  1. Yes, that's the point, it's a bad excuse for not doing the right thing.
  2. They would be screwing over the people who've already bought it in the current structure. Now, if they want to make it right, they can do a refund program through literally blasting them in the face with a dedicated refund program information modal popup, with timer, on login, this is an available option.
  3. I did watch that and all I remember is "Well that was a bad idea in retrospect", which is something I could have told them a priori for free, "and we'll never do it again", which is not really fixing the current problem.
  4. So, are we getting any words or updates on possibly refunding all this and starting again on a safer footing? It's not as if it's impossible, it's just actually having to do some work. Anyway, I'd actually be interested to see the final accounting on this, including the way the hit to community trust will impact prime pack sales, every player I've talked to about them always painted them as an obvious high price being a reward for DE for playing nice and, well, I'm actually really curious to see how this ends up from a revenue standpoint.
  5. You know there's something that really amuses me when playing the game, I took Mag P out for a spin and I have a tennogen on her, and I mentally compared the tennogen prices with the heirloom skins, even if you removed the very, very deliberate bloat. Well, we're all grown up enough for basic math, I suppose.
  6. It's really a shame the way the public relations and community management staff gets all that fire breathed at them instead of the people actually responsible because it's just so much easier to not think and just spit everything out at the first person available, and same for the reactive sinophobia we've seen a bit of around. Really, all the same around customer facing roles all around, does really bad things for my faith in humanity. Yeah, she's probably be quite interested in this. Either way, I hope the community team is enjoying their weekend of not having to deal with the tire fire for now, and also that someone further up the chain starts making good decisions.
  7. They actually can just give everyone a refund, it's not a particularly complicated maneuver if things are set up properly, and if they aren't or fear complications (to be honest, a fair concern to have) they have email addresses right there. And the lesson is hardly complicated and anyone could have told them that, including themselves.
  8. Excal P and such are exclusive by contractual obligation, the heirloom collection hasn't got to play by the same rules.
  9. I have in fact already given DE, let me think, somewhere around 250€ over the last 5 years, I think? Which is not that low and allows me to pontificate at length about this state of affairs. Some people have brought up sinophobia and, yeah, it's true, there's some significant amount of it about tencent, blaming them for a lot of this behaviour. This sort of behaviour, use of FOMO and padding a bundle with things that are easily available out of the bundle (I think the original Valkyr Prime access pack had ten air support charges in it!), does not require the presence of tencent or any person or entity based in the People's Republic of China (and somewhat related, I don't think DE was ever fully independent for the entire duration of Warframe being a released game, tencent is just the current last in line), and I think it's important to focus on the core of this problem which is, come on DE, what are you doing? And well, we know very well what DE is doing and DE also knows very well what DE is doing.
  10. On my end I was considering that two skins and a negligible amount of plat and some stuff I needed even less were being sold for more than I paid for Armored Core 6, a full price game. It just tastes bad, you know.
  11. In addition, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the game by launching a predatory sale is a pretty funny way to do it.
  12. Aside everything about how this is a bad deal and FOMO and somesuch, (and it is,) I think this could end up having weird effects on the culture of the game, for example when PGI introduced the 500 USD gold paintjob for clan mech skins, the community reacted by starting to TK players with mechs decorated that way, for the sin of encouraging that behaviour in PGI, and quite frankly I hope this is not the sort of behaviour and ambience DE wishes to curate. You know you can just refund the entire thing for all buyers and make it a plat purchase, do whatever you wish with the associated regal aya and plat and fifty other premium currencies and just call the losses of the entire fiasco the price of lessons learned, which need to be learned several times in a row.
  13. Teleport volumes in pits make sense, and also serve a gameplay purpose for clearing buffs and such, even if there's a number of places where they start far too high and where, with modern mobility, it would be trivial to leave, however when it comes to going up or out, I think invisible walls are far preferable, they are artificial as hell and often frustrating, of course, but teleport volumes are that and more.
