I started encountering an error when starting Warframe where the launcher would supposedly update, but then give an error saying it could not update Launcher.exe:
C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\Warframe\Downloaded\Public\Tools\Launcher.exe
My friend had experienced the same problem a few days prior with the exact same error.
I tried following solutions from forums but with no success, even trying to launch it with Steam failed the same way.
The only way I was able to fix the problem without downloading the entire +/-30GB worth of game files was to do the following:
1. Uninstalling Warframe from "Programs and Features"
2. Deleting the entire Warframe folder (C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\Warframe)
3. Downloading Warframe launcher from its website (https://www.warframe.com/)
4. Starting the install making sure to select my original Warframe folder, where I had previously selected the launcher to download all the game data, as it still had all the downloaded game data.
5. It should then download the necessary updates and automatically detect the previous game cash.
This is where you may find a problem, as mentioned previously, my friend had the same problem, but when he started the launcher install and selected his original folder, it did not detect the game cash and thus started to download the entire game again, resulting in a 60GB Warframe folder.
