  1. A Flat Range Cap would allow Nezha players to utilize the augment on a much greater variety of builds, including health tank builds or chakram builds among others. Instead, the 50% base range nerf pigeon-holes this augment into a singular, niche high range + low strength/duration build that also makes significant concessions on Nezha’s survivability and power of his other abilities. DE mentioned that they did not want to change the”functionality of the augment” in the 35.5.3 patch notes, which implies that they are fine with the damage that the mod provides. The range nerf was added to “keep the power level reasonable”, most likely in response to the new 55m nuke Nezha build that so many YouTubers made videos on. However, that high range build has a HUGE opportunity cost in terms of power strength and duration for Nezha, the two attributes that traditional Nezha builds focus on. Furthermore, the survivability of that build is much weaker than standard Nezha builds, and relies heavily on your kill speed. The augment doesn’t even handle the most dangerous enemies at all: Eximus units. DE, I do get that you want to limit the FINAL range of Divine Retribution. But the 50% multiplicative rang nerf only serves to force a very specific build and playstyle. Nothing changes for existing Nezha builds, and this augment comes basically dead on arrival. The Base range with this augment is only 9.5m! That’s barely larger than a melee weapon with primed reach on it! At that point, why even bother using the augment when enemies are almost melee range in the first place?
  2. Honestly, a flat range cap (of ~40m) would be a much fairer fix for the augment. As it stands, the augment now requires an ultra-niche, 280% range build all to get less damage and less range than a mediocre Saryn build. He’ll, even Equinox would outperform Nezha here! Regular Nezha builds will no longer use this augment since the base range with the augment is barely larger than a melee weapon with primed reach. The average Nezha build won’t change, and he’ll go right back to his low pick rate / weapon -platform roar builds. This knee-jerk reaction straight up ruins what could have been a new renaissance for Nezha and mass appeal to the player base.
