I can confirm that this issue is caused by the script that actually installs the stars. Specifically, it's updating the count, and then using the *old* value to check on the stats, including endo value and completion. This is noticeable by watching the endo value when you install each star manually. It won't increase when you insert the first star because it used to have 0, but it will for stars 2, 3, & 4 with the endo values for 1, 2, & 3 stars respectively.

I recovered the "Socket 3 Ayatans" Nightwave weekly from a couple weeks ago, but when I went to socket an ayatan, the script hung. It didn't update the Endo count until I exited and re-entered the info screen for it and it didn't count it towards the weekly. Tested just now on the latest 25.7.2.1 hotfix.

I do wanna update real quick to say that the ability to forma moas has been fixed, but the original issue of swapping polarities remains.
Edit: As of patch 25.3.2.1, this is bugged again. 😕

I can confirm this bug exists. Furthermore, trying to install new forma on them also gives that message. I have 1 forma on mine atm too. Mine has different parts, so I think this applies to all moa.

Yes, if we could install an additional star on the ayatans after they're filled, the rest should trigger automatically.
But ofc, since it's impossible to install a star on an ayatan without an available socket, we're kinda screwed. XD
