also, the enemies under its effect can still turn, which is odd, but I think that's a glitch more than anything else.  Those are really my only issues with this, and ultimately I don't put too much weight on the first one.

The new Rift Surge is interesting; it's supposed to be a way for us to get people into the Rift even if we're still in the Rift.  The trouble I have with it is that to use it, we still have to go through the whole process to get someone in the Rift before we can do this.  And with Banish now effecting multiple targets, most of the targets will already be in the Rift by the time that Rift Surge is used.  Perhaps this problem changes form in extremely high levels (I've yet to do any sorties), but from what I've seen, this Rift Surge isn't the most useful of abilities.

Limbo has always been about control over who can and/or will do battle with him, and I feel that he's lost quite a bit of that in this update.  I think these issues could be fixed with either a stationary riftwalk, or by allowing Banish to work on enemies in the other plane.  Or both of these solutions.  That would work too.

Thanks, and I look forward to trying out the rest of the new material.

Main thing I can agree with is a stationary riftwalk, would be nice.

P.s. Sliding and rolling are different, one reduces damage taken, the other doesn't.

P.s.s. Rolling is the one that reduces damage taken.

I've used it on other ones and it seemed to work fine.

I see no reason in removing something that worked, even not as intended.

    It was not intended.

Imagine if you found a way to get your lato to shoot rockets, it would be beneficial and pretty neat, but it's not how it was intended to perform by design.

Alternatively, if something was not working as intended and it created a negative result would you still see no reason for it's removal?

I think one of the inherent issues with Warframe is that almost all Warframes have ONE ability that is useful, the rest is trash. And by trash I mean they don't synergize well with each other in any meaningful way. They're just throw in there just for the heck of it.

Nova is her Molecular Prime, Frost is his globe, Mesa with her ultimate, Valkyr with her ultimate etc etc.

Its probably why Nidus is on the top of the chart in fun and overpowered. His entire kit links to each other. It also doesn't hurt that his abilities can hurt high level enemies comapared to other damaging warframe abilities( Which either hurts or it doesn't) Its one of my pet peves in warframes

She's Anti corpus essentially. I don't know how shes good in Defense/Mobile Defense/Survival and interception though (I haven't played her in a while)

Valkyr's kit has synergy for her 2nd-4th abilities, it's her first ability that doesn't work with the rest.

lol all these ppl being serious when the OP is obviously be sarcastic......smh. Why can't people understand sarcasm anymore :c

Sarcasm and internet text are known to not mix well. It's not hard to see that OP isn't very serious though.

I stopped playing entirely while I wait for the space aids to blow over.

  5. The fact that the warframes have diverse characteristics and appearance makes me lean towards the possibility of the warframes having a mind of their own in a sense. The fact that each warframe has a unique set of abilities and 'behaviors' is a clear indicator that they are more than puppets. It could that the operator just creates a unique persona for each warframe, but I find that far-fetched.

Given how many hints there are towards the warframes being more than what they seem or are perceived to be, I can't discount the warframe itself performing an action independent of the operator. Also, doesn't mirage's quest also support the warframes being their own person, at least originally.

I'm sorry you had to experience his ungentlemanly behavior firsthand. The grievances created by the Rift Plane and Limbo's abilities can be eliminated if the rework is designed with co-op in mind, so that Limbo can stop isolating himself from the rest of the game. Let him use his power as he pleases without getting on everyone else's nerves.

    If I had my way...

      Hide contents

    Banish

    • Limbo cannot cast Banish on ally players that are interacting with objects.
    • Banished players pressing X to interact with objects outside will automatically end their Banish early.
    • For banished players, there is a UI hint under their Banish buff icon (next to their Shields/HP bars) saying <Press "Shift" to exit rift>. Or whatever hotkey the player bound to use rolling action. We should not have to look it up on the wiki or stumble upon rolling by accident.

    Cataclysm

    • All pickups, carryable items, and interactive objects inside Cataclysm are considered inside the rift, like Cryopods and Excavators. This allows all players to collect loot, do mission objectives, and use objects without Limbo stopping them.
    • If Cataclysm appears or disappears on top of a player while they are interacting with an object, they will not be interrupted in any way (still holding onto datamass in hand, still in hacking puzzle, still activating Life Support Capsule, etc).

Outside of those long overdue anti-trolling measures, I am really excited to see what Scott has in mind for Limbo!

He's a Rift Magician able to dictate who he fights, when he fights, and claim a part of the battlefield as his very own playground. He has access to a mysterious middle-way realm between the main dimension and the Void, which allegedly enables teleportation over vast distances. He can do so much more than the same trick thrice (Banish, Rift Walk, Cataclysm).

This right here would eliminate my grievances with limbro, and consolidating banish and rift walk into one ability to allow for his 2nd ability to do something unique with his ability would open up a lot of room for enjoyment of this under-appreciated frame.

  7. I'd rather ripline were given added functionality (like an innate reduced cast time, or rather the ability to target multiple enemies) instead of being removed. Valkyr has three handy and useful abilities (War Cry,Paralysis, Hysteria) and one useless but fun ability (rip lining 100+ feet into the air in seconds) and giving valkyr a useful ability like what you're suggesting may warrant a NERF.

  8. Not to sound elitist, and i'm sure I will when I say this but...

The people calling valkyr squishy and complaining about her survivability probably don't know what they're doing, or are quite simply doing it wrong since her hp is decent and her damage reduction is highest among the other warframes from armor alone, aside from possibly chroma with elemental ward and vex armor.
